- Infused with Olive Oil.
- Glossing cream scented by a fresh floral garden.
- Lightweight crème polishes hair with luxuriantly lustrous radiance.
- Dull frizzy hair is nurtured to shine and smoothness.
- Tip from the Fekkai Salon: A little goes a long way with this lightweight, leave in styler. Use glossing cream sparingly.
I love this glossing creme by Fekkai!
I don’t know what is going on when I see other people giving this creme less than 5 stars. I love this glossing creme and have found it to be wonderful for taming my wild and crazy hair, and adding tons of shine as well!I have fine, graying hair which I color treat, and I really am particular about my hair. Fekkai usually comes through with good products, especially for people ( sigh … like me) who have troubles with frizzy hair as well. This product provides a smoothing quality which I find terrific. If you have marvelous, long, thick, silken tresses, hey!!! What are you reading this review for?Go become a hair model for Pete’s sake! But if you have incredibly frustrating hair like mine, try this.Fekkai Brilliant Glossing Creme is a good value price wise, and a very nice product. Thanks, jean
Great Glossing Creme
When Oprah first introduced me to Fekkai either through her O Magazine or her most wonderful things episode I was curious to try out the shampoo and conditioner. I finally found it on sale somewhere and quite honestly didn’t feel it lived up to her hype. Thought I’d try the glossing creme since I’m a hair product junkie. Here are the claims, as listed on Amazon, that the product makes:Infused with Olive Oil.Scented by a fresh floral garden.Lightweight creme polishes hair with luxuriantly lustrous radiance.Dull frizzy hair is nurtured to shine and smoothness.Tip from the Fekkai Salon: A little goes a long way with this lightweight, leave in styler. Use sparingly.Transform hair’s texture so it can truly shine. This lightweight creme with the brilliance of an oil lavishes hair with rich radiance to leave it smooth and glowing with vibrant shine.Used at the legendary Fekkai Salons.First let me reiterate that a little goes a long way. The first day I used this I used about a hefty quarter size glob. I don’t think my hair ever dried that day. From then on I experimented with the amount and finally for my hair length (shoulder) settled on a dime size glob.I’m a big olive oil person. Eating and using as a skin oil and hair conditioner (even though it takes forever to wash it out) so the product says it has olive oil in it and this is a claim I can’t prove of course, but I love the way it feels on my hands and in my hair as I’m applying it.The product does have a nice smell to it. I’m sensitive to shampoos and conditioners and other hair product smells and this is a nice one.My hair is not dull and frizzy to begin with, but it dryer especially in the winter. I did find that the glossing creme brought out the shine in it and helped it style more easily.Since I can’t afford to have my hair done at a Fekkai salon, this is a good alternative when I want glossy and smooth looking hair. I love this product and it more than makes up for my disappointment in their shampoo and conditioner!
ME LADY LOVES IT
I got this for her as I thought she would like it since she complains some times about her hair getting frizzy. I personally never notice this but she does I guess, so here we go. Since she started using it she loves it and says it keeps the frizz down, also she likes the smell.
Brilliant Glosser, Wonderful Smell
A product my girlfriend really likes. Here’s what she says. Fekkai products are high-end styling aids; I have tried several different ones as samples and they are really fantastic. This 4-oz tube of brilliant glossing creme is the first styling product I’ve tried (the other products were shampoos/conditioners). True, it retails for around $15-20, which is a bit cost-prohibitive, but…WOW, it works so well! On the back of the tube, it states that “dull frizzy hair is nurtured to shine and smoothness” – and it sure does that! A little goes a long way (there’s a warning on the back about that) and it doesn’t weigh hair down – it smooths and shines beautifully for my dark hair (fine, wavy-curly and prone to frizziness). The smell is gorgeous as well – an herbal/flower scent that is sophisticated and very present, although not cloying. I don’t like using hair spray on my hair after using this, because I want to keep the lovely scent! In fact, if Fekkai sold a hairspray with that scent, I might justpony up for that too. It lives up to its name as a brilliant glosser for hair – EXCELLENT product!
Fekkai Brilliant Glossing Creme
I have very dry hair, especially in the winter months so cremes and serums are always something I’m looking to try. This creme was just okay. It smells really nice but it made my hair greasy and even with that didn’t control the fly-aways. I like the Toni&Guy Smoothing Lotion much better and it’s less expensive. This one just didn’t work for me.
YES AND NO
Long a fan of hair products by Frederic Fekkai I couldn’t wait to try this Brilliant Glossing Cream. After all, who doesn’t want shinier, glossier hair?To their credit the Fekkai folks cautioned in their directions that “a little goes a long way” and to use sparingly. So, having fine short hair I began with a lima bean size dollop. Uh-uh – my hair looked greasy and was weighed down.Next, I tried a pea size which did nothing. It seems this product would be great for those blessed with thick hair but for those folically deprived best not to try.
gives excellent non oily shine to hair
This adds a gorgeous shine to my very thick coarse wavy hair without a heavy oily feel. It does an excellent job taming the curly fly always and it has a very fresh clean floral fragrance.
Fantastic hair for days
This is by far my favorite Fekkai product. I received it as a Prime member. I have also long been a loyal customer of Fekkai’s products. This product keeps my hair looking in place, glossy (healthy) and styled without any greasiness or heaviness. The most amazing part of it is that my hair could look the same for another day or even two!It is like a leave-in conditioner with a light-weight styling effect in it. It works very well with my hair. My hair is fine and straight and in small volume. I rub very little into my hand and comb it through the bottom part my hair after blowdrying and sometimes curling, and then it just stays the way I like it to be for another day and even two, depending on the weather. It also makes my hair look radiant and healthy. It does not look shiny like oily or stiff. I am sure that if there is too much of the product or the product is rubbed onto the wrong part of the hair, near the root, it could weigh down the hair and have the opposite effect. The cream has a beautiful, elegant and light floral scent, which I love. I can’t say enough good things about it!
Good styling cream
I have thinning and very dry hair so I’m always trying to find products that will soften it and bring some luster back. Generally, I find that cream products make my hair stiff and difficult to comb. Many make my hair feel like cardboard. So, I’ve stuck with some of the "oil" products out there as they at least make my hair easier to comb out the tangles after I wash it and make it feel a little softer. The Fekkai cream works pretty well, although not quite as good as oil as far as detangling freshly washed hair. It does not make my hair too stiff after it dries and the first day after washing, it did bring some of the healthy luster back. I don’t wash my hair everyday, so I can say that by day 2, some of the luster was gone, but not all of it. The ends, while not totally soft, were not as stiff as other cream products I’ve tried. And one nice benefit is that it really assisted with styling, which is something that oils tend not to do. My hair is wavy and using the cream brought some of the waves back to life. On the whole, I really liked the product as it seemed to be a good compromise to make my hair seem a little healthier and bring the wave back. It also had a nice, light flowery fragrance with notes of honeysuckle. If you’re looking for a product that brings a bit of softness and gloss back to your hair while still helping with the styling, this might be just the right one for you.
Like This But Not For Shine
I have a lot of shoulder length hair but it’s extremely fine and very prone to frizz. A dime size amount ( ok on a really bad day 2 dimes) rubbed into the worst offending strands smooths everything out magically. But I don’t get any shine and that’s really the products main stated purpose. Also it makes my hair a bit piecey , so unless I start going frizzy I don’t immediately grab this. So while it’s about the best de-frizzer I have ever used, for me there was no brilliance and my hair can edge a bit toward oily so I would have thought shine wouldn’t have been a problem.
Weightless and Nice Scent
This product has a nice smell to it, almost reminds me of an oceany, beach scent. I also like how after applying it, it made my hair feel weightless, very light. It doesn’t really add a conditioning softness to my hair, but there is a slight glossy look. All in all, it does feel nice in my hair and leaves a faint, but pleasnt scent. After using my straightener, it looked a bit more smooth and shiny too. Not quite as "glossy" as I imagined, but it is nice.
A little dab will do the trick–giving your hair a notable shine without oil.
If you like the luster that a good hair oil can bring to your locks, but still aren’t crazy about an oil’s slick texture, Fekkai Brilliant Glossing Creme is an ideal solution.Just a little bit of this nice, lightweight cream, melts into the air and leaves it feeling soft and looking shiny and healthy thanks to its olive oil formula and its smells really nice, too, with a pleasant floral scent that isn’t too perfume-y.And although it’s on the pricier side, the 4-oz container lasts a long time, since just a small amount goes a very long way–resist the temptation to squeeze out as much as you’d normally use with cheaper stuff or it will leave your hair looking greasy.
Fekkai is the BEST PRODUCTS EVER
My hair is untamable… seriously, it’s a mass riot of waves, straight and greys that ever existed together on a scalp. I hate my hair so much, so many times. Right now it is long because I’ve got no idea what to do with it. When I actually take the time to put some wave into it, I want it sleek on top where the greys tend to ping and stand out because of it. With the Fekkai Brilliant Glossing Creme, I can actually get everything to lay in the layers that I have. Also, my hair looks shiny without looking oily. A huge difference that many creams, gels and glossing products do not do. There is no heaviness when I use this creme either, and I can rub it into my hands and face for some moisturizing benefit. The olive oil base is nice, and while it doesn’t have a lovely scent, it’s not an unpleasing scent. It’s mostly without one actually. If Fekkai products were not so expensive, I’d give them five stars, but they are a bit costly. However, we do find occasional good deals at Walgreens. So maybe keep an eye out for them there.
Haven’t really noticed a glossy shine
I have very thick, somewhat coarse hair. It’s not smooth and shiny. It has a bit of curl and some days frizz. I know the name Frederick Fekkai and his fame for hair products so I thought that this could be what the answers to my prayers. It wasn’t. I’ve used this product now for about a month and I haven’t noticed any more shine than normal and my hair can still be frizzy and times. It does smell good, and it goes on weightless and doesn’t leave my hair feeling greasy or that feeling you get when there is too much product in your hair. All of that is well and good, but it doesn’t really do what I bought it for. And at a list price of 19.99 it better do at least some of what it promises. Unfortunately that was not my experience. I’ll be using what I have left, but I won’t be ordering this again. I’ve had better luck with Aveda products, and I recently saw that a competitor will be carrying Carol’s Daughter products in it’s stores, so I may try that instead.
“Slicks and Shines” – says it all
I generally love Fekkai shampoos and hair-care products, and this one is no exception. A really small amount goes a long way to giving my hair a less frizzy and coarse look, imparting shine and, well, slickness. The fragrance is pleasant but light, and so long as you don’t use much, it’s not greasy or heavy. Definitely worth a try, especially if you have thick, dull hair.
Glossing Creme not so Brilliant
infused with olive oil, smells like flowery things, polishes your hairs, boring hair is now exciting to others, a little goes a long way..a lot doesnt make the little long way any better.I have used so many glossing cremes, I should be freaking shiny all the time. I am not. This one , smells really good, and does leave my hair feeling….a bit conditioned-ish..but it did not make it shine like the top of the chrysler building.
Solid cream for the price, but not a miracle product
For context, I have blonde hair that is slightly longer than shoulder length and thick and slightly coarse in texture. My hair is color treated and heat styled regularly so it tend to take quite a beating. I’ve been applying this to my damp hair before blowdrying and flat ironing. When using this in combination withFekkai Prx Oil 1.6 Fl Ozmy hair definitely looks healthier and less damaged than when I blow-dry and flat iron without any product. That said, I think the claim of ‘transforming’ my hair is probably a bit of a stretch because while this does help my hair stay healthy, it is hardly a miracle product. At the end of the day, my hair is still on the dryer, coarser end of things, even if it does look healthier. With any of these products I think it is about going in with the right expectations.I did like this product, though for my purposes I’ll likely stick with my existing styling product Davines This is a Moisturizing Fluid over this product because it does all the things this Fekkai product does and also seems to help my hair get straighter with blow drying alone so I have to flat iron less. If this Fekkai product did that as well, I’d be sold.Overall I think this is a solid cream for the price, but not a miracle product.
Healthy Looking Hair
Fekkai is a great brand and I love trying their products. I love their PRX Reparative oil and this product is pretty good too. It adds a silky texture to hair and make hair shinier. It doesn’t really condition like an oil but it does seem to add more shine and strength to my fine hair. I gave this product four stars because I have used shine products that also add a little conditioning and while this makes hair silky it doesn’t add a lot to my dry ends and there are products for the same price that add more conditioning. This is pretty much a high gloss formula to make hair shine, but for that, it works great.
Three Heads, Three (somewhat different) Thoughts
I picked this cream up to help control the static in my hair and also smooth my (2) daughter’s fabulous locks. Here are our, somewhat disparate, thoughts:1. Me – I am on the north side of 40 and have had to color my hair for decades due to a family early-graying curse. I have long thick hair that is prone to frizzy curls. I use the John Frieda shampoo and conditioners (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005MIFD3O/ref=wms_ohs_product?ie=UTF8&psc;=1 and http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005MIFD1G/ref=wms_ohs_product?ie=UTF8&psc;=1) and these help keep the frizz down but I would love to have frizz-free lovely shiny bouncy curls.Appearance and Application: this product comes in the standard cream tube and application is pretty much what you would expect, dispense a dime sized portion into your hand and work through your hair. Then, for good measure, comb it through to spread evenly.Scent: This product is lightly florally scented. I am sensitive to smells but had no allergic response to this cream.Effectiveness: I really like this cream, it made my hair smoother and noticeably glossier. It did not get rid of all my static but we are in a dry time of year and there is a lot of it going on right now. I did feel that the product worked better when smoothed on already dry hair than when applied to wet hair and left to dry.Price Point: This product is on the pricey side for hair smoothing creams but, particularly if you take advantage of the “subscribe and save” option, it isn’t ridiculously overpriced.2. Daughter #1 – young adult, uses same shampoo and conditioner as I do and also uses their mousse. (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006OHM1M8/ref=wms_ohs_product?ie=UTF8&psc;=1) She has long very curly hair and a really nice head of it. Her hair tends to be unmanageably curly if she does not have product in it. She left off the mousse for trial purposes when using this product.Appearance and Application: See above.Scent: She thought the scent was “so-so”. She does not have any allergic responses to scents and prefers a more strongly scented product.Effectiveness: Wet and Dry Hair: she thought the product was less effective than her normal mousse. I have to say that her hair looked like it had more static than it typically does but it also had a nice gloss to it.3. Daughter #2 – she is a young teen with relatively straight hair that is given to static and frizz. She also uses the same shampoo and conditioner and no other product.Appearance and Application: See above.Scent: She liked the smell of the product but said it isn’t her favorite scent.Effectiveness: Wet hair: we let her hair hang loose to dry. (Normally both of us braid our hair to dry. My eldest daughter does not.) When dried her hair had less static on top but quite a lot of static on the bottom. Dry hair: this product worked very well, especially on the top of her head. (We applied product to the lower end of her hair and then worked it into the upper section when we combed it through. As I said, I really like this product and will probably incorporate it into my daily routine. My eldest will stick to her standard mousse and my youngest is still on the fence.Recommended.
Fekkai Brillian Glossing Creme
I read the reviews so I knew to only use a small amount. I have graying, color treated hair that is fine but not thinning. In short, it’s blah.I was really excited but I guess I expected great things from such a respected name like Fekkai. The first application did absolutely nothing for my frizzy ends. The second time I added a tiny bit more and for an hour, it looked great. The frizz was controlled and my hair was sleek and shiny. Then further ino the day, my hair went from sleek to sleazy. It was so oily and flat that I wanted to go home and wash it.The best advise I can give is to find the happy medium from too little to too much and then meticulously measure the amount you put in your hair every day. To me it’s not worth the hassle.
If you want to enjoy a little pampering, this is a nice little splurge. It smells so lovely and clean. It doesn’t feel greasy, and adds a believable bit of shine to my hair. My hair is straight, black Asian hair. When I use some oils and other sheen-type products sometimes it looks to shiny to be believed, which I don’t care for. It does not weigh my hair down; which is a plus because my hair is already pretty heavy. The 4 ounce size should last a while as you don’t need very much product to give a little oomph to your hairdo.
Oh, my, I love this product!
I have that sort of naturally curly hair that has a mind of its own, and sometimes (often times) is just down-right fuzzy. This product goes on wet or dry hair. It feels like silky hand lotion – not heavy, or oily. I brush it into my hair with a wet brush to make sure it is evenly distributed, then let it air dry, for very natural and shiny looking curls. -I use a small grape-sized portion every time (I have lots of long, thick hair). You can also smooth it onto dry hair, which I have also done and I’m always surprised when I glance in the mirror to see my hair, which is no longer frizzy or fuzzy looking. I am extremely happy with the look and feel of my hair when I use this product.
Love it. Smooths and glosses and is very necessary in my beauty care regiment.
Love it. I’m a product junkie. The smell on this stuff is fantastic, very lemon drops and sunshine. The consistency is. Dry smooth and keeps fly a ways at bay and helps smooth hair before a blow dry. I like to take a dime sized amount and rub it on my ends and low dry. I get smooth silky gorgeous curled under ends.I have three favorite smoothing creams …….and this has been the first one I have grabbed for days. The oil in the cream really adds to the smoothing and shine for your hair. So many hair care products have oil or are some kind of oil based products because a little oil really helps out in the beauty world.
My hair is unruly, so it is difficult for me to properly assess the advantage of using one product over another. That said, this made my hair shiny and soft, so I was happy with it. But I wouldn’t go so far as to say the shine was brilliant.
revitalizes dry ends & pleasant aroma
I had heard great things about the Fekkai line of hair products and recalled trying a sample of the shampoo and conditioner which left my hair very soft and smooth. With the very dry winter, the ends of my hair needed a boost most days and since using the Fekkai glossing creme I’ve noticed an improvement of the look of the ends. I like using only a small amount on bottom half of my hair (not close to roots) since too much of any styling product tends to weigh down hair or make it look greasy. I found this glossing creme to have a really lovely scent that isn’t too overpowering and doesn’t make hair feel sticky, just smooth and hydrated.
Really worked to detangle my hair
I have long hair that falls to my lower back. It is also very fine and thin. It tangles faster than you can say "Rapunzel," especially in the winter when it’s dry inside due to heaters. I recently switched to an organic shampoo and it’s been taking me forever to comb out my hair after washing it because it tangles so much. I had the opportunity to try the Fekkai Brilliant Glossing Creme via Amazon Vine and thought it was worth a shot.I apply it after getting out of the shower, then comb my hair. It’s definitely made the job a lot easier, where other products that I’ve tried have failed. Because I’m using it mostly on my ends (from my ears down), I haven’t had a problem with it looking greasy. There is a light floral scent, but it is not one that sticks with you like many product smells do.On the Environmental Working Group database, it’s rated as "moderate" concern at a 5, mostly because of fragrance and methylchloroisothiazolinone. Methylchloroisothiazolinone is a preservative that can cause allergic skin reactions, so if you have sensitive skin, this would not be a good product choice for you. It also does not leave my hair "glossy" as I’d define it. It’s smooth and soft to the touch, but it doesn’t look glossy.Overall, I’m happy with the product, though, and would purchase it for my own use.
Really nice stuff, but……
This is really nice stuff, but it does nothing for my ends. In fact, I kinda think this is making my ends feel even more dry than normal?!Anyhoo, I recommend for thicker, coarser hair because this stuff feels a little heavy and maybe a little greasy. It does feel very nice once my hair is dry.The very first time I used it one of my co workers asked what I had used in my hair that morning, so in that regard… Success!
Not as good as other products for my hair – requires more
Disclaimer: my hair is a massive undertaking – it’s thick, it can’t decide on one texture, and it is very long. I am well aware I ask a lot of my hair products.I have a lot of fly-aways and a dry summer and winter have left my hair lacking luster despite my best efforts. I really like the Fekkai shampoos, but this was a no-go for me. The smell was strong and a bit too floral. I required far more product than my Sojourn serum – I think something like a nickel to quarter sized dollop compared to a pea sized. It just did not seem to absorb into my hair well – I felt like my ends were still dry but at the same time rather than be glossy it looked more like it was sitting on top of the strands and rather greasy. I suspect someone with straight locks that could use less would have better results. The Sojourn serum feels like it absorbs and reflects light without weighing my hair down or darkening it like Moroccan oil does (I’m blonde). What is funny is that I was feeling a little underwhelmed with my Sojourn until trying this as I have to apply it daily regardless of if I washed my hair.Bottom line: it just did not perform as well as what I already use despite the shampoo & conditioner from the same line being wonderful – based on my personal experience with my dry hair I would recommend Sojourn Serum Smooth, which smooths my fly-aways, adds shine and leaves my hair feeling moisturized. This may be better for someone looking for gloss without the moisture.
Really Great Product!
As the package says, a little goes a long way. Makes hair managably ready to be styled; put a little on, comb or brush to desired style and voila — it holds and holds and holds. Great for hair that doesn’t respond well to ordinary gels and creams. A winner!
It made my hair shinier
It does work pretty well. It did give my hair a bit of a shine and it conditions well. Read the directions before use though. If you use too much you will make your hair oily. But if you use just a touch you’ll get some nice results.
