i returned it because it is not natural ingredient.. has phnoxyetanol..and it is too tick to put on my face.. i did not like it at all..
I’ve tried a number of physical sunblocks, and this is probably the best. Yes, it’s thick and white out of the tube, like every other sunblock with enough zinc oxide to provide protection, but it rubs in amazingly clear (and without much rubbing). It’s not oily: it doesn’t feel greasy, and it doesn’t leave my skin shiny. I used this all day at the beach without reapplying and didn’t get burned at all, which was impressive. But as an everyday sunblock, it’s great! My only complaint is that it has a very mild odor that I don’t like, but it’s not a big deal considering the good protection, great ingredients (score of 2 in the cosmetic safety database, with strong UVA and UVB protection), and the fact that it applies well and looks great on.
Like putting greasy caulk on your face
Ugh. The scent is OK; I don’t even know if it works, but the texture is so heavy, it really is like smearing caulk onto your skin. I really wish Paula Begoun’s company still made sunscreen–theirs was the best. I’ll never buy this junk again.
VERY pleasantly surprised!!
I thought for sure I’d burn with this stuff, but it works GREAT! I love that it’s a much more natural alternative. I used this on a cruise last December to Turks & Caicos, St. Maarten, and Puerto Rico. I hadn’t had any sun since the previous summer, so I thought I’d burn for sure. Nope – this worked great for laying out, excusrions, in the ocean, you name it. Definitely buying again!!
Effective, gooey and not the greatest for contact lens wearers
Works well, but unfortunately seems to "migrate" up and onto my contact lenses. This limits where I can apply the sunscreen and therefore it’s usefulness. I also found that the oily portion gets consumed faster than the zinc oxide which results in the sunscreen product drying out and becoming difficult to apply – it gets lumpy with age. A 4 oz. tube is plenty for me for an entire summer.
Odd Texture, Separates a bit and is Streaky
I have very sunburn prone skin, have a history of melanoma and as a result, I’m a bit of a sunscreen connoisseur, if you will. 🙂 I bought this because I was looking for a non-chemically sunscreen for every day use on my arms and this one had some reviews that said it was non streaky. I love Jason’s other products, especially the 30 spf face lotion so I gave this a try. It is truly odor free, which is nice. But. It has a very thick and kind of clumpy texture and after a while (a couple of months), the ingredients separate a little so when I squeeze it, liquid comes out and then solid. To remedy this, I squeeze it around in the tube before I squeeze it out. If I wipe it in REALLY hard, I just look pale(r). But if I’m not careful, it’s really streaky. Overall, I’m not super impressed and wouldn’t buy it again.
I use this to protect every morning in the hopes that it will help skin integrity over time. I like it because its natural ingredients are perfect for my sensitive skin. Im not sure why people have a problem with it staying white – i just rub it in.
Wish I didnt have to wear it, but hey
Thick, but effective. Emollient. A good alternative for those whose skin does not tolerate chemically-based sunscreens well.Amazon is requiring me to type more.
too dry for skin
My kids got so dry skin after using this suncreen. Yes, it’s effective but the quality is aweful. I will not buy again, even for this cheap price! You got what you paid for
