Not really an eye…opener.
I admit it, I was curious. A mascara that vibrates? That is supposed to emit little vibrations as you apply it to your lashes and that is supposed to make them more defined? The first thing I think of is ….ghetto vibrator…The second thing I think is ..I hope no one actually uses this elsewhere and hurts themselves…although then they might have well defined lady parts to counterbalance the wand being lost “up there”Listen…its mascara…and I have used a lot in my lifetime. Been wearing makeup since I was 12 and that’s 26 years of hits, misses, trials and errors. The vibrations did nothing different than a regular wand. My lashes were no more defined by vibrating them, then not. I don’t think this device can vibrate strongly enough to still be safe, and do exactly what its telling you it can.It makes noise, its fun to use, but you better already have a steady hand or else your gonna be cleaning up a mess, and its not going to be a nice wet spot.
Really cool idea!
The reviewers below mentioned that this mascara was the best ever! I have to say I do like it a lot, the vibrating part is REALLY hard to get to stay on seeing as how you have to grip the button with a death grip 😛 anyhow, the mascara is really good and I have seen results by using this mascara. I would buy it again!
Less Than I Expected At First, But Now…
Pulse Perfection by Define-A-Lash Vibrating Mascara No. 841, Very Black by Maybelline, 0.22 OunceFor me, this was just an “OK” purchase. I’m not particular ecstatic about the product but, there wasn’t any need to return it. The vibrating part of the mascara works just fine for me. However, it does clump, and awfully at that! I’ve also found that when I continue to apply to the mascara, in hopes of smoothing out those clumps, it starts to harden, sticking my eyelashes to each other. That’s definitely NOT what was advertised. I’ve had to completely remove the mascara and reapply on two separate occasions because of this. All in all, it’s just OK. Not highly recommended but not blacklisted either.I previously rated this item a 3 star but after using it for some months now, I give it a 5 star. It’s long lasting, it does add a whole lot of length and volume to my lashes, so much so that it appears as if I’m wearing fake lashes. In regards to the clumping issue I previously had, this is no longer so. It just needed to be broken in. It now goes on very smooth and I’ve had no issues with it drying out. I LOVE IT!
Love this crazy mascara! Good for thin lashes !
So when I first saw this product, I was like vibrating?? Are you serious? And for the price I passed at first.. Then it dropped on sale so I figured why not. I have to say I love this mascara! I have very thin lashes, and its hard to find a mascara that doesn’t take a million applications. This works great, my eyelashes don’t get clumpy like other mascaras will do, and I am very happy with this product. Not sure what the vibrating really does, but my eyelashes look great, so I am happy!
I had big hopes for this inexpensive mascara based on the reviews, but the bottom line is that I found it too clumpy, even with just one coat. It did coat my lashes nicely and make them look full and thick, but what good is that if there are icky clumps? I’m considering buying an eyelash comb and using it to even things out after applying the mascara; maybe that will help.As for the vibrating feature, I didn’t find it useful. I got clumps with or without the vibration.I’ll have to keep looking!
It’s like jello
The Mascara is so think it’s like jello and sits on top of the brush. I think I received a bad one or it’s just like this? I don’t know if it’s manufacturer’s faults or gone bad at the seller’s. Either way I don’t like it. I don’t want to bother returning it so I just leave it.
so disappointed when Maybelline stopped this product and so happy I can purchase on Amazon…I really don’t like makeup much but when I do wear mascara this is the BEST!
I really like this mascara. Ever since I was younger, Maybelline has been my go to brand for mascara. I try every new product they come out with and am usually really satisfied. The pulsation was kind of hard to get used to because I would kind of make a mess on my eyelids with just the slightest slip of the hand. The actual mascara and wand itself works great even when you don’t use the vibrations. The blackest black is dark and makes your eyes stand out. The price is right too!
Great mascara, vibration does nothing.
I was excited to try this mascara because I heard good things about it. It’s a great mascara, adds a lot of volume and thickens up my lashes very well. I find that the vibration does nothing for me and does not make my results better. I think they just added it to be different.
This my absolute favorite mascara of all time! I was very upset when they discontinued this product, so amazon is the only place I can find it. I’ve already bought several because it works so good! Get complaints all the time on my lashes. Gives my lashes volume & amazing length!
OMG, best mascara ever!
I’ve tried at least 15 different types of mascara, and this is the best I’ve found! I was so shocked the first time I used it. My lashes have never looked this long. They look twice as long as they really are. I don’t know what the vibration does, but it works! You may get some clumping if you don’t apply carefully, and it’s hard to get used to since you have to hold the mascara at the very end so you can press the vibration button. But it’s worth it ;)Oh, I got mine at Big Lots for $4.
More trouble than it’s worth.
This was on sale at a bargain store, so I thought I’d give it a shot. I should have passed it up. I suppose it’s a good thing that the vibration gizmo didn’t work. Now that I think about it, why would I want to put a vibrator on my eye? Bad thinking on my part. As for the cosmetic, itself — I’m not a fan. It’s true that it does go on quite thick. However, it’s way too thick, and it’s hard to distribute on your lashes. It has the potential to make you look like you are wearing false lashes, which could be really cool. However, by the time you manage to work out the clumps, you’ve wasted so much time that you actually could have put on false lashes. Maybe if I devoted more time to the project…. However, after a while I just didn’t care any longer. It’s just too much like work.
This mascara is the best I have used in a very long time. I am 33 and have short straight lashes that are very hard to curl or lengthen. With this mascara I only have to swipe over them twice to give them super length and even a bit of curl. No clumping and my husband even asked me what I was doing different as far as applying my eye makeup. When I asked him to look at my lashes he agreed that was the major difference! Super product that does what it is supposed to. It does take some getting used to when applying pressure to the button that makes the wand vibrate but even if you do not use the vibrating feature you get great results.
Wow love it
I got it the other day I like the packing and when I tired it on I didnt like it that much I guess I gotta get use to wearing mascara again I haven’t had mascara on for a long time so thank u again and the shipping was quick and fast thank u again
I like allot
This mascara is great the vibration seems to help it go on better and makes my lashes longer, but it will clump. Dont think I will buy again
I have bought this mascara before (waterproof) and have been very happy with it. I don’t like the washable ones because my eyelashes are long and they touch my eyebrows and if it’s not waterproof, it leaves black spots on my eyebrow line where the tip of my eyelashes touch. The description said WATERPROOF where clearly it’s not. I wouldn’t have bought it if I knew that. I’m so glad now that I didn’t buy two of them. This is false advertising and I hope Amazon takes that off of their description because I know other women will be very disappointed when they realize this also!
I bought this for my daughter. I just asked her how she liked it and she said it is the best mascara she has ever used & now her favorite. I am glad because it was only $3.88 as opposed to the MAC mascara I was buying for her for $19.00. Looks like I have to report an A+++++
Got a rash under my eye after using this for 2 weeks.
I can’t blame this mascara to be the cause of a small rash I got under my left eye after using this, however once I stopped using it for a few days the rash is now almost gone.I hardly used the vibrating button because it made more of a mess on my eyelashes (maybe I just don’t know how to use it properly) However I decided this mascara is too liquifying and I often would need a tissue to wipe the excess amount of mascara on my eyelashs, other wise it would smear on my face when I closed my eyes.Even though I am unhappy with the results of my eye lid and the amount of times I had to fix the mess it made, it still does its job and holds on to make my lashes look darker and longer.
I really like this.
I really like this mascara. The vibration is very subtle, but I like how it keeps my eyelashes separated as I am applying the mascara. It does take quite a few coats to get the look that I want and I usually use it with another brand of mascara as well. I use this one first so my eyelashes look separated and then I use a thicker mascara to finish off the look.
This is not bad, not bad at all.
I bought this while hunting for a rotating wand mascara, I’ll still get one because although this has merit, it isn’t what I’m looking for. Use this when you have time because you do have to linger while applying. Start at the base of your lashes after curling, you need to hold it there while you ‘pulse’ the head. You will feel it working, and then slowly move the wand up to the end of your lashes. If you try to hurry through the process you’ll be unhappy with the results, the more time you take, the better the outcome. The color is very black and I have not noticed any smudging, no raccoon eyes either, but I DO prime and powder under my eyes and eyelid. I did think this mascara works very well on lower lashes. All you have to do is hold it close and press the button, (it’s in the head of the wand) you really don’t need to do much work with the lower, just let the pulsing do the job. I found the power, or pulse button to be not so user friendly…it’s at an odd angle as I like to ‘lift’ my lid whilst applying and this makes it difficult to lift AND power up. So, all in all, not a bad product, just takes a little finesse for that ‘doe’ eyed look.
