Acne , clogs, black heads be warned.. Here I come!

I bought this product after some careful thought and review from other customers and I am glad I made the purchase. It has been effective on my acne prone sensitive skin. I have been using this product in conjunction with the Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Stress Control 3-in-1 Hydrating Acne Treatment and so far the results have been satisfactory. The only con I found with this product is that everyday use lead to some slight irritation. I can attribute that to my sensitive skin and the current cold weather. I do use it every other day and I would recommend this product for effective skin care!

Best benzoyl peroxide treatment, much cheaper than Proactiv

Proactiv is wildly overpriced, but people swear by it – but they’re only really swearing by benzoyl peroxide. I have a regimen that’s actually better, since it provides sun protection when you go outside. Just google – any sort of acne ingredient makes your skin sensitive to the sun, and if you DON’T use an spf every day, you’re at greater risk for skin cancer!Clear Pore is 3.5% benzoyl peroxide in a creamy, calming cleanser. It’s the absolute best and cheapest cleanser for the money. It’s not the greatest mask, though, since it doesn’t have the right ingredients for a mask. Use Clear Pore combined with a 2.5% benzoyl peroxide gel or cream at night – acne dot org works, or Proactiv’s lotion only (which you can buy on Amazon, much cheaper than the Proactiv website). Solvere Acne clearing gel is also 2.5% benzoyl peroxide.Use a sulphur/clay mask once a week (after you’ve steamed your face in the shower or with a hot washcloth held over your face) to really clear things out – either Queen Helene or Proactiv’s mask (also on Amazon, much cheaper than on their website).Be SURE to use a moisturizer in the morning after washing your face (such as Clean & Clear spf 15, Aveeno Positively Radiant spf 15 or 30, or Neutrogena Healthy Defense SPF 45). Use spf 30 if it’s the summer time, and use spf 45 if you live in a very sunny area. These moisturizers are perfect because don’t have titanium dioxide or zinc oxide – two physical sunscreen blockers that cash a white sheen over your face. Beware of Neutrogena Healthy Defense spf 30 – it has titanium dioxide.Always be sure your face has dried for 10 minutes after you’ve patted it dry before you put on your moisturizer, day or night! If your skin is dry or flaky at all, try Purpose Wash at night. It’s clinically shown as gentle as water, but still cleans your face. This regimen works for anyone with mild to moderate-severe acne; it likely won’t work with cystic (multiple huge painful) acne, for that you still need to go to a dermatologist. I developed this regimen after spending far too much money for years on the multi step proactiv. I had moderate acne, now I have one pimple a month with my period! So, to review:AM:Wash: Neutrogena Clear PoreMoisturizer: Clean & Clear spf 15, or Aveeno Positively Radiant spf 15 or 30, or Neutrogena Healthy Defense spf 45PM:Wash: Neutrogena Clear Pore or Purpose WashMoisturize/Treatmentr: Proactiv lotion, acne dot org benzoyl peroxide gel, Solvere Acne Clearing gelWeekly: Proactiv Mask (6% sulphur) or Queen Helene Mint Julep MaskSpot Treatment on a pimple: Neutrogena Clear Pore, either of the masks, Murad spot treatment

NOT for sensitive skin

I’ve used benzy products in moderation before, on small areas. Don’t normally have any issues. I left this on for five mins in the shower and my face has been painfully red and irritated for hours. Doesn’t seem to be subsiding anytime soon :(. Be careful with this product.

ok product

I have sensitive skin so I thought the 3.5% BP wouldn’t irritate my skin as much as Oxy’s 10%. This cleanser didn’t help with my acne nor did it make it worse. I liked that it had menthol in it so it gives a cooling affect as you cleanse. I also notice my skin was turning pale, almost white, so it’s a little disturbing to have a white face and tan body. So I agree that BP does bleach the skin.

Smelled weird

The face wash smelled weird. Ive boughten this from walmart and target many times before, and it smells minty and fresh. But when I got it smelled weird, but I just hold my breathe for 5 secs and use it! other wise its great face wash.

Worked okay but really dried my skin

I used this cleanser primarily for acne control, and in that regard it worked pretty well. I never had any significant breakouts while using it and it did help clear up some of the zits I already had. I also liked the liquid itself — it was thin but not soupy and it was easy to apply and rinse off.The reason that I stopped using it was because it made the skin on my cheeks and nose really dry and tight. It was so bad that even after I stopped using this wash, it took a week of applying and reapplying heavy-duty moisturizer before my skin finally returned back to normal. I know that dryness can be a side effect of benzoyl peroxide but I had previously tried several stronger BP washes without having this problem, so clearly there is something different in this cleanser that is particularly drying.

Fantastic face wash

I am a dermatologist myself who still gets occasional products and I think this face wash is fantastic. What most people don’t realize is that this has 3.5% benzoyl peroxide, which is the same active ingredient as Proactiv (2.5%). All BPO products are drying but they help with inflammatory acne (red painful bumps or pus bumps). There is nothing similar to this product on the market. The closest competitor is Panoxyl which makes (4/5/8/10 % benzoyl peroxide products all of which are too drying). This is a fantastic face wash esp if you use it once a day and combine it with the Neutrogena Oil Free Acne wash (2% salicylic acid). Great for daily use!

Great Cleanser!

Having trouble with acne was just getting annoying with being a confidence downer. Seeing at this is so cheap, and has a whole lot of great reviews I decided to give it a shot. This does have benzoyl peroxide in it, so be aware that there will be drying involved! Your skin will adapt. For a cleanser, this is amazing. I pair this with my Clairsonic Mia, and them together just work together to kick the crap out of acne. I noticed that I now very rarely get breakouts, and when I do they go away in little to no time, and are also very tiny. This has also worked to get rid of almost all of my blackheads. Once I started using this I started seeing an improvement. After a few weeks of use, there is a great improvement! This has gotten rid of the blackheads that I would get on my forehead…which were weird because I would see them one day, and the next day they were now a breakout. Now I never see them!! I love this stuff, but make sure that you have a good moisturizer! Using this will definitely tighten your skin and dry it out which will also make makeup look terrible, if you use makeup, unless you moisturize! As for a mask, this doesn’t really work that well. I didn’t notice anything change when I used it as a mask. One thing to beware!! Do NOT use this as a spot treatment like I did. I decided to try and put it on my pimples and head to bed. Baddddd idea and I’m still paying the price. It burned my skin and now I have to deal with constant flaking and trying to get it to heal. So make sure you don’t do that! Try this out, it is the only thing that has really worked to keep my skin at bay!Products I use in my regimen:Clairsonic MiaNeutrogena Clear Pore Cleanser/MaskDickinson’s Witch Hazel (toner)Clearasil MoisturizerQueen Helene Mint Julep Masque

Clears even the worst break outs!!

Neutrogena tests on animals, which is disappointing, but I won’t let that fact alter my review of this product. This cleanser/mask works amazingly well for cystic acne in addition to small breakouts. My skin is bad enough that I have been on accutane. Just like everyone else, I’ve tried every product and gimmick out there. Aside from prescription drugs, no product has ever cleared my skin like this wash/mask. I was using it for a long time just as a cleanser and occasional mask. Then I tried using it as a mask for multiple mornings in a row and my skin became the clearest it’s been since being on accutane. I literally went from having three or four new cystic blemishes every day to NONE. My skin completely cleared up and my makeup stayed on all day without getting oily. I put it on in the morning without even washing my face first, just straight on my dry (& oily) skin. I leave it on for a while.. sometimes up to thirty minutes. Wash it off with warm water and don’t use any other cleanser. Whenever I do this multiple days in a row my skin completely clears up. The only reason I don’t do it every morning is because of time constraints. But done at night it seems to work just as well. I’ve been doing this for several months and my skin is the clearest it’s been in years. Even if you’re just looking for a cleanser, this is better than any other I’ve found with the exception of maybe Pores No More by Dr. Brandt, but this is way cheaper and removes foundation (liquid or mineral) better. Also, Pores No More really stings if it gets near your eyes. This cleanser/mask feels tingly, but has never irritated my eyes. Highly recommend!!

Fantastic face wash

My dermatologist recommended this to help with oil control, and I love it. It’s effective and refreshing, but gentle on sensitive skin. It can be hard to find at the drug store, but it was worth going online to find it.

I loved this product. It gives I cool tingly feeling after the mask. The cleanser is fine too. I’ve taken a break from this product for a while. I’m on the search for a routine a little better. So far product I’ve used are either par or worse.

Really good for acne.

I like this product a lot. About twice a week I put it on before getting in the shower and let it soak in like a mask. On the days I don’t use it as a mask, I just use it as a cleanser in the shower. The only thing I don’t like about this cleanser is that it takes a little to get it washed off…now that I use it in the shower, I have no problems, but when I used it before bed I would have to use a bit of scrubbing to get it out and it would get in my hair around my face. Regardless, it has really helped my acne and has a cool, tingly feeling that refreshes my skin.

Really thick

This product is okay, It arrived on time and everything. The scrub is so thick that it was more like lotion. Kind of hard to rinse off and it hasn’t really made any difference in my skin. My face doesn’t even feel clean afterward. i usually rewash it with another product.

One of the last standing Benzoyl Peroxide options at the big box store

I used to be a Proactiv user when I was a "kid" and on rare occasion that I get a break out, the benzoyl peroxide options always did the trick for me. It used to be easy to pick up a big box store brand one, and be on about my business. These days, this is the ONLY benzoyl peroxide option I could find at the big box store. So: I wanted to review it and let you know it works, it’s here, this is the only one at some big box stores, and it doesn’t have a good smell! It’s not as bad as OXY 10, but it’s not that nice either. It has a solid covering froth, a small amount of scrub (beads or some grit of some sort) and rinses clean. It holds in place and doesn’t run in your eyes.I also haven’t found it bleaching my towels or shirts so it must rinse clean enough to really be mostly gone.In the end, it works, and that’s why I’m reviewing it. 4 stars instead of 5 because of the smell.

Pretty good face wash

I love Neutrogena’s line of facewashes so I’ve been using their stuff for years. I have this sitting in my shower with only a bit left in it. It does keep acne at bay and it foams pretty good which I like. Though it does dry out my skin and irritates some spots on my face like near my nose on my cheeks where I’m the most sensitive. So this brings on some breakouts, but it’s not horrible cyst like breakouts. I break out whether or not I wash my face, but since I have oily skin I CAN NOT GO WITHOUT WASHING MY FACE, that’ll be a disaster in itself! Lol. Anyways like I said the few breakouts maybe because it’s giving me a bit of an allergic reaction. I’ve started to use a face wash for acne from the Arbonne line because it’s organic and pure. It seems to be doing any okay job for me now, but I’m always looking for something better in everything.

Excellent cleanser for oily acne prone skin

I was a Proactiv user for over 10 years. Sometimes it would work and sometimes it didn’t. I had been getting frustrated so I took a suggestion from my esthetician which was pricy and ultimately did not work either. I asked a coworker of mine what her skin care regimen was since we both have oily acne prone skin and similar complexion. She told me she uses the Neutrogena Clear Pore Scrub,Neutrogena Clear Pore Oil Eliminating Astringentand theNeutrogena Visibly Even Daily Moisturizer, SPF 30. She also told me she uses the moisturizer only in the morning. The scrub is like a light cream with beads, not harsh and has a very refreshing and clean feeling.
