This is quite amazing – better than high end moisturizers

I’ve tried a ton of different moisturizers, and nothing has ever knocked my socks off except this. I have very dry skin and my winters are usually spent battling dry patches. I’ve been using Cerave for about a month and my skin is smooth and moisturized…in the winter. I have a dewy smooth look after applying my foundation instead of a dry patchwork with makeup stuck to the dry spots. Yay!I was very skeptical after reading about this on some of the beauty forums, and even after using it for the first time. It absorbs very quickly and completely – which was very different from the heavy high end moisturizers I have used over the years. But, after consistent use, I have seen a major difference and not a single dry patch! I also have had NO problems with clogged pores or millia as I have with other heavier moisturizers. Cerave is skin-smoothing and moisturizing for me. It contains both ceramides and hyaluronic acid.I have used Philosophy Hope in a Jar, Clinique Dramatically Different, Fresh Black Tea Cream, Aveeno moisturizers, Lancome Moisturizers, Credentials 02 Day + Night, Neutrogena Healthyskin, Ponds Dry Skin Cream, and for me, Cerave has outperformed them all and at a competitive price to boot. Win-win for me!!

This has PARABENS in it!!!

Just google the word “Parabens” and you’ll know why I gave this 1 star. “Parabens are known to disrupt hormone function, an effect that is linked to increased risk of breast cancer and reproductive toxicity. Parabens mimic estrogen by binding to estrogen receptors on cells. They also increase the expression of genes usually regulated by estradiol (a natural form of estrogen); these genes cause human breast cancer cells to grow and multiply in cellular studies.” Byford JR, Shaw LE, Drew MGB, Pope GS, Sauer MJ, Darbre PD (2002). Oestrogenic activity of parabens in MCF7 human breast cancer cells. Journal of Steroid Biochemistry & Molecular Biology 80:49-60.This product contains Methylparaben and Propylparaben. “A 2004 UK study detected traces of five parabens in the breast tumors of 19 out of 20 women studied [7]. This small study does not prove a causal relationship between parabens and breast cancer, but it is important because it detected the presence of intact parabens–unaltered by the body’s metabolism–which is an indication of the chemical’s ability to penetrate skin and remain in breast tissue. A more recent study found higher levels of one paraben, n-propylparaben, in the axilla quadrant of the breast (the area nearest the underarm) [8]. This is the region in which the highest proportion of breast tumors are found, although paraben concentration in the tissue samples was not related to location of breast tumors in individual women.” More good info and applicable citations can be found on this site: safecosmeticsI have been loyally using this for a year, and foolishly ignored the ingredients list since as many have reviewed its something dermatologically recommended (not by my derm though). As a woman though, I am now discontinuing use of this product. The FDA is aware that estrogenic activity in the body is associated with certain forms of breast cancer, however, FD&C; Act does not authorize FDA to approve cosmetic ingredients so cosmetic manufacturers may use any ingredient they choose. Thus its up to use to make sure we check the ingredients list. Even I forget sometimes when I come across a product that is as widely praised as this. However, since I am a women, and have no desire to get breast cancer, I am stopping use of this. Its just not worth the risk. I cannot believe dermatologists recommend this product. You want to help your skin, don’t put carcinogens in it!!!!!! They just accumulate until you get cancer. Recently I read a study where researchers tested the blood and urine of 20 teenage girls, ages 14 to 19, looking for 25 chemicals often found in cosmetics. The teens involved in the study lived in different parts of the country and included white, black, Asian-American, and multiethnic girls. Tests detected 16 chemicals from 4 chemical families in either the blood or urine of the girls. God knows what will happen if you use Parabens for decades, these girls are only 14 and already have lingering carcinogenic agents in them!!!!It may take some time breaking away from such highly used carcinogens such as Parabens (I’ve come to find them everywhere) and go all natural, but it makes all the difference. As the United States Department of Health and Human Services, FDA, and the rest of the world (except the US it seems) already knows. I admit this did totally works on ridding my elbow area of those bumps, but so doesn’t a good scrub brush daily in the shower with a “safe” Salicylic Acid so that the pores do not become clogged, and a new “safe” body cream which doesn’t seem to cause the bumps on my elbow either, and is paraben free.I have moved on to all natural products and I have NO bumps on my elbows anymore…and thankfully no lingering carcinogens in my urine!!! (see study above)For those who are label conscious this is a good site to refer to, skindeep site, the environmental working group, and the one mentioned above, safecosmetics. There are also a few others but I do not have the links to them currently at this time on my iPad.

alcohol really??!

My daughter suffers from severe dermatitis. Recently st her dermatologist appointment they pointed out this cream to us for her eczema. They had it on display all over the doctor office. Dont be fooled…even by your doctor. This makes me want to question their credentials. For one small but BIG harmful to sensitive skin ingredient….ALCOHOL. why? Why is there alcohol in a cream that’s supposedly for people with eczema? It is a harmful irritant. Burns like acid on eczema skin. Do NOT purchase any cream with alcohol as an ingredient if you have dry sensitive skin or eczema. I found a cheap brand called udderly smooth that helps better and guess what….no alcohol.

CereVe Moisturizing Lotion is Watery – Don’t Buy From Atlas Supply Chain Consulting Services!!

CAUTION – compromised product!!!I love CeraVe normally, but this product came unsealed and was watery as though someone had diluted it down by at least 50%. Since it wasn’t sealed and it was questionable about the quality of product and safety of use, I threw the container with contents away. I will not buy this product on Amazon again.I love to shop on Amazon and have had very few problems with any products purchased through Amazon. I believe it came from the supplier compromised.

Healed burned skin

A small part of the skin on my back was burned by electronic blanket due to long and high tempreture. It’s been there for 5 years. The cream prescribed by my dermatologist won’t cure it. I thought I was going to live it for the rest of my life until one day I was looking for a good body lotion on Amazon and ran into this product. A few reviewers said it cured their long time dermatitis, so I decided to give it a try. I’m so glad I did since my 5 year skin problem disappeared withinjust a week! How amazing! Thanks to those reviewers for good information. I highly recommend it to anyone with tough skin problems to give it a try. It’s great for skin recovery. The price is lower without tax, and even better with Subscribe’n Save.

doctor recommended

My doctor recommended this lotion for some contact dermatitis issues I’ve had. It is very gentle on the skin and applies smoothly. I’ve had both the pump style and the tub style of this cream (no preference). CeraVe also makes a very nice facial moisturizer with SPF 30. I use it every day. However, if you put it on before some type of sweat-producing activity, the sweat ends up dripping off your face. It’s a very strange feeling, not like normal sweating. Almost like your face is waterproof, so the sweat just drips off! Also, from the research I’ve done, it appears that CeraVe is a cruelty-free product. I haven’t seen the Leaping Bunny logo on their products, though.

This is a bad product. It floats on the skin and isn’t absorbed. I threw it away. It’s your skin, buy something more costly and effective.

Soft, smooth skin in winter.

I broke down and bought this even though it has parabens in it because I have acne and the boards and the acne product I use (Arithmetic) recommend it. My skin was drying out on my face from the benzoyl peroxide and the harsh, dry winter. I usually don’t use anything with parabens, but I was desperate. I have to use it very lightly on my face otherwise it’s a grease pit. I just rub it all over my hands and then press a light amount into my face (to avoid removing the acne product that I put on first). I haven’t noticed anything too great on my face. But for my body…… After the first use my elbows were baby butt soft. I think I’ve already used half a bottle in a week! My shins are no longer itchy or flaky and when I shaved my legs yesterday, I noticed an immediate difference in the way the razor moved across my skin.I’m only giving it 3 stars for 2 reasons. One is because of the two parabens in the product. I contacted the company via Facebook and they stated that they have no plans to remove the parabens (they will eventually, watch). The second reason is that I expected more for my facial skin. I thought it might soften some of my fine lines a bit like others had mentioned. A good thing however is no flakey makeup from my acne product.

Best for even the most sensitive skin

This moisturiser is fantastic for my sensitive skin. I have tried a number of different brands over the years and have never found anything that didn’t either break me out, sting or burn, or leave a sensation like I have a film on my face. I am an active woman and spend a lot of time in different climates, ranging from humid to extremely dry high altitudes. This moisturiser keeps up with what ever climate I am in. I love it!

Great Stuff

My dermatologist recommended this lotion to me to use on my face. I also use Differin and Aczone which leave my skin dry and flaky. At first my skin was red and sensitive, but I think I might have been using too much of the lotion, or my skin had to get used to it (since I also use the prescription creams) since my skin normally is not sensitive to anything. A little bit of the product goes a long way, so even with the price, it is worth it. I can feel it on my skin all day, not in a greasy way, but in a hydrating way.

the best ever

Obviously with the 100+ reviews already posted, this stuff is a clear winner! I tried every facial moisturizer out there and Cerave is by far the best. Absorbs right into the skin. No smells. No grease. No skin irritation. It’s perfect for sensitive, dry skin. My face absolutely glows now. My acne scars have cleared. I am a true believer in this stuff.Only caveat is that you need to use minimal amounts on your face. I was using wayyyy tooo much of this stuff when I first got it and my face was constantly covered in whiteheads and needing to be exfoliated daily. Then I cut back to just a pea size amount for my whole face with a dab on my forehead and cheeks and a gentle rub. Now my skin is completely smooth and I only exfoliate once in a blue moon. This stuff seems really light when you pump it out but it’s very potent so use sparingly and you won’t have any problems!

I like it

I use this on my face even though it’s meant for body and hands, and the PM lotion is meant for face (that one costs a fortune). It is very affordable and moisturizes better than more expensive stuff on the market. I love that it doesn’t sting my eyes when i put it on my eye lids, and that it doesn’t contain any dyes or fragrances.I don’t use it on my body or hands, for that would cost me a fortune (poor college kid here!). This lotion doesn’t differ from the PM version much, except that the PM contains vitamin B3, which is great and all, but def not worth the big increase in price!Best moisturizer on the market- gentle, backed by science, and developed with dermatologists. :)EDIT: I use this with tretinoin, and i believe it helped me avoid that “uglies” phase. i did slowly easy into it, though, but cerave def helped. i slap this before and/or after application of tretinoin, and it’s awesome. This is my moisturizer for life.

good but not impressed

I wanted this for my face but it made me breakout. The lotion is just like regular lotion, thinner but not runny. I expected something more creamy because it is so moisturizing. I can use it as a body lotion and it works great, good for dry hands. But since I got it for my face and can not use it there I give it 3 stars.

One of the best for problem skin…

I was afraid of lotion for so long since I have suffered from hormonal acne for quite some time. This product along with the CeraVe foaming wash alone would not clear my skin on their own, but they work fabulously in conjunction with the prescription medication that I am on (Retin-A and Spironolactone). My skin feels like its truely nourished when I apply this lotion and as it dries/soaks in it leaves a nice matte finish. I also like the Cetaphil products. The Cetaphil lotion is a bit greasier but I think, for the most sensitive skin is slightly less irritating. When i have an abrasion this lotion causes a burning sensation, whereas the Cetaphil does not.

No good for face

NO good for a FACE cream! Will not mix well with any make up and leaves a terrible waxy feeling on the skin.

Superb hand/body moisturizer

A wonderful moisturizer for the body and hands. It creates soft, plump skin through powerful ingredients backed by science! I always need this on my desk and like to apply it after a shower when I remember,. I have tried this on my face with mixed results, but I’m also super acne-prone. I may try it again in the future, and will update to report on findings.

First time I have tried this lotion. Very soothing for dry skin. I Use as night time facial moisturizer. I will continue to use this lotion. Really like it!

Non-greasy and makes your skin feels moisturized

I bought this to use on my face as part of my nightly routine. It isn’t greasy and seems to absorb quickly, making my skin feel moisturized not oily.

Dianne Redford, MO

Very good lotion

If you have extra, super dry skin, the CeraVe cream is much better than the lotion. But for a lotion, this is good stuff. No fragrance, does a good job, unless you apply a *ton* it is not greasy.

LOOOOOOVE this product. I have been trying to find a great moisturizer that didn’t break my bankroll.

I have been trying to find a great moisturizer that didn’t break my bankroll and this is it! Showed my hubby just this mornig how this erases the lines under my eyes instanteously. Put it under one eye and asked him to tell me which one I had applied it to. He knew immediately. Remarkable product. instanteously

Great on combination and sensitive skin!!!

I have very sensitive skin and rosacea on one cheek… so I was looking for something good for sensitive skin that was reasonably priced. I had been using dermalogica for about 2 years and it was helping me but it was expensive so I decided to try this. Its about one third the price and it works just as well for me…..I also have an occasional breakout and aging skin ,so I am dealing with a lot of concerns and it really helps my skin… this will help clear up the skin. Improve texture and it makes the oily less oily. … works very well… wish I had discovered this years ago. It would of saved me a lot of money!

Cerave Moisturizer

I love this moisturizer! I use it along with the hydrating cleanser. It immediately moisturizes my skin and leaves it feeling fresh, smooth, soothed, and calm. It never irritates my skin. It makes my skin feel wonderful. I use it along with the medications my Doctor has prescribed for me. It has never harmed my skin in any way. It works great on sensitive skin with execema and acne!

Specifically recommended by my dermatologist and decent price here using S&S

In all honesty, there are probably lots of decent over the counter lotions out there, but this is the dry skin product my dermatologist specifically recommend (DISCLAIMER: she was giving out free samples of this as well…) for my irritated skin due to dryness and cold weather. Specifically, I went in to see her with irritated itchy skin on my leg and arms (little raised itchy bumps that when scratched, actually bled). I was a little nervous thinking it was bug bites or something from my cat. She said, nope…it was due to the cold, dry weather and me not moisturizing properly (especially after I get out of the shower). It’s pricier than some of the other brands (Cetaphil etc.), but it’s not greasy after you rub it in and seem to do the job (not as itchy and the red marks have gone away).

Great lotion

I ordered this after reading it was recommended as the year’s favorite body moisterizer in a fashion/beauty magazine. I was not disappointed! It’s essentially scent free, which is really nice because it doesn’t mismatch with any of my favorite fragrances.

Mable Poyntelle, PA

I really like this! I have no used it on my …

I really like this! I have no used it on my face.. but I have on my body and it really soaks into the skin, and moisturizes, but doesn’t overdo it. I want to eventually try this on my face, but my skin is so sensitive I’m nervous about it, but it works great everywhere else.

Great lotion, recommended by my dermatologist

I recently went to see my dermatologist for a case of dermatitis, and she recommended all of the CeraVe products. I get small hives after showering, and she said that this lotion would be great to use on both my body and my face. I’ve been using the SPF lotion for the daytime, but this works really well for night-time and for the rest of my body.I wish that they would make an SPF body lotion since I need to use SPF on my arms, neck, and chest every day.Overall, though, this is helping to soothe my skin, and it leaves is super soft. I really like all of the CerVe products I’ve tried, and just wish that they didn’t have parabens in them!

Great for dry skin without being too heavy

I started using this moisturizer when I worked at a MedSpa and we handed out CeraVe to our patients after they had laser treatments on their skin. I love that this moisturizer absorbs quickly and is not greasy or too heavy but provides excellent moisturizing. I recently started mixing this with a Hyaluronic Acid & Vitamin C serum and am even more happy. Great stuff for an excellent price.

Lessie Safford, AL

Wished it were larger.

It is light and truly non greasy, with no scent whatsoever. I am fragrant sensitive, so this is a great plus.It melts into my skin and leaves no film or grease. I appreciate this.I use it for the body. I tried to use it on the face, but it clogged my pores. My main con is the price and amount given. It is $10-12 in stores and online, and the bottle is only 12oz. I also wish they would replace the paraben with a different preservative. Because of the price and amount given, I would not repurchase. I’m searching for another good daily lotion in bulk size with a better price.
