just OK

The scent just isn’t there. I tried it and would not re-purchase. Sorry. It’s ok though. Just not for me. It did the job.

Average soap in an average dispenser.

I subscribed to this Seventh Generation free and clear laundry soap here on Amazon and I’ve been using it for quite a while now. For this particular product it seems to be a good price.Historically I’ve tried to use free and clear type liquid laundry soap, but I’ve used several different brands. When this first arrived I had a really hard time with the dispenser because it got all messy. I was replacing the cap after I used it, and that was what was causing the mess. I used to always just use the bottles before this, so I think I just didn’t know what I was doing. I made a special place on my shelf for the soap cup, and now I don’t have any problems with soapy messes. This laundry soap works just fine. If I forget to pre-treat dirty spots, sometimes they stain. Usually they don’t. This soap is definitely not better than other laundry soaps I’ve used as far as stain-fighting ability goes. Another reviewer said that this soap washed all of the color out of their stuff…I’ve never had any problem like that. I wonder if maybe that reviewer washed at the wrong temperature or something. The main reason I ordered SG laundry soap is because I’ve started to care more about the ingredients of products that I use. I felt like this would be better because SG products are marketed as being safer and more natural. I realized that this soap has SLS as a main ingredient, though, so I don’t know that it actually is much better than other brands. In conclusion this soap works fine, but I don’t think there is really anything special or extra great about it. I probably will not continue to subscribe.

great alternative to mainstream cleansers

First time i’ve tried a “green” laundry deterg, and I’m happy. I’ve used it for whites with bleach and for colors on cold and for towels with hot water. All came out lovely, most importantly clean! I tested my white gloves, both of which were dirty from the outside of winter weather car. I pretreated 1 with Oxy, 1 with 7th Gen. Then washed in same load of 7th Gen whites with bleach. The 7th Gen glove was cleaner; the oxy-treated glove still looked stained on fingers where the other one came clean. So although 7th Gen got the stain out when directly applied, it didn’t in general wash. Otherwise, it worked well, didn’t smell at all, and BOTTLE DIDN’T LEAK like others have complained. Packaging was perfect on arrival too.
