I have tried dozens of shampoos/conditioners/treatments for my unruly/frizzy/wavy hair, and I was so excited to try Renpure’s Keratin straightening shampoo and conditioner. Unfortunately I could not get the shampoo to lather–not one bit. My hair tends to get a bit greasy at the roots, so I need some lather action in order to get my hair totally clean. It left my hair super tangled and also weighed my hair down tremendously. Overall, I REALLY wanted to like this product and was hoping that it would do amazing things for my hair, but Suave’s Keratin line is SO MUCH better and is also significantly cheaper.
Bought this at a local drugstore. I wish I would’ve saved my receipt, so I could have returned it. The first rinse felt unclean so I repeated. Instantly tangled and dried out my hair terribly. Conditioner couldn’t make up for what it did. I don’t understand anyone liking this shampoo.
Not for fine hair. This weighed my hair down and looked dirty the same day I washed it.
Meh. This is only so so. Ok if you use it oce a week but not daily. Weighed my fine hair down to a lackluster limp blah. Very disappointed 🙁
A LOT of LOVE for this shampoo…Where to start?!
I first saw this shampoo at my local Food Lion grocery store but kept on sticking with other brands I knew and were comfortable with up until about a year ago when my hair started going totally crazy on me for some reason.I started trying all these new products, treatments, herbs, oils, you name it and nothing seemed to work so after a few wasted bucket loads of money I decided to start trying different shampoo’s and see what worked….I originally bought the blue bottle shampoo (the one with the Argan Oil) of the same brand because one I liked the smell a little better than this and two because after all the intense reading I did over the months Argan Oil had some rave reviews. The Argan Oil shampoo did quite well for a short while but then my hair started going nuts again so my search begun all over. This time I started my search on Amazon and after a few hours for some odd reason I decided to try this one and I am SO glad I did that words cannot describe my happiness.I’m still on my first bottle out of the two that came from the "set" and I don’t want to jingset but I think this may just be the answer to whatever was wrong with my hair all of a sudden.I have very long, straight, thin brown hair (never dyed, highlighted, chemically treated) so except stress and or change in water treatment in my area (which I have no heard of, just guessing) I really cannot think of anything else that could have affected my hair in such a negative way for so long. For now this is my go to shampoo and I would definitely recommend it for people that want healthy, clean and shiny hair from a shampoo that has no sodium chloride, salt, dyes, sulfates, parabens or gluten.
Four And A Quarter Stars
I really do like this shampoo. It cleans my hair in one pass, but as others have noted, it tends to be drying, and my hair has been colored, which makes it somewhat dry to begin with. I also use the conditioner with it, although after reading some reviews, I am switching over to the Intensely Straight conditioner, because the reviews on that were very positive. I think I have tried every product there is, by every manufacturer I have ever heard of, and a few I have never heard of. This is a good product line, and it lasts a long time, because I don’t have to use a lot of it. It is also inexpensive, and it smells pleasant, not like a mass of chemicals over layered with fragrance. I have a lot of wavy, thick, flyaway hair that is the bane of my existence. There is also one spot in the back that is hideously curly and impossible to deal with. In desperation, I even had a Brazilian Blowout at the salon. That worked fairly well, but it made my hair flat and it always felt greasy to me. I was washing it every day or every other day, and I hated it. The Penpure Shampoo and Conditioner makes my hair easy to manage, but I do still have to flatiron it to get it perfectly straight. The good news is that even after the flat iron gets my hair straight, it still retains enough body to look really good. If there isn’t much humidity, I can get away with just blow drying it, which is a time saver. While this product line isn’t perfect, it’s close enough for me. I have it on Subscribe & Save every two months for the shampoo and every three for the conditioner, although I could probably get away with every four months for the conditioner. I travel frequently to visit family and friends, and I have bottles of the shampoo and conditioner, and a flatiron at every house, so I don’t have to pack as many things. The only downside is that friends and relatives also like it and have to replenish my supplies! Other than dryness, which the conditioner should alleviate, there is no downside for me. I now wash my hair every third or fourth day, which is great. It looks clean, healthy, straight and it smells pleasant but not like it has a lot of product in it.
love it !
