More like lip gloss than lipstick/butter
This is okay, but I can’t imagine it staying on for very long because it’s more like a gloss than anything.
Doesn’t live up to the hype
I purchased two of these Revlon Lip Butter colors because people rave about them and they are always sold out everywhere, so I thought they may be a more affordable alternative to my usual Clinique brand lipsticks. Well, I was wrong. I really don’t like these lipsticks. The color is very pigmented but the texture of the product itself is super creamy. It doesn’t last on your lips ling, even when using a liner or a primer. It also smears super easily. I don’t recommend it.
Pigmented but bad color
This is probably the most pigmented color I have seen in the Revlon Lip Butter line, which is good, however the color is cheap looking and unflattering. It’s a deep cheap looking red.
All the lip butters really are very moisturizing. The color doesn’t stay well all day but really, very few lipsticks/butters do. I have darker lips and only this color and the red velvet are dark/opaque enough to look naturally pleasing.
Gave as a gift
I gave this color as a gift, and she tends to reach for this color often. For what the packaging looks like and my experience with the other lip butters I’ve tried (Pink Truffle is my favorite, Sugar Plum, Berry Smoothie, Cherry Tart, Lollipop, Tutti Frutti, Cotton Candy, Wild Watermelon), this is a good gift to give someone.
Red Velvet is a bright, very pigmented red. It is the darkest color of these lip butters. One swipe gave full color and it is best used with a lip pencil. It is not sheer at all. I have searched google images for a true color photo, but there really isn’t a good likeness I could find. I think people really blot this one down or don’t know how to apply it. I, for one, didn’t really like red velvet because of its opaqueness, but some others really love it judging by the reviews on makeupalley. I heard it was more of a brick red, which is more of what I was wanting but it was more like a brighter burgundy red on me. These lip butters are great, though. However, I returned mine and have opted for the lighter, natural & sheerer colors such as Fig Jam, Pink Truffle and Brown Sugar.
Beautiful red. Doesn’t turn pink. So moisturizing for your lips. They remind me of how moisturizing ultra expensive Chantecaille lipsticks are. Great quality for the price.
Love love love
One of my favorite lipstick brands! The texture is smooth and lightweight, and the color is gorgeous. It lasts for a few hours before needing to be reapplied, unless you are eating or drinking a lot. Perfect lipstick for going out or for everyday.I have 3 shades already and plan on picking up more 🙂
Great product. Great color.
The texture of this product is creamy and moisturizing, but the color does last for quite some time. This particularly color is pretty much described by the name. It is a deep, highly pigmented brown red.
Great lipstick! Goes on smooth, doesn’t dry out. Perfect color! I love Revlon’s Lip butters! I will definitely buy again!
I’ve been looking for a red lipstick that is noticeably red, but not overpowering. I can’t pull off bright reds, they make me look washed out. This is the perfect color, though! It’s kind of a dusky red, very sultry, and goes on really smooth. I love it!
