Ecotools 6 Brush Set
Wow. SUPER FAST shipping. Ordered on 21st got them on the 23rd! VERY HAPPY. Brushes are exactly what I wanted. AWESOME. They are just over 4″ in length. So I could see why some say they are tiny. Me personally, I have small hands. Works perfect for me! Plus I wear glasses, so I have to get really close to the mirror when Im doing my make-up. Long brushes are hard to move around & work within a few inches of a mirror. (YES Im blind! lol) I very very pleased!
the case is…ugly and doesn’t seem productive. the brushes are no softer than a few brushes i already own of some random brand. shapes of the brushes are useless to me. they look sorta bulky. not what i was expecting at all.the length of the brushes however are good size for me since my hands are small. but that’s the only good part of it… return…
Pretty much useless!
This brush set isn’t really good at all for applying eyeshadow. The brushes aren’t sized correctly and don’t pick up shadow well. The set is missing a firm, flat brush for packing shadow onto the lid. It is also missing an angled eyeliner brush. The blending brush is big and has an odd shape. The crease brush is huge and not good for creases. It just makes a mess. Also, the envelope to hold the brush is a rough texture and gets dirty easily. The ONLY brush I use is the highlight brush to apply my highlight shade and blend out the edges of my eyeshadow. I occasionally use the smudge brush to smudge out eyeliner in a pinch, but it’s scratchy and not quite the right shape. Personally, I am happier investing in good quality brushes that are perfect for the job and not buying cheap brushes that don’t cut it. Yeah, good makeup brushes are expensive but they make a HUGE difference in how your eyeshadow comes out.I use: Mac 239 or Urban Decay Good Karma brush (the one that comes with the Naked Palette) to pack on eyeshadow, the Mac 219 to smudge or define my crease, the mac 217 to blend. Then I use the highlight brush from this set.
Politically correct review
Ok, my review may not be politically correct but it is just my opinion which I hope will be helpful to others. This is an eyeshadow brush set. If you are asian, these might be a tad big for you. Example, the brush marked “crease” which is the 2nd largest is literally the size from your eyelash base all the way upto your brow. This is way too big to be used for asian crease, so i use this for either blending or possibly brow highlight. The largest brush which is marked “blending”…this I am not sure what to use for, it’s more like the size of the a foundation brush for not as stiff. the remaining 3 are small brushes which you can just use for basic shadow. my favorite is the smallest marked “smudge”, I actually use this brush when applying eyeshadow color to my lower lash line. Also, if you were expecting a stiff slanted brush (for the eyebrow) like me, this does not have one.All in all, i am ok with the set. I think i can find use for the 3 smaller brushes but not too much for the 2 larger brush. i could have returned it but since the price was very reasonable, i didn’t want to bother sending it back.Aside from the above, which is no fault of the product, it is a nice set of brush.
I found the three products that I ordered to be too stiff, smell bad, and not at all comfortable for the hand. They are cheap and it shows in all ways.I should have sent them all back to Amazon – instead I tried to make do with them as replacements for my Bare Escentuals brushes and they simply will not do the job for me.
Not sure what all the fuss is about…
I’m not sure why exactly everyone raves about these brushes. I bought them several months ago thinking I’d give them a try since they’re cheap and highly rated, however I’ve used them only a handful of times before quickly setting them aside. Makeup application was messy every time I used them, with substantial eyeshadow fallout under the eyes, around the bridge of the nose, and on the cheekbones. I tried the brushes with high-end as well as drugstore brand eyeshadows, but I saw little difference in quality of application. Of the three larger brushes, I only found the dome-shaped brush to be of any use, as it was good for applying shadow to the crease of the lid. The largest of the three is simply too large for an eyeshadow brush, in my opinion, with the cut of the bristles making it ineffective at picking up shadow. I never ended up finding a good use for the angled brush. Of the other two brushes, the small, flat one would have been good for applying eyeshadow all over lid for an even wash of color had it been a little bigger. The smallest brush seemed like it wanted to be either a pencil brush, for which it was too small, or a smudge brush, for which I found the bristles to be too prickly. Overall, I’m sure that in a pinch these brushes would do, however for a little more money I was able to build a collection of MUG, Bdellium, Sonia Kashuk, and Sigma brushes, all of which are of much higher quality and very reasonably priced. If you’re a makeup perfectionist like me, don’t waste your money on this set.
“Eco” in HUGE PLASTIC CASE
The brushes are nice and the set is cute, as many others have pointed out. However, these “eco” products arrive in very large, thick plastic cases, and stink of PVC – How “eco” is that?? I will return them – After all, we vote with our wallets, folks. (I ordered the 6-piece set containing 5 brushes and a travel case, as well as the kabuki set – Both come in large, plastic packaging and were originally shipped from China – so much petroleum and industrial waste goes into the manufacture and shipping of these products – I can’t justify keeping them).
They are useless
I found that these brushes were too soft. They didn’t pick up color.I managed to brushmake the crease brush work for blending but that’s about it. When i purchased the other pouch they were stiff!! I used the stiff ones when i do wet makeup.the only brushes that worked was the jumbo blush brush, it is very soft. I wouldn’t repurchase nor would i recommend
I ordered these along with the Kabuki Brush Set and I am not happy.. The powder doesn’t stay on the brushes and they are cheap looking.. I was expecting so much more.. Very disappointed.
There is nothing special about these brushes (to me) except they are convenient to travel with. I can definitely tell the difference in using these and my higher quality brushes.
Would Not Recommend
Yuck! Hate these brushes… if I could give no stars I would. I tried to use these brushes a few times but now they just sit in a drawer and I will NEVER use them again. The bristles are soft, I’ll give them that, but the brushes don’t blend well or apply well. The brushes are TOO fat.
For the most part, these brushes are great. They are very soft, pick up eyeshadow well and work good for blending. The 3 bigger brushes are awesome, but the 2 smaller ones are kind of useless, I think. They come in a cute case, and are great for travel, on the go, or everyday use. Cheaply priced but good quality. I’d recommend them for beginners or anyone on a budget.
Perfect for traveling or using on you purse. It is small so it could fit in your purse, but is not small enough that is hard to hold to do a good makeup.
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of these brushes. They have held up well after months of use. I like Bamboo products because they are a renewable resource and better yet, they don’t allow bacteria growth!
I’ve liked these brushes, but the scratchy texture is starting to get to me. When I start doing makeup several days in a row, my eyelids would get worn out and I have to take a break. I bought an e.l.f. Studio Eyeshadow “C” Brush and it’s so much softer on my eyes. It’s funny because that’s a cheap brush too. I also noticed these brushes don’t hold as much eye shadow as I want. I’m planning on buying more expensive brushes soon.
Let me say I usually do not buy anything without reading the reviews and the reviews for this product were pretty good so I decided to get it. Well the reviews did not lie because these brushes are wonderful and I now only use ecotool brushes, everyone should use them because not only are they friendly to the enviroment but they are really good make up brushes, I am currently buying the entire makeup brush set. Also if you are not familiar with the different functions of each brush there is a description on the back of the package to help you understand what each one does.
I had purchased the foundation brush from EcoTools and I absolutely loved it, so I decided to give these brushes a try. First of all, the brushes are a lot smaller than I expected, but I found that it was much easier to apply the makeup because they were easier to handle.I rated this four stars because I found that I only really use three of the brushes, but that may just be because I’m not experienced enough to use the other two (the two largest ones on the left.)I do definitely suggest buying these brushes though! EcoTools provides very high quality brushes for such an amazing price. I haven’t seen any shedding in my brushes (all six of these AND my foundation brush) since I’ve gotten them about a month ago.
bamboo brush set
I like these a lot. I don’t really have any experience with make-up so this was my first set of brushes. They do the job well and are inexpensive. they are soft and clean well. Have not had any problems with bristles coming out either. Good product.
I’m a big fan of EcoTools brushes. I love how easy to use and control they are. Really great value!
Nice purse sized brushes
The brushes are soft and have not really shed much. I might add that they are purse size and when you fold the package it is appx 5 1/2 in long and 2 1/2 inches wide and is very flat. Perfect for the purse and applies pretty well.
Gets the job done
These brushes are a great fit for gym bags and travelling. Although the EcoTools brushes get the job done, they can’t touch my Bare Minerals brushes and the results I get from them.
They are the perfect size, very smooth and soft, and well cut edges. Love the little case! They fit perfect in my pocket and purse!
These work pretty well and are a great alternative to higher-priced counterparts. They get the job dome with minimal droppage and I will buy again.
Super soft brushes and small enough that they fit in your purse. They are labeled in case you aren’t sure which brush is for what. Very handy!
The only thing I wish was different is the size of the two largest brushes because they’re just too big for my eyes.
Ecotools Eyebrush set
Just picked up these brushes this week. I was in the market for some new brushes and really did not want to spend a fortune. I had just recently lost my makeup bag with my good brushes and needed to replace them. So I saw these and the great reviews… I bought them and I absolutely LOVE them!! Great value for the small cost. The fact that they are bamboo handles and are supposed to be better for the environment was another plus. Also, the carrying case is very nice and not over the top or gaudy. I have actually recommended them to friends and some makeup artists. If you are in the market for brushes, I say give them a try. =)Ecotools Bamboo Eye Brush Set, 6 Piece
Very soft and good for the environment
I bought these after reading several reviews, and I am so glad I did. The brushes are lovely, very soft, and easily cleaned weekly with baby shampoo. They dry well and retain their shape. Being environmentally friendly seals the deal!
I purchased these over two years ago. And they have held up very well. I use these brushes on a daily basis. I like to apply wet eye shadow so I am constantly rinsing them with water and vigorously cleaning out one color eye shadow for another. They are as good as the day I purchased them. I usually do not like synthetic brushes but these are extremely soft and high quality. Great blending qualities. I recommend these to anyone. And for the price- they are a steal!
this was a good price set for the brushes and I love how small the brushes are making them great for travel. i use mine everyday!
First set of brushes!
This is my first set of brushes I’ve ever used or bought, these are great and they are labeled on the sticks so I know what to use them for, that was the hardest part for me. These are great! Thanks so much.
