Couldn’t believe it worked!

I’d seen these around, but couldn’t imagine how something in the shape of a loop could help me press out blackheads. However, Paula Begoin (The “Cosmetic Cop”) mentioned it in one of her recent newsletters, and so I had to give it a try. I got it tonight, halfheartedly pressed it over a blackhead, and when nothing happened I figured I’d probably just wasted $10. However, after a shower I tried again. I centered it over a blackhead, pressed down fairly hard and saw some “gunk” begin to emerge. I moved it down and away slightly (kind of the same motion one would make scooping ice cream), and the gunk lifted out! It really DOES work!Mind you, it hurts. You really have to press down kind of hard in order to make it work. Tears sprang to my eyes after I’d done it 3 or 4 times. (Still, I was tempted to keep using it just because it was so oddly gratifying to see that nasty stuff come out!) It also left my face red and puffy for a while–about 3 hours–but then it went away. My plan is to use it nightly after washing my face, just getting a few a night.Feels much cleaner than when I’d use my fingers, even though I’d wrap them in tissue first. I also prefer it over a pore strip which just seems to remove those fine little hairs on my nose (and I always worried about the way it would pull my skin). So why only 4 stars instead of 5? Like I said, it hurts, and I figure it’s going to take me a looooong time to get rid of all of my blackheads a few at a time. Still, this is the best solution I’ve found thus far.

Don’t waste your money.

I bought this and one other item similar to help with all the blackheads that I was having problems with around my nose and chin area. The two items along with shipping came to about $30. Such a waste! In order to get any black heads out, I had to actually scrape my face. The pain was horrible and it would scar my skin for about two days. What’s worst is that with all that effort, it wouldn’t even get half of the blackheads out. I always tried after a hot shower so my pores would open up and my efforts were a complete waste. Please, do not waste your money. Instead, spend your money on Biore Pore strips. They work miracles. And if you use them regularly, you stop getting black heads all together.I bought this because of all the good reviews but this product was a complete waste of money.

Good enough and sturdy

I am relatively pleased with this extractor. It’s sturdy, easy to grip firmly and securely, and also easy to sanitize. It’s really only meant for the extraction of pustules (whiteheads, mature pimples) than anything else, and in that it does its job. I do wish, however, that the wire end had been designed a little differently, as the openness of it detracts from the results by making it too easy for the skin to move away from the pressure of the tool, even when used properly. It’s good enough, and well made, but not a dazzling performer. I would buy this item again if I lost the one I have.

It works…

Could be a five star. Maybe it is my fault. Eventually the whitehead came off; better yet, it left no mark. I am happy with this purchase.

Not what I should have bought

There is nothing wrong with it, just the wrong size for what I needed it for, so for whatever reason it doesnt’ really work for me. Be careful to look at the different ones available

Doesn’t work

All this does is smash the comedone deeper into my skin. Ouch, that hurts! I wish I’d saved my money.
