- One 4.2-ounce bottle of Hydrating Light Moisturizer from Simple
- Light silky formula provides all-day nourishment and moisture with added vitamins: Pro-Vitamin B5 and Vitamin E
- Contains skin-loving ingredients: Glycerin and Borage Seed Oil
- Suitable for all skin types, especially sensitive skin
- No Dyes, No Artificial Perfumes and No Harsh Irritants that can upset your skin
As with most things I’ve used from Simple I like this lotion. It is lightweight and absorbs into my skin without leaving any residue or unwanted scent. I often use this lotion as a quick face cleaner – I just apply and then wipe off with a clean dry towel before it has a chance to sink in.
Nice light moisturer
Simple Hydrating Light Moisturizer is a nice light moisturizing. The lotion feels comparable to the standard Oil Of Olay Beauty Fluid, having a kind of wet, slick feel and absorbing into the skin very quickly. Can apply make-up just a few minutes later. My skin feels more hydrated for several hours after using it.
Nice and Light
Simple Hydrating Light is a very refreshing moisturizer that is made with the skin healing wonder, glycerin. Glycerin is “hygroscopic” witch means he absorbs water from the air so it is constantly adding more moisture to your skin. Simple Hydrating goes on very light and absorbs nicely without leaving any stickiness behind. This is a very nice product and a reasonable price. An extra star for being fragrance free, Love it.
Used for a week, hello acne!
Switched back to the regular brand after a week and acne cleared up.I did a little research. Simple was bought by Unilever. Brands include: Aviance, Axe/Lynx, Ben & Jerry’s, Dove, Flora/Becel, Heartbrand, Hellmann’s, Knorr, Lipton, Lux/Radox, Omo/Surf, Rexona/Sure, Sunsilk, Toni & Guy, TRESemmé, VO5 and Wish-Bone.A couple of other little items I discovered: Simple does contain parabens which several studies have linked to cancer (especially breast cancer). Also they now animal test. Just wanted to put that out there. The moisturizer caused an acne flare up that went away soon after switching back to our normal product. Poor results and now knowing that the company isn’t as ‘Simple’ as it once was, I will stick with other brands such as Yes to Carrots.
I like this.
I’m not too picky about moisturizers. I want one that’s not too heavy and that doesn’t cause me to break out. I know that none of them are going to perform a miracle. I just want one that will keep my skin from becoming dry. This fits the bill, and it’s not expensive. It’s light, so you really don’t know that you’ve put it on. I like that it contains Vitamins B5 and E, although I don’t know if that really does anything for your complexion. If you’re looking for a light-weight, reasonably priced moisturizer, I’d definitely try this one.
I love this stuff! I have very sensitive skin, so I need to be careful what I put on my face. Most facial moisturizers break me out or have the opposite effect of drying out my skin! Simple Hydrating Light Moisturizer is a great everyday lotion. I put on immediately after washing and drying my face and it seems to lock in the moisture for the whole day! It is every gentle enough for my ten year old daughter to use! I can’t wait to try the rest of the new Simple line of facial products!
not just for your face
This product has done more for my hang-nail prone fingertips than any product I have tried. It is almost miraculous in my view. However, on my face (which is fairly oily) it was not so good. So think of this as a dry skin treatment. It also helped my lower shins, another of my dry-prone areas.
Works for me
This is a very basic, lightweight moisturizer, that does just what you’d expect: moisturize. It reminds me of one of those old fashioned cold cremes, thinned enough to squeeze out of a bottle. Spreads easily, absorbs quickly. Doesn’t feel greasy. Doesn’t smell like much of anything. Didn’t cause me any discomfort or breakouts, but I don’t have particularly sensitive skin.I’m not thrilled with the ingredients. While I realize I’m putting this on my skin, not eating it, petroleum oil isn’t my first choice for anything. So, while I’m fine using it, I’ll probably look for an alternative when it runs out.
This is a nice, light moisturizer
This is not a 5-star kind of product. Moisturizer works or it doesn’t. This seems to work ok. I like it’s light texture. It’s not sticky, or greasy or smelly. It lays lightly on the skin. I’m lucky to have pretty easy skin to work with. As a teen I tended to try to eliminate all oiliness, and now in my older age, I have a dry and flaky ‘t-zone’ which used to be oily in my teens. I tried this, hoping to address the flaky dryness, and not acquire old-age acne. I feel this may work. Will it work as well as, say, baby lotion? Time will tell.
Very nice light moisturizer
I have combination skin, and I’m middle aged, so getting the right balance of moisture without ending up greasy is sometimes hard. In the winter I use a heavy cream both day and night, but in the summer I need something lighter.Simple Hydrating Light Moisturizer is perfect for my skin. After cleansing, I apply a drop or two all over my face, concentrating on the drier skin around my eyes. I noticed that my skin felt dewy and moist (but not sticky or oily) after the first time I used it, and I’m very pleased with it. I like that the ingredients are natural, and that it’s unscented and won’t block my pores.I’ll still need a heavier cream for winter, but I plan to use this all summer long.
Simple Hydrating Light Moisturizer
This moisturizer is definitely light, and thin. The first ingredient is water but it does have glycerin which normally sinks into my skin nicely. However, I had to use 3 consecutive applications to get a smoother feel to my skin and even now as I write this review I want to reach for my bottle of Jergens Daily Moisture and slather it on my face.Ever since going through “the change”, the skin on my face is dry. Used to be oily but not anymore. Especially in the dry months of winter I have to frequently apply lotion. I was hoping this product would at least last a couple of hours before having to be renewed. I’m sorry to only give it 2 stars but I’m just not all that thrilled with it. And besides that, it sort of burns. I’m wondering if the burning sensation is due to the NaOH that is listed in the ingredients. It does have a nice, light scent which doesn’t make me feel ill like a lot of perfumed products do.
You get what you pay for…
I ran out of my Elizabeth Arden Matte moisturizer that I am usually able to find at TJ Maxx for $12 and bought this as a substitute. It’s a great value: 4.2 ounces for less than $10. However, when I apply it to my face, I notice a slight burning feeling and my face has a reddish tint for a while after the initial application. While my face has gotten used to the burining sensation, the redness still appears after each application. I hate to be wasteful, so I’m trying to use it up (almost done, thank the Lord!), but I will not purchase anything else from this line.
JUST ENOUGH SOFTENER
LOVE THE SIMPLY HYDRATING LIGHT MOISTURIZER AND IT IS NOT HEAVY ON MY FACE. TRIED USING ANOTHER EXPENSIVE MOISTURIZER AND I BROKE OUT ALL OVER MY FACE LIKE A RED BEET. SIMPLE IS EXACTLY THE MOISTERIZER I NEED
Okay Fragrance-Free Moisturizer
The Simple Hydrating Light Moisturizer (4.2 ounce) is nothing special. I do like that it is fragrance free. I’ve had enough of these perfumy products. UGH! Ultimately, the moisture did not work any magic on my dry skin. Very grateful to have tried it, and will not pay $10.00 for a product that delivers less than it boasts.
Not moisturizing enough for winter
I’m going to try this again in the summer when it might be perfect, but it’s just not enough for my early-40s skin in sub-zero weather. It IS more moisturizing than I thought it would be based on the consistency. It tends to more liquid/runny than creamy. It also works well under foundation.
LOVE this moisturizer!
I have SUPER sensitive skin, but this stuff works great for me! It has no dyes or perfumes. It goes on clean and smooth without being greasy. It smells nice but is not overpowering. Also, it is made in America, which is an added bonus!
Light, nice, nonsticky, and feels good on my skin.
Everyone has different skin and needs, so it is obvious that not every product will work for everyone. I am older, in my mid-50s, and my skin is combination dry and oily. For me, this works very well. I find it is absorbed almost immediately and leaves my skin feeling clean and not at all sticky, tight, or irritated. I really like the way it feels on my skin. It is a light moisturizer, so if your skin is very dry, you might need to look for something heavier. The amount I use is about the size of a large pea, which seems to be enough and does not leave an excess of lotion on my face. I’ve used it under MAC makeup, when my skin was drier than usual, and I did not find my face shiny during the day. Also, when I’ve used it on my face at night, the next morning when I washed my face, it does not feel slippery or ‘lotiony’, as if the lotion were simply sitting on my skin- something I’ve noticed when using other lotions or creams. There’s no scent at all to this product. There’s a generous amount in the bottle, and at this price, and considering the small amount needed per use, it is quite economical. I have used Simple’s Replenishing Moisturizer, also, and cannot tell much of a difference. Both work well and feel nice on my skin.Again, everyone has different needs when it comes to facial products, but I can say that for me this is one of my favorites and I will be using it again.
Lovely except for the sting!
This is a lovely moisturizer — very light and smooth, and it holds up for the full 12 hours promised even where I live in the desert. However, when first applied after washing my face, I have to admit that it stings! For a good 30 seconds or so it almost burns. I haven’t noticed any other side effects — no rash or discoloration or anything like that — so I’m assuming that the stinging is benign, but it definitely wakes me up, and not in the most pleasant of ways! Still, so long as it remains benign, the moisturizer is good enough to be worth it.
Not a product
I got this one because I don’t like the scents in other moisturizers, but after using this one I’ll put up with it.This didn’t really make my skin soft, and after about a 4days of using it , I got one nasty rash! My skin isn’t sensitive at all, so I was really shocked when this happened! I wasn’t sure what caused it, so I stopped using everything. Then, went back to just using this because my skin was so DRY after having a rash that last a few days, then again after about 3-4days of using this *bam* a rash again. Wouldn’t suggest this product, and I’m frustrated that I spent $8.00 on a product that I can’t use nor return. Truly not a good one!
After loving the toner I thought the lotion would be great as well and I could start saving some money on facial products. I have no idea what was in this to make my face break out but it did. My skin is very sensitive. I use Glymed products and a Clarsonic ritually. I tried this lotion for a week just to make sure my skin wasn’t trying to adjust or if it was PMS but it was definitely the lotion.
all there product just waste money i tried them all hope would be sensitive all did break my skin out and burn it to.
Very nice lotion
Well I had never heard of the product line Simple before but I can tell you that I am highly impressed. I am a 64 year old lady with dry, sensitive skin. This product is extremely effective and very gentle at the same time. Directions are to smooth it gently onto your face and neck, being careful to avoid the eye area. I have also been using it on my hands at bedtime and it makes my hands so nice and soft. The fragrance is very light and almost unnoticeable. It contains Vitamin E, and Pro Vitamin B5. This lotion/cream is a recommend to buy in my opinion. The price is right too!
The Simple Hydrating Light Moisturizer gives my skin just enough moisturizing without clogging my pores or making my face feel too heavy. I like that this moisturizer instantly dissolves into my skin and gives me the light coverage that I need. I love that the Simple Hydrating Light Moisturizer doesn’t have any fragrance which is important to my sensitive skin.Simple Hydrating Light Moisturizer is very light which is good but if you need more hydration to your skin than you should wait a few minutes and then add an additional layer. I love that this moisturizer gives me the option of having a light moisturizer or adding more to get some heavier protection and that is perfect for me.
It is LIGHT
I have been using the Light Moisturizer for about three weeks now. There are several things I really do like about it.First of all, it doesn’t leave my skin feeling greasy.Second, it is reasonably priced compared to many moisturizers on the market.Third, it doesn’t make my face break out (I have sensitive skin).I don’t use makeup, so I use this straight on my face, and it has been keeping my face moisturized during the harsh weather we have had recently (Will Spring EVER come?)
Light and Simple
This is a great moisturizer to use after cleaning your face. I have oily skin and useSimple Moisturizing Facial Washto cleanse my face prior to moisturizing. I cleanse and moisturize in the morning and the evening. I really do not want a moisturizer that will clog my pores and leave my skin feeling oily and heavy. Simple Hydrating Light Moisturizer quickly absorbs into my skin and leaves it feeling soft and smooth. No greasy oily feeling is left behind or heavy perfume scent. No harsh ingredients to flare outbreaks. A tiny bit goes a long ways too.I love the “simpleness” and look forward to trying out more of the product line.
I found that this product delivered on all its promises. It was a very light lotion that moisturizes well – it started off a bit oily but was quickly absorbed into the skin leaving only a comfortable sheen. I’m sensitive to ingredients in lotions and deodorants, and try to stay within a narrow spectrum of brands. After a week’s usage, I found that this moisturizer was as hypoallergenic as it claimed.I would definitely buy this again.Happy moisturizing!
Simple Hydrating Light Moisturizer
Simple Light Moisturizer, Sensitive Skin Experts, Vitamin B5 and Vitamin E, Glycerin and Borage Seed Oil, No Harsh Irritants, No Perfumes, No Dyes. This moisteurizer feels good and refreshing on the face. You don’t need a lot of it; it rubs in nicely.I tried this moisturizer on my hands, arms, and back, and it feels refreshing. I’m sure it would also be good on the legs and feet. I do love to pamper my legs and feet, as they’ve been through so much for me (and still going).Highly recommended.
Makes my face soft and hydrated without feeling greasy
I have a hard time finding lotions that work well for my face. Most lotions that say they are lightweight and won’t leave skin greasy still usually do for me. However this Simple Hydrating Moisturizer lives up to the claim of being lightweight. The texture of the lotion is thin (not thick like a body butter or something like that), and is free of colors or perfumes. When I use it on my face, it feels very light and not greasy at all. As it’s absorbed, I find my skin does feel very soft, but not oily. I use face washes with Benzoyl Peroxide in them, so my face gets very dry and needs something to re-hydrate it. After I apply this lotion, the tight/dry feeling I get from using my facial cleanser goes away, and my face feels soft and smooth again. The lotions dries on the skin quickly too, so I can put my makeup on shortly after applying this lotion. I haven’t had any problems with it causing any beak outs or resdness (and just about everything irritates my skin causing redness). It works great for me, so I really like it!
Light Moisturizer For Everyday
This is a nice moisturizer to use in the morning before putting makeup on. It has no scent and a little goes a long way. I use mineral powder makeup and I like having a light moisturizer to put on first to help with dryness, especially in the winter. I always apply the moisturizer a little while before applying makeup so it has a chance to sink in well. (I apply moisturizer, then go have my coffee, then off to put makeup on.)This doesn’t leave my skin looking softer or younger. It is definitely not an anti-aging cream or anything like that. But it does prevent that dry look which mineral powder makeup can make look even worse. So for that use, it’s been working nicely for me. And if strong smells of lotions bother you, you will be happy with this. I have smelled scent-free lotions before that still have a funny smell to them. But this lotion truly is scent-free.
This small bottle contains a light moisturizing lotion designed for sensitive skin. To that end it contains no fragrances, dyes or irritating ingredients. The lotion is completely non-greasy. It absorbs well and it really had no scent. As promised, the hydrating effect lasted the day. My skin felt soft but not oily or sticky. The bottle is compact and closes securely making it ideal for travel. My one reservation was the inclusion of mineral oil in the ingredients. I prefer natural oils such as almond, olive or jojoba. The jury is still out on the safety and efficacy of mineral oil. Its proponents say it is safe, effective and inexpensive. They maintain that it seals in moisture and protects the skin and does not spoil. Opponents are less comfortable about its origin. They claim it clogs pores, dries and irritates the skin and may have negative health consequences from liver damage to cancer. Although the deleterious effects have not been substantiated, my feeling is better to be safe than sorry. This product delivers on it promises. My skin stayed soft and smooth and I appreciated the fact there were no irritating dyes or perfumes. The moisturizer is light and gentle and may be a good option for those with sensitive but not overly dry skin.
