It’s okay : ( updated review 10/15/2010
I know it is a bit early for a review but I just can help myself, I just got the soap yesterday. In the other reviews that I have seen for this product a lot of people kept say how bad the soap smelled, but in my opinion the smell was not that bad at all. It smelled like peanuts but it’s nothing to over the top. That is all I can say about the product for now. I will write a review on the results in regards to my acne in a couple of weeks.October 15th Update!!!To update you guys on my opinion of this product,I found it to be just okay, not great, not good but okay : (. I did not notice a change in my acne at all. I stopped using it after 3 weeks and started using another cleanser. You can check out my profile page to see my review on the “Other Cleanser”.
GREAT for problem skin, but smells like peanuts
This is all natural, with no funky fragrances, which is perfect for me because I’m very sensitive to perfume that is not natural (just going through the fabric softener isle at the store makes my stomach queasy). This soap smells like the natural smell of neem oil, which is a strong smell a little bit like peanuts. If you think you can tolerate that, you will be very happy with the results. In two weeks, I noticed a big difference in the skin on my upper arms, which is where I often get red scaly patches, about the size of a half-dollar. This soap, combined with a good lotion really made a difference. I usually use a neem oil lotion at night and a shea butter lotion during the day, since the Shea butter smells a bit less strong.I think it’s really worth a try if you have problem skin. Each bar lasts a long time and you will get a lot of uses out of it as long as you don’t leave it sitting in water. My toddler threw a bar in the toilet and it dissolved; I saw the label floating in the bowl and I knew.Give it about two weeks to work– it took about 10 days for me to notice any real difference, but it did happen.Recommended.
This Product Is Ok…
I have seen a slight difference when using, but it does make my skin very dry. Overall, I don’t think I will purchase this again.
Natural Smell, Nourishing
This soap has a natural smell and does nourish my skin making it soft. My only con is that is melts REALLY quickly even though I keep it in a tray away from constant water. Anyway, I bought this along with the lotion to help with my eczema flares, but I’m not sure if this is "strong" enough when my eczema is in this stage. I may repurchase as a maintenance soap, but for severe eczema, it’s not enough for me. I am getting ready to try Grandpa’s Pine Tar Soap instead.
Great for acne prone skin
I’m just obsess with neem. It is a miracle fruit. My skin has been transform since I started using neem product. This soap is fantastic beside that is good for acne prone skin is a natural product without any chemical.
I don’t have a particular skin problem, although I’m susceptible to acne — on my back and face, and my face is very sensitive to chemicals. This soap doesn’t cause my face to break out and is very safe. I did not notice any particular positive results, however. The odor of the soap is so mild it’s unnoticeable. It suds up well and although it’s a small bar, it lasts quite a while. I wish I had some “miracle” to report but I don’t. I can’t even say that the soap made my skin noticeably softer or smoother. All I can say is that it does no harm and is safe to use on a face with sensitive, complex skin.
I love this soap
this stuff smells horrible at first but over time the smell goes away, but regardless this soap is the bomb! i know it stinks but it helps with my skin problem and has actually help the scaling factor which is problematic for me. I definitely recommend this soap with anyone who has skin ailments, especially psoriasis. 5 stars and then some!
Not the most pleasant scent
but I really love this soap and do not find it too drying. It is gentle enough on my skin and I find that it cleans well.
This soap was all it claims to be. It is soothing. I laser my legs, but the growth hair has not completely ceased. Razors irritate my skin, but using this soap really helps. It also works well for my Mini Schnauzer who is allergic to flea bits.
Reports of odor are highly exaggerated
Judging by the reviews, you would think that this product smells like the vilest of the vile.It makes me wonder what people expect herbal soap to smell like. Yes, neem soap does not smell perfume like Ivory or Carress. It has a mild odor, reminiscent of peas or beans in the garden mixed with a bit of fresh earth. Nothing major at all! Furthermore, the smell doesn’t linger.I purchased this for the kids because they were exposed to a kitten with ringworm. Ringworm is now gone, but we used ketoconazole cream and colloidal silver in addition to the soap. I have continued to use it on my face (because of its reputation for helping acne), and I am noticing fewer blocked pores and significantly softer skin. For now I will continue with the soap. I would add that if you have hard water, it takes a bit longer to rinse off.
