Why is this soap listed under toys???
I was pleased as this was sulfur soap which helps with my acne, but this particular brand has a very pungent fragrance. Since this is advertised as an acne treatment, and most acne people have skin and allergy problems to start with, the fragrance is totally unnecessary.
I love this soap, it does wonders for acne! I purchased it in search for a cleanser containing sulphur because sulphur is the main ingredient in Proactiv’s spot treatment. This soap not only contains regular sulphur, but Bio sulphur! The soap does leave the skin feeling a tad tight, like most bar soaps, but nothing too horrid. I believe the lanolin really keeps this soap from drying your skin out. I use this in the morning followed by a lemon juice-green tea toner since sulphur digs deep to clarify your skin and the green tea’s antioxidants flushes all the bacteria away. I will definitely be buying the large 6 pack next time!
Sulfur Soap with lanolin
Really good soap. Large bar that lathers well. Strong sulfur smell means its working, but it doesnt dry out my skin. Made in Mexico. I will rotate this with the Crusader and Roberts soap for all their around medicinal qualities and cleaning power. Of the three the Crusader lathers the best but this soap actually tingles when you use it. I like it alot.
Worked for a couple weeks and then clogged my pores like crazy.
I started using this about a week ago and I absolutely love it. I’ve been using Proactiv for maybe ten years and STILL break out. Not horribly bad, but bad enough to notice it (especially during that girly monthly time)…and while using a slightly expensive product line (up to 50 bucks a month), I felt that my skin shouldn’t continue to break out – even a little bit. Since Proactiv’s sulfur mask has always worked for me, I thought I’d try this. I wash twice a day and use a light moisturizer afterwards, since my skin feels a bit tight afterwards (but doesn’t peel like it did with the other stuff I was using). The results are great. No tiny black heads….no break outs whatsoever. We’ll see how it continues to work. I like the smell, honestly. The other sulfur stuff I was using smelled like straight up “butt.” This stuff in comparison is great. I can’t smell the sulfur smell at all. Oh…and I don’t have to use any other acne product in conjunction with the soap. Just wash and moisturize. Easy. And the PRICE! My goodness! I’m going to have to stock up. Like now.Update: About two weeks upon using this soap, my skin (especially my chin) developed a ton of black heads…I mean ALL over. These blackheads got infected and turned into giant cystic acne. I’m still recovering (getting over my last giant zit now). I went back to proactiv right after noticing the black heads and am entering a clear stage now but have scars to get rid of. Ugh! I think the lanolin in this just clogged my pores. It may have been a hormonal outbreak, but I never get black heads anywhere but my nose, so I’m thinking this soap was the culprit. I was even exfoliating with a good product while using the soap. If you start to develop black heads, discontinue use! It’s back to Proactiv for me…
I would buy again
Bought this product to try out for the first time. Have not been using consistently like I would like. BUT when I do use it, it seems to do the trick! Dries annoying zits/pimpes and even brings to surface like blackheads. I would recommend this product!
Will not be without it, good for rosacea
After trying many products at the hands of many dermatologists, I read about sulfur helping rosacea. I purchased this because I thought, oh what the heck. I’ve spent a lot of money over the years on other products. The soap does not smell unpleasant, has a clean smell. And it has done wonders for my skin. I gave some to my niece who has just started having some bad breakouts (after reading reviews here) and she loves it.I use this and also the De-La-Cruz-Sulfur-Ointment, also bought here. I am enjoying smooth and even toned skin, I didn’t realize how fair I was when the redness disappears. Thanks
It didn’t work as I was expected
I bought this soap due to it high rate in amazon and it did reduced my acne in just 2 weeks but after that my forehead area started to breakout which it was clear before. I stopped using it it might work for those who doesn’t suffer from adult acne or infection.
This soap has been pretty good so far, I actually like the smell! The only issue I have with it is having to leave it on for ten minutes while washing, kind of a time suck. I still use it for shorter periods of time and it does well. Not sure if it clears my acne, but helps!
Clearing Up Skin
I seem to have acne prone skin, and would always get a breakout as soon as I cleared up. I tried everything, some worked for a bit, some didn’t work at all. Then I came across this by accident when I was looking up parasites. My attention was brought to this so I did research and seen good things about it. I must say that this stuff is actually working! You may smell like a volcano for an hour or two after using it but it’s well worth it.
Does not leave skin dry, and seems to have some sort of healing to it! It derfinitely makes it softer.
Wow, what a difference!
I bought this to help with the acne and dark spots on my face. I’ve only been using it for a week and it is too early to say about the dark spots, but my acne has inproved and my face is 75% less OILY. Yay!!!! My number one problem is oiliness. They should just drill for Oil from my nose that’s how bad it is. This soap has helped a lot and for no other reason that that I am loving it!
Does the job, but a very strong odor.
This is a very effective soap, as far as doing the job for your skin or whatever, goes, but it has a very strong odor and I did not find that it diminished over time, making me very self-conscious in a crowd. I finally started using it when I knew that I wouldn’t be around people (or at least very close to them) until I had taken another shower. But if you have a skin condition that you need sulfur soap for, this should take care of it.
nice, gentle. doesnt smell bad like other sulfur products. leaves skin soft. the only bad thing is at times, it feels like it doesnt take all your makeup off. so sometimes you have to wash your face twice to get all of it off.
I like this soap because it drys out my skin and “eats” all the oil.I don’t have acne, but I have acne prone skin and I break out now and than. But after using this product my breakouts minimized.I’d recommend to use it with moisturizing cream.4 stars, because dried out my skin too much.
made back of upper arms smoother, not sure it’s strong enough for acne on back.has kept chest clear.i use it everyday, and I’m going through it pretty fast. not sure if i’ll buy it again.
Effective with Breakouts!
Since I stopped taking a medication that kept my skin clear and smooth, I have tried every salicylic acid and peroxide treatment out there to curb the renaissance of my pubescent skin conditions to no avail. Within a single shower, I noticed a difference. Now after three uses, my complexion is even better. Make no mistake, this soap does not smell like a rose garden. I don’t think it’s right to vote down for the scent because, well… HELLO – it’s sulfur. You should still moisturize your skin while using this soap. It’s effective but can be a little drying.
Though is smell awful, it really works great on my back to stop breakouts, if you can get past the sulfur smell I hightly recommend this soap. Nice smelling lotion afterward and good to go
Seems to help Seborrheic dermatitis
I asked my dermatologist for a natural remedy for Seborrheic dermatitis and she suggested sulfur soap. My skin has calmed down but it’s still a little dry and tight – but at least it’s not inflamed.
