conditioner will help restore your overworked hair!
LOVE this conditioner! It leaves my hair with plenty of bounce, yet reduced frizz! My hair looks healthy and shiny and it has a great smell! if you flat iron or blo dry your hair too much, this conditioner will help restore it!
Fekkai Essential Shea Conditioner
I used Fekkai Essential Shea Conditioner along with the coordinating shampoo and I love it. It’s fragrance is "jasmine and exotic florals". To me, the scent is a little different from the shampoo but both of them together creates a lovely, lingering scent in your hair.I have used this shampoo and coordinating conditioner exclusively and have noticed my hair looks and feels smooth for at least 3 days and then I wash my hair anyway. I do recommend this product. One thing that I do NOT like about these two products (shampoo & conditioner) is that they are the same size, same style, same color, same font. I would recommend that there be a more noticeable way to tell them apart while you are in the shower or else you’ll grab the wrong bottle. Maybe one can have a colored top and one white or clear. Maybe the words "shampoo" could be in a weightier font. Something needs to be addressed. Other than that, this is a quality conditioner and with a lot of quality hair care products, you pay more for them. As you only need a little bit at a time, this should last you a while, thereby making the cost not so difficult to digest.
Smells So Good
I’ve used this conditioner in the past and I’m happy to say that it’s still the same. I love the scent, which is described as jasmine and exotic florals. It’s very light. The bottle says it makes coarse dry hair smoothed to fluidity. I have the opposite hair; straight and color processed. I still feel like this product works for me. I put a small amount on the ends of my hair and it works to make my hair look polished. The 8 oz. will last a long time. Highly recommended.
Super soft hair but expensive!!
I found this conditioner to compliment the shampoo very nicely giving my hair even more softness and manageability than using the shampoo alone (my hair is long, straight, fine, and dry). I still do not care for the light floral scent but that’s just my opinion. I do not blow dry my hair, just air dry, and found it left a nice shine as well. The conditioner is way more expensive than the shampoo which I believe is to high so this price point is also too high in my opinion for 8 ounces.
This is a thick, hydrating conditioner that smells like Hawaiian gardenias… Makes my hair silky, but still light and not weighted down. The scent stays on my hair for several hours.LOVE IT!
My Hair LOVES this Conditioner!!!
LOVE this conditioner!!! I’ve been using this conditioner for a little over a month and I was definitely expecting it to feel heavy on my hair, but in fact this conditioner left my hair soft, light and bouncy. My gradually going white hair feels like it has had new life breathed into it and even the color is more alive since I started using this product. I wash my hair every other day, or third day and with most hair care products, my hairs looks and feel drab and limp on day two, however my hair on day two or three still looks and feels full and fresh as if I had washed it that morning. Also, as with all Fekkai hair care products, you really only need a little dollop – a small amount goes a long, long way making this a really good value.
Thick conditioner with complex aroma
I used this conditioner on my own thick shoulder length hair and my 9 year olds thin, shoulder length hair. We both love the smell- floral but very complex with herbal undertones and a slight alcohol finish that I didn’t mind. It is very thick and felt sticky going on. It felt difficult to rinse out but I suppose a conditioner can’t do its job unless there is some left on the hair. Once dry, my hair felt smooth but not over conditioned. I styled it with hot rollers and blew it with a round brush. It held its style all day. It’s a little pricey for what you get so I only gave it 4 stars but it is definitely a high quality product.
I love this conditioner. It’s amazing. It works so well and smells so good. I’m sold. I have very thick, course, naturally curly red hair that tends to frizz so using this in addition to the shampoo and the pot crème has improved the look, texture and overall condition of my hair tremendously. Look no further ladies, if you have hair like mine, you will love this conditioner.
It naturally creates S shaped waves but doesn’t curl and it does frizz easily. My hair isn’t damaged to my knowledge
received the Fekkai Essential Shea Shampoo and Conditioner last week and so far have used it three times. Before I go into the review of the product I think it will help to describe my hair type. I have lots of medium, thick and semi-coarse, shoulder length hair. It naturally creates S shaped waves but doesn’t curl and it does frizz easily. My hair isn’t damaged to my knowledge. It’s not colored, permed etc.The result of using Fekkai Essential Shea Conditioner after shampooing was only felt slightly. My hair already felt pretty nicely conditioned using the shampoo but I could feel the conditioner add an extra slippery feel to my hair. I think if your hair is tangled already this maybe a good option but honestly I felt I could forgo this wash out conditioner ( described as such because there is leave in conditioner as well) and not miss it however manufactures always try and sell us on both products so I used both to get the full affect. I leave the conditioner in my hair for 5 minutes before washing it out.The collection also has a leave in conditioner called Shea Pot De Creme ( misspelled it seems on Amazon as Shea Pot De Crme) which I apply after washing my hair. I have also left this off to determine if I felt it made any difference and I do see a slight difference with my hair between using the Shea Pot De Creme and not using it after using the Fekkai Essential Shea Shampoo and Conditioner.I then used the Fekkai Essential Shea Shampoo without it’s conditioner but also with the Shea Pot De Creme as a conditioner and the results were the same so for me if I continue using this line I won’t waste the money on the wash out conditioner but instead continue using the Shea Pot De Creme.Use of Fekkai Essential Shea Shampoo, conditioner with the Shea Pot De Creme my hair was much less frizzy and it wasn’t so "fluffy" which I experience with shampoos which strip your hair. My hair was still slightly frizzy but less so and I have waves but I have little fly away hair and not completely smooth waves which I would love to have so my conclusion is if you have frizz you will want to use the Shea Pot De CremeSo for frizz it’s a good start but not an entire solution. I also live in Austin, TX where it’s very high in humidity. This maybe great for someone who doesn’t live in the same conditions I do.Other aspects I like about the products are my hair is left soft, it’s not fluffy but there is still a good amount of bounce in it and there is wave definition ( despite the fly aways ) and my hair dries untangled. As I said before the shampoo also didn’t leave my hair feeling "squeaky clean" because squeaky clean hair is a sign of hair which has had it’s natural oils stripped. It does do a great job of cleaning products out of your hair as well. The first time I tried it my hair had gross amount of hair gel , hair spray and mousse as I was trying to re-create a look and failing miserably at it. My hair was nice and stiff and unmoving by the time I gave up. I decided that this would be a great time to try out the shampoo. I could feel the shampoo take out the product from my hair. If you have ever been in my situation before it feels a bit slimy. Gross I know!I also enjoy the smell of the products where I’m pretty sensitive to the smell of perfumes. Most make me gag. The scent is strong in my opinion but to me this scent is best described as "fresh" and it leaves your hair softly scented after your hair is dry.So ladies and gentlemen my verdict for the shampoo is I probably will keep using it. I mean it’s a great start to frizz control even if it’s not the complete solution. I’ll be updating the review as I continue to use it if I find anything else I can add. If you have questions feel free to comment I’ll try and answer.Thank you!Summarizing everything here is the Good vs Bad for the conditioner.GOOD:
• Hair feels "slippery" with it’s use.
• For my hair I still had some fly away – frizz.
• I didn’t feel it provided to the overall solution to fighting my frizz.
I initially thought this Fekkai Essential Shea Conditioner would turn out to be a very heavy masque-like conditioner. I have natural blond hair that is baby fine but I have a lot of it. It has a texture that can sometimes almost be like bleached hair. This means that it breaks off very easily. It also tangles easily because it is fine. I have to use deep conditioners several times a week, but I also have to be carefule what type I use so that it doesn’t look weighed down and greasy. However, if I don’t use a "strong" enough conditioner, my hair is very tangly and looks dried out. Another problem I have is that a lot of discount/drug store brands make my scalp flake and itch (but so does ALL Paul Mitchell products, so it’s not only the cheap stuff).I have tried many, many different conditioners over the years. My favorite has turned out to be Fekkai’s Glossing Conditioner. So that is the conditioner I compare others to. I didn’t think I would like the floral scent of this Shea conditioner. I normally like the clean/fresh or fruity smell in my hair products and perfume. Fekkai Shea Conditioner’s floral smell is amazing!!! I caught myself the day after using it (wash my hair at night) swinging my head around so that I could catch a light whiff of it. The conditioner definitely didn’t give me a deep, deep condition like I thought it would. I found that I had to use a LOT more of it than the Glossing conditioner to be able to get out my tangles. I keep a wide-toothed comb in my shower to comb through my conditioner. I had a lot of trouble getting this combed through. My hair did look very nice when I fixed it the next day, though. In summary — I LOVE the smell of Fekkai Shea Conditioner and my hair looked nice when I fixed it the day after using this conditioner, but I had to use way too much of the product to get a comb through my hair. If you don’t have hair that tangles extremely easily, then you should try this conditioner. If you have tangly hair, then I wouldn’t recommend it.
My favorite conditioner
This is one of the best conditioners I have ever tried. I have thick curly hair and most conditioners seem to be too light and don’t leave my hair soft. But this conditioner works great on my thick hair and my daughter’s baby fine hair. Even with my longer, thicker hair, I only need to use a small amount and it works great. It always leaves my hair super soft and tangle free. I sometimes get the urge to try different conditioners but always come back to this one. I’ve tried several salon and drugstore brands but this one works the best and this bottle lasts me 2 to 3 months of daily use.
Shea conditioner/shampoo their best product for dry, damaged, curly, frizzy poufy difficult hair!
If I had to pick my very favorite Fekkai shampoo/conditioner line, it would be the shea. I like the Shea conditioner as well as the Pureology Hydrate conditioner that costs more. I liked this Fekkai shea conditioner SO MUCH that I bought a bottle of the shampoo to see if it made a difference to use it with the conditioner. (LOVE love their shea products!)I’ve been a Pureology Hydrate fan for a long time and always go back to it. I test other brands as the opportunity arises, and just never find anything that makes me want to leave Pureology. I think Fekkai delivered that magical combination of price, results, and fragrance experience with their Shea products. WINNER, winner. You can mix/match shampoos and conditioners, so far there hasn’t been one Fekkai hair product that I have disliked. Most of them I either like or LOVE, and I think this conditioner would be a bonus to any shampoo you picked. You only need a little bit, I have long hair down to my bra strap in back and I use probably a nickel/quarter sized amount. It washes out easily, leaves hair silky but not coated. Detangles, too! I’ve decided that when my gallon-sizes of Pureology Hydrate are gone, Fekkai is going to be my new brand. It’s not only cheaper but honestly the results are as good as (I daresay could be even BETTER THAN, with the shea line) the Pureology. The only thing that could make me happier is to see Fekkai coming back out with their discontinued purple shampoo for blonde hair. Everyone raved about it, why was it discontinued? I’m making do with Joico purple shampoo but I’d bail on that in seconds flat if I could get ahold of Fekkai-branded purple color correcting shampoo!Everything I’ve tried from Fekkai has exceeded my expectations so far. I’ve been able to start enjoying my hair again after struggling for so long learning how to work with damaged, bleached hair. It looked pretty crappy for awhile, when it’s damaged you can’t just ‘wash and go’ any more. Now with the Glossing Cream, Shea Pot de Crème (and Christophe Serum) I’m able to pass off my damaged hair as healthy hair. I think the shea shampoo/conditioner are really helping in that department too, as my hair comes out of the shower ready to style…no tangles and knots, it’s not dry and parched. Just happy and silky!
This smells nice but at the time I mistakenly ordered it the ingredients were not showing. There are moderate to high rated chemicals in this conditioner according to EWG. I try to stick with the low toxin ingredient products so I won’t be using this.
Nice and Thick …
This conditioner has a nice smell, albeit somewhat strong, and is rather thick and heavy. This is not a light conditioner, but really does work very well, leaving my hair nicely conditioned. I am using the shampoo by the same name and type and both work very nicely together. If you are wanting a heavier conditioner that really works, then this might be the one for you. A bit pricey, but I would still recommend.
Good quality product, just not great for my hair.
I have weird hair. I used to have nice hair, then something happened (middle age) and suddenly I have this head of hair that’s at war with itself. About half of it is still my original blonde straight fine and glossy hair, the other half is this weird gray kinky stuff. Needless to say, it’s hard to find hair products that work for this mess. Harder still to find any product that tames the evil gray kinky stuff without completely flattening the fine blonde strands.I had high hopes for this shea-based product, unfortunately I haven’t seen results that are any different than I get from cheap store-bought conditioners. It doesn’t do any better at de-tangling, and I still have those annoyingly grizzled-looking hairs that refuse to be tamed. The scent is nice, if a bit floral for my tastes. A downside is that it attracts insects, this is especially annoying when we’re hiking and every mosquito and bee seems to find me more interesting than the surrounding flora. My hair does feel very nice and soft after using this product, but I’d rather have it look nice than feel nice, and unfortunately it doesn’t help its appearance at all, so I’ll go back to my regular inexpensive product.
This conditioner really does a nice job of moisturizing my hair and scalp
Oh yum!! What a delicious, creamy jasmine scent. This conditioner really does a nice job of moisturizing my hair and scalp. I found it to be easy to rinse from my hair and left it easy to comb out I have used other shea butter products and like how they restore my skin. Fekkai does a nice job of using it in a conditioner without making it too heavy. Unfortunately the jasmine scent does not last long.
Good hair conditioner especially for dry hair
Very moisturizing. I love the Fekkai products, they are high in salon product, that deliver on their promises. I thought this conditioner works very well. I have dry hair, it is color treated. I color my hair about every four weeks. I need something to keep my hair in check. Using this keeps my hair soft, and makes it easier to style, and keeps the fly away hair down. Without a lot of product, my hair tends to go in directions I don’t intend. The scent is great, the product isn’t watered down so you don’t need to use a ton. I liked this conditioner quite a bit.
It tamed my fly-away strands….
I know what wonders Shea Butter does for my skin, but I was concerned that it would be too much for my hair. Wrong!Fekkai Essetial Shea Conditioner is just what my coarse dry hair needed. Shampoos/condtioners are much like perfumes and ice cream sundaes. Taste and personal preference play a big part in an evaluation. So I can only assure potential buyers that the product works for me.I have fly-away hair that seems to want to stand straight up from my head and salute passers by. grrrrThe Fekkai Shea Conditioner seems to have tamed it. It’s now soft and smooth and it stays in the general area that I want it. No more salutes. It feels smooth and good to the touch. And, equally positive, it’s not heavy and over-conditioned. I modestly say that it looks better than usual. The scent is a light jasmine; I like it, but again it’s personal preference.
Leaves hair soft
I really like this conditioner. I used it after the apple cider shampoo for clarifying and it felt really nice on the hair. My hair was softer than I’m used to afterward and was very easy to comb out. I have dry hair and have often trouble combing it out even though my hair is short. My hair was nice and fluffy after which I was worried about because I have fine and not very thick hair.I am not sure yet how it works if I use it on an everyday basis and will update if I find that it starts to build up. But I think that if I use the clarifying shampoo once a week, it should not. As I said in my review for the shampoo, I don’t like the collar which doesn’t really serve any purpose and is just one more thing to go into the trash.
