when it’s real it’s great
i purchased moroccan oil twice at amazon and was so happy with the product. i was telling all my friends about this great find. love the scent, the slip, the results. leaves my coarse hair soft and manageable. not a big shine, but that’s ok because not a big grease slick either. very absorbed in the hair, like a treatment. anyway, a word to the wise, my order #3 was not moroccan oil. it smelled different – more sweet or strong and it felt different. plus the box had a grease stain on it and the bottlecap was taped over. i called the company in canada about whether there had been a reformulation. nope. but there has been a proliferation of fakes to the point the company has stood up a legal team around this very issue. some products are nothing more than mineral oil. online is the biggest source of the fake products. i read a poster who says amazon is working on it…
I LOVE this product. My hairdresser used it on my hair before she used the flat iron. I could not believe how shiny and healthy my hair looked without feeling weighed down or flat. I thought maybe it was just the “hairdresser” magic since she always makes my hair look good and then when I try to do what she does, it fails. Well I ordered the product from Amazon and tried it for myself. My hair looked just as good when I did it at home as it looked when my hairdresser did it at the salon. I am amazed at how great my hair looks all day, it never gets greasy or limp or weighed down. I have stick straight, limp, lifeless hair but this product seems to give my hair shine and a small amount of body that lasts all day. I would venture to guess I could even get a second day out of my hairstyle but I am too chicken to try. My hair gets so greasy if I don’t wash it every day but when I use the oil it seems ok the next morning. I am actualy giving small bottles to my bridesmaids as thank you gifts in April. I am sure they will love it as much as I do.
Usage: 2 weeks before writing this reviewI used the product as instructed, but due to the winter weather-I added a couple of more drops to my hair while it was wet. I blowed dried my hair and used a flat iron. And my hair felt nice. The scent is pleasant. This product is alcohol-free, paraben-free, ethylene glycol, and propylene glycol-free.Made in the Israel
I bought this product because a friend of mine told me how “fabulous” it was. I am so thankful that I bought it on this web site and only paid $27.00 for a bottle of this oil. The beauty parlors in town are selling it for $60.00!! I would have returned it. First of all, it smells very nice, but that is it. This product, I think, works for very curly hair. It does absolutely nothing for my straight hair except for adding an extremely light and pleasant scent that is gone in a short while. Really, not worth it! I think if you have curly or “fly-away” frizzy hair, then this may work for you. If your hair doesn’t match that description, don’t bother!
Great product and smells incredible
I discovered this product the last time I had my hair done at the salon. My mom had an appointment about a week after mine, so I told her to ask our stylist what she used on my hair. My mom purchased a bottle for $42 at the salon. I then found it on Amazon for MUCH cheaper. It must sell pretty quickly, because it seems to come and go in the “eligible for free shipping” category through Amazon.I have very fine, partly wavy/a lot straight, natural blond hair. My mom has dark (now grayed), heavily colored / often treated hair. It works GREAT on both our hair!! It is amazing how soft it makes your hair feel. I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the smell of it. I lean towards perfumes with clean/soapy scents, and I would love to have the smell of Moroccanoil in a perfume!!!I use it on wet hair before I blow dry. I also but a little on the ends after I style my hair to eliminate any dry ends. I highly recommend this product to people with all types of hair.
Love the scent… hate the results
I’ve got LOTS of very fine long hair that tends to be on the dry, frizzy/kinky side and is VERY sensitive to humidity so I’m always on the lookout for the miracle product that will tame the frizzies, give my curls more definition and repair my spit ends.Well, sad to say, this is NOT the product. While I fell in love with the scent (kinda musky) it did nothing to tame the frizz-at all or help define any curls; in fact it made the frizzies worse. I tried it on damp hair, dry hair… one dime size, two dime sizes… 3 dime sizes (tilting the bottle onto my open palm and quickly tilting it back up again and using what was left on my palm). Didn’t matter how much or little I used; the results were the same… frizz-more frizz than when I DIDN’T use it!If you’re curious, the ingredients are: Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicone, Cyclomethicone, Butylphenyl Methyl Propional, Argania Spinoza Kernel Oil (Argan Oil), Linseed (Linum Usitatissimum) Extract, Fragrance Supplement, D&C; Yellow-11, D&C; Red-17, Coumarin, Benzyl Benzoate, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone.Argan Oil is the FIFTH ingredient on the list; so more than likely, any benefits from argan oil are minimal at best; and what you’re really getting are the results of the the top 4 ingredients, which are obviously too oily/heavy for my fine hair.
Magical Hair Elixir
My hair tends to frizz out, even in dry Southern California climate. I have tried everything from conditioners to scalp treatments to all kinds of silicon-based gels and drops. My hair stylist recommended trying this hair oil, and I did and I absolutely love it. Not only does it calm my hair, it adds lots of volume as well. It is truly magical in that it smooths my hair, adds shine, and does not weigh it down, but gives it volume.
