doesn’t do anything
I kept using this every day for a month to see if over time it would do something, but my skin is no different. Don’t waste your money.
Beware if you have sensitive skin!
EDIT: I think it’s worth acknowledging the nearly unanimous five-star reviews on Amazon, and the discrepancies that arise from it. I cannot say anything about paid, sponsored, or “fake” reviews, but I know for sure Day by Day has used Tomoson to promote the product. I personally received a free bottle of Day by Day’s Vitamin C serum through that site, but I was NOT paid to write a review; however, some bloggers or reviewers may have received monetary compensation–I cannot tell you which ones, but just keep in mind some PR-friendly reviewers do choose to receive payment for their reviewing services. I also know that the company (Day by Day Beauty, or the owner, Pamela) thumbs down all critical/negative reviews of this product, which speaks for itself. I know they are a small company and all, but poo-pooing other people’s criticism will not make your product sell better…..I have been using this serum for a few weeks now, and while in some respect, I can feel my face absorbing my moisturizer better, I think it is too harsh on my skin. My skin has felt rougher the past few weeks, and I’ve had more acne outbreaks than usual. While acne and sensitive skin is a problem for me overall, it got noticeably worse after and while using this product. I had pretty smooth and blemish-free skin before using this product. The main product claims for this serum are that it minimizes wrinkles and fine lines AND helps with uneven skin tone. Overall it seems like this product would increase skin elasticity and give a “luminous glow” but none of these happened to me. I am not at that stage where I need to worry about wrinkles yet (I’m in the 18-24 age range), but the main reason I wanted to try this product was to even out my skin tone, for instance, for the sun damage and acne scarring. Sadly, this didn’t happen either, and it in fact exacerbated my acne. The serum itself is hardly a serum; its consistency is more like that of a toner. It looks like water, though maybe a little less clear (it has a translucent shade, like starchy water) but is just as runny as water. It does not have a particular fragrance (which is good, because I’d rather it be all-natural than have added fragrances), but it does have an almost-medicinal smell to it. It is not noticeable when applied, however, as it absorbs very quickly. It isn’t greasy at all but after putting it all over my face, my face does feel a little sticky and tacky, rather than soft and smooth. That’s why I definitely recommend using a moisturizer over this; the product itself does not really moisturize (even though it claims to have moisturizing ingredients). What I did love is the packaging. Rather than the dropper bottle that other serums use, this uses an easy, sanitary pump bottle. I like this because you don’t risk contaminating the entire bottle every time you open it, and also because it’s spill-proof (for when you’re traveling).I don’t think I would purchase this serum on my own. I will not be using it again after I finish my bottle, just because I don’t think it benefitted my skin at all.FTC Disclosure: I received one free sample bottle of this serum in order to write an honest and unbiased review. I was not paid or sponsored to write this review–positive or otherwise–and all thoughts and opinions are mine and mine alone.
Excellent product + Stellar customer service + 100% satisfaction guarantee = why so many 5 star reviews
I received a free bottle of this product to try and leave an honest review. I did not receive compensation for my review. I do not know the owners of this company. These disclaimers being mentioned based on comments that were made in some of the other reviews posted for the product. Before I begin, a couple of things: 1. I read through the reviews before writing my own so that I can address some of the reoccurring concerns and complaints in them. Leading me to: 2. It isn’t uncommon for breakouts to occur the first couple of weeks after changing a skincare routine. If the breakouts last longer than this, than it may be an incompatibility between the user’s skin type and the product OR the combination of ingredients in products being used at the same time. I also know that certain medications can cause acne and adding a product can activate this as well. I don’t think this product should be judged based on whether other users have experienced breakouts. There are too many unknowns as to why the breakout occurred and it is unlikely the same set of circumstances will be duplicated for two users.Secondly: There are some ridiculous claims in both the five star and lower star reviews that raise my necessity to remind readers to use logic. I’ve read that the company owners flag negative reviews as not being helpful. There is no way of knowing who votes a review as helpful or not. It is a claim with no basis. It is nothing more than gossip. As is pointing out how many 5-star reviews the product has. Having communicated with the owners, as well as seeing the number of questions personally answered by them on the product page, my first guess would have been that it is due to outstanding customer service and a good product. But hey…it is more dramatic to accuse paid promotion or something more sinister. Please use logic. There are also reviews claiming that the serum did nothing. No notations about how long it was used. Nothing to actually assist in making a proper judgment about whether or not it will work. There was one review stating there was no odor, texture, or taste and it did not work…is this because the person drank it? My favorite, is one that claims that it did tighten, but made no difference in looks. I would think that a tighter face would make a difference in ones looks. Apparently the user was expecting results equivalent to plastic surgery? Who knows…I don’t come across very many products with this many ridiculous negative reviews or so many with negative connotations that have no logical backing. If someone writes that they have sensitive skin and the product made it worse or skin became worse with treatment, then I feel that this is legitimate…but “I got a pimple so this product sucks” is not a fair review. I felt the need to acknowledge this.My experience:I have a set routine in the morning and products that I am happy with. Although the product is recommended for morning and evening use, I decided to use at night only. I usually go to bed with a bare face with the exception eye cream or an additive treatment when I am having a skin reaction to a food allergy. I washed my face and dried it. I didn’t use a toner. I applied the vitamin C serum. No moisturizer. I did use eye cream. I did experience painful breakouts the first week that cleared up by the end of the second week.Within a month my face was noticeably brighter. My skin tone was more even. Markings and redness from recent food allergy skin reactions had disappeared. They usually do, but this time they disappeared much quicker. My results continue to improve with use.Other things to note: As I mentioned earlier, this company offers excellent customer service. It is always a bonus. They are also quick to answer questions posted about their product. If the reviews have turned you off, throw up any questions that you have and base your decision on responses directly from the company. The product also comes in a dark bottle. Light will oxidize Vitamin C causing it to lose its effectiveness. Heat will do the same. In a question answered by the product creators, it is not necessary to store the product in the refrigerator, a medicine cabinet is fine. The product CAN be stored in the fridge. My overall impression: I think this is an effective product. I think the company represents itself well and offers honest claims about the product. I like that there is a 100% satisfaction guarantee on it. The price is reasonable. It isn’t a product that I necessarily feel that I can’t live without, however, it’s one I feel is worthwhile to have in my regime when my budget allows. I think that it is 5-star worthy. I fell this way without compensation from the company (go figure). This means it’s a really good product and worth a try because of the satisfaction guarantee.
Goes on Smooth, Clear and Non-Irritating.
I’ve tried other Vit C Serums for its obvious anti-aging benefits.Every bit of the research I’ve done says you really out to be using a Vitamin C Serum daily, but it always made me peel a lot. My cheecks got red, irritated, pores looked larger.I think I finally found one that does do that! The Best Vitamin C serum seems to agree with my skin, and its pretty odorless, clear liquid that spreads easily.
Waist the money…
it feels and smells nice, I’ve been using it for 6 months or more now and I don’t notice a difference on my face
It has some ingredients that I would rather not use.
I received one bottle of Day by Day Vitamin C Serum to review. When I put it on my face it feels good, making my skin feel smooth. I like the fact that it has a pump, instead of a dropper, so there is no chance of bacteria getting into the serum. There are a lot of great ingredients, but there three ingredients that I would rather not use, which are Carbomer, Phenoxy- ethanol and Ethyl Hexyl Glycerin.Ingredients:Ingredients: Deionized Aqua (Water), Organic Aloe Barbadensis Leaf (Aloe), Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate (Vitamin C), Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM), Cassia Angustifolia Seed Polysaccharide (Botanical Hyaluronic Acid), Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel), Kosher Vegetable Glycerin, Carbomer, Arginine, Organic Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba Oil), Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Phenoxy- ethanol, Ethyl Hexyl Glycerin, Organic Centella Asiatica (Gotu Kola Extract), Organic Equisetum Arvense (Horsetail Plant Extract), Organic Pelagonium Gravoleons (Geranium Extract), Organic Taraxacum Officinale (Dandelion Extract).
I absolutely love Day By Day Beauty Vitamin C serum!I live in Florida, where it’s hot and humid, so you really tend to feel ‘heavy’ or greasy products on your skin. That said, this product is absolutely perfect in this regard! It’s very light and it doesn’t leave your skin feeling greasy.Often, the light-feeling serums don’t really seem to make a difference. But this one made a noticeable difference. It left my skin smoother, firmer and moisturized. It absorbs into your skin very quickly too, so you don’t need to wait for a year and a day before you apply your makeup.I really like this product and I would recommend it. I plan to purchase it again in the future.
Great Vitamin C serum!
Vitamin C Serums are a great way to prep the skin for moisturizer as all of the serums I’ve tried contain Hyaluronic acid, which is able to swell and hold a LOT of water, which is great for (dry) skin.I always have chronically dry skin which can make even the lightest foundation look cakey if I’m not careful. But since I started using Vitamin C Serums a couple months ago, my skin has been a LOT less flaky than it was. There is no strong fragrance to this serum and just has a slight medicinal scent which is likely from the Witch Hazel that it contains. I hate strong fragrances and appreciate a more natural smelling skincare. If you are looking for a great vitamin C serum look no further!
I have tried out several vitamin C serums over the last several months, and this is my favorite so far. I love that this is light, unscented, not sticky or greasy. It comes in a fairly big bottle and a little goes a long way, so it seems to be a good value. I also like the pump method rather than the dropper. It comes out cleanly without drips. In terms of results, I’ve seen the same results with all the ones I’ve tried: It DOES make a difference, though not a tremendous one for me. I don’t see a difference in the fine lines under my eyes, but I do see a general smoother appearance to my skin.
So far so good!
I’ve only been using this a few days, and so far I like it. It is non-sticky, doesn’t feel like it layers on – it really absorbs into the skin. While I don’t have lines or wrinkles yet, I feel like this does make my skin tighter, more elastic, it appear brighter and I appear as if I had a great nights sleep (even though I didn’t). A little goes a long way with this. I really love this so far. I plan on recommending it to my mom who has recently started complaining about lines.
I love the way this feels on my skin. I I believe I will be s repeat customer. I feel like I am seeing results already. Awesome!
This was the first Vitamin C serum I purchased (from the reviews) and I have since purchased other Vitamin C serums, one of which I like much better. First off, this one is very thin and watery and makes a mess when you squirt it into the palm of your hand (hits the mirror, etc.). It does run off your finger when you try to apply it. I did not feel any tightening effects when using this serum. I’m not sure if the product I received was old or not (or maybe I just couldn’t get enough on due to it running off my fingers). I have seen results with another serum brand that has a lot of the same ingredients, is a bit creamy, feels like a serum & has 20% vitamin C. I used this product for 30 days and really did not see much of a difference in my skin. I did not experience irritation or drying (like I did with a yet another Vitamin C serum brand), so that’s a plus, but I won’t purchase this one again. I think this one is only 18% Vitamin C and maybe that is why I really didn’t see results like I did with the other 20% Vitamin C brand.
Small Bottle – Big Results
With so many skin care products to choose from, you might be tempted to go for a product offering a larger bottle and a fancy package. Don’t be misled by packaging – this product really works! A small amount on a clean face every day will yield a brighter skin, a reduction in fine lines and a tighter skin in just a few weeks. It’s the ingredients that do the trick. Not only is there vitamin C in this serum, but there’s also hyaluronic acid that plumps the skin. And it’s good to know that the serum contains none of the drying chemicals that often appear in expensive creams.Try it. I have found it really works for my skin.FIVE STARS!
Pretty good so far
Me: Late 40’s with dry, sensitive skin. I give new skincare products 60 days to see results. Prior to this I used a more expensive C serum and saw no results.I’ve been using this a short while, so I will update later if I see any improvement to my skin. In the meantime, every Vitamin C serum I’ve used makes me drier-than-dry, so I have to slather on the moisturizer, and then my sunscreen, on top. This one is no exception. So I’m thinking this would be a positive for anyone who has oily skin—it certainly won’t make you even oilier. The ingredient deck on this serum is top-notch. Paula Beguon ranks this form of Vitamin C as the BEST and it’s #3 on the ingredient deck. Plus it’s loaded with all types of anti-oxidants, and some of the ingredients are organic. This is a watery serum, soaks in fast, doesn’t make my sensitive skin burn or itch, no fragrance, not sticky or greasy, and not tested on animals.~~~~And YES—this is a real review from a real person. A sample was received, but if I felt like this should be rated as a one-star product, I’d not be afraid to do so.~~~~
I discovered hyaluronic acid as a beauty product not too long ago and now consider it an essential part of my daily skin regimen. This vitamin C serum also contains vitamin E and hyaluronic acid so I felt I would like it but did not imagine it would work as well as the hyaluronic acid. I wanted to stay loyal to my original find and not give this the full five stars, but negative aspects are hard to find! Here are the comparisons I found:- this serum is indeed more a liquid than a gel. This is neither a pro nor a con for me. I find that the liquid seems to spread further and more easily, and yet I started with the gel first and like it immensely.- the pump on this serum seems easier to control than the one on my favorite hyaluronic acid.- this serum works really well; I do think the areas under my eyes responded slightly better to the other hyaluronic serum I used, but the difference is minimal. Both make my pores smaller, moisturize well, and smooth my skin.I would encourage others to try several varieties and brands of highly rated beauty serums to see what works best for their individual skin. I can recommend this as one of the serums to give a try. Please do wait a few minutes for the serum to be absorbed before applying anything else. Some users complain that these serums are sticky, but that stickiness goes away in just a few minutes, leaving your skin smooth.
I got this for my best friend to use so he would stop trying to steal my own vitamin C serum and he loves it. Says it goes on nicely, isn’t too thin or thick, not sticky at all. He didn’t have any problems with it and is already seeing results on his face.
revives my skin like a pro
reduced crows feet within 3 days. arizona kills my skin and day by day serum revives it like a pro. i love this stuff
I didn’t even realize that I should be using a serum as I am used to having pretty much flawless complexion with little to no work. But around the time of my 40th birthday that started to change and my facial skin started looking icky. Well this serum has seemed to played a part in reviving it, this in conjunction with glycolic peels.
High Quality product – appreciated the pump top
After trying numerous anti-aging products, I found vitamin C serums. All of the ones that use quality ingredients are helpful, but I’ve found the secret ingredient they must contain to be super effective is hyaluronic acid. This serum contains vitamin C and hyaluronic acid plus it contains a pump top. In my experience, most vitamin c serums come with a dropper bottle. I appreciated the pump top because it meant the product wasn’t constantly being opened and exposed to air and light. Plus, it was way easier and cleaner to apply each morning.I am happy with it.
So far, so good…
I’ve only been using this Day by Day Beauty Vitamin C Serum for a few weeks now and so far, so good. This is not the first Vitamin C serum I have tried, I would say it’s okay. I like that it doesn’t have a fragrance and it’s light. The pump dispenser is great, makes it a lot easier and less of a mess. I do wish it was thicker in consistency… It’s almost like water. However, I didn’t need a lot of this product, maybe two pumps, at the most, to get the job done. When I applied it to my face, it absorbed quickly into my skin without any residue and greasy feeling. I was able to apply my moisturizer almost right afterward. I haven’t noticed a big difference with the fine lines (crows feet) around my eyes, but my skin does look a little brighter and it’s definitely softer. Overall, I’m happy with the product and hope for more results as time goes by.Disclosure: I was not financially compensated for this post. The opinions are my own and based on my personal experience with the product. I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free for my unbiased and honest opinion.
This is my first experience with a serum and I’m vet surprised about how well it works! Some background: we are late thirties, white, freckled, some fine wrinkles coming in over the last few years. Get focused on all natural and organic. After using for about two weeks here are our impressions:Way more moisturizedHealthy glowClean feelingFeels healthierEvened out freckles a little (noticeably)After user is totally recommend – and I was a skeptic! If you’re looking at serum treatment I recommend this one for both the results and the price.A sample of this product was provided by the manufacturer for review.
This is a wonderful vitamin C serum. It is really light, unlike some of the others I’ve tried which can be thick, heavily scented, or just weird in general. This one is nice and thin and clean, and sinks into the skin super fast so you can apply your moisturizer quickly after. The fact that it is basically scentless is great for my sensitive skin, and it has kept my skin nice and tight, even while on vacation to the beach. I’d definitely repurchase!
I am very happy with this serum. It is very easy to apply and has no odor or scent. I use it at night after cleansing my face and before my night cream. It seems to be helping my skin. My skin feels softer and firmer. I like that it includes vitamin E and Hyaluronic acid also. A lot of other serums only have vitamin C. Another thing I love about this serum is that it comes in a pump bottle. Most come with a dropper. The pump is more sanitary so you don’t contaminate the rest of the bottle every time you put the dropper back in it. It also safeguards the possibility of spilling the bottle when you take the dropper out of it. I can see results in that my fine lines and enlarged pores are diminishing. I received a complimentary product in exchange for a fair and honest review.
Leaves my face hydrated and looking younger!
I have to admit that since I hit 40, I have tried lots and lots of face lotions, serums and creams. I do want to look 30 again..lol. Best Vitamin C Serum has shown results in less than a week. It has really helped with hydration! My skin feels hydrated and okay, so I still have wrinkles and I still look like I am in my 40’s…but honestly, my face looks healthier and younger. I really like that you only need to use a very small amount so the bottle, although it is small, will definitely last me awhile.Self Disclosure: I received this product through a Tomoson promotion for review but all opinions are 100% honest and truthful.
Really enjoying this serum!
I am really loving this serum! It goes on so well, there is no fragrance that I can smell. My face seems brighter and my skin texture is smoother!
Absorbs so quickly!
The most amazing thing about this product, in my opinion, is how fast it absorbs into my skin. I don’t like using most skin care products because it constantly feels like they are sitting on top of my skin. I have very oily skin, so adding anything else into the mix often leaves me feeling greasy. This product, however, absorbs so quickly and without a trace. It goes on silky smooth and within 30 seconds or so, absorbs to the point where it’s as if you never applied it at all. There is no residue, no scent, no discomfort. I’ve only been using it for a few days now, but I think I can see my skin brightening a bit. I am excited to keep using it and see what results I might see in a couple more weeks.
The product works good and fast. Within a week you will see more results. It is not sticky or smiley. If you use sparingly it will dry fast and does not smell bad.
Great formula, Love the bottle & pump
One of the main differences I noticed between this and the other serums I’ve tried, is that this formulation is non-sticky, the perfect consistency – liquid but not too runny, and comes with a pump in the bottle instead of a dropper. Not only does the pump distribute the perfect amount for each use (which is a big deal for me since I tend to take more than I need) but it also minimizes the serum’s contact with air and bacteria. It also comes in a pretty blue bottle, which I just thought was for looks, but it turns out the cobalt blue bottle minimizes exposure to light to keep the serum at its best. Some of the benefits I’ve noticed from this Vitamin C serum include: Hydration, tighter skin, even skin tone, and brighter complexion. I use this every night before putting on moisturizer. It feels nice and leaves my skin feeling fresh and youthful.
