- Nail Tek- Foundation II Base Coat- Ridge Filling Nail Strengthener- For Soft, Peeling Nails- .5oz
This nail foundation is GREAT!! It smoothes the nail surface beautifuly, almost looks like acrilic nails!!! And it also makes my nails sooo stronge when I have it on, I compare this nail foundation like if you had some gel or acrylic on top of your nails but definetly without all the damage of acrylic nails. It will make your nails healthier, and also a plus is that is prevents the nail from getting yellow ( because of dark nail polish ect.) I had a lot of problems with my nails getting yellow because I love to use nail polish, even though I always used a base nail polish, but after using this nail tek foundation, I can paint my nails with any color I want ( using nail tek as base polish) and my nails will always be beautiful and clear!! I highly recomend this nail tek foundation!!
I got these to fix my nails after I pulled my fake ones off. It did help with the ridges and holes the acrylic left.
Have been using for years….
I have been using this product for many years as my primary base coat. I am a nail "freak" and have tried many systems and products….I always use this as my base with 2 coats of polish and a top coat of Barielle and I can usually get 4-5 days from a manicure with lots of hand washing…..
I have just recently removed my acrylic nails and my real nails were in horrible condition. I have been using this product regularly and my nails have improved so much and are growing stronger every day. I love it and this was a great price.
Don’t See Any Difference
I have one problem nail that hasn’t been able to grow in many many years because it is so soft and ridged, and this didn’t make any difference on that nail. So I am trying gelatin tablets next.
I have thin nails and this stuff makes them very strong. It repairs damaged nails amazingly. This is a must have.
Did NOT Strengthen Nails!
I’m so disappointed. I really need help with my soft, ridged nails. The majority of the reviews led me to believe this would help. I followed the instructions precisely. After the second day, I noticed the ‘coating’ had chipped off the ends of 8 of my fingernails! I tried it 4 more times with the same outcome. Nails NEVER became stronger. I’d send it back, but the postage would be as much as the product!
Something strong to build on.
Would you start to build a house without a foundation? No, and your nails need the same thing. A good Foundation. It’s called ‘FOUNDATION’. And when you put it on first it helps to fill in the little ridges, splits, any damage from neglecting your nails. Then when you apply Intensive Therapy ll, you will have an even better foundation. As you find your nails looking nicer and stronger, you can then add some of the other products like ‘EXTRA’ and this will give you super strengthening for your delicate, problem nails. Mine are getting so strong now that I can do almost anything without fear of breaking a nail.
Chips after a day and a half, with a list of not-so-healthy ingredients
This product works well for about a day and a half, then the tips of my nails chipped off. It also has less than desirable ingredients. I purchased both the intensive therapy and ridge filling foundation, used both together, and it bonded my soft, badly peeling nails back together, for a short while. I also wash my hands, a lot! Which is probably why the nails are so bad to begin with! But, other nail treatments I have tried have chipped off and left my nails peeling again, usually by the end of the day. I am wearing them by themselves, and they are not yellowing either. As for filling in the ridges, this one didn’t do too well in my opinion. I still had evident ridges. Now, as for the ingredients, they contain some questionable ones, Formaldehyde is considered one of the toxic three, and has been removed from most popular polishes sold in this country. Many of the studies done identified it as a carcinogen that is harmful when inhaled by form, I don’t know how high the concentration is in nail polish. There is a warning printed on the box “harmful by inhalation”. Here is a list of ingredients in this product: butyl acetate, ethyl acetate, isopropyl alcohol, nitrocellulose, talc, tosylamide/epoxy resin, adipic acid/neopentyl glycol/trimellitic anhydride copolymer, n-butyl alcohol, hydrated silica, triphentyl phosphate, trimethyl pentanyl diisobutyrate, camphor, formaldehyde, stearalykonium hectorite, stearalkonium bentonite, diacetone alcohol, citric acid, violet 2 ci 60725.I am posting a very similar review for the other nail Tek product also. Personally, because of the load of chemicals in both products, I won’t be combining them, I will probably just find another product. There are so many that are just as good, without the carcinogens. This product was cheap, but I still feel like I wasted my money.
