Not that great at all
I read about this as one of the miracle creams and was so happy to find Amazon had it. After using it for a few weeks, I have to say that it is not that great. I really don’t understand all the hype. It feels like a silicon-based primer.
One of the BEST moisturizers for dry skin – My HG
I have chronically dry skin from undergoing accutane treatment. I was really struggling with my makeup because I had so many dry and flaky patches on my face that whenever I applied concealer, cream foundation or liquid foundation, it would get stuck on the dead skin and look very unnatural and unattractive. I’ve tried a lot of drugstore moisturizers, and my all time favorite was the Olay Perfecting Cream (now named Olay Deep Hydration Regenerating Cream) because it was the only thing that could clear up my dry patches and not irritate my skin. However, it was only a temporary fix and would never keep the dry patches away for more than a few hours.I discovered the La Roche Posay B5 after hearing Lisa Eldridge recommend it for dry skin in her Beauty Nightmares video. As soon as I tried the B5 baume I was in love. It was like it mimicked my skin’s natural oil. As I rubbed it into my face, I could see my dehydrated skin absorbing it. My dry patches disappeared, and the dead skin rubbed off and was gone. I applied my makeup, and no dry patches in sight. It was magical. I’ve always had eczema on my shoulders and hands. This dramatically helps those patches, but takes about 2-3 reapplications to get rid of them completely. I would warn that if you have normal or oily skin and use too much of this, your face will look like an oil slick. I think this is really meant for dry skinned people. The other thing I’ve noticed about this product is that it takes down my redness. I believe that is because of the vitamin B5, which soothes irritation.I use this everyday underneath my makeup. I will repurchase this item time and time again. It has been a complete game changer for me.P.S. If you have dry skin like me, try out Waleda’s skin food. It’s heavier than this product and really hydrates deep. I use it at night.
Seems to help
I was having some red, dry spots from my tretinoin which is why I purchased this. It did not instantaneously get rid of the redness or peeling but it seems to have gotten rid of these issues over several uses. I’m not 100% sure that it’s the serum and not just my face getting used to the tretinion or more that I started applying tretinoin after moisturizer which is why I’ve given it 4 out of 5 stars.
Gentle, Moisturizing, Effective, Versatile
Depending on which issue I’m dealing with…Cicaplast has become my preferred moisturizer/soother, topical antibiotic, and or problem solver for my face. I also love using on my hands and cuticles.
This is the only product I have ever been able to use that has not made me break out. I am beyond happy with this product, and will always continue to buy it.
works fine. nothing impressive though. I bought this because it was used in an acne makeup tutorial as a primer… but honestly it’s nothing special.
Pretty good potential!
I read about this on a beauty blogger’s site and found it here. I used it on some dry patches and it cleared them up pretty quickly. I can’t attest to it’s powers of healing post-cosmetic surgery peels, but it worked for what I needed it for.
both great-great grandmothers fan of this product!!
I haven’t used this myself but I placed the order for two great-great grandmothers and they love this. They say it get rid of all sort of scars including acne(they lend it to their great grandson and he’s happy about the product too). That’s all that I can say.
Skin recovery miracle
I bought this for my combination skin. It does well to quench the skin without clogging pores or getting too oily. I do microdermabrasion treatments with chemical peels, so this really helps my skin as an overnight lotion. You can use it under makeup, and a little goes a long way, so you don’t have to use much. I would recommend using it in place of your regular day or night moisturizer after toners and serums. I couldn’t read the directions because none were in English and my German is lacking.
Excellent moisturizer that isn’t too heavy
I haven’t had any peels on my skin, but in the winter my skin can get dry and flaky in certain areas as a result of the anti-acne products I use. I’ve been using theLa Roche-Posay Toleriane Fluid 1.35-Ouncesas my regular moisturizer, and overall it works well. However, certain areas of my skin were sometimes still very dry and flaky. After reading the reviews I ordered this moisturizer and so far I’ve really been pleased. It has a gel-like consistency, and you really don’t need much. It’s very light and quickly absorbs into my skin. Most importantly, it’s helped soothe my flaky skin, making it smooth again without causing me to break out.Lastly, the seller did a really great job. Right after I placed my order, they sent me an email to let me know that since they are located in Europe the delivery time might take a bit longer than usual. Luckily the product arrived on time and in good condition.
Love at first use
I first discovered this product while watching the amazing Lisa Eldridge on you tube doing a tutorial on how to cover acne. I figured if she is touting that this product is good for acne prone skin then I must try it. I’ve heard La Roche-Posay mentioned for sunblock as a staple product (which is true) but this Cicaplast is like gold gel in a tube. I cannot express how incredibly easy this product glides across the skin because you must experience it to understand. This isn’t your "typical run of the mill" moisturizer because it does so much more than that. This product really sinks into your skin and hydrates it from the inside out. As someone who has suffered from acne for years, this product is a God send because it does NOT clog pores. It’s consistency is almost that of a high end foundation primer because it really gives a thin non-filmy layer of velvet across your skin and makes pores less visible. In fact, in many cases, those high-end primers can often cause breakouts and are incredibly pricy with packaging that contains less than an ounce of product. Invest in this product and you will not regret it!
Perfect after peels
I’ve been getting a lot of chemical peels, and even using a peel-strength Salicylic Acid spot treatment at home. My skin is crazy sensitive and acne-prone and blah. I decided to give this a try to deal with the ensuing flakiness, and so glad I did. It’s a lovely and simple product. The texture is nice and soft, it blends right into your skin and instantly helps curb the flakey look. No additional breakouts! If you are abusing your skin on the path toward having beautiful skin, this is a nice little helper along the way.
