Wonderful Stuff but Pricey!
I love the plain list of ingredients in this salve. It’s simply olive oil, beeswax, honey, bee pollen, royal jelly, bee propolis and love. Yes, it says that on the label. I’ve heard you can make your own version at home, which is probably true since the ingredients aren’t complicated. This stuff does not smell like something you want to eat, but has a sharp natural smell to it instead. It doesn’t smell like honey, either. I’m fine with that because this stuff is a great a night time moisturizer for my face. It’s too greasy for daytime use as far as I’m concerned. But for night, well, I love the way it sinks in and that there’s no worrisome ingredients (I use mostly natural products). I have sensitive, acne-prone combination skin, and this is so good at soothing redness and fading acne scars. It also speeds up the healing of existing blemishes. It’s got the texture of a hard lip balm, so if you just drag your fingertips across the top and warm it up in your hands, that’s enough product for your face. You have to massage it in, your face will look greasy and all, but it has never caused any break-outs on me. It has literally tons of uses listed on the jar, the only other purpose I’ve used it with success is as a spot de-frizzer for my hair when it’s dry. EM is not good as a lip balm though, just pretty basic, and it does not help with bruises as far as I’ve experienced. I did have a bad cold awhile back that left me with a red, peeling nose, and this stuff did an incredible job of taking care of it within a couple days. Awesome. I feel that this stuff is overpriced for what it is, a salve made out of mostly household ingredients, but a 4 oz tub will probably last me at least six months. And that’s with using it every night. It costs $[…] at Whole Foods, so I’ll probably order from amazon.com next time. It’s got so many uses that I recommend it and feel it’s a great buy and a medicine cabinet staple, especially for people trying to use natural products.
It’s not what I was expecting, but I like it.
I ordered this product from Vitacost a few weeks ago and even through it’s not what I was expecting, I still like it. I first learned about Egyptian Magic on Pinterest when Lauren Conrad was talking about how much she (and other celebrities she knows) liked this product. The label claims the product is an “All Purpose Cream” and even through I agree it is all purpose, it’s not a cream; it’s a balm/salve. It absorbs quickly and I noticed my skin was much more soft after about a week in a half to two weeks. I have combination skin and it doesn’t seem to clog my pores- so far, at least. I use this at night after my Argan oil has completely soaked in and then apply the Egyptian Magic over it. It’s a bit too moisturizing for day time, but I enjoy using it at night.
Helps with break outs and makes skin super soft.
I use this at night. Every other night. When I feel a breakout coming on, I use it, and by morning all my pores are open and all I need to do it wash my face and its clear! I also use it on my hands just three times a week and they are noticeably softer. This stuff is great.Cons: to work it needs to stay on for an expended period of time and it is like putting olive oil on your face so you definitely have to wash your face/hair after using so it eliminates showering before bed.
Solved a major problem
This is my wife’s review: Egyptian Magic is a very effective cream to treat the itching and burning of skin irritations. The olive plant base is soothing, and the other ingredients (mostly natural by-products from bees) make for a great combination. I got this on the recommendation of my doctor, and it seems to have completely resolved a very irritating condition that has been nagging me for many months. We tried several other prescription medications, but this over-the-counter product seems to be the answer. It’s odorless, which also is a plus.
i really like this product, however it is a bit expensive. located a similar product in my local WalMart which is acceptable.
