Give it a minute before deciding you got the wrong shade.
The moment the Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer arrived, I tried it. I chose Annapurna, because it said ‘medium’, which usually works for me. I didn’t want to go any lighter, because makeup that is too light tends to look awful even though I have fairly light skin. I also wanted a little bit of color, enough to look healthy.I recommend three things when you first try it.1. Don’t use very much. A little goes a long way. I used too much and my face looked abnormally reddish-brown. I washed it off and decided the shade wouldn’t work for me.2. Give it a minute before tossing it out if it looks too dark. The next morning I tried it again. Again, my face looked abnormally red/brown. This time, I didn’t wash it off. A few minutes later, it looked good! It was the right shade for me after all.3. It was really hard to get the stain off my hands. When I thought I had my hands clean, I dried them and more stain came off on the towel. I may use a makeup brush for it in the future. It does give a healthy natural glow and makes my skin feel great. I love the texture. It doesn’t look as natural and/or creamy as some of my other choices. It looks a little splotchy. I may not buy it again. The jury is still out on it.
Drop Dead Dewey!!
Let me start of my saying that I’m an AA women with combination skin with a few blemishes on my cheeks. Also, I can’t wear liquid of cream foundations because my face will breakout. So, usually I wear NYX concealer and Loreal ture match powder foundation, and it worked for me and made me happy. So, I decided to try Bare Essenteuals BUT an artist at Sephora recommended that I try NARS tinted moisturizer. I’m not a stranger to NARS cosmetics and they are know for quality, well pigmented products, so I gave it a try. My color is polynesia, the product is medium coverage and light weight. I apply it with either a stippling brush or a regular old medium foundation brush. Not to mention that the product has SPF!! I use a little bit of concealer for my blemishes first. The tinted moisturizer gives my skin a natural yet dewy finish, since I have oil spots in my T zone I apply a finishing powder in that area ONLY. A little MAC gold deposit on my cheek bones, winged out cat eye and your favorite lipstick/gloss and mascara and you are done!Love this product! I also wanted to say that it washes off nicely and is VERY easy to wash out of your brushes unlike a lot of heavy liquid/cream foundations.
I’m obsessed with this tinted moisturizer, its truly on of the best along with my Laura Mercier. It arrive in a timely manner and I was very please. Cant stop wearing it.
Great color and coverage!
I LOVE this! The tinted moisturizer I was using from Smashbox can’t compare. I purchased Alaska and, while it’s a liiiittle darker than my natural color, it looks REALLY natural, especially when blended down my neck. It doesn’t appear oily and lasts my whole 9-hour work day. I also have roseacea and this covers the redness completely, except when it’s really bad.I started getting chemical peels and even with my skin being dry and flaking, this covers it really nicely. I’m obscenely happy with it and will stay with NARS and this product in particular.
A nearly perfect tinted moisturizer with SPF
I’d heard about this tinted moisturizer on several beauty blogs and decided to try it, since I was in the market for a paraben-free and retinyl palmitate-free product with decent SPF coverage. My current skin shade is exactly in between Alaska and St. Moritz. I usually use Neutrogena Healthy Skin Enhancer in 60 (Neutral to Tan). I debated which NARS shade to get for a long while then decided to go for St. Moritz since it is now summer and I’ll probably tan a shade up. Application is very smooth (I do wear moisturizer under this product, though). The product has a very light but pleasant floral scent (it disappears minutes later, don’t worry), it blends remarkably well, and covers minor blemishes better than I had expected. I do wish it wasn’t so tan-yellow…this is probably one of the darkest shades of light medium that I’ve ever encountered. I think I’ll probably purchase Alaska and blend the two. There is a definite yellow tone to this shade – wish it were a bit more neutral/beige. However, the pros (easy application, nice sheer-to-light coverage, decent SPF, doesn’t cause my skin to flake, 8 hour wear, no parabens) outweigh the yellowish shade issue. Highly recommend and hope that NARS expands this line to include more neutral shades in the medium tone spectrum. If you are on the fence about this shade, I’d recommend, especially if your skin has a definite yellow-tan undertone. I’m a convert!
Great tinted moisturizer
Moisturizer that doesn’t clog pores? checkSPF 30? checkTinted color so I don’t have to wear foundation? checkGreat product that satisfies several requirements. This is the 2nd time I bought it and refuse to use anything else. The coverage is light but surprisingly thorough for something that is not a foundation. I wouldn’t wear it when I need full coverage of course, but it’s perfect for daily wear to work. And unlike Sephora, with Amazon I got free shipping.
Perfect for me
I have noticed my skin is becoming a bit more dry. When I slather on moisturizer and foundation, the foundation slips off or collects around my nose . This product provides just enough moisturizer for the dry areas without overdoing it. The color is perfect for me…I have medium skin with red areas around my nose and chin. I have mild rosacea. This lightly tinted moisturizer provides a bit of coverage for those areas…not as much as foundation..but diminishes the redness. I really like the light tint…I am not much of a "make-up" person and don’t put on a "full face" very often. NARS has come through again. I don’t mind the price as it is an excellent product for my purposes.
Fantastic coverage for a tinted moisturizer
Tinted moisturizers are generally not my thing. I find that most of the ones I’ve tried don’t tend to hit the mark with either moisturizer or foundation. The Nars Pure Radiant Tinted moisturizer is definitely the exception. This product is incredibly moisturizing and also has fantastic coverage. Most brands do tinted moisturizers in a very limited color range, but the Nars tinted moisturizer comes in an astounding 9 shades. This is fantastic if you’re someone like me who has very fair skin. With other brands, I often find that the lightest tinted moisturizer is way too dark. But not Nars, their lightest shade, Finland works great on me.The level of SPF in the Nars tinted moisturizer is also great. Most brands will top out at SPF 15 or 20, but this is SPF 30.I am incredibly happy with this product. I find it wears well through out the day, is very moisturizing and has really good coverage.I will definitely repurchase.
THE BEST tinted moisturizer
I don’t often write reviews but I had to for this product. I tried several tinted moisturizers but there was always something…irritated my skin, not enough coverage, settled in lines, etc. This tinted moisturizer is the best. I am in love with the NARS Sheer Glow Foundation, but like this even better. My skin stays moisturized and glowing. It last all day and feels light weight. Excellent coverage, does not settle or wear off. It does not irritate my skin and actually improves the quality of my skin and evens out my skin tone over time. It is the absolute best! I am in love with yet another NARS product! Perfect color…blends into my skin flawlessly. love love love
Perfect in every way
I had been using (and loving) Nars Compact Powder Foundation because I don’t like a heavily made up look. Started reading and researching about these new BB creams everyone is talking about and found some great reviews about the Nars Tinted Moisturizer. Although it does not claim to be a “BB” cream per se, I am amazed at the results! I am over 40 and struggling with dry skin in spots and very oily skin in other spots. I liked the Powder foundation because it absorbed the oil but in my drier spots it wasn’t so flattering, made me look older than my years. So after reading another review about what shade would work for me (I also chose Finland because my normal powder shade is Deauville), I ordered and am SO happy I did! Let me tell you, I am amazed! I used to liberally apply concealer everywhere from under my eyes to my sun spots, etc. and now I don’t have to! I don’t know how but I get great coverage from this TM yet my natural skin shows through. It blends well around my eyebrows and hairline as long as I am careful not to use too much, which is tempting because at first you will be afraid you are not using enough – it goes on very sheer. I have been using it for about 2 weeks and my skin has improved considerably, too. I do have to use my regular moisturizer underneath as it is not quite rich enough for my mature skin but then I apply and finish off with translucent loose powder. My skin absolutely glows, even in bright daylight and it is a perfect color match to my skin tone. I am hooked! Once again, Nars saves the day.
Matte finish that lasts & does not cause breakouts
I’ve had tough year when it comes to acne. I finally got it under control but now I have acne scars. Just about every tinted moisturizer and foundation makes me breakout, but I needed SOMETHING to cover it a bit. Well, this doesn’t give full coverage, but it softens the look of the acne scars and it doesn’t break me out. It also doesn’t leave me a greasy mess halfway through the day. I’m NOT partial to the so called “dewy” look (read “oily”). This one leaves a very nice, natural, almost powdery finish that lasts a good 8-10 hrs. Just make sure you moisturize and let your moisturizer absorb fully before applying this product so that it does not highlight dry patches.
Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer
Coverage: Light to Medium but possibly buildable.Consistency: Medium Consistency- not thick but definitely not runny either. It has the same consistency has Nars Sheer Glow.I purchased this product in Annapurna. This particular shade has a lot of yellow in it with a hint of peachy tones. They did not have as many shades as their foundation. I normally wear Syracuse (Medium Dark 1) in sheer Glow. Had I known that Annapurna was actually Medium Dark 2. I would’ve gotten a shade lighter. It isn’t darker per say.. Just a lot more yellower… A little too much yellow, in my opinion. This product hasn’t broken me out at all. My skin feels very nurtured and hydrated after I apply this product. I love that it has SPF 30! It gives me a great complexion and it looks very natural. I love it, will probably purchase it again but in a different shade.
The best tinted moisturizer I found.
Great tinted moisturizer by Nars. IMO the best and I’ve tried a bunch. They usually don’t have a good coverage, have weird colors, makes you shiny or like ghost etc.I used to use Laura Mercier one, very good but it was kind of heavy. Nars is really lightweight, has the best coverage ever. Almost like a foundation, but without heavy feeling and cakey look.Creamy consistency and blends beautiful. Sometimes I use it over bare skin and it looks great. Also very moisturizing, it leaves healthy natural glow without looking oily (like Laura Mercier’s TM). I don’t use powder over it, not even in my T-zone, but I have a normal skin. Good staying power, unless I will touch things with my face (like kissing and playing with my son), it will last the whole day. It might be other story on oily complexion or heavy moisturizer under. The colors are great for me, as a like yellow base, because it’s great to cover redness. I can use either Finland (winter time) or Alaska (summertime), they match me really well (MUFE HD foundation 120 which is perfectly between Finland and Alaska), Lorac Breakthrough Foundation SMS 4, Laura Mercier TM Nude, Laura Mercier Moisturizng foundation in Warm Ivory, Silk foundation in Medium Ivory, Clinique Even Better foundation in Buff, Stilla Illuminating Foundation 30 Watt, Korres Wild Rose WRF1, Tarte Recreate foundation #6 and Tarte TM Agent 10). To be honest Nars TM feels totally like Lorac Breakthrough foundation. If someone can not wear yellow tone make up I’d stay away from this TM.I am not sure how well that would cover dark melasma spots. I had some in the past but got rid of them 95%, and my skin tone is not flawless (also acne scars, a bit of spider veins). For sure this tinted moisturizer makes skin more even. For this problem i would still use this TM, just cover problematic areas with either concealer or dab of foundation.Spf 30 is very good additional protection (because it can be layered or touch up later on), but without white cast on face (important- regular spf is needed under because make up spf is not considered as primary defense from the sun). The best thing I can tell about protection and great consistency is sometimes in the mid day my make up fades, I kiss my toddler son a lot;) Lately I use Make up for ever and when we go for a walk in the afternoon or go to the store etc. I apply Nars TM and have refreshed look with protection, very natural. Love that option, fast, convenient and actually saves money (I don;t have to remove make up, use spf cream and foundation again; and applying just spf moisturizer wouldn’t give this little coverage I like). The look: great skin and no make up look, because it doesn’t mask skin completely so I can still see rosy cheeks through. If someone likes decent coverage and almost no feeling of make up this is worth to try. Especially when the price is similar to 1oz high end foundations, but the tube is 1.9 oz and you can squeeze last drop, unlike glass containers (I actually cut the tubes in half with any product and there is always decent amount of product left; cover bottom part with the top one and keep it in a ziplock bag to prevent drying or transfer leftover to mini jar from used cream).I took one star away because of the price, and when I applied more layers for beter coverage there’s no more “no make up” look. But this is personal and I am pretty sure most of the ladies would love this product.
Good tinted moisturizer
This is a very nice tinted moisturizer. The color I picked, Alaska, is very well suited to my fair skin. This product does give a dewy finish to my skin. And it has SPF 30 sun protector. The coverage is good too,a little better than some moisturizers with tint.
I had a terrible allergic reaction to this product and had to throw it away. However, I liked the way it looked on before the reaction. It took me awhile to realize that this product was causing the problem. I used powder over it, and it stayed on all day. I liked the idea of a strong sunscreen. Perhaps it will work better for you.
I know I’m in the minority on this one, but I have to be honest. I love NARS products and fully intended to love this one. I got a sample in St. Moretz, which was a bit dark for me. I didn’t mind the color, as it was just a sample and I knew it wasn’t going to be my exact match. I love the finish of this product. It’s dewey without looking greasy. My problem here is coverage. I have a spot on my face of dry skin, it popped up recently and this tinted moisturizer did not cover it AT ALL. In fact, it made it look way worse. My bb creams do a way better job of covering. The smell is also something that is bothersome. It smells like wood cleaner or something similar…not what I want to smell on my skin. I prefer the Laura Mercier personally, and the cost is about the same. This one just didn’t float my boat.
Great BB cream
This gives great coverage without feeling heavy on your skin, I wear it everyday and my skin loves it, Will be repurchasing
Nice scent and color, but bad for my acne.
I loved the lemony-scent of this stuff, but was ultimately disappointed.I found that it triggered acne-breakouts for me, and also had a tendency to uh, collect in the creases above my eyes.
