Skin Obsession 50% Glycolic Acid Home Chemical peel for sun damage and lines 1 Fl Oz

Our Skin Obsession 50% Glycolic Acid peel is a professional quality product to help with your skin care concerns. Glycolic Acid is a naturally occurring chemical belonging to the Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) family. Derived from sugar cane, this important AHA is the smallest of the fruit acids and is able to penetrate the skin, allowing it to effectively dissolve the “glue” that holds dead cells on the surface of the skin. The dead skin cells are what cause a dull, uneven skin tone, and the blocking of pores leading to blackheads and acne. Removing the cells leaves behind a glowing, youthful and beautiful complexion by removing sun damage, scars, fine lines and age spots. This also helps stimulate collagen formation under the skins surface which helps plump up the skin from beneath, smoothing out fine surface wrinkles and superficial scars. Our 50% Glycolic Acid Peel is the strongest of our glycolic acid peels and is best for people who are familiar with the peeling process. This peel is suited for tougher skin and clients who know how their skin responds to a peel. If you are new to peeling, a 20-30% Glycolic peel is more appropriate. This peel is easy to us and we include very clear instructions on how to use this peel. After you have applied the peel, your skin may be red; this is normal and will fade quickly. You may wear makeup to tone it down if you would like. About 2 days after the peel your skin may get dry and look aged, then it will start to flake and peel. This 1 fl oz (30 ml) bottle is enough peel solution for 8-10 peels at one month intervals. A patch test is required to determine sensitivity to the peel. By purchasing this product, you assume all risk associated with its use and are responsible for all results either intended or unintended from using this product.

50% and 70% Glycolic Acid Peel

Advisor to buyers: When researching these acidic peels, look for "buffered" and "unbuffered". Unbuffered is 100% pure and not diluted with water; buffered is diluted. Physicians use buffered.I purchased the 70% unbuffered about 9 months ago because I wanted quicker results. I have terribly dry skin on my hands and arms. My skin is so dry that it took 3 applications of 70% strength for a real peeling effect to begin. Even after the initial peel, you will continue to get small flakes later on. A bonus is that it removes age spots (I’m 56). To keep the spots from returing, use sun screen on your hands and use a peel once every month or so. I also use the 50% unbuffered on my face. This stings so I don’t use the 70% at all! Also, don’t use perfumed lotions on skin you are peeling because it will sting, burn and itch.I consider myself an "expert" because I had professional chemical peels for years in my 30-40’s (paid $90 per visit), so I was confident I could do this myself. And I did!

Good exfoliating product–you can tell it’s working!

The seller I purchased this from included some helpful instructions on how to apply and remove this product. It wouldn’t have occurred to me to use a baking soda & water solution to rinse off the acid with after the time was up!I have sensitive skin and mild psoriasis and was able to leave this product on for the full 5-10 minutes recommended without problems. I did not notice any unpleasant sude effects like redness or tenderness. I did notice a couple days after use that there is a small amount of flaking around my nose and chin, where I applied the product (with a cotton ball & my fingertips) a bit heavier.I understand that glycolic and lactic acid are the most successful when it comes to gently exfoliating the skin! While I’ve only used this product a couple of times since purchasing it, I expect to see more benefits with longer-term usage.

Gives great results

My skin is very tough and I left this on for the full ten minutes. I had some slight peeling about 2 days later and my skin was soft and smooth. I’m trying to fade some melasma spots and after one use I would say they are about 30 percent lighter. I’m sure after several uses the spots will be nearly gone. This is very strong and not for people new to peeling.

Good Product

I like this product it is not as strong as the TCA peel from Obsession. However this is a mild peel and if you don’t want as severe of a peel as TCA, use this one. I have both peels and I used this one when I don’t want a deep peel. it ships fast and comes with good instructions

Yipes!

This one was a little too strong for me. I going back to the 40%. But I love this company! I will always use it for my peels as well as the follow up care products.
