A favorite in my medicine cabinet

Prid is perfect for when you have a boil, infected bug bite, or even a splinter that you can’t seem to get out. Simply apply a small amount of Prid over the area that needs to have the infection removed from and cover with a bandage. Within hours the infected area will begin to health itself. How does this work? I have no idea, but literally for over 30 years now, I have used this Prid faithfully to have it work beautifully. I can’t recommend this product enough, the packaging isn’t fancy, but the results are unmatched.

Get what you pay for.

Iodex is becoming both increasingly scarce and expensive. I should have bit the bullet and bought another jar of Iodex instead of this crap. Nothing draws infection out of and heals a wound like Iodex.

Yuck YUCK!

I do not give one stars very often at all. But this stuff was just weird. I put this on a wound that had formed a scab and it caused the scab to come off. There was then a hole in my chest where the scab had been. Is that what this product is supposed to do? I threw this product away. It was very yucky. I got it to help heal wounds and it seemed to make them worse. I would not recommend this product to anyone.

Always works!

I’ve been using Smile’s Prid for nearly 20 years, ever since I stumbled across a few cans of it on the shelf of a local drug store. The packaging looked like something from 1899, so of course I was intrigued. I used it on an infected bug bite overnight by putting some on the wound and covering it with a band-aid, and the next morning was pleased to discover it had worked like a charm. It’s created for small boils and other wounds which have pus that needs to be drawn out; it’s much safer to let the infection come out on its own with Prid than it is to squeeze the wound. Prid draws the stuff out within a few hours, never stings, and a single can lasts forever. The consistency and color is a little off-putting, but it works so well that appearance doesn’t matter. Just make sure you follow directions, and use with a bandage so the Prid doesn’t get on your clothes. The formula changed a few years ago to be “homeopathic” and it works just as well as the old formula did. The only difference appears to be in the consistency of the salve.

Allergic Reaction

I purchased this at Fruitful Yield. I read all the great reviews online. I decided to try it on a cyst under the skin. Right after rubbing my finger on it to soften it up and get some on my finger I started sneezing. I put it on my skin anyway thinking it was just a few sneezes. My eyes welled up, throat felt dry and the sneezing continued. I really wanted to try this stuff so I thought I’d muster through the reaction but it was getting worse. Within 10 minutes I washed it off with soap and water. The allergic reaction stopped. I looked up the ingredients and I am not sure what I am allergic to. I have been exposed to most of the ingredients before except maybe ichthammol, so I’m just not sure. Who knows since companies put so much crap in everything – I guess I haven’t put a marigold up to my nose since I was a kid, so I suppose I could be allergic to those too (one of the ingredients of this stuff). Anyway, I can’t use it, that is why I gave it two stars. I will keep it around to use on the kids or pets and if I find it helps with anything, I will update my review! I sure would like to know what in it I am most likely allergic to if anyone has any ideas.

Prid Drawing Salve

I absolutely love this stuff. It is good for many different minor skin irritations such as cuts, scrapes, boils, blisters, hang nails, irritated cuticles, acne etc. I purchased this to quickly heal up acne and it really did the trick. It won’t work to prevent acne or stop it from happening. It will bring the pimple to a head much faster and allow the wound to heal after it has been popped with minimal to no scarring. Sometimes, it even seems to dissolve the acne with no painful pinching, poking or popping! I’ve also used this on blackheads with great success.

HiGot this for my daughter who had some black heads, Not sure if it would work or not but we put it on for several nights and it drew the black heads out enough to get them on our own. I will use if I get a splinter alsodeezie

It works but slow & hard to apply

It did bring the under skin pimple to head faster but it didn’t happen over night. It took me 4-5 applies to make it worked. Also the cream is very dense & hard. Not easy to apply. Just wonder if there is anything better out there.
