Less plum, more pink
I read the reviews before buying this, so I expected it wouldn’t be true plum but I didn’t expect it to be so…pink. Luckily it’s not a weird shade of pink. As I mention in all my makeup related reviews, I have dark skin. This colour barely shows up when I use it by itself, but it’s great over lip stain. It lasts for a few hours, and it’s great for day time wear. I don’t regret buying it, since it’s a good balm with a hint of colour. I gave this three stars because the name is misleading. I want to see Revlon make a lip butter in this line, that truly deserves the name “Sugar Plum”, I’d buy it.
Not a good all-year round shade
I find this color is like Pink Truffle, which is my favorite of all the lip butters and probably the only one that I truly recommend, but this color is a bit too purple for my liking and I wouldn’t find myself pulling this one out until fall approaches. The other lip butters I have tried are: Berry Smoothie, Cherry Tart, Lollipop, Tutti Frutti, Cotton Candy, and Wild Watermelon
This plum color goes great with dark hair or dark skin. Very moisturizing and glides on the lips flawlessly. This is my third one purchased!!
I had originally bought the berry smoothie which ended up being too light pink for me. This sugar plum was the perfect shade and I like the texture of the lip butters. I do have to wipe and reapply during the day though
The lip butter formula is incredible. It’s moisturizing without being sticky. It fades gracefully without leaving a ring around the edges. It doesn’t dry lips. It’s forgiving enough to be applied without a mirror.
Not as smooth as the other color I’ve tried and color is not as rich.
Like another reviewer mentioned, this isn’t as plummy as you might expect. I wanted an almost burgundy-like hue, but it looks too pink for my liking. Also, it seems thicker in texture than the Fig Jam color that I have, and prefer to this.
REVLON Colorburst Lip Butter, Sugar Plum
I picked this color since some of the pinks looked too pink and it seems like the dark colors would apply on lighter than they looked in the picture. This color does not appear bright on my already pink lips, it looks plummy but I’m guessing ladies with lighter lips will get different results. I have gotten three shades so far and each color is uniquely different!
This is the perfect color! Not too pink, not dark. This is so smooth and doesn’t dry out. Best lipstick ever. Will buy again!
MUCH more sheer on the lips than it looks in the tube.
Sugar Plum is a pretty pinkish plum color but is MUCH sheerer than it appears in the tube. When I wear it, I use a plum lip pencil under it (all over the lip) to boost the color and the staying power. I really love the Revlon Lip Butters, but I prefer Red Velvet because it looks on the lips much like it looks in the tube.
