we will see
I am reading mixed reviews on this product. Some say it is wonderful and others say it makes your hair sticky. How can the same product have contradicting views? I will try it and report back. I am interested to see how it does.I only gave it three stars because in the past the L’Oreal products I have used have been too perfumy and that is why i hesitate in using this one. I have long, thick, curly hair and it gets super frizzy. I dont usually like putting stuff on it because i like it to feel natural. We will see.
Don’t like this at all
This does not work at all when I blowdry my curly hair straight. Was hoping for a silicone free solution. This isn’t it.
L’Oreal Paris Eversleek Super Intense Serum: Works for Me!
I had just washed my hair today when this product arrived.I had let it dry naturally, because I was really busy doing things around the house.I had brushed it through once and was feeling pretty bleek about the way my hair was looking when I finally had time to see what was going on in the bathroom mirror.Basically, my hair looked wavy, lifeless and FRIZZY.I am now nearing 62 years old, and I still care about the way my hair looks!I am a strawberry blonde, and my hair needs color treating. This causes further damage. I dye my hair at home.On to this product: L’Oreal Paris Eversleek Super Intense Serum.I opened the package in front of my husband when he came home from the post office with it.I said, “Tell me what you think. This is supposed to make my hair less frizzy!” I ignored the directions and just used it on my dry hair.I ran a small amount through my dry hair and looked at my husband’s face. He looked amazed! He said, “That stuff really works! Your hair looks much better! The frizziness is gone!”I looked in the bathroom mirror again and he was right! There are lots of things I would still like to fix about my hair, but this works for me to solve the frizzy problem! I am very pleased with the result I got with L’Oreal Paris Eversleek Super Intense Serum. Please note I do not have tight curly hair. I have wavy hair. It did not affect the waves–and I don’t expect it to. I would need a genetic alteration for that! Thanks, jean
easy easy!! Love it!
I didn’t read the directions. I opened and splurted out two drops in my palm and smoothed my hands togther and applied to my dry frizzy fly away baby fine hair. I live in Florida where humidity is a good hair day serial killer. It worked. My hair got some shine, but not greasy shine. There IS A DIFFERENCE. I really like the L’OREAL PARIS no sulfate line of hair products and so I really wanted to try this. There is no odor or smell to this product, I even took a big whiff to be sure. I can’t smell a thing.I have also used it on damp hair and it means that if I use a blow dryer my hair is not all frizzed to heck and back. It lies smoother and is easier to style. I like one pump in my damp hair and one pump to smooth down my styled hair a tad before heading out into the heat. My hair is past my shoulders and is more long than short. It’s also brown and chemically highlighted with blonder highlights so my hair tends to get dry even in the humidity. This product is like a light oil, not a thick goopy cream at all. It’s clear and after using it a lot I do not have any product build up. I’m super happy with the results and will buy again. Love the serum type pump and the portability. I just throw it in my purse to apply if I’m going out on the town. One quick application really makes a huge difference in the appearance of my hair. Thanks Loreal!
I have tried a lot of serums, and the L’Oreal Paris Eversleek Super Intense Serum is a great product. This gets the job done and eliminates frizz without leaving a sticky residue. Definitely recommend!
It Works, but Not if You Blow Dry.
Edit:I tried this, one more time. For reference, I have reasonably curly hair–think Benedict Cumberbatch in, “Sherlock.”Applying four pumps to longer-than shoulder-length hair, combing it out and letting it air-dry results in very pretty, sleek ringlets.(Just don’t blow-dry, or it will frizz.)Original Review:If this were a science experiment, we’d lay out the materials and the process, so I’ll do that, just for sake of argument.Materials:L’Oreal Paris Eversleek Super Intense Serum (2 pumps)Suave Naturals Shea Butter and Almond Shampoo (2 tablespoons)Revlon Quiet ™ Hairdryer, six months old (1)Flat vent brush (1)Forty-something, frizzy haired female (1)Process:Wash hair with shampoo; apply two pumps of serum, blow dry for eight minutes using the Revlon dryer and the vent brush.Result:If anything, this separated out my hair so that it was frizzier. It doesn’t smell bad, and it’s not sticky. It doesn’t seem to do much, though. It’s inoffensive, but not particularly effective.
L’oreal Paris Eversleek Super Intense Serum has a very smooth texture that glided on my hair very well. It did not feel too greasy, and my hair straightened well after running the flat iron through it.
So far I like this
I have long, thick, colored hair and so far after a few days use I like this. it needs to be put on damp hair, and its easier to comb through when I go to blow dry but as for making my hair sleek, not so much, however it is summer so flyway’s are common with my hair and the season!! We will see what happens when the weather cools and the humidity levels drop!!
I have tried many silk serum over the course of the last two years, the period when my hair has been miserably dry. Anything from Organix to Biosilk to your generic CVS branded products, I have tried them all. These serums would work just fine for the first few hours, but then after that, the effect would slowly fade out. So, I turned to covering up the dryness by applying some coconut oil (DOES NOT smell nice), and the results I have noticed with Loreal serum is surprisingly similar to the latter, but without the fade out effect. After coming back home after a ten hour shift, my hair is still shiny as it was when I applied it.I highly recommend this product, and at less than ten bucks for a 2 oz bottle, it’s a steal.
handles the frizz well
It gets very humid in the summer where I live and though I only have wavy, not curly hair, it can get quite frizzy. A small amount of this works great. I have used it after my hair is dry and I have used it when my hair is damp and I think it is equally effective. You just have to be careful not to use too much, then your hair will look greasy and it is harder to style. It is called Intense Serum for a reason. A little goes a long way.
Works all right, but WOW it smells strong.
I always expect L’Oreal products to be heavy on the scent, but I must admit I was flabbergasted at how strong-smelling this hair product is. I tried it right away after receiving it on my hair after showering. I have never dyed my hair, have a simple straight haircut, and haven’t permed it in years. I don’t even use hair dryers or curlers. My hair is very very long and baby-fine. And yes, it gets a little frizzy sometimes, as you might guess, so I’m always on the lookout for products that help control that frizziness.I’ve tried it for a week so far, applying it every other day and in differing amounts (3 pumps seems to work better for me than 1-2, which isn’t too surprising given the sheer amount of hair I have). It’s a very thin liquid of shampoo consistency that doesn’t wash off the hands very easily after use. The package advises to use it mostly on the ends, which I can agree is the best practice. It can feel heavy and oily if used too close to my roots. It does make my hair feel very soft and silky, though I can’t say it seems to totally control frizziness. Tones it down, sure, and I really liked how soft my hair felt after using it, but I couldn’t go so far as to say it totally gets rid of frizz. But one thing that seriously bothers me about this product is the scent. It’s just too overpowering. One night I made the mistake of putting it into my hair after a late-night pick-me-up shower and I couldn’t even sleep because the stench of perfume was so overpowering. I don’t know what I was thinking. Even during the day, it is very distracting. I don’t think I’ll be able to continue using it after this review’s done. I can definitely see the scent being a real issue for people who are sensitive or allergic to perfumes. I’d definitely recommend a wrist patch test before anybody uses this in earnest–that’s how bad it is!If not for the scent, this would be a 5-star product. It’ll be a fine day when L’Oreal figures out that they use too much perfume in their products. Catwalk’s “Curls Rock” does just as good of a job of controlling frizz and making hair soft after showering, and it smells worlds better.
Too much fragrance!
When I squirted this in my hand, I had a feeling it was not going to work for me. I used it anyway. Bad idea! It broke my hands out in rash after only one use! It didn’t seem to make much difference in my hair, either. There are other brands out there that are much better than this. If you have any issues with fragrance, stir clear of this product. It annoys me to no end all the products with fragrances. If everything has a difference fragrance, you could end up smelling pretty awful! This serum is 1.9fl oz. States 48 hour frizz control. Dispenses from a pump bottle.
Light – not oily. Works great!
I love this product. Some smoothing serums can be oily or heavy; this is neither. It is light and has a very silky texture. I have naturally curly hair which can sometimes be brittle and frizzy. This product eliminates all those problems without making my hair too heavy. The final effect is nice, smooth curl without a dull look. Perfect shine and bouncy hair. Like I said… I love it!
For slightly to moderately frizzy hair at best.
This L’OREAL product did just an “OK” job at trying to tame my frizzy-day hair, but only after I had to exceed the recommended amount of pumps. The packaging says “1 to 2 pumps,” but that would not work on my hair. I had to use double or triple amount of recommended pumps in order to notice any marginal results. The pump is very easy to use with no mess. Obviously no two human hairs are the same and I feel this product is definitely not a “One bottle fits all” type of product. At a modest price, it is definitely worth a try. Even if this product falls completely flat for you, at the very least, it has a very pleasant scent, so your hair will smell better than before.
best serum I’ve ever used
I have long hair down that is always at least to my shoulders, if not 2-4 inches below. It’s thick and prone to split ends, and I always have to use product of some sort to give it definition. No haircut will last more than a week on my hair, it’s that thick and determined to do its own thing.Of all the leave-in conditioners, gels, lotions and serums I’ve used, this is the best by far. The scent is very light so it doesn’t clash with anything else I use on my hair. I spritz my hair with water until it’s damp, then use about 4 pumps total on just the ends of my hair, comb through, add any extra product if I need it (usually a “curling” lotion”) and let it air dry, and it looks great. It’s allowed me to grow my hair out a few inches without it turning into a big frizzball at the ends.I’ve used it on average 3 days a week for 5 weeks and it’s only half empty, so it lasts a good long time, too. I definitely recommend giving this a try.
tames my flyaways, adds shine, smoothes already smooth hair.
Doesn’t leave my 50 year old, color treated, thick & curly hair greasy.Works terrific, after I go to the salon, for keeping my `salon gorgeous hair’ gorgeous longer.
• The clear `serum’ feels like a thin lotion rather than an oil.
• Because of my thick hair I use double the amount suggested.
• It doesn’t stay on my hands like some products will
• The slight fragrance doesn’t stay in my hair.
• It does leave my hair softer and nice to touch.
• The 48 hour control is about 2 to 24 hours, for me, depending on the humidity.Doesn’t function well, for me, as an everyday product. After washing my hair I need an oil based product and a strong cream straightener to soften and control my super thick and curly hair.I think it might work best on fine hair that is naturally straight & non-frizzy and perhaps tends to be a bit oily – with the ends that can get dry between hair cuts (as they do for all of us).
A good hair serum
Those of us with long potentially fuzzy hair really need a good serum to smooth our hair. When I was in high school I started using John Frieda’s Frizz-Ease and thought it was a miracle cure. I am still always on the lookout for new smoothing products and this L’oreal Eversleek works pretty well. I use it right after I wash my hair and make sure to only use it at least 3 inches from my scalp to keep my hair from looking oily. I blow it dry and then use a final coconut finishing spray. The whole procedure really makes my hair look thick and shiny without looking greasy. I would recommend this product as a less expensive than salon product.
I’m a fan and the price point ROCKS!
I’ve got thick wavy, color-treated hair and prefer to blow dry it straight each time I wash my hair. That being said, I’m extremely picky about the product I use – it must do the job the first time out of the bottle or I’ll throw it away. I don’t have time to try it over and over again. This wowed me the first time. It was a pleasant fragrance and made my hair smooth and silky without a greasy look or feel. I tend to spend upwards of $20+ on my product and this made me rethink what I was actually buying in the past – and now the future. I’m a fan and as long as it’s being made and available in my store, I’ll be purchasing this serum.
intense serum to contoll frizz
of course since IB hairless on top i gave this to the wife to use. she used it and informed me that her hair felt silkier and it stayed in place alot better. she really does not have split ends or the frizz factor for hair. but she says that any product that MIGHT prevent split ends or frizz with the oils that this product contains would be good to use
okay-not great- for finely textured hair
I never have luck with silicone based anti-frizz serums. They weigh my ultra fine hair down and they make it look dirty, even in very small amounts. This serum is somewhat better. I can use a couple squirts and my hair doesn’t look like it’s coated in grease. However, it doesn’t seem to do a fabulous job of controlling frizz. My ends still are unruly. Perhaps I am not using enough? The scent is agreeable and very light and the pump mechanism works really well and seems solid.
I really like this!
I was drawn to this product in particular because of the no silicones claim. I have naturally wavy hair that tends toward frizzy in the summer. I already use Ouidad products and rotate other "no frizz" shampoos and conditioners. One thing common to wavy/curly is that we tend to not have a ton of shine. This has definitely helped give me some nice shine and also seems to add definition to my waves. I use this after my holding sprays and/or gels. I use two pumps in my hands and scrunch it in from the mid shaft to the ends concentrating on my ends and front pieces that tend to dry more poufy. I do air dry my hair in summer to give it a much needed break from drying and styling. I took off one star because I do not think it is a be all end all of my routine but my hair is definitely enhanced by adding this and I think it does help my wave definition and help keep frizzies at bay. I do not wash every day and the results seem minimized after that first day when I have used a pick through my hair. I sometimes reapply but do not seem to get as good results as on freshly washed hair. All in all a really. Good product and I would repurchase it.
great smell and quality, but doesn’t work in Florida humidity
I was hoping this would work better than other products I’ve been testing to fight the frizz on these hot and humid Florida days, but unfortunately, it didn’t work. While indoors and only if I blow-dried and/or ironed my hair, it looked great: smooth, shiny, and frizz-free. As soon as I stepped out the door, it was over. A few minutes later, and the frizz came back. If you’re in a dry climate, this product is great. If not, then it will only last as long as the A/C.
Non silicone based defrizzer
I have very coarse, wiry and frizzy hair.I usually use Moraccanoil, however this is a very nice alternative. It s meant to be used on wet hair prior to blow drying. It has an oily texture but no silicones to weigh down my hair.Their s a strong floral France which did not bother me.It helped control some frizz and made my blow dry easier. It might be too heavy fine very fine hair.
Not For Me
The instructions on this product say to avoid putting it on the roots of the hair and to only use 1-2 pumps. I have extremely curly hair that is extra, extra thick and since I strive to follow directions for the sake of an honest review, it isn’t something I’d buy on my own.I use a Conair 1875 Styler set to 250 degrees. With this product, because of the instructions, I had smoother than normal ends, but there was some unevenness from the roots. I was unprepared for the feel of the product and I’m assuming the high glycerine content is the reason. On my wet hair, it didn’t leave a film but I found myself wondering if I had used enough because when I put it in my hands, I felt like it started evaporating almost immediately.Further, I didn’t particularly like the way it made my hair feel even after my hair was completely dry. I’ve gotten better results in terms of feel from the typical cheap heat protectant gels likeFantasia High Potency IC Heat Protector Straightening Serum, Hair Polisher, 6 oz..I currently use Cute & Kinky’s Hair Moisturizer because the blend of oils are a more significant part of the formula so that my hair can feel nice whether I’m going au naturale or blow drying it. I am not certain the product can be found on Amazon though.
Made my hair feel greasy and dirty. I tried with all different amounts of the serum. No matter how little I used it still felt awful. The strong fragrance didn’t help either.
Light and clean
I have used the EverSleek line before from L’Oreal a few times but this was the first time that I tried the serum, usually I use the Fructis Moroccan Sleek oil in the little orange bottle but this is pretty good when I’m out or when I want something different. I’ve been using serums for years now, sometimes it seems like the application is as important as the product, I recommend to use two small pumps ( for long hair) and rubbing your hands together to warm up and disperse the product then to gradually get it in to the hair, touching the top of head last to avoid heaviness where you need lift. This serum is pretty good for being silicone free, natural oils always work great for hair, the chemicals in other serums tend to make hair shiny and soft at first but overtime they actually dry it out so after a while the hair is actually worse than before. I will continue to use this in conjunction with my other oils, it certainly leaves my hair feeling clean and smooth, pretty good product so far.
Smooths my hair . . . noticeably
Age: 56Hair type: very baby fine and highlightedI need to be careful with serums because they can weigh down my baby fine hair; however, this product didn’t make my hair look greasy as some of the other serums I have tried. With Eversleek, I did an experiment. On one side I used nothing, and on the other side I used the serum. I blow-dried my hair as usual using a big round brush. I then asked GMR if my hair looked different on one side, and if so, in what way. Later, I asked my visiting brother the same question. Both independently said the same thing, “The right side looks smoother and the left is sticking out more.” I thought so too but nothing beats a blind testing. So yes, there was a noticeable difference using the product if you want your hair to be smoother and “sleeker” — and sometimes I do – but other times, I like the sticking out more – teehee. Warning though, another time I used it and it weighed down my hair a little too much and made it limp — a little goes a long way.I’d use this very sparingly when I want a more “smooth finish” to my hair, but I’d have experiment more with blow drying, and possibly use another product with it, so my hair doesn’t tend towards the “limp” look. I think this product would do great for thicker “frizzier” hair than it does with my baby fine thinner hair. Still, I’ll be experimenting with it for different looks — it may do well to make a nice sleek ponytail.
Finally a great non-silicone serum!
My skin is sensitive to silicone based serums. Finally a great non-silicome shiner/defrizzer! Eversleek will leave your hair shiney and frizz free. I especially love it on my ends. This is a “must have” product.
A GREAT FIND
When I spotted L’OREAL PARIS EVERSLEEK SUPER INTENSE SERUM, 1.9 OZ, I instantly decided to try it. My daughter has long, course, curly, frizzy hair. She’s been pestering me to buy a “good” product that will tame her unruly locks. She typically washes her hair at night before bed. When she awakes, so does her hair! The frizz is out of control, leaving her no choice but to capture them in braids, something she loathes. The morning after her first use, I was amazed at how tame her hair was. The curls were shinny and coiled nicely. The only frizz she had was at the back of her head, where no doubt her head rubbed against the pillow throughout the night.Looks like he found a new product.

• Say goodbye to stubborn, unmanageable frizz with EverSleek Sulfate-Free Smoothing System Super Sleek Intense Serum. This smoothing serum, infused with Argan, Sunflower and Olive oils, helps control rebellious and unruly hair without the weight of heavy silicones. Hair is left shiny and stunningly sleek. Silicone-free 48-hour frizz control________________________________________
I have naturally wavy hair and have been using serums/oils for years now to keep the curliness under control or to help to smooth my hair when I blow dry it straight. I color my hair as well, so I am always on the lookout for products with no sulfates. I love the Eversleek line of shampoos and conditioners, so I was happy to give this a try. What I didn’t pay attention to was the fact that this serum is also silicone-free. This means it has a completely different feel. It is a liquidy serum out of the bottle, but once you begin to apply it to your hair it becomes tacky. It leaves my fingers feeling a bit sticky. It does tame flyaways and give hair a “piecy” look, if you use enough of it. Otherwise, it is fairly quick to dry and very light. The result is honestly a lot like spraying on hairspray and smoothing your hair down.I needed to use much more of this product than my typical John Frieda Frizz-Ease to get a similar result. Even then, I didn’t see the same shine I usually get after application. Rather, the Eversleek becomes rather invisible. I would imagine that if you have very oily or fine hair, this would be a preferred type of product, but for me, I like the effect of the silicone-based, or argan oil treatment and feel that it lasts longer.I’m going to stay with the slicker stuff, myself.
