Made my face dry and peel

I have extremely oily African American skin so I have been exploring different products including everything from soaps, moisturizers, peels, and toners to control the oil. After using this Neutrogena soap for the first time, I noticed my skin was dry so I had to apply more moisturizer than usual. After about a week, my skin had a slight burning sensation and it was so dry in some areas that my skin started to peel. This reaction was bad enough that I discontinued use. About 5 years ago, I tried Neutrogena products for the first time (a moisturizer that was advertised by Gabriel Union), and I had a negative reaction. So, with both experiences at two totally different stages in my life, I have tried Neutrogena and it is not for me. I do not have sensitive skin, so I’m not sure what chemical is in their products that disagree with my skin. I do not recommend.

A wonderful classic!

I’ve been using this soap for a very long time. Very gentle, non irritating, good basic facial soap. If you have a specific problem or special needs skin, ask your dermatologist first, but this has always been a great choice for me and my family. It does melt pretty quickly so if you do use it, make sure to place it in a soap dish that allows the bar to air dry, otherwise it will not last very long. I have a teenager who gets the occasional breakout, but when she uses this, her skin improves very quickly and looks great! Enjoy!

Speaking from an individual with super oily/ problematic/ sensitive skin: I stumbled across this product at the local supercenter and for $2.00 each, I couldnt resist. “Fragrance free! No dyes! NO Detergents! No hardeners! Enriched with Glycerin!” I had to give this a try. After using it for the first time, my current pimples were less red and irritated. My facial skin felt so clean yet still somewhat hydrated. By the next day, the pimples had dramatically subsided. The color of the pimples were beginning to fade. Less and less noticeable marks on my facial skin. My pores are FINALLY clean and free of build-ups. I havent seen my skin this clean and fresh looking since high school. OMG!!! Im so in love! Im going back to the supercenter to grab 5, 6, or maybe even 10 since its $2.00 each. Just in case they discontinue anytime down the line, i’ll be well prepared:)

Love Love Love this for my face

I have really oily skin so I saw this soap mentioned on Dr. Oz and I decided to try it. The soap does not cut down on the oil completely but it does dry my skin out but I really like it and will continue to use it for my face, I have tried other products almost everyone you can think of and this is the best fit I’ve found.Pros-for those of you who really want a soap that is fragrance free this is it-really cleans the faceCons-bars are small so they do not last long

its ok

i dont hate this, but i dont really use it either. it dries my face. i got the unscented kind, which has a very strong glycerin scent. it did not break my out but i much prefer the acne prone version which doesnt dry me out. ps i have very oily skin.

Bad soap for anyone with acne or sensitive skin

Do not buy this soap! It burns and dries your skin like crazy. This was extremely harsh and actually made my acne worse. I’ve also used the fragranced version and it is the same, just harsher. Not pleasant. I would give this 0 stars if I could but unfortunately I can’t. It’s that bad.

I’ve used this product twice so far, and I like it!I’m going through the worst breakout of my life at the moment. No idea what caused it, really.I was using a Cetaphil knock-off beforehand, but I didn’t feel it was really cleaning my face, which would only cause more problems, right?I searched for something not containing Salicylic or Benzoyl. This product has a decent selection of ingredients, and I was intrigued by the reviews! This soap does dry out my face a bit, but I’ve had worse.Partnered with an oil-free moisturizer, I’m already seeing good results!Phew!

Good Old Standby!

This is a great soap for problem skin. My husband uses it all the time and it’s pricier at the stores. I get this shipped every six months and it’s nice to have it handy.

This is wonderful soap for those with skin problems and allergies It is the most pure soap I believe you can buy. Good price for the amount I received.

Great Facial Bar

I suffer from acne and have oily skin. I do use Obagi’s 5% Benzoyl Peroxide TherapeuticLotion to treat and prevent breakouts, but I use this bar to cleanse my skin. I wash everymorning and every evening without fail, and it gets my face very clean. My acne is controlledand scars are fading thanks to this bar and my Obagi.

This soap bar is perfect for my oily, but sensitive adolscent skin! I have tried other facial soaps for my skin type, but none have gotten all the oil off my skin as well. This one is perfect! I didn’t find it drying(trust me, I’m picky about that), my blackheads and mild redness are going down wash my wash, and no residue! This soap is amazingly formulated. I would recommend it for any skin type 🙂 This is the best product I have used in a LONG while. Probably the best buy in skin care I have ever gotten! I got 1 bar for just $2.49 at my local drugstore. I would be suprised to find someone unsatisfied! (With drugstore price and value)

It’s not just for faces

A lot of companies advertise their soap as “fragrance-free” but they’re lying (I’m mostly talking about YOU, Dove). Neutrogena is telling the truth. However, after initially liking this soap, I noticed that my skin felt very dry. I discontinued using it and switched to Cetaphil bar soap (which isn’t entirely fragrance-free, but it doesn’t activate my allergies and it doesn’t seem to make my skin dry).

For Extra Care with Very Sensitive Skin

My mother’s doctor recommended this for her because of her extra sensitive skin in battling exema. It’s extra gentle and good as a face soap if you’re prone to break-outs. I used it for that when I was a teenager.

Fragrance free and clean

Love this soap. It is truly fragrance free unlike Ivory which I used most of my life and now has fragrance. I’m allergic to fragrance so it matters a lot to me that it is clean smelling and without fragrance. Also it doesn’t dry your skin which Ivory had a tendency to do. The downside is that it’s a glycerine soap and it tends to go fast but at Amazon prices I can deal with it.

The only facial bar you should buy.

After years of trying different products this has always been the best for me. From personal experience this works great for those with oily skin and mild acne. Just make sure to use every day.

Very gentle and effective

Neutrogena Original Formula was the soap my dermatologist father washed his hands with between patient appointments, with as many as thirty patients a day. His hands looked great! His use of it sold me on it. That was many years ago. I still find it the best choice, as long as I can let it dry on a soap saver. Amazon sells many of these.

Won’t use anything else

My skin doesn’t like me to use any other cleanser. It’s basic, it’s easy on sensitive skin. It’s never caused a breakout in 20 years. That’s a pretty good track record. There have been times when I’ve been unable to find it, and had to get something * similar * but my skin knew it wasn’t Neutrogena. As soon as I found the real deal the impostor went in the trash.
