Finally Something that Works 🙂

Purchased this and been using for a week already, this works great and my acne mild acne has slowly went away. I also use the facal gel cleaner by la roche so i will keep using both products. I put on at night and in the morning and works great for a base for my makeup. Non-stick and feels clean so i recommend this product to all that suffer from mild to bad acne. Love it, only down side was that i waited a good while (from Greece)(10+ business days) to recieve it but again i will make sure i know where its being shipped from next time. 🙂

I dont have sensitive skin yet, I used this product once (as the directions said) & my face got so dry that when I moved my face it quaked & started to bleed. I heard so many great things about this product that I couldnt wait to get my hands on it. So upset! Now I have a full tube and will never use it again. Hope it works better for you.

Not effective whatsoever

I have fairly sensitive skin but it’s not too extreme. I don’t have cystic acne but I get little bumps on my chin only that don’t really ever come to a head and get very irritated if picked at. This product burned so badly the first time I used it on my face that I had to wash it off, and I only used a thin layer. i tried it again after a few weeks and it barely burned at all so I used it for a few weeks, and it just did nothing for my skin. I also get "normal" zits on my neck for some odd reason and so I used this product on them. I swear it seemed like this stuff made them swell up and harden, it was disgusting!! I wish this had worked for me like it has for others!

Gentle and seems to work

I’ve had this product for approximately 6 weeks. When I purchased it, I was suffering from large, inflamed, cystic-type acne on the bridge of my nose, right between my eyes. This product was gentle enough for me to feel comfortable applying it so closely to my eyes. It doesn’t burn or sting, has no noticeable scent and doesn’t dry out my skin like similar drugstore treatments marketed toward teenagers. The product also feels more luxurious and creamy than other products and sinks into skin without leaving a residue. It seemed to help the cysts heal a bit faster then the normal length of 3 weeks or so. I try to use it every day on trouble spots (sometimes I forget) and, at least for now, it has helped me from getting cysts in the same areas over and over. I would recommend this product even though it does cost a bit more than other drugstore treatments. It does bleach fabrics, so take care with sheets, towels and washcloths when using this.

This Works

At first I was reluctant to whether it worked or not, but after almost two weeks I see that it works wonders. My Chin is a giant problematic area and this had kept it clear. At the beginning I thought it was not working because I was not feeling any burning sensation, but i guess great products do not need to irritate your skin. Will recommend to anyone with problematic skin and someone who needs to address a target area. Arrived in a timely manner.

It dries up pimples

I typically use this product for when I have an outbreak and it clears it up in a few days. However, you may want to know that when you use it as an all over preventive routine then keep in mind that whatever you didn’t see under the surface will come up to pass but give it a chance and it’ll do what it’s supposed to.

Really helped my skin!

I have problem skin, with acne, and even pro active and max clarity doesn’t completely clear it. I started using this product with my daily regiment s directed and i saw a noticable improvement! i still break out, but much less than i did, and the pimples go away much faster with this product.

Works great, but can dry out skin

I’ve been using La Roche-Posay sunscreen for years, and when I saw they made products for acne-prone skin I decided to give it a try. I also noticed the Effaclar Duo contains Benzoyl Peroxide, which has always been effective at treating my breakout-prone skin. (For background, I am in my early thirties with oily skin and pores that tend to get clogged very easily, causing a lot of breakouts. Most acne treatments tend to be pretty rough on my skin, so I’ve been on a search for something that really works but doesn’t irritate my skin.)I’ve been using the Effaclar Duo for about a month now and it’s done a great job of clearing up my skin. Within the first few days I saw a major difference.I wash my face with theLa Roche-Posay Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel, 6.76-Ounce Tube, wait about 5 minutes to allow my skin to dry, and then apply a small amount of the Effaclar Duo all over my face. The tube is small, but you really don’t need a large amount of the product. After I’ve given it a few minutes to absorb into my skin I apply moisturizer. I recently started usingLa Roche-Posay Toleriane Fluid 1.35-Ounces, and it’s really wonderful as well.My skin has gotten a little dry, and I’ve had some flaking with the skin around my mouth, but from past experience I know this isn’t unusual when using Benzoly Peroxide. Now that I’ve been using Effaclar Duo for a few weeks the flakiness has definitely decreased and my skin has adapted to the product. And I noticed that when I began using the Toleraine Fluid moisturizer my skin stopped flaking.Overall my skin looks great. It’s clear and bright, without any new acne popping up. And obviously I would recommend purchasing the product from Amazon…I found it’s about $10 cheaper here than in stores.

just a waste of money

this doesn’t provide enough bang for your buck. also it isn’t ‘drying’ enough to really tackle serious zits. i will stick to my vanishing 10% benzoyl provide Clearasil (much cheaper and more effective) in the future. it’s kind of watery and didn’t do anything for my acne at all.

The best acne treatment product!

I’ve tried a few different acne products sold in CVS, riteaid, etc…one day I visited CVS and tried this on a whim, not expecting it to actually work. I put it on the red areas on my forehead and came back home a few hours later, only to be surprised by how small my acne became! After then, I immediately bought this online and still use it whenever I get a terrible acne here and there. This is the BEST acne product hands down.

Negative stars if possible

I have oily, acne-prone, sensitive skin. I used this as directed for over 6 months. This did not help heal my break outs. It did not help prevent future break outs. To make matters worse it left my skin with a gray discoloration. So to sum up this left my already broken out face with grey spots. And yes I use sunscreen. I actually used the la roche posay suncreen in conjunction with this. By the way I actually ended up loving the sunscreen. Since then I’ve tried the mario badescu drying lotion which really does the job.

WORKS… but US version is different than the original French – BEWARE

I am used to the “Made in France”, original version of this moisturizer. The French Effaclar Duo is the only thing that works on my face. Keeps blemishes away but does not ever dry my skin.Unfortunately, the “Made in USA” version has Benzoyl Peroxide 5.5% – consistency is a thick white cream, compared to a white light gel in the French version.I have been using the “Made in USA” Effaclar now for 4 days:- no new blemishes- old blemishes are healing- however, my skin is over-dried and peeling (even though I apply Effaclar only at night and in the morning use a moisturizer, plus exfoliate with Clarisonic)So be beware, if you are used to the French version, this one might be way too strong. I have just wasted $27 🙁

Great Spot Treatment

This seems to work pretty well for me, but it is drying and since I’ve been doing the oil cleansing method (jojoba oil and castor oil)- I only use this product as a spot treatment 1-2 times a week whenever I have a break out. I’ve been trying to do the natural products to keep my acne away ( I was getting 5-10 spot a week). Since using the oil cleansing method, I only get 1 acne spot a week or every 2 weeks now and for that I use this as a spot treatment. I have tried a lot of other over the counter products with Benzoyl Peroxide and it just doesn’t work for me except for this one. There’s a lot of product and I don’t think I will run out of this any time soon.

It works

I got this in France, and will be purchasing this again online. The acid ingredients helps to unclog pores more effectively than using an acne needle, and I do notice an improvement in my oily, acne-prone skin’s huge pores. It won’t fix the problem completely, of course. (my skin doctor told me that the pore/blackhead problem is almost unsolvable… ugh!) But it does help. I use this only at nighttime, and use Chanel’s Le Blanc moisturizer mixing with Philosophy’s Vitamin C powder in the morning. While I always wake up with oily, greasy face in the morning, this product helps a lot in controlling the oily situation. It’s not magic, but the active ingredients really works. It’s light and almost gel-like, so it feels great on my oily skin (I personally hate all heavy creams). It’s less irritating than Avene’s Triacnel, which I purchased in the same drugstore in the same time but gave up because it’s too harsh on my skin.So overall..Pros:- light, non-greasy;- not too harsh, not drying;- nice smell, not perfumed, nor repelling;- affordable.Cons:- not super-magical-stuff. It helps, but may not change your skin. The change may be too insignificant on skins with serious acne problems.- mine become watery when it went to 1/3 left… I can still use it, but every time while shaking it I just secretly doubt if it’s still okay.- sticky after application. So better used on clean skin as the last procedure of skin care. It meddles with my sunscreen, so I have to use it only in evenings.LATER ADDED:I purchased this again on Amazon, and to my surprise I didn’t know that there are 2 versions of this product. The US version is consisted of 5% BP and it’s not recommended to use over the whole face. I tried to find the made-in-France version but didn’t see any online. So disappointed. I’m only looking for something that’s mild and will gently make my acne-prone skin look better, not something harsh & drying, though fairly effective. The French version was simply a unclogging formula that can be used on a daily basis. Too bad that mine is running out. I guess this page is for the US version. It’s fine but I’ll only use it for emergencies.

Works for my son…

My son loves this product and uses every day and night and his skin does look better and it is not drying on the skin. I would recommend this to people of all ages. It’s time for me to order it again.
