soothing spa toy
The concept is a great idea, but like Zsu Zsu Pets, it’s a fad, and poorly designed. After being put together, it does come apart easily, and really all you’re doing is putting your feet into a bunch of colorful beads. It’s fun for smaller children, but not made for kids older than 10, or those with bigger feet than a 10 year old. This feels good to the foot, but does not work like a real soothing spa would, with jets, and all the bells and whistles. This is just a toy, so if you are expecting it to release stress from your child, it won’t. It’s made for the fun feel of the beads and that’s it. Save your money on this one, it’s like any other toy with beads, you need constant refills, and heaven forbit those little buggars spill on your floor, good luck picking them up! Not recommended for children under three. Choking hazard.
Great fun and easy to use!
I don’t understand the bad reviews. This is such a delightful toy. My three girls ages 7-11 put this together and set it all up independently. They added the salt, played with it for hours, strained the orbeez, and stored them with fresh water in an air tight container. They pulled it out again the next day, strained out the cold water, added warm water, and used it again. This was all without adult intervention. It has brought great fun to my girls and provides a nice sensation on their feet. I highly recommend this toy.
Don’t Waste Your Money
I saw all the bad reviews for this, but my daughter really wanted it for X-mas, so I took a shot on it anyway. The motor didn’t work at all. Never even turned on. It was too late to return it because my daughter had already opened all the orbees. The Orbees are the only reason I give it two stars instead of one. My daughter likes how they feel on her hands and feet and is still playing with it despite the motor not working. On my end though, I find them messy and annoying. They overflow out of the tub and are slippery so they are hard to gather back up. If you have smaller children they could easily become a choking hazard.
If you’re having problems with the rotating disk . . .
Orbeez Soothing Spa was my seven year-old daughter’s number one Christmas wish. So far, it’s been everything she’d hoped for. She assembled it herself, but the rotating disk would rotate very slowly or get stuck. I disassembled it and found that there is a notch on the tub that the disk unit must slide onto. Once the disk is on properly, it spins freely without problems. I suspect many complaints about this product are because of this assembly error. My daughter and I have both used this product. She put every single packet into the toy at once and it fills the tub up. I can’t put my feet all the way in or else the orbs spill all over the place, but she can do it. It’s quite a sensation, and the waterfall effect of the orbs is hypnotic.
My daughter has been asking for this spa for over a year. I was unable to purchase locally and could not see what it looked like. It arrived early, was $15 less than my local stores advertised price. It is actually quite nice and I look forward to being pampered in "the spa"
I order this for my baby on her birthday. She and her friends love it. But of course it made a mess in the house, then they were eventually thrown out (LOL!)
