Goes on smooth – has a nice finish
I am a big fan of BB creams and alternate between Cover Girl & Shiseido (depending on which one is handier). I was very curious about this version from Pond’s and was happy to get an opportunity to try it.The cream goes on very smoothly and has a nice consistency (not heavy like mud, not runny and too liquidy). I have a bit of a heavy hand, but really didn’t need to use much to achieve acceptable coverage.I have fairish skin tone and often buy a medium shade in other BB brands. This one was only available to me in “light”, but its working out very well. It isn’t pastey looking and has a slight bit of warmth to it. I like it.The packaging makes some claims for reduction of dark spots within two weeks – I don’t know about that – right now I’m just concerned with good coverage, good color, and flattering results when I look in the mirror. This product achieves all of those criteria for me and any future positives will be icing on the cake.
Feels nice, looks nice
This BB cream left my 43-year-old skin looking dewy and fresh. The shade is *very* light and I would only recommend it for people with very fair skin (think Irish or Nordic).I use this instead of makeup foundation. It works very well for that. It never looks caked-on or obvious.
I will never…
Use a different face make up again! I got this as a Christmas present and it’s amazing! I got the medium shade as a gift, opened it and found out the medium is more for very dark people. Like Native American, Latino, and Indian. So I exchanged it for this light shade and it was perfect for me! I put it on and the thick consistency just feels so rich and creamy. It was a little light but it adjusted to my skin tone in a couple of minutes and I looked glowing and flawless. I’m not going to lie, I felt so good. I wear this with the palladio wet 2 dry powder on top and it’s a perfect combo. It looks airbrushed… Literally!! It has no bad smell either. This is also not tested on animals, that’s a huge one for me! Try this! You won’t be disapointed.
Didn’t work for me
After reading the reviews, I was interested in trying this product. I purchased one from a local store. I got the light shade since I have fair skin. It kind of look ashy on my skin. It doesn’t really matches my skin tone.
I had extremely high hopes for this BB cream. After wearing liquid foundation in high school, I wanted to switch to these BB creams since they were lighter and provided an even base coat for mineral powder foundation. I had a sample of Smashbox’s BB cream from Sephora that I had tucked away in my makeup drawer and only just used it 4 months ago for my sister’s wedding. I LOVED it! I have oily, combination, acne-prone skin. I tend to break out a lot on my chin, forehead and lower cheeks (T-zone plus more). The Smashbox stuff matte-ified my complexion, stayed all night, set my mineral powder on top of it, didn’t cause my skin to break out, evened out my tone, and covered my blemishes. Then I saw how much a full bottle was going to cost. I was not prepared to hand over that much for a small 1.7 oz bottle.I quickly jumped online and researched what other BB creams would work for acne-prone skin, was similar to Smashbox’s and fit my budget. After reading all the wonderful reviews for this Pond’s one, I was sold. Another reviewer even mentioned the light shade (I too use Bare Mineral’s Original Foundation in Fairly Light) so I thought the color would be perfect. Wonderful size for the price and a little goes a long way. Only too soon did I discover that this little Cream was going to undo all the years I’ve spent managing and FINALLY getting my acne under control. After using it consistently for 5 days before work, I had the WORST breakouts imaginable. I’m talking large, cystic, red, painful acne and a handful of whiteheads all along my chin and jawline. It had to have been the BB cream as I had changed nothing else in my face care regimen or makeup routine.I’m very glad it worked for some people and I was totally bummed to have the experience that I did. I’m only now writing this review because I have since stopped using this product and my skin is just finally clearing up from it.
Seeks out fine lines and wrinkles and is greasy
I got mine as a sample from another site.Even though my complexion is light/medium, I figured I’d give this Light sample a try today since I was basically just staying home….just to see how it wore.Well…before I had my entire face done, I already had lines of product showing up in my fine lines as well as in my not-so-fine lines. I won’t wear anything that does that. It also had a greasy feel to it which I don’t like.I go to wash it off my hands. I lather. Lather again. Lather a third time before the stuff rinses off. I can’t wait to see how long it takes me to get my face clean this evening. Not impressed.Oh…the light seems to be only a bit light for me. I would think that the medium would be too dark. If you have a light/medium complexion and want to try this, I’d recommend trying to find a sample or store display that will allow you to test it first.
A Game-changer in Drug Store Makeup
This foundation will change your mind about drug store makeup. I’m kind of a snob about foundation. I can buy blush, eye shadow, mascara, even powder in the drug store, but I have never thought that drug store foundation was as good as the expensive stuff I purchase in the department store at the cosmetics counter. But this is a really fabulous foundation.I ordered the Light Shade, and it goes on beautifully. But most makeup does that. It’s what happens after eight hours that tells the tale. This foundation holds up very well to my working day. It doesn’t fade or change color. It isn’t cake-y. It takes blush and powder well. I just really like it.I am a middle-aged woman with combination skin. I still get a pimple or two once in awhile, but I also have dry patches. This makeup covers, stays on for the long run and works well with my skin texture. It doesn’t settle into my crow’s feet, and doesn’t cake up around my mouth or neckline.I am very impressed, and would match this product against a department store foundation. Highly recommended.
LOVE this beauty balm! A total time saver!!!!
I absolutely LOVE this product. I have rosacea and very pale skin and it is often hard to find makeup that will help disguise the redness but not make me look like I’m wearing a mask. This BB cream works like a DREAM. First, it has eliminated from my morning get-ready-for-work routine my need for: sunscreen, concealer, base, powder, and bronzer. I literally just use this BB cream and look fabulous. It does make your skin have a warm glow like you’ve used bronzer, but it matches my fair complexion perfectly. It totally covers up the redness in my cheeks, but blends amazingly well and makes my skin look smooth. I have gotten numerous compliments on my skin since I started using this product. It really is worth a try if you are looking to simplify your getting-ready-in-the-morning routine and want to feel confident and look great. I realize it seems like I’m going on about it, but I truly haven’t found a product of this type that I like half as much. Highly recommended!
I received this product complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.I have been using Pond’s BB+ Cream for two weeks now and I am IN LOVE! I will never again go back to wearing(buying) individual concealer and foundation.I don’t take long to do my makeup, I’m done with everything in about 15 minutes. With this Pond’s BB+ Cream I am now done with doing my makeup in 10 minutes. This cream has cut down 5 minutesof my time which is awesome when your always busy and on the run. I have two kids and one being a active 3 year old. Less time is a plus for me.Pond’s BB+ Cream conceals all the imperfections making my skin look flawless. It has also faded the dark spots on my face. I have freckles under my eyes and on the bridge of my nose, normally I have to have concealer, foundation, and powder to cover them. However with Pond’s BB Cream they are covered in one application. This stuff really WORKS!It has a SPF 15 also so that your skin is protected while wearing it. It goes on smoothly and evenly, no greasy feeling, and it has a fresh matte finishthat makes your skin really soft to the touch. Its also lightweight so that you don’t have that feeling on your face that you get with some other foundations. Also I have problems with other foundations making my face oily and shiny soon after applied, Pond’s BB cream does NOT do that!!! No shine or oil at all!I love using this having a concealer, dark spot eraser, and foundation all in one. Where has this product been all my life! For now on this is what I’m using and will continue to buy. Amazing product!!!! 5 Stars from a very happy customer!
Not my new “go to moisturizer’ with tint.
This fairly pricey luminous finish BB by Pond’s (a company which is an old favorite of mine) doesn’t do much for me.I did chose the light shade, which is what my skin requires. However, the light shade1) is too orangey in color for a fair red head with pink undertones to her skinand2) provides very little to no luminosity.I would grab this last out of my arsenal of make up products. It is good in that it does have some moisturizing effects going on.However, they are not valuable enough to defray the poor performance of this product.I need something less tacky feeling, silkier, and better at “evening out” my 62 year old skin.Possibly younger people than I would find this a good starter moisturizing base for their skin.It is not anything to bring out the clarion calls of”Great New Product” for any person of any age however, in my opinion.Pond’s should definitely keep trying! They have a great history as an excellent health and beauty product company.I have always loved Pond’s. I hope they work on this product, get it glowing and get it all happening here! Thanks, jean
I’ve always had pretty good skin, so I’ve never been one to use primer or a BB cream. A good moisturizer before foundation has always been my thing; I was glad of a chance to try a BB cream, just to see what all the hype was about.Pond’s isn’t exactly a brand I’d choose to try a new cosmetic concept, but I was pleasantly surprised. The scent of the cream (my shade is fair) is pretty, and the coverage is light with a nice luminescence. By itself, it’s probably not enough coverage, but it adds a nice glowy touch over moisturizer.I’m probably going to have to fool around with this a little more to figure out how it works best for someone with my type of skin. Fun thing to try; even better if you have more to cover up than I do!
Great product especially for the price
I’ve been hearing reviews of BB creams that make them sound like magic, so I wanted to try one. This one promised visible dark spot reduction in two weeks, so that was intriguing. But it’s not an actually lightener- nothing in it that could do that- but because it’s got sunscreen in it, your skin has a chance to get rid of the dark spots on its own by being protected from more UV rays.Right out of the container, it doesn’t look like it could be ‘luminous’ – looks pretty opaque and chalky- but once it’s on the skin, it blends out and disappears and really *does* give the skin a glow. It’s not got the pigment a foundation would, but it’s enough coverage for a casual day look for me- and I’ve got seriously blotchy skin. It’s a nice look. It looks quite dark coming out of the tube, too, but once on the skin it disappeared and was perfect for my super pale skin. The product has a lighter feel than sunscreens; even Dry Touch leaves more stickiness than this product does. You could easily apply blush over it without having too much stick to your face. I even used it on my eyelids with no problem. It’s a very nice cream, and the price is very reasonable for it.
“Luminous” is Accurate
BB creams, for those who are unfamiliar with them, are combination moisturizers that generally contain a tint and a sunscreen. The sunscreen protection varies among products. Pond’s BB cream is a very reasonably priced alternative to expensive department store brands, but is equally as good… perhaps better. I had previously used a department store brand BB cream, and the Pond’s compared very favorably and even surpassed the expensive cream in terms of ease of application.Pros:- The cream is described as having a “luminous finish” and indeed it does. It gives the skin a nice glow which helps create the look of evenness.- Sunscreen protection – The Pond’s BB cream contains a broad spectrum SPF 15 sunscreen to protect skin from sun damage- Tint – the slight tint of the product evens out skin tone- Ease of application – this cream spreads very easily and was simple to apply- Doesn’t clog pores – therefore good for younger people or those prone to blemishesCons:- The tint is very sheer. If you need more coverage you will need to follow this with an application of regular makeup, or you might be better off with a CC cream (color correcting).- Coverage is light. If you are young (ie: 20’s) and don’t need much coverage, this should be fine as an all in one product. If you are older, this may just be another cream you end up adding to your regimen.- Not great for dry skin – you may need to start out with a plain moisturizer first if you have dry or very dry skin because this product is not highly moisturizing. All in all a very good product. Note: the “light” shade is VERY light. If you are not extremely fair, you should consider using a darker shade.*** This review written by my wife.Important:Read the EWG Skin Deep analysis for this product. Its overall score is “5” (“moderate hazard”), but there is a specific concern about the fragrance formulation. The other ingredients are lesser concerns. Make your own assessment and compare vs. other products.
I have a hard time buying foundation, bb creams, and the like OTC at the mass merchandise stores because I’m very pale.In the olden days, I was stuck having custom blended foundation from Prescriptives…but eventually, L’oreal came out withits Alabaster shade that I could wear. Garnier’s BB cream was too dark, so I used Sonia Kashuk’s Ivory tinted moisturizer. Ididn’t know if this would work or not for me. It did! I may just be lucky because I’m a little darker than normal, being thatit’s the end of summer…but it blended very well. Looked great and lasted throughout the day. Yippee!
Great Coverage for a BB Cream
I enjoyed this product and will definitely buy it in the future. It goes on very smoothly, has a great scent and has great coverage for a BB Cream.BB Stands for Beauty Balm. BB creams are an all-in-one type of product that can replace several products such as moisturizer, primer, foundation and sunblock – though each BB Cream can advertise what they help with, so read the package. This product claims to be formulated to have tone correction and give you luminous coverage plus with a nice SPF 15. In addition the product claims to help correct dark spots in 2 weeks. I am 32 years old and do not have any dark spots on my skin yet, so I am unable to verify if this claim was accurate or not.I was debating between the light and the medium color. Because fall is approaching I opted for the light color. To compare what color foundation I have used in the past it has beenBare Escentuals Bare Minerals ORIGINAL SPF 15 Foundation (Fairly Light)andUrban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Makeup 3 1 ozwhich both I have been professionally matched to my skin tone. The color was great. It really evened out my skin tone and I appreciated the SPF 15 in the product. The other BB Cream I have used in the past has beenStila Stay All Day 10-In-One HD Illuminating Beauty Balm With Broad Spectrum SPF 30 1.3 ozwhich I paid nearly $40 for and I had to say, I liked the Ponds product better and it is half the cost! Also the smell is wonderful. Has a very light flower type smell to it. Once you put it on, you do not have any scent at all so people that are sensitive to secant do not worry.
Face Cream with added protections
My face was slightly lighter and I am dark skinned. I liked the creamy texture. Not so much smell. I have big face. Used allot each application. Feels soft. I think it was absorbed quickly enough so I can put my shirt back on without smudging my face too much.
big fan of pond’s facial sunscreens
I’m a big fan of the Pond’s facial sunscreens and moisturizers.I decided to review this tinted one. Instead of making my face look white, like the zinc-based sunscreen I usually use, this makes it look, well, skin tone.If you heap it on, it appears more like makeup, but with a light coat it disappears, leaving an even appearance. I think it may hide the scar on my forehead a little.I like these sunscreens because they are not greasy, but seem to look good by giving your skin just a little bit of shine.I also love the size and design of the container. The top stays on even when travelling. It is flat and fits in my bags easily when I travel.Recommended.
Pond’s Luminous Finish BB Plus Cream (with SPF 15) is an great makeup! The scent is light, but clean. The texture is creamy and a little thick (which is nice). Often it seems like some creamy makeup is watered down, or you need to keep putting on makeup in order to feel like it is doing it’s job. This goes on very easy and is simple to blend into your skin. It does NOT feel heavy in any way. The tube stands easily on it’s top to help make sure all the makeup drains to the applicator (although this is not necessary, but a nice feature when it runs low). The color for the makeup I have is “light shade” which was a fine match for my fair to beige skin tone. Considering this makeup blends easily I don’t feel as though an “exact” match (like those at makeup counters) is necessary. This has SPF 15, which works great for protection in summer and winter, especially for daily protection. I cannot find a single complaint on this product.
Nice, but not terribly “light”
I’m very fair, and while this is a nice product (though I need to finish it off with powder to keep from looking excessively oily), the “light” shade is definitely too dark for me — a common problem.I do find the consistency and coverage to be just about ideal, though, and if there were a paler shade, I would definitely continue using.
It’s okay, it blends well but has no staying power (I guess that is probably typical of BB creams, but still). It has SPF and is alright but not the best BB cream that I’ve ever tried and I will continue to search for the best one out there.
Replaces my foundation
I picked this up because I liked the idea that it removed spots, and now I use Ponds Luminous Finish BB Cream with a little concealer in place of light foundation. It doesn’t get chalky like other BB Creams I’ve tried. Over time I’ve also noticed a small improvement in my skin’s tone even without makeup. I don’t like a heavy foundation look so this BB Cream is perfect for me. My only complaint is that if I don’t use a moisturizer, my skin feels VERY dry, but I had to rack my brain to come up with that. I’ve recommended this to friends and family.
Very good foundation/skin corrector
Over the years, I’ve tried to simplify my beauty routine by combining products I use to protect my skin with “finishing” products like powder or foundation. I’ve already had a spot of skin cancer removed, so I try to be careful about protection. This cream has worked very well for me in several areas. I did not give it 5 stars, though, because I felt it could have done a little better on the sun protection front as it is only SPF 15. SPF 15 is basically what you get from ANY makeup at all, e.g. foundation, cream, or powder, so it’s really not that good. However, it does not irritate my skin, either, and a lot of higher SPF products feel as if they are “burning” my skin, so perhaps the lower SPF is better. On the pro side:* Excellent coverage – in fact, this is one of the few products that actually seems to help cover the large pores on my nose. Even mineral makeups don’t work so well for that. A lot of other BB products also don’t cover that well.* Excellent tone correction – it really has improved the appearance of my skin, particularly splotches. I am very, very pleased with the improvements, which I started seeing about a week after I started using the cream.* Not oily looking – many “luminous finish” BB creams just leave you looking a little oily. I love the finish this product produces. It is smooth and beautiful without making my fair skin look oily.I really like this product – I don’t have to use any other face cream, sunscreen, or powder. One last thing that I forgot to mention: it leaves a nice finish that easily accepts a bit of powder blusher without streaking. I’ve used other BB creams that produced such a damp/oily finish that applying any blusher except a cream blusher didn’t work because it streaked. So all-in-all, I really loved this product. It is a great time-saver and excellent for traveling where you need to reduce the number of things you are packing.
Good Starter BB Cream
This is the best domestic BB Cream that I have tried so far. It reminds me of Skin 79’s Light Pink BB Cream. It doesn’t offer much coverage, it is something good for the rest of your makeup to rest on. I did wear it out on its own and it wasn’t nearly as oily as sayGarnier Skin Renew Miracle Skin Perfector Bb Cream, Combination To Oily Skin, Light/Medium, 2 Fluid Ouncewas for me. It does had a light sheen to my skin. (My skin is sort of combination, but I pay the most attention to my forehead, cheeks and nose, where things can get oily). It did a good job of lessening the visibility of the darker patches of skin under my eyes, but it isn’t the most long lasting BB Cream I’ve used either. Without other makeup on it, its effects don’t last the full day.I did also like how it was a thicker BB Cream, as in actually creamy and not just foundation coming out of a tube, the way I have often seen.I would say this is a good starter BB Cream, as long as you don’t want it to do too much for you. Something good to put on in the morning for an extra little boost and SPF coverage.
Really does what it says it will
This was my first experience with a “BB cream,” after seeing a thousand commercials about their miraculous properties. Holy cow, it’s for real! It’s like a tinted moisturizer, but it somehow blends and smooths your complexion. The “Light” version is not at all white or pasty. It leaves a luminous finish, and then all I have to use with it is a touch of Bare Minerals Mineral Veil… and I am 50 years old. This stuff makes me look 30. Or so I like to believe. HA.I am definitely, positively, ABSOLUTELY buying this in the future. NO DOUBT.
I like to take a break from foundation but still want my skin to look good. This product provides a fresh finish and SPF 15 sun protection. Out of the tube it looks more like foundation than other BB creams I’ve tried and I was concerned that the color would be too dark for my fair skin. But those concerns were quickly allayed. The product applies smoothly leaving my skin looking and feeling fresh and smooth. It enhances, covering small imperfections and evening tone. It does not feel heavy or greasy and I suffered no reactions to it. There is a light, floral fragrance. I prefer unscented cosmetics but the fragrance does diminish. This is a quality product at a reasonable price. If you want to look polished without the heavy foundation, this cream is worth a try. Recommended.
BB creams are great!
I have been using Skin79 Super BB cream (a Korean brand) which I also buy on Amazon. It’s great at covering up red spots and has an SPF of 25. I use it instead of make up now and it also promises “wrinkle improvement”. I wanted to try the Pond’s because I have very fair skin and this came in “light”. I like it too, although its SPF is only 15 and it doesn’t promise wrinkle improvement. It goes on smoothly and blends in with my skin. The coverage is less than that of the Super BB cream though and even though the Super BB cream comes out looking quite dark it seems to harmonize with my fair skin as I spread it around and looks just fine – very natural – hardly as though I’m wearing make up. So, both are good but for Rosacea (of which I have a mild case) I think the Super BB Cream gives better coverage. What I love though about both is being able to use just one product for foundation, sun protection, and (possible) wrinkle improvement.
Great BB Cream!
I had switched to tinted moisturizer over a liquid foundation in the last couple of years because I couldn’t stand the heaviness of liquid foundation. The issue with this was sometimes I needed a little more coverage than a tinted moisturizer provided, and being so fair skinned, I always need sun protection (seriously 10 minutes in the sun and I am BURNT!). That’s where this BB cream comes in. It is like the genius love child between a liquid foundation and a tinted moisturizer, providing the perfect balance between coverage, protection, and care!I received this item in an influenster voxbox for testing, and I am SO glad I did!I will be buying this again and again!
this is my all time go-to BB cream
this is the product i reach for when i want natural, light, and worry-free coverage. i apply small dots of this all over my face and then blend with real techniques’ expert face brush. it applies seamlessly onto my skin and provides just the right amount of coverage without that smothering mask feeling that foundations can bring. it can be a bit shiny (hence the luminous finish) as i have combination skin, so i set it with a light dusting of pressed powder. i will repurchase this many times over.
Really like this product
This is a great product that works to make skin radiant and luminous. It doesn’t take a lot of the product to work, you only need a small amount for good coverage, and the shade really fits my English Rose complexion, while covering imperfections perfectly. It has a really good texture to it, thick and luxurious, but light feeling on the skin: you can barely tell you’re wearing the product. AND it comes in a cute pink tube – what’s not to love!
Ok BB cream
Right up front I’ll say I didn’t see any dark spot correction. Maybe the few I have now that I’m pushing 60 aren’t the kind this is supposed to diminish. It does have a nice consistency and light coverage. I was worried that it would be too shiny but its not. Overall there was no improvement to my complexion but it didn’t cause any problems either.
