My go-to tool for applying foundation

I use this brush to apply liquid foundation. I fell into the all the hype about the Beauty Blender sponge, so I spent $20 and bought one. I wanted to be thrilled about it, but ultimately, it sucked up too much product and it didn’t apply foundation as nicely as the RT Expert Face Brush. The RT EFB doesn’t waste product and gives a flawless finish. I’ve tried the Shiseido brush, too; it’s a high end brush, and I still find myself reaching for this RT brush. I love it. It’s a great tool for a very good price. Don’t fall for all the hype about other foundation tools. This is all you need. When I use pressed powder foundation, I use the RT Buffing Brush which has a flat top. It’s great for that purpose. I don’t think Amazon sells it; I bought that brush from Ulta for under $10.

Great brush for the price

I found this brand while looking for a large, domed shaped eyeshadow brush like the Sonia Kashuk one from target. I couldn’t find one at Sephora or Ulta and only found one that matched what I wanted in an eyeshadow set by Real Techniques. I didn’t want to buy the set since I already had other eyeshadow brushes and didn’t need them but them anyway because the price of the set was cheaper than some of the individual brushes I owned but I figured I’d give them away. I ended up loving the brushes and giving away some of my more expensive brushes!I went to their website and they offer some great instructional videos and that is how I found this brush. I ordered it and am really satisfied. Its soft, minimal shedding, easy to clean, great application. I love the colored handles because they make them easy to find the one you are looking for which speeds things up and lessens frustration a bit when you are in a hurry.I have a SEPHORA PRO AIRBRUSH #55 foundation brush and I tried applying my foundation on one side of the face with that one and the other side with the Real Techniques brush and couldn’t really tell a difference. I think the real techniques brush is easier to blend because the brushes are shorter and firmer so you can make the application sheerer and but its smaller than the Sephora airbrush and takes longer to apply so I end up using the airbrush more. The smaller size does allow for me detailed application as well.I am rather impressed that it gives the same results as the more expensive Sephora brush and overall happy with it. I have kept both, one for when I am taking my time and want either sheerer or more detailed application and the other for speedy application.

just okay.

I really have no use for this brush…as I dont use liquid foundation. I thought I’d be able to use it for powder but it’s so small that covering your face takes a really long time.I wouldnt purchase it again, however, if you use liquid foundation, you might like this because of how small it is, you can really get into all areas on your face.

I learned of this brush a couple months ago and i watched and read reviews before i decided to buy it. oh boy, did this brush do wonders. it gives me the best foundation application ever. i have used many different kinds of brushes that you can use for foundation and this one has done the best job. no streaking, no cakey look. just perfect blending and looks natural. i love this brush and i would definitely recommend it!

Ginger Stockton, GA

very soft and dense

great brush for those that might use powder…its so soft tho I just use it without makeup to rub my face..Not sure what technique to use it for, so I use it to clean up any fallout

Nita Ironside, OR

Great for applying blush!

Ok for starters, I’m 18 and this is a really sturdy and comfortable brush. I took off one star because it didn’t seem to do me any good with my foundation. But it applies blush beautifully. I’ve just recently started wearing blush and this brush blends it to perfection. I love it! 🙂 xx

I love this brush!! It is amazing…I put a little strip of BB cream on it and rub all over my face…it is smooth and soft! Applies incredibly evenly! For such a small price it produces fantastic results!

Melinda Telford, PA

Very good!

I use this brush to apply foundation or bronzer and I must say it: it is great! Real Techniques products are all very good and have never let me down! All the products I have purchased were amazing and for a little price!

Shauna Rosewood, OH

The best foundation brush hands down

I have been using this for 2 weeks now and I love it. It makes my foundation go on smoothly and evenly and it blends it in so well. I love the hair on the brush, very well packed and the value is incredible!!

Serena Juncos, PR

I have just about all of the real techniques brushes and I truly love them. They are inexpensive and are easy to work with. They are also so soft. Worth investing in these brushes

After a long wait I finally decided to give this product a try and I couldn’t be more thrilled! Wish I would have purchased this brush sooner. my foundation looks amazing and such a difference from using your fingers or a sponge. Will definitely purchase this again!!!!

I was a bit skeptical to spend so much money on just one brush, but after hearing so much from Tanya Burr I decided to give it a try and oh my God. I know a lot of people use it for different products, but I think this brush is great for applying liquid foundation. It gives a very smooth coverage that doesn’t feel heavy on your skin, yet it covers perfectly. Before this brush arrived today, I did my makeup and I was feeling very disappointed with my foundation, but now I decided to re-do it using this brush and it makes an immense difference. In general, the quality is great, it is incredibly soft and it is completely worth the money.

Great Brush

This a fantastic face brush, Its bristles are soft enough that you dont feel like you are roughing up your skin but they’re close enough so you feel an even application as you go. I love the size, I think is very versatile so you can go easily under your eyes and below your temples. I use only a drop of my liquid foundation with this and Im ready to go.

Lourdes Pine Bluffs, WY

love my expert face brush!

So i debated for a while whether I should purchase this brush or sigma’s foundation brush… I don’t really like to spend a lot of money on makeup or tools so after reading the review’s I preferred spending $9 on a brush versus $23 or something. I’m very glad I did!!This brush applies my foundation beautifully. I feel like you need to use less product to get a really flawless finish. My only experience with this brush has been applying foundation so I can’t comment about using it for other things such as concealer or blush. I should also mention I use it with liquid foundation.I recommend this brush for all who are looking for a new foundation brush. It is a great quality brush, soft, yet the bristles are sturdy enough to buff the foundation into the skin. I already washed it as well and there was no shedding.Love this brush, and for the price I think you should buy it!

Randi Oak Ridge, NC

I love it

I’ve been a fan of Real Technique brushes for a while now, and decided to take the plunge on this Expert Face brush. WOW – I wasn’t disappointed. This brush is amazing quality and is so soft! I tend to use this more for my Foundation or Powder and the coverage you get is amazing. The real trick is having a good quality brush as opposed to a good quality foundation / powder. It’s very easy to clean and maintains it’s shape which has been a real problem for me with other brushes purchased in the past. This brush dries quickly too – I leave this to air dry and it’s good to use again within 2-3 hours. Excellent buy – I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this brush to others and the complete Real Techniques range.

Laurie Swepsonville, NC

Great, but smaller than I expected.

This brush is great. very dense! but not so much that product gets stuck in it. It was smaller than I thought it would be, but maybe I just mistook the picture. Definitely recommend to anyone who wants a nice brush at an affordable price,. I will surely be buying more of real technique brushes!

Katina Inglis, FL

great line of brushes

Soft… very soft. I will be using soon.. but have used 2 of the other brushes. and they work great.

Myrna Cougar, WA

Deborah De Soto, IL

Good brush at a low price

I purchased this brush to try with an expensive, hard to work with foundation (that I since returned to Sephora). I had heard about the Real Techniques brand from various YouTubers and wasn’t sure which brush to get – this one, which is sold by itself, or the buffing brush, which comes in a set. I chose this brush because the bristles are soft but very dense, letting me press foundation into my skin as well as buff it in.I don’t like to use this brush by itself for foundation because it leaves some streaks on my nose. I prefer it for BB creams or tinted moisturizer because with less coverage, the streaking isn’t an issue. All in all, this is a decent brush for the money. I like the Real Techqniues Buffing Brush in the set better than this brush for many BB creams. I like the Sigma Flat Top Kabuki more as a foundation brush.

Patrice Otter, MT

Good but not works for me

Brush is very good quality, nice and soft but did not works for me, because it is too small for my face and it took more time to apply my liquid foundation as with my fingers.

Rhea Eolia, KY

Great Quality Foundation Brush

I bought this after I bought the “Core Collection” to have another option for foundation other than the Buffing Brush. It’s different from the buffer brush, as it has a flat side…it’s kind of a hybrid between a flat foundation brush and the buffing brush by Real Techniques. I like that I can “paint” on the foundation and then use in a buffing motion. It’s good to have…can also use with a gel or cream blush – however I just used bouncy blush and it stained the bristles a little. Lately I’ve been using it to stipple on foundation, so I don’t disturb my concealer underneath and then lightly buffing in the skin. I like that I can buff foundation on areas where I want lighter coverage. I’d say this is a great quality brush for the price.

Lorraine Tuscumbia, MO

Love this brush for foundation

Great overall brush for applying any kind of liquid foundation. I use this in conjunction with my Sigma F80 Flat Top Kabuki, and both give a nice finish, but I prefer this one for application, and the other for buffing. Super affordable and good quality!

Heather Wanatah, IN

Haven’t found a real techniques brush I don’t love yet!

This line of brushes are so great. I’ve bought sets of them and individual ones too. I’m thinking of getting a set for my daughter. They wash well, keep their shape and are not terribly expensive. My favorite is the buffing brush. Puts foundation on like a dream. You can’t go wrong with these. No shedding either.

Shirley Mountain City, GA

Such a wonderful, wonderful brush. It’s supposed to be for cream and liquid foundations only, but I find it so versatile. I use it for powders as well.Edit:After a while of using this, I noticed a coarse bristle that’s kept pricking my face whenever I use it for applying BB cream (certain brands, like Physician’s Formula, need to be “patted” on, rather than blended, on oily skin. Stippling doesn’t quite cut it; a light hand doesn’t provide a good enough coverage.) Mostly I can tolerate the prickliness but it’s better if I use a softer brush like the EcoTools bronzer brush for patting on creams. The RT Expert Face Brush is still great for getting into the corners of the eyes and the nose and blends mineral powders to achieve a flawless finish

Leah Eaton, OH

I also love this one so much. I use this for contouring or for blush. I love it soo much and have already washed it and experienced no shedding. Definitely recommend. Very soft.
