For Natural Hair Care
I use this product to seal my natural hair during the winter..it does wonders!! I have woken up in the morning with an itchy scalp due to the dryness that cold weather brings. I have a tight curl pattern after transitioning to natural hair. As part of my hair care regime, I mix aloe vera gel, NOW Foods Vegetable Glycerine and a bit of MSM powder in a spray bottle. The Glycerine acts like a sealant on my hair, not too greasy or oily. It definitely stops the itching (along with the Aloe Vera gel too). I recommend this product and keep it around all winter.
[UPDATE: 7/29/12] I can’t use this product anymore…
[UPDATE] I have just about stopped using this product. It worked like a dream on my hair for a couple months (see below), but now something has changed. I put it into my hands and it burns; I can literally feel the palms of my hands heating up. I thought it might just be me so I have tried this on several occasions. I actually even put it on the tip of one of my fingers and it immediately began to heat up. I’m not sure if something has corrupted my glycerin, like heat or something like that, but I can’t use it anymore. I just don’t know what happened. [End of Update]I mix about 20-25% Glycerin with about 75% water (and a little bit of Castor Oil and DooGro)in my spritz bottle and my afro is a soft dream. You really don’t need a lot of this product to make your hair soft. My afro used to be coarse and felt carpet-like, but now it feels softer. I love this and will definitely be using it in the future.

I don’t know IF is this website is acting up OR aol??.just can’t finish my post??? ALL I KNOW IS..I just tried to answere to all of you that posted me nor, get through with my messages back to you???…..Very strange to say the least!!..????
WHY DID I WASTE MY MONEY??
This is so heavy, greasy, and thick! I can’t use this on my hair or skin without huge problems… I am so upset I bought this.
I do not recommend this product. Never in my life have I ever tasted so disgusting.I originally bought this to glaze my homemade doughnuts, but that was a mistake. :[
Makes the Best Face Scrub Ever
I love this stuff. It is exactly what it says it is. A quality product with no smell or irritating additives.I mix it with an equal amount of regular white sugar and a squirt or two of aloe, and it makes the best face scrub on the planet. I use it for about 2-3 days once a month, and it makes my skin look and feel like I’ve just gone to the spa and had a great facial. It’s definitely a little harsh in that it takes off a good layer or two of skin, so I wouldn’t use it everyday on your face, but still…AMAZING stuff! And, it’s pretty addictive. I went through my entire first bottle FAST b/c I started using it to scrub my arms and legs too! Leaves them feeling completely silky.
Great for moisturizing hair
Add this to rose water and optional aloe vera gel and you’ve got moisture for your hair.
Goopy, sticky, irritates my skin
I liked it at first, but it is never completely absorbed by your skin. Meaning you end up with kind of a greasy, sticky layer on top of your skin. On top of that, it seemed to clog up the skin on my chest and cause some breaking out. Not a fan. And I kept it slightly more than one month, I can’t return it. Great. I hope I cause at least one person to not buy it. Dumb return policy.
Great for natural hair recipes
I have been mixing shea butter and oils in my natural hair care recipes and noticed that they were not quite the consistency I wanted. Also, they were not helping me to retain the moisture I needed throughout the day. After researching this product’s many uses, I purchased it mainly to add to my moisturizing sprays and spritzers for me and my daughter. I have noticed a major difference in terms of how my hair retains moisture throughout the day. It acts as a humectant (like honey) pulling moisture towards the hair shaft. One thing to note, this product is not supposed to be used as an oil or other topical hair treatment. It should be mixed with water (equal amounts) so that the molecules in the glycerin are attached to water molecules when applied to hair. Always research your mixes and make sure that you do not cause any damage to your tresses by under moisturizing.
Quick in perfect condition
I had no problem with my order, the time frame shipped and quality of the product. Thank you. 🙂
This is ok…
I use this mixed with water in a spray bottle to add moisture to my very dry hair. 70% water, 30% vegetable glycerin. I really don’t see too much of a difference, but will keep using it because I’ve been told that there are other benefits for my hair.
I love this Glycerin!!!
I purchased this product, but not from Amazon. This product is great. I keeps my hair and scalp moisturized. I wear braids and boy did this come in handy. I made a mixture of this product alone with other products and it’s fabulous. I am now on my second bottle in two months.
loves my baby’s skin
i bought this with a few ideas in mind. one was to use as a body oil on my 9 months pregnant belly. i got the itch. also i like to put it on my feet and then put on some fuzzy socks to keep my feet soft. also makes a great cuticle oil, and i put some in my frizzy hair & got a nice soft shine. the bottle is huge so i can use it for so many differnt things!! my 18 month old had a really strange rash on her legs. also, she gets diaper rashes very easily. i’ve switched to cloth wipes, and using burts bees diaper cream (which works well, but hasnt prevented rashes) so i did some research on what i could use on her skin. what i ended up doing is mixing witch hazel, water & vegetable glycerine in a spray bottle, and using it each diaper change. i also rub the veg glycerine on her legs after her bath, and it has seemed to help take away the itch & the rash is residing after only a few days. i’m very happy withthis product!! i also think that amazon has the best price, i’ve seen this product at whole foods, mothers & henry’s market and they sell it for a bit more. some reviews complained about the length of time it took to recieve the bottle, but i recieved mine a day before i expected it. love it & will continue to use it & order from amazon. 🙂

Believe what others wrote!!
I’ve recently been using a lot of acetone to remove my nail polish and my GF recommended glycerine. I’ve decided to shop via Amazon since I don’t want to drive around hunting for it. I’ve read the many reviews and I’m glad I bought this!! I’ve tried many lotions (thick, thin types of lotions) during cold winters (30-60 degrees) to remedy my dry itchy skin. So far I’ve been using it right after my shower and my dry spot on my arm has disappeared. I’ve also used this on my hair and my face!! I have combination/oily skin, but it depends on the weather. During winter months its combination/oily with dry patches which causes my skin to break out because my skin is trying to find the natural oil balance and so my skin freaks out. I’ve tried so many products and none has done the job right. So far it has worked. I spritz it on after using my cleanser and toner and so far so good! I’m asian and I have long med/thick black hair. I wash with my shampoo, towel dry my hair, spritz away, and/or blow dry or air dry my hair. It feels so soft after using this. Also, I use this after painting/cleaning my nails to prevent dry cuticles, etc dry skin peeling. No problems, works great!!!(Spray mix: I use a 3oz spray bottle I found at Target. Fill 2/5th of the bottle with glycerin and the rest with water. You could do 1/3 glycerin but it’s my first time using it and I rather do less to start off)
Wow! I’ve only been using this on my hands for a few days but the difference is amazing!I bought this to mix in a clay mask, and a rosewater toner, but when I read other reviews about it being good for moisturizing, I gave it a try. And boy, am I glad I did!I just use the tiniest drop after I wash my hands and they are so soft now, like baby soft. I like to keep touching them. Before I was using an oil blend, and then pure olive oil, but those didn’t seem to penetrate as well as this glycerin. And my poor hands were getting so dry and cracked from the weather, and from my constant washing. Now they look a lot better and feel a lot better too.
Great add in for moisture in lotion
I mix this with my everyday lotion. It is wonderful in keeping my skin hydrated. I would recommend this for every other day use. Good for nails and scalp. I also use vitamin E on my skin.
I have dry skin & I have to use moisturizer in all the season whether it is cold or hot. This glycerine leaves my skin smooth & silky. I love it.
Good value for the size.
Not sure how effective it is, I use it my soapmaking. It was great on size and price so we’ll see. Not sure if I’ll re-order because I can’t tell if it’s just not effective or if I just didn’t add enough of it to the recipe.
worked for what i needed it for
i needed this for a totally unrelated craft project, while it worked for my project i wouldn’t use it as a moisturizer… i found it to be super oily.it also would not mix with my liquid soap (as another user suggested) it separated and now all my pump dispenses is glycerine… i’ll be emptying that out & refilling it with regular soap shortly.i also tasted just a drop as a previous reviewer suggested using it as a sweetener — that stuff tastes HORRIBLE. granted it is a sweet horrible taste, it is still a horrible taste. it’s like what bug spray & splenda mixed would taste like.in summery if you are making a silicone mold & need an additive this will do.. otherwise i can’t imagine why you would buy this product.
Good Vegetable Glycerine!
This is another fine product that I use in conjunction with my Now Castor Oil. I use about a teaspoonful in my shampoo and conditioners. They both work great to give me that healthy, manageable, shiny hair.
Natural is GREAT!
I used this mixed with water as a spritzer for my hair, it is fabulous. I had been using a drugstore brand type glycerine and it did poorly. I even added some to my body moisturizer. Leaves my skin and hair hydrated.
It makes my skin soft
I use this product but I have to mix it with my regular body lotion. I don’t like the way it feels on my skin when I use it by itself, makes my skin feel heavy and sticky. I use Gold Bond body lotion (the one with Shea Butter) and I mix in a little of the vegetable glycering with it. It makes my skin soft, my boyfriend likes the feel and the scent of it. I rated it 4 stars because I can’t use it on its own.
My Hair Loves This Stuff!
I have 3c/4a hair. I HATE having to mess with my hair every day. Unfortunately, if I want to keep the length of it it’s crucial to moisturize daily. I finally took the time to put all my hair into two strand twists, so protective styling is out of the way and I don’t have to worry about styling.I’ve been looking for a light daily moisturizer that will not create a lot of buildup on my hair and last all day. I’d read that glycerin is a humectant so instead of being a moisturizing source it’s main benefit is drawing moisture from the air and sealing it into your hair. I didn’t think this would work for my hair so I’d been avoiding it. On my last order I accidentally left this in my cart :-/.What a happy accident! Since I had it I decdied to give it a shot. I took a 4 oz spray bottle and put in maybe 3/4 oz of glycerine, then the rest filtered water. A few drops of lavender oil for scent and some Jamaican Black Castor Oil because I wanted a heavy oil to coat and protect my ends and scalp. Oh my goodness….I saw the change on first use. I usually wet my hair in the shower, wrap it in a towel for like 15 minutes after to let the water really absorb into the twists. Whip that towel off and immediately spray all over with this stuff. My scalp is well moisturized but not oily, my hair stays springy and soft all day and there’s a noticeable reduction in frizz. NO BUILDUP on my hair. I thought this would be impossible with the castor oil, but I can press and squeeze these twists all I want….the oil residue on my hair is virtually nonexistent.I LOVE this stuff. My hair is actually absorbing the oil and retaining moisture. I’ve done plain water, coconut oil, aloe vera juice, SheaMoisture and at least a dozen other store bought moisturizing products…..I’ve never had this happen with any of these moisturizing supplements. I don’t feel like I’m drowning my hair in product now which is awesome. Since I use so little glycerin per mix, this bottle will probably last me months and months. Highly recommend for highly texturized hair care!
Not for bubble bath
I got this to make some DIY bubble bath, but I can say it didn’t do it’s job. The bubbles disappeared almost immediately. I also tried to use it to make some of those glitter calm-down jars that are hot on Pinterest right now, and it didn’t keep the glitter suspended at all. The corn syrup worked much better.
I use this for my hair and when I ordered this time I received it in 1 day. I will order from seller again. This is the most moisturizing agent for natural hair. luv it.
This stuff works so much better than my expensive creams from the department store. Glycerin &water mixture + jojoba oil is all you need for dry skin.
Millions of uses!
I originally bought this to make a makeup finishing spray. I started to look into its uses and now I seem to use it for a dozen different things! Not only do I use it for my spray, I also use it for my hair and its helped my dry scalp and stopped my hair loss. My hair is now healthier and growing again. I also use it as a moisturizer. It makes my skin so soft after it dries. The list goes on and all I have to say is its a must have beauty item!
Great moisturizer, not recommended for use in desert though
As a new natural, I heard quite a few positive things about vegetable glycerin. I had always been curious of what glycerin was anyhow, noticing that it’s the main ingredient in most “moisturizing” products. I took a chance and ordered it. Didn’t work out in the high desert (usually less than 20% humidity) when it came to my hair. It worked for my skin however, which I thought strange. I moved to Los Angeles 4 months later, and decided to give it another try. Success! I now use this in my creamy shea butter mix, homemade deep conditioning mix, and on my skin immediately after the shower. In any application, I only use 1-2 drops. It works great as a small addition (remember only 1-2 drops to your product!) for a wash-and-go. Keeps your tightly coiled curls soft and moisturized, reducing breaking. This bottle will probably last me up to 1 year. This included making gift products for the ladies in my family! Try it.
Love My Glycerin!
I use glycerin all over my body! This product is incredible. I mix it and use it on my face, hands and body. I’ve mixed it with coconut oil, olive oil and castor oil (because castor oil is so THICK and difficult to spread—glycerine gives it ‘glide’).I use the glycerine in the shower after I’ve washed my hair and added conditioner (Pantene for curly hair) I use a quarter size in my palm and spread it all over my hair. Then I squeeze the excess of both products out and I’m ready to go.This glycerine will always be apart of my ‘whole body’ beauty regime. For soft skin, hands and hair!
