Not worth all the hype.

I thought this would give me a slick, greaser retro look. It didn’t. It’s bc this is a gel, not a true pomade. I have tried many products for a pompadour, but the only ones that really work are American Crew’s Fiber and Murray’s Light Pomade. They can be used together. I like the lift the Fiber gives, and the shiny look Murray’s provides.

Great Stuff!

Ok, scent is awesome, manly! Not for women nor kids. But women like it and know your not like other guys! The hold is medium depending on how much you use, a little goes a long way! For me, I have fine curly/wavy hair ( no crazy fancy hair) and I put it on when my hair is not too wet nor too dry to get the best control and shine! Water based washes out clean and easy. Root beer in color! Only for “true original” men!

Suavecito Mi Linda!

I’m not sure what these guys are doing with their pomade, I really am not. I’ve tried many pomades over the years, but this one stands out as the most effective in your hair, not just from appearance, but from function, smell, and application. I would point out that I’m African American, so I can’t speak to how it would work with spike or flare styles of hair. Short waves here. For reference, I’ve tried:-American Crew Hair Stlying Pomade, 3 Ounce- This works, but is prohibitively expensive for what little you get. It also does not fully last throughout the day.-Murray’s Superior Hair Dressing Pomade- A joke. Didn’t hardly hold, frizz like mad, and messy to apply.-Axe Refined Clean-cut Look Pomade, 2.64-Ounce Jars (Pack of 3)- This works and is reasonably priced, but it won’t last all day.-AXE Shine Pomade, Smooth Look, 2.64 Ounce (Pack of 3)- Same as above. Works, but won’t last.-Redken Men Polish Up Defining Pomade, 3.4-ounce- Didn’t work well. Nice shine though.-Suave Professionals, Men’s Styling Pomade, 1.75-Ounce (Pack of 4)- Great value, great shine and worked well. But it didn’t last and it didn’t do edges very well. You also don’t get much in each container. So then I come to the Suavecito pomade which had been in my wishlist for months. And what a difference. Not only does it apply perfectly and with no need to brush afterward, the container is nicely sized, and you get a very smooth, controlled hair style that, when coupled with a proper durag (I useWAVE BUILDER Seamless Du-Rag BLACK) for 10-15 minutes, will come out looking perfectly molded and waved out. WITHOUT a brush. You only need to apply it with medium pressure with your hands, then as it starts to get harder to slide your hands, add more pressure. Then mold the edges down and trim to style. Keep the durag on for 10-15, and you’re done.I knocked one star off for one reason that is personal to me and may not apply to you: It does not have any shine that I can tell after it’s set. It does when you’re first applying it. It would have been preferable to have the shine last throughout the day as that’s one thing i like a lot about the AXE and Suave brands – you get a glossy look that isn’t greasy but stands out tremendously. All in all this is highly recommended though (at least for short wave styles like mine).

Provided mediocre hold for my particular hair type

I have thick hair (both volume and the hair strands themselves) and this product just can’t provide enough hold. It’s a shame because I really like the consistency, fragrance and price. But, even after applying and combing through my hair, my hair quickly becomes unruly looking. I confess to having very difficult-to-manage hair, so hopefully others will have better luck.

Excellent

I’ve been using this product for several months and it’s the best pomade I’ve used. It’s light but holds well, washes out very easily, smells great, and requires only a small amount so lasts forever.

Love it!!!

My Favorite Pomade! I love this stuff! I use it with a little bit of water in my hair, when I do it like this my hair is easily formable throughout the day! A little scoop works for me, when I put more it just flattens my hair.

Good stuff with a great price.

First off I have to say I’m fond of the smell, this worked great for me and was for a reasonable price so no complaints on my end.
