One of the best!
this face cream delivers as promised. It’s a bit strong and thick for me to apply straight, so I spritz my face with toner first. After just a few days I noticed a definite smoothing and retexurizing of the skin. Highly recommend this product. Just do keep it away from your eyes. Note: I tried the face cream not the eye treatment.
Don’t Waste Your Money!
I have been using Hydroxatone for over a month. My skin feels smooth, but that’s it. There is absolutely no change with my fine lines. The product does go on greasy, but is absorbed quickly. I found it just another product in the anti aging industry that does not deliver.
All of your opinions are why I most like Amazon….
Ever been tempted to buy some really compelling ‘new’ product ‘as seen on TV? I have. With two exceptions (very cheap $10 ones) they were fairly worthless. Some years ago, I was sorely tempted to get something, and knew its purchase would make a major dent in my budget. I googled it, and found, of course, some pithy critiques. After that, I never made a buying decision without researching a bit. More recently, however, the companies themselves have managed to make use of those websites. Now if you google ‘hydroxacut reviews’ you will find links that suggest they include negative and positive reviews, but you won’t find a negative review. You’ll find instead rousing testimonials that rival those of the infomercials. Even Consumer Reports can be bought.Amazon, on the other hand, features most everything offered anywhere else, on television or off. Its customers give you the real ‘skinny’ on whether the product is worth its costs or not. It’s a bit confusing that this particular product is offered at so many price points, but I do like the reviews, and I find Amazon’s customers much more credible than tv actors or voice-overs. Thanks to all of you for your many considered opinions. You’ve saved me thousands over the years! Amazon is an impressive vendor, and its customers are even moreso.
I loved….this product
I thought I couldn’t live without it. I ordered it each time before running out, using it flawlessly for almost 2 years. Then the price went up and I tried Philosophy skin care. My skin has never looked and felt so good. And it looks younger. My daughters friends were stunned that I am we’ll over 10 years older than most of their Moms. I’ve always drank allot of water…still do,
best product ever!
A friend actually gave me a jar of this and i’ve been using now for a couple of weeks and it is amazing i love it!! I put it on my forehead and I have definately seen a difference!! And I feel like once you put it on everytime it working you just feel it working and its not greasy @ all!!! This is like a miracle in a jar!!!!! I give this 5 stars all the way keep up the good work!!!!
Nourishing and Elegant
What a rich and nourishing cream! And the fact that it provides SPF 15 sunscreen is an added benefit. The light yellow cream is thick and verges on oily but does not leave the skin feeling oily if it is put on in a thin layer. I like it best right after washing my face and neck with warm water. Then I feel the pores slurp in the best of the cream. I am trying this in the winter when skin needs a lot more wrinkle protection but a lighter sunscreen. In the summer it could seem too heavy, I don’t know. It seems perfect for my skin right now. After trying it once a day –well, most days– for two weeks, my face feels soft, smooth and relieved from dry areas. I can’t claim that it has removed any wrinkles as yet!Although it does not have a catchy and memorable name (Hydroxatone… real!y!), it is an excellent face cream and the round blue jar is attractive as well.
I have very sensitive skin that is also oily so when I saw this product especially made for my skin type, I decided to try it. While I have had no reactions to the anti-wrinkle complex, which is great, I am not sure about it minimizing my wrinkles. However, I have only been using a week, so will check back and update.UPDATE: I have seen no visible reduction of wrinkles in the 3 weeks I have been using it. Other, less expensive products out there work better.
This is a good enough skin cream, but not great. It feels a little greasy when you first apply it, but then it absorbs quickly. It seems like a decent but not exceptional product.
Regular Application is Key
First thing you will notice is that the container is far larger than included product, with its first (and largest) ingredient being water. Keep that in mind as you shop products. While the product has a smell I did not personally care for, it was not offensive by any means; but some say I am hyper sensitive to smell. As a moistuirizer, the product works great. Fine lines seem to dissapear with consistent application whereas larger wrinkles soften. Believe it or not, I use this for clients during photoshoots because it does not leave an oily sheen(to avoid post processing skin when possible). However, I found this to be the case only while the product is applied. Stop applying the product, even after a month of consistent application, and wrinkles appear again. Not unexpected I might add.Overall, the product is decent but not exceptional in consideration of price point. For my client photo shoots, I will probably go back to using far less expensive mositurizers.
This is okay however I don’t really see any difference in this and the over the counter $8.00 anti-wrinkle cream that has twice as much in the bottle. It is fine and doesn’t do bad things to my skin but it is just too much for what you get.
very cool and light cream
Moisturizing is such a critical part of the daily skin care. I found the cream very light and when you really just need to lightly glean the top: plenty. When applied, you can feel a light coolness to your skin. The best time is too use any moisturizing cream before sleep. One star off for the interior packaging meant that the cream container was not securely held in the box, for the price.
Review from a beauty product snob.
I really like this moisturizer. My skin is VERY sensitive, extra-dry and prone to breaking out when it disagrees on something. I generally lean towards Caudalie as my preferred brand, but I think I will happily use this, and buy it, because it just feels SO nice.It goes on easily, without a greasy feeling at all. Has ZERO smell, and instantly absorbs. I have super dry skin, and always feel nervous when trying a new product but the first morning I woke up I just couldn’t get over how great and smooth my skin felt. No irritation, no breaking out. It has a nice thick consistency in the jar that does not feel thick on your face. My skin feels smooth, and hydrated.A few weeks in, and I’m still using this 2x a day (at least) and loving it.*I’m not really sure how well it helps wrinkles, I’m in my mid-20’s and this is more preventive then needed.*Definitely a winner, and I’ll be buying more when this jar is out.
So far, it is a good product.
It will take a few months to know for sure about the “anti-wrinkle” part of the claim but in a couple weeks it has lived up to expectations. We have been having severely cold weather resulting in very dry indoor and outdoor air and very dry skin. Within minutes of application my skin feels much less tight and dry. This is a day and night use cream that is very thick but goes on easily, without dragging or pulling skin, and leaves no oily or sticky feel. When I put it on before going to bed there is to wicking into a pillowcase at all. At this time I would recommend it to friends to at least give it a try. I like it, but since it was through Amazon Vine I have no idea what the price will be (or is if it has already reached store shelves).2/27/2013 Update: I still love this product! It’s been seven weeks and there is at least another two weeks supply in the jar. My severely sun-damaged facial skin is showing significant improvement in reducing lines and wrinkles as well as moisture. I’m using it at bed time, once daily alternating mornings with another similar product. Now it’s time to start looking for it on store shelves !3/18/2013: Just finished the jar last evening so it went a little beyond my “another two weeks” estimate. I still like the product and I’m very pleased with the skin improvement I’ve experienced. Thanks!
Smooth, creamy, hydrating
Feels amazing on my skin – thoroughly moisturizing face cream. Leaves skin smooth, hydrated nourished. Love it! Although, to be fair, some of my friends are not quite as enthusiastic.
I think it works
I’m a 40 year old male. I use it for myself. I’m just getting done with brutal northern U.S. winter weather. I was using this for a while before the weather started getting milder and I think it works. I started noticing what I believe are wrinkles around the “crows” feet area? Started using this and I believe it is helping. Hasn’t made me break out once or suffer any other allergic reaction. Couldn’t give it 5 stars for its hefty price tag though. $50 for 1 oz? I think that’s like gold!
Not a beauty star yet!
This product has been offered on TV for ages. After being stung several time with info commercials, I will never order any item from the TV.Other reviewers of this product tells me people are still being rip-off.Amazon has a listing of over $50.00 … no way … for me. It is slightly oily andafter using pretty much the small offering, I found not much difference. There are plenty good moisturizer on the market that do much more than this product.I cannot with a good heart recommend this product.
Good, but not a miracle worker
I have chronic insomnia and as such often have bags under my eyes and have mild crows feet around my eyes. As such, it makes me look a bit older. However, this does help take away some of the darkness under my eyes and makes the skin look smoother. But do not expect this to be a miracle worker that will take away the effects of aging. Honestly, you could probably find a coco butter based lotion, preferably one lacking alcohols in it (many lotions do), and get the same results and save money.
A bit overpriced
I really don’t have that many wrinkles yet since I have been moisturizing my face and neck for years and have been keeping it out of the sun. I wanted to try this though and see if there is any noticeable change in my skin texture.First off, I hate the smell. It is nasty. I am used to unscented products but nothing like this. Secondly, when I put it on, it is thick like paste and it just doesn’t feel good having gloop on my face. Thirdly, my skin burns after I put it on. I don’t have sensitive skin per se, but this stuff stings. Even if I did like it, the price alone would turn me off. It is rather pricey for a month’s supply.I think I will stick with my drug store products as it is friendlier to my budget as well as smelling a bit nicer. It is a shame since there were some hype built up to this anti-wrinkle cream.1/9/13
a good moisturizer, though I didn’t see any dramatic results
This moisturizer is great because it sinks into your skin without leaving you feeling greasy. Further, a little goes a long way, so this jar lasted a little over a month for me. It made my makeup go on more smoothly in the morning and I do believe it kept my skin from getting overly parched, which usually happens in New England winters. I kept looking to see if it was helping my eye wrinkles out and I didn’t notice any marked improvement there, but I do really like this product and it has become my new go-to moisturizer. It also eliminates the need for a separate night cream — it is light enough to wear during the day but rich enough to use at night as well.
this face cream rules!
I can feel and see a small difference after using it for a week. It does seem to plump up my skin a bit and reduce the fine lines (how permanently, I don’t know). It’s also in a such a beautiful container that I don’t mind leaving it out by the bed, which helps me remember to use it.
Not for Me
This is a thick cream (which I like) but doesn’t have a moistening effect, like the Olay ProX that I use. I like the Olay product much better. However, no one product satisfies everyone. If you want to try this & compare it to what you like best, that’s the true test. I just don’t like the way it feels after I have put it on.
Not as effective as promised
Hydroxatone AM/PM is expensive, but you are definitely not getting a more effective product for the money. I have enough herbal and skin care knowledge to know what is most effective and what works best on skin. Most natural food co-operatives or health food stores will have much better products for far less money. This cream has no staying power during the daytime, and I find myself continually having to remoisturize during the winter months. It is not heavy enough for night time use, and found myself going back to my argan oil / jojoba oil mixture instead. I won’t be purchasing it again.
Night, no Day
I loved the idea of Hydroxatone AM/PM anti-Wrinkle Complex – anytime a product can do double duty I’m all for it, particularly because apartment living limits the available medicine cabinet space. This cream did not live up to that all-in-one promise. It is a thick cream so it does feel suitable for nighttime use. Day use, however, did not work for me. The cream was thick enough to interfere with my foundation and my face looked greasy. I had to dig out some pressed powder to cut out the shine which added time to my morning routine.I walk about a mile or so to the train and I don’t know if it was because of the greasiness of the formula or because the sun screen is not adequate,or something in the product made my skin more sun sensitive, but on a day with strong winter sun I got a little pink in the cheeks – and I’m not that fair. Reminded me more of tanning oil than sun screen. Can’t comment yet on the anti-wrinkle aspect of this, but it is thick enough so it might work with twice daily use. I’ll be limiting my use to nighttime only.
Non-greasy Facial Moisturizer with Debatable Sunscreen Ingredients
The product is advertised as anti-wrinkle and is supposed to serve “as your daytime moisturizer, your nighttime moisturizer, your anti-aging treatment and SPF 15 sunscreen.” I have not used it long enough to judge it’s wrinkle-fighting properties but the box says it contains Argireline which was recently developed to combat wrinkles.Speaking of the box, the ingredients listed there are not identical to the list as it now appears on the Amazon description, so if your skin is sensitive, get out your reading glasses before you open the container and read over the long list on the box. Unfortunately the typeface is small and the pretty silver on blue color scheme does not offer much contrast. I’ll mention a few of the ingredients below.Several ingredients are supposed to be sunscreens adding up to SPF 15. However, some of these ingredients are controversial and may not protect that well. Octinoxate (which is misspelled on the Amazon description as of 1/10/2013) is considered fairly safe although EWG [Environmental Working Group] says “Estrogenic effects are noted in laboratory animals as well as disruption of thyroid hormone and brain signaling.”Another sunscreen in this product, Oxybenzone, is considered somewhat risky by researchers. EWG’s Skin Deep Cosmetic Database cautions that it may cause “Biochemical or cellular level changes” and is associated with photo allergic reactions. Furthermore, it contaminates the bodies of 97% of Americans according to the Centers for Disease Control research.Octocrylene is another sunscreen in this product that has dubious utility. Wikipedia says “This organic compound can penetrate into the skin where it acts as a photosensitizer. This results in an increased production of free radicals under illumination. Free radicals are known to induce indirect DNA damage and an increased concentration of free radicals might have contributed to the increased incidence of malignant melanoma in sunscreen-users compared to non-user.” Whoa, that’s alarming!Even the vitamin A in this product is controversial. Here’s what I found: In the presence of sunlight Retinyl Palmitate (vitamin A) may speed the development of skin tumors and lesions. Also, the FDA (USA) has raised a concern that daily skin application of vitamin A creams may be undesirable for women of child-bearing age.DMDM hydantoin is an antimicrobial formaldehyde releaser preservative and sometimes causes an allergic reaction. As far as I could tell, most of the other ingredients in Hydroxatone seem to be safe. But I would not use it as a sunscreen due to the concerns mentioned above.I thought the cream felt smooth on my face although it did not comfort my winter-dried hands at all. I suppose that is because it is non-greasy. Anyway, now that I have read up on the ingredients I cannot recommend this product for daytime use.
Excellent product, positive results, safe for sensitive skin
From my wife: I have sensitive skin and am usually hesitant to try new products on my face. But this product has a lot of quality, more natural ingredients and now that I’m in my 30s my skin is not as amazing. The smell of this cream is light and has almost no smell at all. The texture is thick, but spreads really well. It tingles a tiny bit when I put it on, but did not bother my sensitive skin. Soaks in well and moisturizes well. If you were putting makeup on after, you would need to wait a few minutes, but it is not greasy. My skin is normal to dry. From the first day I used it my skin felt moisturized and soft (thereby showing less creases). Additionally, any redness or hormonal breakouts seemed to be diminished. The product is a bit pricey and did not last as long as I thought…but maybe it ran out quicker because I really liked it:-) Overall, would highly recommend this product!
Maybe it works, but the price is too high for me
When you purchase this you receive 1 oz. which is supposed to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, improve the overall appearance of the skin with a safe effective formula. It has Argireline which is supposed to relax facial muscles. I looked up all the other ingredients and they are either similar to the Argireline or humectants which attract moisture to the skin, or emulsifiers used to mix the ingredients. This is for sensitive skin, but nearly all the ingredients are things that could cause reactions, so use it with cautions. This looks like white grease. I have been using it twice a day nearly every day for the past month. I think that it has helped the creases around my mouth a little bit, but I can’t tell that they helped the lines around my eyes at all.So looking at the price, I am just not convinced that I would pay for what I am seeing from using the cream every day. I just don’t think that I am seeing enough of a change to make it worth the price, but then I don’t really mind my wrinkles all that much. If you do, you might try a jar just to see if it works for you, but don’t expect miracles.
Like so many creams and lotions, it is really hard to see a difference. Clinical tests measure things the naked eye cannot so technically it might make a difference but I can’t see it. It is a rather heavy cream so I seem to use more of it than I do with lighter creams. It seems to pull a bit going on even though I mist my face before applying. It is ok but not anything special.
Not especially impressed
It’s rather cold out when I’ve been trying this making this more of a challenge, and I do have sensitive skin. Been using it twice a day for weeks and am having to switch to a product that works better and costs a great deal less. Whether the issue is that it’s not as good for sensitive skin as it claims, or if the moisturizer just can’t keep up with the cold temps is a question I’m unable to answer.Diminishes the look for fine lines and wrinkles? Possibly, but if so, only a very small amount and not enough to replace a better working moisturizer. This isn’t worth the price.
More of a mostureizer
As advertized this cream doesa good job moisturizing. It leaves no residue on sheets, pillows, clothes, etc. I have not seen any evidence of antiwrinkle-ing. Unfortunately still have all my wrinkles.
This cream is a great moisturizer. I am not sure if it works on wrinkles as in that area we didn’t see much change. If it does work in the wrinkle area I am sure you would need more than one bottle.Because of the price we won’t be trying to find out.I feel that it has a great texture and feels nice to applicate.I have somewhat sensitive skin with certain things and this did not give me any discomfort so that is a good thing as well.In the end, if it were cheaper we would probably buy more of it.
