Pretty good product
This product seems pretty good. I mean, it’s face wash, so there’s really not all that much one can say about it. It’s relatively gentle (I have sensitive skin), and seems to hydrate fine. Your mileage may vary, but it seems pretty good to me.
Fast absorbing with nice scent
This face and body lotion works great for men. It’s quick absorbing and smells nice. I’m hesitant to put this lotion on my face though. I have rather sensitive skin and non face specific lotions can cause me to break out. I would rather apply something else without a scent on my face.So far the lotion has been great in the spring time. I am not sure how well it will fair against the colder dry winters.
gender issues in lotion?
REVISED after several days use (3/31/13)…that “manly scent” is a bit strong. It didn’t bother me on my husband at first but now it’s noticeably too much. Just too much fragrance. I’m demoting it. Sorry!———————–Men’s lotion? Really? Not sure the marketing plan behind that, because I believe this is exactly like the regular Vaseline lotion (a great product in itself) with a slightly manly scent added. Do they think men want only navy colored products in their bathroom and it’s a decor thing? Is it too girly too use the plain white or cream colored “regular” lotions? What’s next? Men’s toothpaste? Men’s toilet paper? This is a great lotion, simple as that. But upon comparison, there’s no difference unless you need some sort of manly affirmation.
Nice Fragrance, But A Bit Oily.
Vaseline’s “Men’s: Body and Face Lotion” is a nice solution to dry hands, especially for those of us who do a lot of weekend-house and yard cleaning.***You’ll notice immediately that it feels just like any lotion except that there’s an oily feel to it as soon as you put it on and even when you rub it into your hands, there’s a– or at least feels like a greasy, oily feeling to your hands. With just a small, perhaps a quarter-size squeeze, I found myself wiping any extra lotion on to my face and neck.***After a few minutes, you can still feel the effects, but the look and feel of dry skin is gone. And, that dry, ashy skin is smooth and somewhat softer. This is perhaps the best thing.***So, the lotion works well and has a nice, mild masculine scent.
It’s winter. It’s itchy.I’ve been using Vaseling Aloe with Cucumber and I loved that but I finally ran out so I decided to try this variety.And….I’m just as pleased. It goes on smooth and drys quickly without leaving your skin feeling greasy or nasty. It does have a rather strong perfume scent which people may or may not like.I rather like it.Great for winter dryness if used daily.Highly recommended.
I don’t like it
I received a sample of Vaseline Men Body and Face Lotion and didn’t really care for it.I thought that the scent was was too strong. Not only is it objectionably strong, but it’s also quite feminine-smelling. Come on, we’re guys! Most of us don’t want to smell like girls! Also didn’t care for the way it burns my face. After shaving, I’d expect a lotion designed for the face and body of a man not to burn his face. But that’s exactly what it does and it’s a pretty unpleasant burn at that. I want a product that moisturizes and nourishes my skin, not one that burns it.The lotion is also too watery and doesn’t seem to be absorbed deeply into the skin.I’m not a fan and would never buy it. 2 stars.
Decent moisturizer, but it smells like a 1970s aftershave
We’ve been regular users of Vaseline moisturizers in our home for several years, so I thought this new lotion directed towards men would be a nice variation on a product with which we’ve been very happy. Unfortunately, it only took one squeeze – and one smell – to decide that going forward I’ll continue to use the more “traditional” Vaseline lotion.I’ve found that this lotion serves moderately well as a moisturizer for use on the body, although not as well as the Vaseline Intensive Repair. I haven’t noticed any oily residue, and the product is fast-absorbing. I don’t think any product can completely eliminate winter itching, but this does a fairly good job of limiting that itchiness. The problem with this product is the smell, which reminded me of something that my dad may have worn when I was a kid, or perhaps a cologne that one would purchase at a gas station. If I wanted to scent my body, I’d buy Axe, and I just don’t expect this kind of thing from Vaseline. I understand that they’re directing this one towards men, and that it can be used on the face after shaving, but a more low-key smell would have been a better choice. If you like the strong scent, then this will probably appeal as a four-or-five star product for you. If you’re like me, though, and don’t enjoy a strong “masculine” scent in your everyday body lotion, stick with other options.
Fine for Body, Not for Face
This Vaseline product designed for men is a very fine moisturizer that once applied absorbs very quickly and does not leave behind a sticky film. It is not greasy, has a subtle and quickly dissipating fragrance, and the results of the moisturizer are immediately felt and the appearance of the skin is let looking healthy. So for skin of the body it is an excellent product. The `lotion’ is simply not adequate for men’s faces that are daily scraped with steel while shaving! The face requires toners, moisturizers and emollients in order to avert the signs of ageing. While this product may be all that young men (such as teenagers) need, the older the man the more s=consistent the care to the integument of the face is required. So in the long run, this product is excellent as a body lotion for instant and rapid moisturization: it is not adequate for the face of a man. Grady Harp, March 13
Don’t care for the scent
This lotion is marketed as a multi-use lotion that a man can use both on his face or on his body. I got it from Amazon Vine, and neither my husband nor my teenaged son want to use it because they do not like the fragrance. It has what I would describe as a generic after-shave type scent. It definitely smells like a product for men with no hint of flowers or fruit. But it does have that artificial after-shave smell that I remember from my dad’s aftershaves in the 70s. It’s not too overpowering of a scent, but it might clash with a cologne or scented body spray. The lotion is light and quickly absorbed, so it might be suitable for someone looking to simplify their bathroom counter by having only one lotion for both face and body, but my family found that the fragrance of the lotion left nobody wanting to ever use it.
So many lotions leave me feeling greasy that I’ve almost given up on them. Yet with winter and my chapped skin, I figured I’d give this a try. Works well just about every place I put it-legs, face arms. Recommended
Strange, it doesn’t say Axe…
I don’t know exactly when it happened but I noticed (actually it was pointed out to me) sometime within the last few years the time it takes the two members of this union to get ready to leave together has been reversed. I also don’t know how I feel about that since it was probably the only area where I previously had the upper hand. In any event, one of the reasons is after showering, it seems my skin dries out like it should be the next landing zone for a Mars rover. It’s always been a concern, one that frankly has always been most effectively addressed by petroleum jelly or cocoa butter in areas that are not publicly visible. Even for the areas that will get you a citation for indecent exposure, if I didn’t want to slide off the sheets or leave a grease slick worthy of a sequel to Coming to America, and I have sampled just about anything that claimed to be a good moisturizer with rapid absorption, the best options have been Lubiderm or Nivea. This product is a workable option, with a caveat. It has proven to be effective with fast absorption, superior to the cocoa butter formulas I have been using most recently as well as the Lubiderm and Nivea products that are also languishing under the bathroom sink waiting for their respective calls to service. None of them and this one is no exception, does much for the sandpaper heel syndrome, as an old school application of copious amounts of petroleum jelly is the thing that works best for me.. Excluding the petroleum jelly, all of the products mentioned leave the skin feeling soft and resilient with leaving much of an oily residue. However, as though I really needed to add another mundane step to my daily decision making process, with procurement of this variety of Vaseline lotion, now I have to decide what fragrance cologne I intend to wear before I “body moisturize.” The difference is no other lotion I possess has such a strong scent as the Vaseline fast absorbing. Fortunately, the scent is very similar to Armani Code, a cologne I wear pretty regularly but in combination with other scents I may wear like Aramis or Burberry, this lotion is a non-starter.
Typical Vaseline with “Men’s” Scent
This is your typical Vaseline lotion: it’s obviously not as thick and effective as some more expensive brands, but it’s also not watered down and worthless like the stuff most hotel chains get from their Sysco service. Anyway, it’s about right for just using a little to keep your mouth and hand skin from flaking if you use a little bit every night before bed.I’d probably just go with one of the regular versions rather than the men’s version: I don’t really like that typical “men’s” scent this and all sorts of standard “for men” products use.
I have mixed feelings about Vaseline Men Body and Face lotion. On one hand, it does absorb quickly, after which it is not at all greasy. That is of major importance for lotion. With some, I feel like I am leaving a trail of slime every time I touch something, such as a phone or computer mouse. In terms of moisturizing, it is light, but does a good job. I prefer it to the heavier stuff, though that has its place. The real deal killer for me is the fragrance. It is strong and smells like a cheap generic men’s cologne. It is also one of those smells that seems to get stronger as the day goes on. For that reason, I will use the rest of the bottle, but will not purchase it again. Perhaps a lotion made by Vaseline that is not targeted at men would be a better fit for me.
This moisturizer works for me
I have been using this moisturizer for a while; it is fresh, the scent feels great and the lotion dry pretty quickly leaving no greasy feeling. I generally apply this on my body after the morning shower and it feels great.1.Neutrogena Triple Protect Face Lotion for Men, SPF 20, 1.7 Ounce (Pack of 2)2.Lubriderm Lubriderm Men’s 3-in-1 Lotion, Body, Face and Post-shave Lotion, Fragrance Free, 16 Ounce3.Gold Bond Men’s Everyday Essentials Lotion, 14.5 Ounce
Sexy fragrance & healthier skin
My husband likes to take very hot showers, which leaves his skin dry, particularly in the winter. However, he is resistant to using lotions from my side of the bathroom because he doesn’t want to smell like a girl. This results in his skin occasionally getting painfully dry, at which point he gives in and has to use my heavy duty creams.Since I gave him this bottle of his very own manly scented lotion, I have noticed he is actually using it! I have observed a gradual improvement from the painful dryness he had started with. He likes the fragrance, it is similar to colognes he would choose, a lighter sandalwood spicy scent. He also likes the texture, which is smooth, not greasy, and absorbs quickly.I tried it out, and found my hands and elbows feel nicely softened. I like the fragrance, too… on my husband, that is, not really for myself. I have noticed I can still catch of a whiff of it hours after he put it on, so it lasts nicely, similar to cologne. Love that!
Good light lotion with a strong fragrance
This lotion does absorb quickly as advertised, and is good for light dry skin issues. It does not leave a greasy feeling on your skin for a long time as some lotions do.In my experience this is really only good for light dryness issues, and if you have areas with more severely dry/chapped skin you will want to reach for a more heavy duty lotion as this will not do much for you there.I personally found the fragrance to be pleasant, but be warned it is quite strong, so keep that in mind if that is something that bothers you.
Very strong smell, light moisturizing.
I realize that manly men do not want to use flowery smelling lotion. Thus the advent of “men’s” lotion. This has a very strong musk like (strong men’s cologne). So strong that I had to tell my family to stop using it, the smell was simply annoying and actually making me sneeze (when I used it myself) Reminds me of walking down the hallway of a middle school, where you are assaulted by the odor of perfume that the kids have bathed in. However, I am sensitive to scent and if you are not, perhaps this will be fine for you.The lotion itself not super moisturizing, really for not too dry skin. If you want a light lotion with a strong manly smell, this is for you. If not, look elsewhere.
A Perfect Combination!
This Vaseline Men Body and Face Lotion is the perfect moisturizer that also doubles as an aftershave. The lotion is light enough that it quickly absorbs into your skin. The scent of Vaseline Men Body and Face Lotion is so great that you don’t need cologne and it lasts throughout the day. A great lotion for my son that keeps him looking good and smelling better. This lotion comes in a huge bottle and is a great bargain and is a perfect combination of moisturizer and cologne. I love it!
Another quality lotion by Vaseline
We’re long time fans of Vaseline lotions – and I was expecting the same level of quality with this one. And I was not disappointed. This does feel light and oily early on, but is quickly absorbed, and is very easy to spread. The musky scent is also a nice addition. No complaints about its moisturizing effects either.
Cologne like smell is way too strong…
or as my wife described it in two ways 1. kinda of like skunk 2. sweaty gym locker. As far as lotion properties goes, it goes on quick, moisturizes decently, and doesn’t feel too greasy afterwards. I think it smells like they mixed cologne straight into the lotion. With only hand application, it’s pretty strong and can perfume a good radius around you. In some ways, this is much more economical that buying small bottles of aftershave with the added bonus of decent lotion. The marketing team has definitely targeted this to men… dark bottle, “tackles dryness”, etc. If you dare to use this as BODY lotion, I think you’ll be way overpowering with the cologne scent and will get a bunch of stares and people scrambling to get >10 feet away from you. A faint smell stays even after you wash your hands, so keep that in mind too. On the other hand, if you really really really like cologne, then you’ll love this product.
Quality body lotion, not so much for the face…
Vaseline lotion isn’t the highest quality lotion out there but this product does offer ease of dry skin irritation and has a pleasant smell that accompanies. The one problem I’ve run into with this product though is that I find I have to lather up about one to two times per hour to keep my skin moist. I do live in the Midwest which is suffering a substantial drought, and I do work outside for a living, therein lies my reason for needing this. I have noticed that it’s not so much a face lotion though. It merely seems to sit on my skin instead of absorbing. Definitely a great body lotion though, no complaints as for that.As I said, the smell is fantastic, though I wouldn’t recommend wearing any cologne with it, as the competing smells offer up a very strange mixture. Also, this is a great product for aiding in keeping your new tattoo moist.Overall, there are better lotions out there but for the price and volume Vaseline offers, it is tough to beat. Recommended.
Good lotion but the smell is annoying and has staying power
This is a confused product. It is both a moisturizing lotion and a fragrance! But nothing on the box and packaging and product name suggests that the lotion is also a fragrance. An annoying one at that. And it has staying power. For example, I put it on my elbows in the morning, and the smell is still there in the late afternoon!Granted smell is subjective, but the smell is at the “quality level” of things like Axe and other over-saturated “extreeeeme man” colognes. Annoying smell! The lotion is good, it gets absorbed quickly without leaving grease or leftovers behind. The package is around 20 ounces, that’s good quantity. The head of the pump is practical, you can get a fairly small amount with a gentle pump and you can rotate the head to fit whatever angle works best for you.Since you can’t remove the scent from the lotion, I would recommend first testing it out before buying it! Because even if you like the smell, it may annoy other people around you.
Super fast absorbing, ok scent, medium moisture
Apply it quickly as it dries fast. It seems middle of the road as far as moisturizing, which is actually ideal for me. There’s nothing greasy about it. The scent to me is like old fashioned barbershop manliness with something else added that I can’t identify but which makes me feel as if I’m going to the Kentucky Derby and have box seats.
Absorbs quickly; no greasy feel; strong scent
I’m pretty pleased with this lotion. I’m a long-term Vaseline Intensive Care user, but normally get their unscented products since their scented ones are often too “perfumy.” This has a strong scent, but it’s more of an aftershave/cologne type scent. I sort of like it, but it could easily be dialed back a notch or two.The lotion absorbs very quickly and does not leave my skin feeling greasy. It’s not as super hydrating as other lotions I’ve tried, but it does the job. I’d much rather have a little less hydrating rather than a greasy feel.If the scent could be dialed back a bit it would be a 5-star performer. As it is, I’ll give it 4 stars.
Well, it definitely works on my body. It gets rid of dry skin very well. It would seem like it would be difficult for it not to work though, especially since Vaseline always made great lotion. I just wish it smelled like their other lotion, Vaseline Total Moisture. I’m use to that scent. It does not smell bad. It smells like normal lotion, but I’m just use to the scent that comes from Vaseline Total Moisture.
Great Masculine Scent
This is a fast absorbing, non-greasy lotion but it’s still moisturizing. I think the stand-out quality of this lotion is the great masculine scent. I love it for my hubby and sons. Some wonder why men need their “own” lotion but my sons and husband are the kind that think they don’t need to wear lotion because they think it’s girly so if I can get something like this that is scented and marketed for men then they are more likely to use it. They’re use to all of my bodycare being very girly so this is just a good incentive to get my men to wear lotion. Men’s skin gets dry too and they need lotion too.
This is a great lotion for your body. Here in Philly, the winter months can be very dry on your skin. I love hot showers, but it dries my skin out along with the low humidity here. I am always itchy unless I put lotion on. I am the type of guy who is picky with his lotions, and I hate lotions that make you feel all greasy. I am pleased to say that this lotion passed all my picky requirements. It goes on smooth, dries fast, has a nice cologne-like scent, and non-greasy. It is so nice that after using it, I can put my clothes right on in under a minute and don’t feel uncomfortable. I don’t even have to wash my hands after applying it cause my hands aren’t greasy.I only use this on my body, but it says for face as well. I have acne prone skin so I am hesistant to use lotions not meant solely for face. However if you don’t break out easily, then you can use it on your face as well. This is a great lotion by Vaseline and I highly recommend it.
I’m a regular user of Vaseline lotions — the green kind with aloe is one of my favorites — so I wanted to try the kind specially formulated for guys. This has a faint, pleasant odor that is masculine enough to convince guys it’s a product for them. (It smells like aftershave.) But the smell isn’t cloying and fades quickly, which is what I wanted. The lotion feels fine going on and keeps your skin sufficiently hydrated. Unfortunately, it made my skin break out, something the green kind never does. Your mileage may vary, but it wasn’t for me.
Adequate Vaseline Body and Face Lotion for Men but better options available.
Vaseline is well known for their skin care products. I was glad to give this Vaseline Body and Face Lotion for Men a try.Likes:>Well designed container that’s easy to grip, has a stable base, and a traditional pump dispenser.>Acceptable, piney, masculine scent.>Light consistency makes the lotion easy to spread over skin surfaces without feeling slightly greasy like theLubriderm Men’s 3-in-1 Lotion, Body, Face and Post-shave Lotion, Fragrance Free, 16 Ouncethat I usually use.>Adequate for moisturizing skin after long hours outdoors or after many performing many skin drying tasks such as repeated hand washing for disinfection at home or at work.>Revitalizing ingredients (claimed) good for nourishing sun and weather dried skin.Dislikes:>Lighter consistency also means easily washed away with water and doesn’t moisturize as long as the Lubriderm product.>I still prefer unscented over perfumy lotions.>This Vaseline lotion (20.3oz) costs almost double the price of the Lubriderm (24oz) product.Overall:I really like the refreshing scent and good skin moisturizing of this Vaseline lotion but it provides less lotion, doesn’t moisturize as long, and costs more than the unscented Lubriderm product I normally use.
This is a nice Vaseline lotion that’s an excellent all-over lotion …
My husband has always enjoyed Vaseline products because he doesn’t care to have to be stingy and put on a thin layer of any lotion. He loves being able to slather it on after a shower or any time he feels the need to moisturize. He has very dry skin and although there are products out there that “claim” to do a better job, he’s come back to Vaseline every time. There are now four new Vaseline lotions out there and he’s trying all of them. He’s in lotion heaven and his favorite is the Cocoa Radiant. These lotions are not fragrance free, but don’t claim they are. They do have light, refreshing scents that are not cloying and don’t linger in the air. One of the nicest things is that a couple of these are now Amazon Add-Ons, something I’ve come to appreciate when I’m running low on an item, but don’t want to run off to the store for a single item.Men Body and Face LotionIngredients: Water, Glycerin, Stearic Acid, Glycol Stearate, Glyceryl Stearate, Petrolatum, Fragrance, Triethanolamine, Isopropyl Palmitate, Cetyl Alcohol, Dimethicone, Carbomer, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Propyl Paraben, Disodium Edta, Titanium Dioxide.Aloe FreshINGREDIENTS:Water, Glycerin, Stearic Acid, Glycol Stearate, Isopropyl Palmitate, Petrolatum, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Extract, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil or Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Sterol, Sodium Stearoyl-2-lactylate, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E Acetate), Retinyl Palmitate (Vitamin A Palmitate), Panthenol (Provitamin B5), Sodium Acrylate/Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Dimethicone, Glyceryl Stearate, Cetyl Alcohol, Lecithin, Mineral Water, Sodium Pca, Potassium Lactate, Lactic Acid, Collagen Amino Acids, Urea, Fragrance, Triethanolamine, Dmdm Hydantoin, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Disodium Edta, Titanium Dioxide (Ci 77891).Cocoa RadiantINGREDIENTS:Water, Petrolatum, Glycerin, Stearic Acid, Isopropyl Palmitate, Glycol Stearate, Dimethicone, Theobroma Cacao Seed Butter (Cocoa), Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter) (Shea Butter), Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil or Glycine Soja Oil (Sunflower, Soybean), Glycine Soja Sterol (Soybean), Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E Acetate), Retinyl Palmitate (Vitamin A Palmitate), Sodium Stearoyl 2 Lactylate, Collagen Amino Acids, Urea, Glyceryl Stearate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Carbomer, Lecithin, Mineral Water, Sodium PCA, Potassium Lactate, Lactic Acid, Fragrance (Parfum), Stearamide AMP, Triethanolamine, Methylparaben, DMDM Hydrantoin, Disodium EDTA, Caramel, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891)Total Moisure, Pure Oat ExtractINGREDIENTS:Water, Glycerin, Stearic Acid, Glycol Stearate, Petrolatum, Isopropyl Palmitate, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Sterol, Sunflower Seed Oil Or Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Protein, Sodium Stearoyl-2-Lactylate, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E Acetate), Retinyl Palmitate (Vitamin A Palmitate), Carbomer, Lecithin, Keratin, Dimethicone, Glyceryl Stearate, Cetyl Alcohol, Sodium Pca, Potassium Lactate, Lactic Acid, Collagen Amino Acids, Mineral Water, Fragrance, Triethanolamine, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Urea, Methylparaben, Dmdm Hydantoin, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Disodium Edta, Titanium Dioxide.
