More cons, than pros, equals barely average product.
My favorite mascara of all time is, Estee Lauder’s ‘More Than Mascara.’ It delivers the blackest black and fullest lashes of all, while seeming to condition the lashes. But it is costly, so I have been experimenting with more affordable mascaras for work-day wear. So far, I’ve not had too much luck; the closest to Lauder’s being, Almay’s One Coat Nourishing Mascara. Now to the Lash Blast. First off, the unit is very big, and fat; it looks cool, but proves impractical. It takes up more space than necessary in my makeup kit. Since the wand cap, itself, is so HUGE, it is awkward to hold, and, the brush is enormous, too, with minimal end tapering. It is difficult to manipulate, unless you have eyes the size of a giraffe, without risk of poking yourself in the eye, particularly when trying to get to those smaller, inner corner, or lower lashes. Thirdly, the brush loads very heavily and it’s difficult to wipe off excess because of the stiff plastic bristles. And lastly, if you have straight lashes, that require quite a bit of curling before mascara application, you will find that your lashes will NOT hold the curl, because the product stays rather soft on the lashes. This is probably why, for me, I did not notice the flaking, and/or smearing that often occurs with mascaras that tend to harden-up on the lashes; I just noticed droopy lashes—within 10 minutes. On the plus side, the product covers well and does thicken the appearance of the lashes and it is easy to wash off. The ladies fortunate enough to have lashes with good curl will likely enjoy this product more than I, and, the soft formulation is probably healthier for lashes, than the products that stiffen. Unfortunately, it just won’t work for me, unless I get a lash perm.Everyone has their own issues with their lashes and prefer different types of formulations, brushes, wands, etc. Therefore, I can’t say you wouldn’t love Lash Blast—and it’s affordable enough to give it a try. But I still can’t recommend it for those with straight lashes, or challenged dexterity. I can almost guarantee disappointment for them.
I have posted this everywhere because I really love it!!!I was a loyal user of Lash Out. I have very thin and short lashes and Lash Out would make them longer and fuller. One of my co-workers has the longest and fullest lashes I’ve ever seen, so I asked her what mascara she used and she told me Lashblast in black. Of course, after many years of using the same mascara I was a little hesitant, so I decided to do some research. There are some bad reviews about it but most of them are great, so I decided why not give it a try. What do I have to lose? $6.00 at the local pharmacy? So I got it and I do not regret it. I get so many compliments and a few people have asked me if I am wearing fake lashes. This is a fantastic product, it washes off easily and makes my lashes look fuller and longer than ever without making them feel heavy or lumpy. The brush is big but I love it because it covers more and faster. My eyes are very sensitive and I have not problems whatsoever with it running or irritating my eyes. My tip to applying this mascara is to have your eyes semi closed while pushing the brush up. I apply about two coats, wait a few seconds and apply an extra coat. With my other mascara I had to apply it about 6 times on each eye. I have recommended it to everyone I know and the ones that have bought it love it as well. Get it, and if you don’t like it you can always return it. Yep, you can return makeup if you buy it at your local chain Pharmacy, not sure if I can mention their names here but one starts with CV, and the other one with Walg. :oP
Not bad, but somewhat disappointing overall
I decided to try this product after really liking Cover Girl’s Lash Exact mascara, which is designed to lengthen short lashes like mine. Lash Blast is supposed to lengthen AND add volume, so what could be better, right? Unfortunately, I had several problems with this mascara, particularly as compared to the Lash Exact (the shade I purchased was Black Brown). First of all, the tube itself is much larger–not a small inconvenience, especially when trying to squeeze it into a makeup bag or other organizer. Similarly, the wand itself is significantly bigger, making it awkward and unwieldy to use–I have a lot of trouble getting the product on my inner lashes in particular, as the wand is barely tapered at all. Another issue I have with Last Blast (again, especially as compared to Lash Exact) is that the formulation is very wet; after applying, I have to be very careful not to blink or close my eyes too tightly for several minutes or else this product will smudge onto my skin. Finally, sometimes I’ve found that the wand deposits TOO MUCH product onto my lashes, causing them to clump, so I’ve needed to wipe it on a tissue before applying. When I DO follow all of the above steps and am able to apply Lash Blast without incident, it does in fact work very well: it definitely lengthens and thickens my lashes a good deal, making my eyes appear larger. Also, I have found that the product stays on all day without flaking or smudging and (compared to most mascaras) is relatively easy to remove at night. In the final analysis, given the effort that it takes to put this mascara on as well as some of the other issues, I can’t see purchasing it again for everyday use. However, I might reserve this in the future as a “special occasion” mascara only. My overall rating is 3 1/2 stars–I wish it could be better!
Never wants to come off!
In my typical nature I never have anything PERFECT to say about anything. That said, this mascara is FAR from perfect. For curlability and volume it does a good job. But when it comes time to remove the product, its next to impossible! It does flake, but does not run when the eye lashes become wet. Even cold cream has a tough challenge removing this product. One ends up getting so frustrated with the lack of removeability that she begins to attempt manual removal, thus creating the loss of precious lashes. I would not purchase this product again, and it makes my lashes so painful.
Why does everyone like this product?
I have long lashes, but thin ones. This for me, is just a mascara. Coats them and just about it. Doesn’t separate, doesn’t create volume and no length, but not that I need it. Doesn’t do anything for me. I don’t get it.
Love this stuff!
I did some research before buying this. The reviews I found were so-so. I ended up buying it anyway (Drew Barrymore advertising outweighed the bad reviews). I’m going to go over some of the common complaints:1- Brush too big and clumsy- I am clumsy in general and found this brush helpful. It takes a bit of practice to get the inner corners but the brush is wonderful.2- Clumping- I have not exerienced clumping of any kind with this product.3- Too much mascara on the brush- DON’T PUMP THE BRUSH!! The brush gives the perfect amount. If one keeps pumping the brush, of course there will be a big mess.4- Flaking – I have not experienced flaking with this product. I use two coats and wait at least 4 minutes between coats. I think flaking is due to having too much wet product on at once. Would recommend a little product with more coats and a four-minute dry time in between.5- Hard to remove from skin- If this gets on my skin while it’s wet, I immediately wipe it off. It is easy to remove when wet. I have found a problem removing the mascara at night. Creme remover does not cut it. I suggest oil based remover for an easier time of removing the makeup. My impressions: This wears well, it doesn’t run or rub off-even the nonwaterproof version. My lashes look amazing. The brush makes it easier to apply. I haven’t had one day where I’ve blinked from having the brush on my eyelashes (causing raccoon eye as a result).I love this stuff and will continue to buy it!
Too big, too clumpy, too irritating
Lash Blast always irritated my contacts, and I could never get away from clumps. Who wants a tube this gigantic, anyway? I switched back to Lash Exact Hydrofuge.
My most favorite mascara
This mascara is the best! I really think my natural lashes have started to grow because of this mascara. I’ve tried a lot of the more expensive brands, but this is my favorite. The wand grabs even the smallest lashes and makes my eyes look bigger. I haven’t had problems with clumping at all. And- it really doesn’t crumble like some mascaras do. This is a must try!
Great Basic Mascara
I think this mascara is perfect for anyone new to makeup because it is very basic mascara. It gives the right amount of volume and length without clumping. It lasts all day, doesn’t flake, run,or smudge. Also is easy to remove at the end of the day.
I don’t know if I missed it somewhere, but this is waterproof mascara, and it IS TERRIBLE, I can’t get it to go on smooth on my lashes, and when it gets on my skin after the shower, it is TERRIBLY hard to get off my skin. If I could return a used product I would. . . gross mascara and terribly disappointed.
This mascara is my all time favorite. I’ve tried many others by similar brands such as maybelline and revlon, and even other covergirl mascaras, but none have come close to this one. I’m currently on my third tube! I’ve never had trouble with clumping, flaking, or smearing as other commenters have mentioned. It’s just perfect and it makes my lashes look amazing.
Hands down my favorite mascara of all time. Volumizes like crazy, lengthens, defines, separates without getting clumpy. Doesn’t flake, run, or smudge. People ask if I use false lashes! It gives me big fluffy lashes without hurting my bank account. I’ll repurchase as long as it’s available.
The brush is too big
I like this kind of brush, with the bristles spaced farther apart, because it practically eliminates clumping. It does a great job of separating the lashes. However, the brush and the handle are much too big and clumsy. I have almost dropped the brush a few times. It’s also difficult to hold during application, and it’s hard to get to the outer lashes, both bottom and top. As for the mascara, it flakes, but it doesn’t smudge.
I love this product. It makes my lashes thick enough and long enough. But most important: the mascara does not smudge or rub off all day long like other brands! I buy this brand always and none other.
Lashblast could blast your eyes if you’re like me
I have sensitive eyes and I had found a good mascara that works for me without any irritation, that makes my lashes look long, and doesn’t flake but it is so expensive. This brings me to the reason I bought Lashblast. I thought it might possibly be close to what I had but cheaper since the brush looked similar. It isn’t. It has a big brush and when putting it on I saw flakes fall. It doesn’t make my lashes look longer either just stuck together. Also, it does make them look clumped. I figured the burning and tearing it caused might be due to the flaking because I did find flakes inside my eye when I looked in the mirror and had to remove them with a kleenex. I couldn’t wait to get this stuff off. Here is another problem. It is waterproof. It did not come off easily and even after using eye makeup remover I still had residue on my eyelashes and lower lid after I thought I had it all off. How hard do you have to scrub to get it off completely? I value the skin around my eyes so tugging and pulling on it isn’t ideal. Please do not wear this if you wear contact lens.I thought I rated this 2 stars but it came up 3 and when I clicked back it wouldn’t allow me to change it. The only good thing I could possibly say about this product is it makes your lashes darker.
Love this stuff
I first purchased CoverGirl LashBlastFusion Mascara,(purple tube) which I do not like that well. I did a review on it already. So, I thought I would give this LashBlast Volume a chance (orange tube). I love this stuff. It is much better then the purple tube mascara. This actually adds lengths and builds volume and makes me look like I have long, full lashes. It is easy to remove. I use two coats and my lashes look wonderful and my eyes look refreshed even if I skip shadow and liner. I will be buying this product again. When I remove it or get out the shower, it is not all over my face like some mascaras. However, my first choice in mascara is Loreal Voluminous but it does make a mess on your face when trying to take it off or after the shower, I look like I have raccoon eyes. But the Loreal works great to give me beautiful lashes. Hope this review helps.
This mascara is awesome. It goes on thick but not clumpy. It really makes my lashes look long and thick. I have tried every drugstore brand out there and this is the best one for the price.
I absolutely adore this mascara! I haven’t had any problems with flaking or smearing. The only downside I noticed is that it takes a long time to completely dry, so I wait a long time after applying to curl my lashes. I’ve piled on layer after layer with no clumping whatsoever! My lashes look better than ever! 🙂
Its worth the price
I noticed there were a few 1 star reviews and I have to say it left me a little confused. The sale price is $2.99. What exactly are users expecting for $2.99 or for anything under $5.00? I paid full price at the store of $7.00+tax. I always try new Mascara every year in search of the best one. So far…Pro’s- Cheap- Nice large brush (I happen to like that)- Doesn’t clump- Does create a nice lash for the money- Creates a dramtic effect for the costCon’s- Doesn’t do as it claims- I had to apply 3 coats to get a thick full lash (Too much work)
Fantastic mascara, great price
I am very surprised the complaints of clumping in the other reviews. My teenage daughter purchased this mascara and we both think it is excellent. The wand is what makes the application so smooth. My favorite mascara of all time is Lancome Definicils, but I think I am changing to this one! As far as removing the mascara, try Lancome Bifacil eye makeup remover – it takes off everything.
Bought waterproof–not for me!
I bought this because of the reviews. I thought I’d give it a try since it was inexpensive. I hate this mascara. I need to wear waterproof to keep from smudging (I like to keep my eye area moisturized at all times, so regular mascara does not work), but I had no idea that the waterproof mascara settled like cement and does not come off easily–even WITH waterproof makeup remover. The amount of remover and time needed to remove this mascara is not worth it. It also caused me to lose some lashes because the lashes stuck so hard together and pulled on each other during removal. I will not be buying this ever again. On another note, the size of the application wand is ridiculous. It is so fat and distributes so much mascara that it makes it impossible to have “natural looking” lashes. Mascara is supposed to enhance the natural lash, not make it look like spiders resting on your eyelids. And the worst part of all is that it smudges big time. I don’t understand how it can smudge yet settle on the lashes like cement. I’m going back to my Maybelline mascara:Maybelline New York Full ‘N Soft Waterproof Mascara, Very Black 311, 0.28 Fluid Ounce. The wand is very thin and applies just enough to keep that natural look or allow for a more intense look with layering. It’s also easy to coat the lower lashes because the wand can literally sweep below the lash because it is so thin. I deviated from this particular mascara because it comes in a very skinny tube and does not give the impression that you are getting your money’s worth because it appears that you don’t get a lot of product in the tube. However, after trying some other brands, it’s worth it for me to go back to the Maybelline and be happy with the overall look and feel.Others seem to really like this mascara. It might work for you, but it does not work for me.
If you’re looking for a mascara that will give you fuller lashes, this is it! The brush is amazing, although it may take some getting used to. Stays on all day, never flakes, and is easily removed.
By far my favorite mascara to date.
I am forever on the search for a lovely and stand out mascara and for the last several months this has been my choice. It does a great job of making my lashes look dark and long, without clumping or getting flaky. I recently compared this mascara toBenefit Cosmetics BADgal Lash Mascaraand I found that although the BADgirl lash made my lashes fuller looking, the lash blast, overall did a better job of making my eye lashes and thus my eyes, really stand out… and using the two products together REALLY made my eyes look awesome. Its a wonderful mascara and really beats a lot of the department store brands I’ve tried.
Lovely mascara, not so lovely brush
The good: My lashes look fuller and thick, and it stays on nicely even in hot weather. It looks even better when I use a lash primer beforehand. The price is reasonable, especially if you catch it on sale. The mascara itself doesn’t bother my eyes or contacts. The not good: I do NOT like the brush. It is really fat and blunt on the end so getting the corners and lower lashes takes some effort. Also, the bristles are very stiff and when I start sweeping up from the base of my lashes, the bristles scratch the inner rim of my eye. (I hope that makes sense.) This makes getting all the way to the base of the lashes–which is important for a good application, I think–uncomfortable.I love how my lashes look, but won’t be repurchasing because of the brush.
It’s my favorite.
This is my all-time favorite mascara. I think this is my fourth tube and I adore it so much. If you want to go natural, you can only do one coat. If you want dramatic, you can add as many coats as you want. You can build the thickness and length you want. It’s really great and easy to remove. I hope they never discontinue it!
ONE OF MY FAVORITE!!!
I love this mascara. First of all it really makes your eyelashes long seperate and have a dramatic look. I love this mascara so much I have like 4 tubes of it lol. The only thing I don’t like about it is that the brush is very big and sometimes make me poke my eye. But when you think about the bigger picture this is worth it,other mascara’s have little brushes but still have nothing to give. So if you really want a great mascara you have to ignore the big brush in order to have really great lashes,I know I did. Thanks again CoverGirl!!!
This Covergirl mascara works great. It really curves your eyelashes bringing out their best in length and there’s no clumping with this mascara, you’ll love it as much as I do.
This is the best drugstore type of mascara i’ve tried- and i’ve tried almost all of them! The brush is clumsy at first, but you adjust rather quickly. Totally worth it!
Can I just marry this mascara already?
This is the one mascara to which I keep coming back. I’m really picky about my products, but also on a very tight, almost non-existent makeup budget, and this meets both needs. It coats my lashes in just a few swipes, and makes them lush and seductive. I’m a loyal LashBlash girl!
