I purchased this product because of the reviews however I was very disappointed. I used the light to neutral and it went on very chalky, not natural. It settled into the fine lines of my skin and did not retain any moisture but became dried out. I have normal skin, it is not excessively dry or oily. I’m 42, however I look about 32, this product did nothing for me. It did not make my skin look better but worse over time. The coverage was good initially but because I had to keep applying moisturizer the coverage was wiped clean. A tinted moisturizer should moisturize your face, that is one of it’s main functions. Estee Lauder Day Wear is a superior product, giving a natural glow as well as sufficient moisture. It doesn’t offer as much coverage but this coverage is no good if you have to keep applying moisturizer. It defeats the purpose. This will be going straight into the trash.
Just Not for Hot Weather Use…
Neutrogena Healthy Skin Enhancer, Ivory To Fair, is a light-weight, multi-purpose product which combines moisturizer with a hint of color. I was looking for something that I could use on my more mature skin. I need a moisturizer, but also wanted a product that would provide light coverage to even out my skin tone and minimize pores. Further, I didn’t want to spend a fortune on something. After reading reviews, I decided to give this product a try.Neutrogena Healthy Skin Enhancer, Ivory To Fair, is liquid enough so that no more than two presses of the top are necessary to get enough, but not too much, product for even application. This enhancer is not so fluid that the product runs when being applied. It does a nice job of minimizing pores, but does not give one a mask-like appearance. It can be used without an additional foundation product and does provide enough moisturizing properties to prevent flaking in dry-skin areas.Neutrogena Healthy Skin Enhancer, Ivory To Fair, might not be light enough in color for individuals who have a true ivory skin tone. It has a bit more color than most ivory foundations and tends toward having beige undertones. It is very good for those fair-skinned individuals who may have a bit of a tan or who consider themselves as having light-olive skin. The fragrance of Neutrogena Healthy Skin Enhancer, Ivory To Fair reminds me of suntan lotion. Since it has an SPF of 20, this may account for the light suntan-lotion scent. I did not find it offensive; and, it was not so strong that my sensitive-to-fragrance spouse noticed it.While Neutrogena Healthy Skin Enhancer, Ivory To Fair, has a number of positive attributes, it also has some characteristics that kept me from awarding it a five-star rating. The product dries in the pump opening, even after only 24 hours between uses. If one forgets to clear the opening, the first push on the pump results in a squirt of product ending up several inches from the target. The biggest drawback to Neutrogena Healthy Skin Enhancer, Ivory To Fair, is that it “puddles” in numerous splotches if one sweats at all. Even a light, “dew-producing” moment causes the wearer to appear to break out in light colored “measles.” If you are at an age where you experience your own “personal summer moments” this is not the product for you. You will experience running streaks all over your face. It is because of this characteristic that I gave Neutrogena Healthy Skin Enhancer, Ivory To Fair, a four-star rating. If I lived in a cooler climate or did not experience occasional “warm” moments, it would have received five stars.
So far I like it
Been using for about a week and so far so good, it hasn’t made me break out. I wouldn’t judge color by the pictures because I would have bought the wrong one if I did. The ivory/fair is the lightest color but the picture makes it look a lot more orange than the fair/light one so I was having trouble deciding which color to choose. I decided to buy it at the store nearby to judge colors better. I have a really hard time finding a color match. 90% of foundations are too dark for me, or too pink, or too orange. The ivory/fair was a perfect match. It does add moisture to my dry skin but it is pretty sheer.
I ordered the Fair to Light tone, and it was way too orange/tan. I don’t know if I received a mislabeled bottle or if this is Neutrogena’s idea of fair skin?? If you have light skin– please skip this product you will be disappointed unless you’re going for the tan face-white body look. Also, not sure if this is a typo but just looked at the product description above the review box and it says "Healthy Skin EnTANcer, Fair ho Light" but when I click on the Amazon link it shows "Skin Enhancer" LOL coincidence?
this product is one of my favs for it doesnt have to be expensive to do the job this item does what it says and at half of the price of many leading cosmetic companies.
Makes me look years younger!
I am generally a huge Neutrogena fan and use many skin care products of this brand, and the Healthy Skin Enhancer has now become one of my favorites! The tint is only very light, so this is not to cover scars or any other skin perfections, but it gives my skin a nice “glow” when I put it on in the morning. When I get up in the morning, I usually look tired, no matter how long I slept, and especially when I am not tanned, it’s worse. This product leaves a very smooth sensation on your skin, and it’s just the perfect combination of a light tint and skin moisturizer. I use it every day and I think I am addicted to it 😉
Winter Skin Rescue
I bought this make-up at the end of the summer when it was still hot and humid outside because I didn’t want to wear a thick foundation. However, I didn’t use it everyday because it tended to make me a bit shiny. Now that winter weather has kicked in, it is a skin saver! My oil prone skin still gets dry and flaky in the winter, and Neutrogena’s Healthy Skin Enhancer has really helped with that. My skin doesn’t feel tight or dry at all, and on days that I’m not as concerned with coverage, it works wonderfully. I just dust loose powder on top to set it, and I’m good to go. Do take note that doesn’t fall under the full coverage category. You can build up coverage, but only to an extent. I haven’t had many breakouts lately, so it is very satisfying.
Good for oily skin, light, comfortable feel
I like this makeup. It is perhaps more aptly called, a tinted moisturizer. The color is sheer and it feels light and comfortable on my skin. I have oily skin, so I am always on the look out for moisturizers and sunscreens that won’t make my skin greasy. This fits the bill in that department.I use a prescription retinoid product at night, and this makeup contains some sort of retinoid ingredient as well. I think that is why it initially made my skin a bit dry. Now, after using it about a month, my skin has adjusted nicely. It seems to help keep my complexion less oily during the day. It has been a long time since I could say that about a makeup or sunscreen!I think I may have to change to a stronger SPF and a product that does not contain additional retinoid ingredients during the summer, since retin-A and it’s relations make skin more prone to sunburn. I’m not sure that this makeup is the ultimate solution for me, but it’s a great option! I will be buying more.
Smells like sunblock
Smells like sunblock which isn’t great but isn’t awful either. Gives a light cover, not heavy, but I also use cover-up in addition so this foundation is fine.
I love this Neutrogena Skin EnTrancer. It goes on smoothly and fits well with my skin tone. I also love that it has spf.
All in one- Makes for radient skin with nutrients and SPF
Not only does this work as a face “concealer” to even out skin tone, it also has nutrients in it and SPF to nourish and protect. It is very light. I put it on with my fingers. And it’s not nearly as expensive as make up I’ve purchased in the past. Love it!
I agree that this is some pretty good stuff. I’m on my second bottle! I’m trying to get my skin up to par so that I won’t have to wear makeup at all, and so far I’m satisfied with just having to use this. It’s very light, like a lotion, but I have to apply it pretty heavily or else I notice some “streaking.” It stays in place well throughout the day, especially on top of the primer I use. It’s only getting 4 stars because I can’t see it actually improving my skin for the long-term. For that, I’m having to explore more expensive products.
Fits my skin well, and it makes my face feel smooth and silky. Hopefully it also protects my face from the sun, as it says it will!
Good product for summer
I bought it in winter and it totally dried my skin out. It highlighted dry skin patches, and my skin looked awful with it. I stopped using it. And just a couple of days ago, it is now end of May and beginning of summer in Arizona, I decided to apply it just to see what it does. In summer my skin tends to get combination of oily and normal. I was thinking that it has SPF 20, it has retinol (which is very good for anti-aging), it has tint, why would not it work on my skin? So I put it on, and voila, my skin looked great, especially my forehead, which gets very oily in summer. So, I recommend this product, especially for people with oily skin, and use a good moisturizer at night when you use this cover.
i can actually tell that my face looks like it glows and looks healthier everytime in put this on i just ran out but i totally am getting more this is good stuff
Perfection! Want it in my life forever!
I’m so happy that I found this skin enhancer. It’s hard to explain what it does but it gives the most natural beautiful healthy glow. I would want to purchase this item forever!! Love it so much
LOOOOOVVVEEE this stuff
I have been using this about 8 months or so now based on the reviews I saw on Amazon. I love it. I don’t wear much makeup normally…but these days with the work I do, I put my face on a lot more. I use this as my "base" because it’s so light and has a little bit of tint to it. I finish it off with my normal bare minerals makeup routine, but this is the step that I have been missing for years!HIGHLY recommend it.
Lightweight yet effective coverage
I never expect much out of a tinted moisturizer, but this one does a very a very nice job of evening my skin tone without making it look made up. Very natural.
Light, matte coverage
A very nice product for light, matte coverage. I’m over 50 and a little worried about makeup accentuating my “wrinkles” but this product works well.
Best Tinted Moisturizer
Based on reviews and comments took the plunge, and am very glad I did. This summer in Texas has been a scorcher and I needed to drastically improve my daily skin care routine accordingly. This SPF 20 tinted moisturizer with retinol doesn’t clog my pores. I get 3 benefits in 1 quick process AND a little goes a long way. IF the pump would work consistently I’d gladly give this 5 stars. I also wish there was a waterproof version as others have mentioned. It provides a natural coverage, no breakouts occurred and my skin feels like it can breath!
Neutrogena makes good stuff …
Neutrogena makes great products for a healthy clean face. But this shade was just a bit too light for me. In the future I will get darker shades.
I’ve been using tinted day cream since a while and I have to say that the Neutrogena Healthy Skin EnTancer (Fair – light) is the winner! I used Lancome, Yves Rocher, Olay but none of these products really matched my skin tone. I have a pale skin tone during the winter but not to the extreme. The texture is awesome, not greasy and not dry, very silky feel on my skin without any bold fragrance. I should give a 4/5 because the pump isn’t the best, but the good side of it is that you don’t end up with too much on your fingers => too much on the face. I used cosmetics with a pump and when it worked too promptly, I often used twice the product that I needed and finished the bottle faster. So the pump is a bit stubborn but for the result, it’s really worth it. It gives me a more healthy and even skin tone. I recommend that product.
Burned my skin something terrible
This foundation doesn’t work for me, I must be sensitive to the ingredients. I used it twice, the first time I noticed a little burning on my face and the back of my hand where I apply it from. The second time my face was burning, red, swollen and blotchy and my hand was blistering. If you have sensitive skin stay away from this!As a foundation it’s rather light and provides light coverage, it’s not really buildable at all because it gets cakey.I’ve used a lot of neutrogena products but this one is a very big miss!
Good moisturizing product with SPF
I’ve been on a cosmetics buying spree lately, and decided to try this as a lightweight alternative to foundation for the winter months. I really like the product so far.The name Neutrogena Healthy Skin Enhancer is exactly right, as it’s more sheer than a foundation, but has a touch more coverage than other tinted moisturizers I’ve tried. It won’t cover blemishes, but it smooths out and evens skin tone while providing just a hint of color. It enhances your skin’s natural appearance without covering it up.When I need more coverage, I apply the Neutrogena first, let it sit on my skin for a few minutes, and then add my Clinique Acne Solutions foundation on top. The Neutrogena Skin Enhancer works really well to counteract the slightly drying effect I get from the Clinique foundation’s salicylic acid. Another thing I like about the Neutrogena Healthy Skin Enhancer is that it doesn’t leave my skin shiny. The SPF 20is another plus for me, and since it’s tinted it doesn’t leave a whitish tone like a regular sunscreen would. I’ve only been using it for a few days, but so far no breakouts. It comes in a pump top bottle, so you don’t get too much at a time, although I really don’t care for pumps because they seem to break easily. We’ll see if this one holds up for as long as the bottle lasts. Also, I can’t speak to how well the Retinol works as an anti-aging ingredient because I haven’t used it long enough. Overall, I think it’s a really good product.
This is advertised as a makeup base, but it’s also a moisturizer that’s tinted. Two came together so one is going into my travel bag. Really love this.
Great sheer foundation, just wish it was paraben & RP free
I have used this foundation for years, as the shade (40) perfectly matches my pinkish-yellowish-neutral face color (my face color is hard to match since I’m mostly neutral but have both slight yellow and slight pink undertones). It blends in very well and provides natural looking coverage. It is sheer so won’t cover blemishes, but I will sacrifice coverage for breathability. It isn’t very moisturizing but that’s not a problem since I always use moisturizer (day and night). I tried putting this on once without moisturizer and it was quite cakey and flaky. I do wish Neutrogena would get with the program and stop using parabens in Retinyl Palmitate in their lotions and cosmetics. Though I love this tinted moisturizer, I’ve stopped using it and switched to another paraben-free brand until Neutrogena finally removes known carcinogens and endocrine disrupters from their products. If you have a difficult to match medium skin color with both pink and yellow undertones and DO NOT mind parabens and RP, this would be an ideal tinted moisturizer for you…just be sure to use primer or moisturizer underneath.
