Potent ingredients, but broke me out
It has all the ideal sunscreen properties:*Broad spectrum*Physical sunscreen*Potent anti aging ingredientsUnfortunately it is not for my skin (sensitive, combo, dehydrated), this sunscreen is uncomfortable to wear: too oily, doesn’t go too well with makeup due to oiliness, slightly burns, especially around the cheek area where my skin is thinner, not only when I apply it I feel uncomfortable, my face also develop mild redness when I wash it off at night. I can get over all of these if my skin condition improved with regular use, but it broke me out, I tried it a many times over 5 months and almost every time I get new break outs. This sunscreen is not suitable for sensitive skin, the better options are: Elta MD Physcial Clear and Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence.
Beware, the tube has shrunk
I have been buying NIA24 each spring for about four years. It has always come in a 3.4 ounce size. What a shock this year when it arrived and the tube looked so small. It looks smaller, because is is smaller. The tube is now 2.5 ounces. Since I wasn’t expecting the size to change, I didn’t check my old tube to see how many ounces it was. The product is wonderful, but I am not happy paying more money this year than last year, and getting less product. NIA24 deserves five stars, but I give it only three stars due to the surprise of the smaller tube.
too greasy for me and leaves a white cast
I wanted to love it. It’s a physical sunscreen, no parabens, has pro-Niacin, but no matter how quickly I applied it, or how sheer I applied it, it always left a white cast on my face. I have medium tan skin so a lot of sunscreens leave a white cast but still.I also have combination skin; very dry cheeks, with slightly oily t-zone. I always ended up with a greasy looking face. I’m currently using Mychelle’s Sun Shield SPF 28 which is a bit better.
Good for Light Skin Tones
I switched to a mineral sunscreen after finding that chemical sunscreens were to harsh for my face. I’m light skinned African American and this works well for me. However if I look really closely I can see the outline along my hairline where I’ve applied the sunscreen. I don’t think it’s noticeable to anyone else, but I would be wary if I had darker skin. I may end up switching during the summer when my skinned is tanned. Also this goes on best if you apply it immediately after washing your face while your skin is still moist. I apply it directly on top of my usual moisturizer and it blends easily. If I let my skin dry completely before applying it, it’s much harder to rub in. And I agree with one of the other reviewers that it can leave your skin a feeling a little chalky, but it’s not bad for me as long as it doesn’t look that way.
I love this sunscreen, I actually switch from my beloved Image during the summer due to the niacin in this product and it helps lighten skin discoloration very well! Goes on smooth, soft, and smells great.
