Excellent, mild shampoo
When you have dry, thinning hair, it can be challenging to find shampoo and conditioner that doesn’t make it worse. The Fekkai shampoo was a little watery, so I was a little worried when I poured it into my palm, but when I used it, I was very pleased. I had been working out in the yard and my hair was sweaty and very snarled, but the shampoo was mild and did not strip it, although it did clean it very well. The fragrance was extremely light and sweetly floral. I have terrible allergies and it did not bother me, but I wanted to note that it does have a light fragrance (if you are sensitive to that). In fact, I felt comfortable using the shampoo more frequently, perhaps even daily, because it was very mild. I appreciated that because of my thinning hair. I normally can’t shampoo every day because it is too hard on my hair.I would recommend using both the shampoo and the conditioner. I did and I think it made a difference. I don’t know that you’d get much "glossing" from the shampoo alone.
Bring the Salon Home
Very nice salon quality shampoo. Left my hair shiny and very soft. It makes a lot of lather so probably contains sodium laurel sulfate. Had a nice light flowery fragrance with a hint of cucumber.Seems designed to strip the product out of your hair. If you use a lot of gel, hair spray, ect. this will get rid of it. I would recommend using conditioner with it, it did seem to strip the oils out of your hair. For that reason it is not going to work for me, but if you have oily hair or scalp or use a lot of product then this is a good shampoo.
Herbal essence, but better
This item was given to me for my review.Yummy scent and glossy shine….the shampoo reminds me of Herbal Essence but lighter and fresher. The shampoo lathers up well, but it is very gentle on my hair, so whatever it is made out of is not just show. I don’t need a lot of shampoo to wash my hair, and I find that it is gentle on my scalp and hair. I like how shiny my hair is afterward. I have only ever tried two Fekkai products, and I liked both, but this is not a line of products I am super familiar with. This shampoo and the styling whip I tried seem like much better than average products. I would like to try more in this line.
I had never heard of Fekkai before, but wanted to give it a try. I normally use Biolage, but this product is just as good. The scent is light and the shampoo is quite thick, so although this is a small 8oz bottle, you can use less of it than you would a drugstore brand. I really like the bottle and the color of the shampoo itself. It doesn’t dry my hair out, and makes it super soft. I also treat my hair with coconut oil sometimes, and this shampoo washes it out completely.I am really surprised at how well this shampoo worked. I am also using the matching conditioner for best results.
healthy shiny hair
I really like this Fekkai Glossing shampoo. A little goes a long way. It foams very well ans smells great. Just after 2 uses my hair has a healthy shine and my damaged ends do not frizz. I have oily scalp, but this shampoo does not weigh my hair down. I will definitely buy more Fekkai products! Very happy with my purchase. I got a 15% discount for including this item in my Subscribe&Save shipment. Awesome!!!
Fantastic smell, makes a great lather and leaves hair shiny and manageable – good stuff!
At my age, I’m just happy to still have a little hair to wash. Since my dad never went bald, I think I’m OK for a while. Also, my wife, blessed with thick, beautiful hair, loves good shampoos. For birthday and anniversary presents, I always try to find a new and interesting shampoo or conditioner for her to try. We came across this brand a few years ago at a big buck cosmetics store. The price was off-putting but since it was a present, I went for it. Needless to say, she (and I) loved it. It has a fascinating, hard to describe smell that we really like. Better yet, the shampoo left our hair shiny and, for want of a better description, fluffy. If you still have hair, give this product a try.Recommended.
Great shampoo experience but no noticeable glossiness
This “Brilliant Glossing Shampoo” cleans my hair well, leaves it soft, and is a real pleasure to use: lots of lather with a light citrus/herbal/grassy fragrance. I was worried that its olive oil would weigh down my hair or make it seem dirtier sooner, but that has not happened. After three weeks of use, I don’t notice any increased “glossiness” but my hair looks good.
glossy and slick
The shampoo smells really good, and I can feel the smell throughout the day, even though I have short hair. It is thick almost as a paste, and you wonder how you can actually apply it, but as soon as it hits water, it loosens to the perfect consistency. It does make my hair glossy, but it also make it limp and make it stick to the scalp. And it makes my scalp itch, probably due to salicylic acid?
I have always loved Fekkai shampoos. This glossing shampoo smells great and rinses out thoroughly. I have very very thick hair and that is important to me. And yes my hair is shining and looks great. Perfect product at an excellent price. I will have to order more.
Loyal Fekkai Customer
Great Fekkai shampoo leaves my hair shiny and smooth. Infused with olive oil, this shampoo has a light floral scent. Have been using this for many years, with good results. New packaging, same formula.
This shampoo certainly smells and feels luxurious. Thick consistency and a great floral smell. However it does contain Sulfates which are harsh on my scalp and wreck havoc on my highlights. It says that this contains olive oil for the glossing effect. I’m not really sure it made my hair shinier. I would not have requested this to review if I had read the ingredient list in advance.
Phenomenal smell! Good shampoo.
This shampoo smells wonderful – lightly floral but not overpowering – the olive oil is noticeable. I have hard time styling my hair the day after washing with this because it really does remove oil well leaving my hair very slick (my hair is extremely thick and long, blonde if it matters). I would not say it is overly moisturized though – more as if there is a coating of something over it (probably the olive oil). This results in somewhat flatter hair (a plus for me as my hair tends to want to poof despite the weight of it); however it looks a bit flat on the top. If my hair were straight and I needed volume, this would be a big negative. On the plus side, my scalp seems more moisturized and the mister really loves the lingering smell of olive oil (me too!).I am not 100% certain that it is any better than other glossing shampoos I have tried, and I still need to use my Carol’s Daughter clarifying shampoo biweekly to prevent build-up with this.I am taking off a star for the white ring on the top of the bottle & that it is costly for what it is. The extra plastic just wasteful and it makes it look like the bottle is bigger than it actually is.
Yes, GORGEOUS! I mean really, really GORGEOUS!! Of course, I am being redundant, but I really mean it. I used this shampoo both alone and with the Fekkai conditoner — both times the results were fabulous. My hair is long, curly/wavy, color treated and I am need of a haircut, which I am resisting at present. When I used this product I was amazed by the results. My hair felt sleek, but not oily. The shine was really brilliant, even in house lighting. When it was dry, I could run my hands through it, and it just felt so good! Now, I have read and heard lately that shampoo that lathers is damaging to your hair. All I can say is that if this is damage — bring it on! I will definitely be back for more of this product and highly recommend it to others.Go buy this stuff and you will not be disappointed. Good smell, good cleaning, easy rinsing — no problems and all praise. Really excellent shampoo, that’s for sure.
just shampoo…but in a very nice bottle
This shampoo had some amazing reviews, so maybe my expectations were too high but um…this is just shampoo that I don’t think works particularly better than other shampoo or make my hair shinier or anything. It doesn’t lather up that much, but still gets hair clean and it works well. Also, the bottle is very cool looking and I do like/use Fekkai products in general, so this is something I might buy (even though it’s expensive) just to have a bottle that matches my other products. The smell is kind of herbal and I like that you can see how much is left in the bottle. Also, the whole top part comes off easily, so if you wanted to refill it with something else after you finished the bottle, you could.
The best thing about this shampoo is it’s scent.Beyond that, nothing special about it.Doesn’t really add any extra shine to hair.Decent product but nothing extraordinary.
Might Be the Right Product if You Live in a Wet Environment
I’ve been using this product for nearly a month now, and it’s not rocking my hair world. My hairs feel thick but not nice thick, thick like its been coated thick. And on day two (I don’t wash my hair every day) it really feels weighted down and stringy. On the plus side, my hair was shiny, but it didn’t feel fabulous. As with all Fekkai hair care products, you don’t need a lot to get your hair clean and conditioned, but my hair still felt like I had used too much product. This might be a good hair care product if you live a wet, humid environment. For me however, it didn’t do anything for my hair.
It cleans very well and smells nice. My hair is shiny. If it didn’t cost so much, I’d buy it again.
Nice complement to the other Fekkai Glossing products
This shampoo has a light attractive fragrance and makes your hair soft and silky to the touch. It takes only a small amount of shampoo to create a thick lather. I already use the Brilliant Glossing Crème and this new shampoo is a nice addition to this line of hair products.
I’ve been a fan of the glossing cream for years. I never really thought about putting the regime together, I just used the cream after whichever shampoo/conditioner combo I was using at the time. However, never again… this shampoo is amazing and leaves my hair shiny and smooth. The scent is described as a floral botanical, which might be accurate to some scent profiles, but I smell a clean citrus. Regardless of what it is, the scent is amazing to me. Clean, pretty, and not overwhelming or heavy.I haven’t used the shampoo solo, my hair is too thick and wavy to not follow up with something to tame it, but it left it feeling soft and not knotted in the time between rinsing and using a conditioner. It has a rich lather, and is just all around wonderful shampoo.I will be using this for a looooong time! (In fact, I don’t know what took me so long in the first place!)
Nice shine, good smell
I liked this shampoo — I found that it only took a very small amount to work up a decent lather, so the price is not as extra anagrams as it may seem. It gave me a shiny head of hair, no matter what conditioner I used it with…my hair is blonde, so this is expecially noticeable. I was pleased with the scent of this shampoo too — kind of a nice herbal or plant-based smell.
decent shampoo, nothing special
I love their glossing creme, and I’ve been wanting to try their shampoo and conditioner forever. I finally got a chance, and although it’s a pretty nice shampoo, it didn’t WOW me the way the glossing creme does. The smell is unremarkable as well. If I’m buying a premium shampoo, I’ll probably look elsewhere.
Leaves hair super shiney and soft, love it!
This is an amazing product, one of the best shampoo and conditioners I have used! It is pretty concentrated too, so you don’t use very much. My dry sun bleached hair is silky and shiney and feels so soft to the touch. I love the shea shampoo by Fekkai too. It costs a bit more then what I usually spend but I always alternate with other shampoo brands anyway, so it goes a long way and as good as it works I don’t mind the cost, it really is worth the money. My husband loves this product line and is always taking it out of my bathroom, so I will probably be buying more soon. Try this line, this is excellent shampoo.
Lovely shampoo, but not for me
My 3 star review may be a result of my particular hair type and not as much the fault of the product. I am 60 and my baby fine, naturally curly hair has always been difficult and has gotten worse as I’ve gotten older (I also live where the summers are very humid). I have tried a whole series of shampoo/conditioners to try and reclaim some of the softness and shine it had. So far, the best combination I’ve found has been Pantene Damage Detox shampoo with L’oreal Total Repair. I don’t think I’ll switch again. I thought I’d give this one a try, but it didn’t work well for me. At first I liked it as my hair felt soft and wasn’t very frizzy, but the more I used it, the more coated my hair felt until I had to quit using it. I just didn’t like they way my hair felt. It seemed to weigh by hair down too much also. I never did see much difference in the shine either. On the good side, a little bit goes a long way, if you add water to your hands and rub them together. It doesn’t "activate" until you do. The suds are rich and nice. The fragrance is a tad strong, but then I’m very sensitive to perfumes.I think for someone with thicker hair with average body, and not curl, this would be a good product.
Seems like a quality product, just doesn’t do much for my hair.
I have weird hair. I used to have nice hair, then something happened (middle age) and suddenly I have this head of hair that’s at war with itself. About half of it is still my original blonde straight fine and glossy hair, the other half is this weird gray kinky stuff. Needless to say, it’s hard to find hair products that work for this mess. Harder still to find any product that tames the evil gray kinky stuff without completely flattening the fine blonde strands.I had high hopes for this shea-based shampoo, unfortunately I haven’t seen results that are any different than I get from cheap store-bought stuff. This feels almost honey-like when I pour it out, and works up to a very nice lather that feels good on my scalp and hair. The scent is nice, if a bit floral for my tastes. A downside is that it attracts insects, this is especially annoying when we’re hiking and every mosquito and bee seems to find me more interesting than the surrounding flora. My hair does feel very nice and soft after using this product and their conditioner, but I’d rather have it look nice than feel nice, and unfortunately it doesn’t help its appearance at all, so I’ll go back to my regular inexpensive shampoo and conditioner after this is gone.
It does make my hair shiny, but it also has caused it for form in ringlets unless blown dry. My hair has always been absolutely straight. The shampoo is quite effective and easy to use. The scent is an apple-citrus blend, which is better than most, but the label is too small to read in the shower. Some of us can’t tell the shampoo from the conditioner without our glasses, which we rarely wear while bathing. For the ladies, I highly recommend it. For guys, watch out for ringlets.
In your own world while shampooing
Besides smelling wonderful this product has always been one of my favorite shampoos because my hair is so much more luxuriously feeling after I shampoo it even help with my comb out even if I decide not to use a conditioner and just a mere doll up will do, I say just purchase it you won’t be sorry, and enjoy your senses!
Leaves My Hair Shiny and Good Smelling
This shampoo feels very rich. I have long fine hair. It leaves my hair clean and shiny without stripping it. Even though it doesn’t weigh my hair down, it does take quite a bit more rinsing than usual to get it all out of my hair after I’ve lathered.
Clean clean finish
Something simple about this shampoo that just cleans the hair..I mean really clean. Viscosity is low and yet effective..The summer heat leaves my hair limp and horrid, and this shampoo cleans nice and leaves my hair feeling fresh…works great with the conditioner too
Fekkai, product have become more difficult to find in the stores, and it’s wonderful to find this listed on Amazon. I’ve tried many products and this by far holds to the standard of leaving hair silky without effort. Continues to be my choice.
smells nice, keeps my fine, frizzy hair as manageable as any other product i’ve ever used. i think it’s a bit pricey, and i usually choose all natural products, but i’ll make an exception to keep this in my supply of hair care products.
