Good face wash for acne-prone skin!

Burt’s Bees Natural Acne Solutions Purifying Gel Cleanser is a translucent yellow, light gel-like, lemon/herbal-smelling, medicated (1% salicylic acid), foaming cleanser for acne-prone skin.I use Burt’s Bees Natural Acne Solutions Purifying Gel Cleanser 2-3 times daily. To cleanse, I do the following: wet a cotton pad, add a dime-sized amount of cleanser to the cotton pad, rub the cotton pad to produce a lather, wet my face and massage my face with the foamy cotton pad in circular motions for 60 seconds. The use of the cotton pad increases the efficacy of the cleanser.Burt’s Bees Natural Acne Solutions Purifying Gel Cleanser reduces the size and speeds the healing time of my mild acne (pimples and occasional cysts) while not drying out or irritating my acne-prone skin.A little bit of Burt’s Bees Natural Acne Solutions Purifying Gel Cleanser goes a long way so a 5 oz bottle lasts for months.Ingredients: water, decyl glucoside, lauryl glucoside, sucrose laurate, willow bark extract, salicylic acid (1%), coco-betaine, betaine, beet root extract, evening primrose leaf extract, sodium cocoyl hydrolyzed soy protein, hydroxypropyltrimonium honey, glycerin, glyceryl ole

My blackheads are gone and my skin is finally clear!

I’ve had blackheads on my cheeks for years and awful breakouts on my chin (mostly stress and hormone-related). Since I’ve started using this cleanser my skin has really improved! I like the light scent and it just feels wonderful to use. I use it twice a day in the morning and before I go to sleep and I plan to continue to do so unless for some reason it stops working. Thank you Burt’s Bees for helping my skin out!

Didn’t work for me.

This product didn’t do a damn thing for my sensitive skin. I really wanted it to, too.Hope it works for you, might as well give it a shot.If it doesn’t, try some of the Alba products. That worked much better.

Smells amazing, great product

I’ve been a fan of burt’s bees products for years. The natural aspect is one of the stand out reasons, and also because they’re reasonably priced and work well. I’ve had problems with acne for years, mostly cystic, and now if it’s going to happen, it’s usually around that ‘time of the month’ when my hormones are off their rocker. This cleanser was thinner in consistency then expected, more just liquid then a gel. But it smells amazing — lemony — and it has a nice lather and leaves the skin feeling great. It doesn’t feel drying or like it stripped my skin bare like a lot of acne products can. Actually pretty moisturizing, as I don’t feel the need to add a moisturizer like I usually would after washing my face.I like using a combo of products with salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide. I figure why go with one when you can hit potential break outs with both? This burt’s bees cleanser is in the salicylic acid family, deriving it naturally from willow bark extract. It contains 1.0% Salicylic acid. Also contains beet extract and evening primrose extract. It does not contain sulfates, parabens, phthalates or petrochemicals(as stated on the label).

Great way to wake up

I love this gel cleanser, it has a light but refreshing citrus smell and foams slightly when used. Only caution is that the bottle always comes open when I try to travel with it unless I tape the lid.

love it

I used have really nasty break outs and I tried everything in the drug store. It was really bad. Then I started learning about what they put in those “miracle” cleansers, toners and lotions. So I realized that problem is not my face, but in what I used. So I searched for toxins free cosmetic and I tried different things. But Burt’s Bees cleanser works best for me, so now I’m stick to it. It works great for me. I recommend to try it.

didnt work so well for me

When I became pregnant, my face began to break out for the first time. This product seemed to have amazing reviews, plus I wanted something natural so I gave it a shot. I used several bottles of this for months, combined with the lotion and topical treatment and it did nothing to improve my sitution (perhaps because of the hormones, but still). This wash is VERY thin and runny which made me go through a large amount of it quickly, plus it somehow always ran into my eyes and burned like you-know-what. I also found the smell to be unpleasant although I got used to it after a while.Overall, I don’t think I’d recommend this product to anyone.

Really works

I’ve always suffered from mild acne but in the past year of so it’s really flared up. I’ve tried a butt-load of products ranging from ones sold in drug stores like neutrogena to proactive, none of which have helped. Burt’s Bee’s Acne Purifying cleanser didn’t clear my skin 100%, but it helped a lot and what is left is not nearly as bad as it was before. It smells nice and lemon-y. I’ve also found that it’s most effective when combined with the toner and the blemish stick. (BTW I LOVE the blemish stick). If you’re on the fence, it’s worth the try. They are also sold in a mini trial kit ($14 for small versions of the cleanser, toner and spot treatment) for those of you who wish to try it out before committing to a large bottle ($10).

Great cleanser

I bought this in order to switch my whole face care routine to all natural. After reading tons of reviews, I went with Burt’s Bees because it’s a brand I trust. (Their signature lip balm is wonderful.) I also read that this was key to have if you order the acne pore scrub, which I ordered at the same time.First, this product is much thinner than I had expected. For gel being in the name, it’s more like liquidy soap. Still lathers up just fine, but I thought it would be something that would hold its shape when I squeezed it out of the bottle. I use this after using the acne scrub (which if you do order the scrub, then you MUST order this as well) and finish with the toner and moisturizer. This product did leave my skin feeling clean and refreshed. I would recommend this product.

This is OK

This is OK, but I really took issue with the amount of bubbly suds that got stuck in my hairline as I was trying to rinse this off my face. Not a problem if you’re in the shower, but with a washcloth it was really labor intensive to try to rinse this stuff off. I also found it to be a bit drying. I found ultimate freedom from acne with a dairy-free diet, The Body Shop Tee Tree Line, and an Olay Facial Brush. I do continue to love the Burts Bees natural acne Lotion because it’s really a great face moisturizer– nice and moisturizing (some would call it too thick) for my dry skin without having to worry about breakouts.

Safe, Works

I switched to Burt’s Bees when I found out I was pregnant. I use this every morning in the shower on a washcloth and it really helped clear up my gestational acne.

This one works great

It smells and feels nice. It is very gentle, but it is very effective. Of the acne line by Burt’s Bees , in my opinion, this is the best. This is one of the better cleansers I have ever used, and kept me from breaking out well even though I was on steriods and trying to. My son is 13 and when he uses this product alone, with regular 10% benzoil peroxide for trouble spots, he’s seen a TON of improvement. We did not have good luck with the other products in this line, but this one is a winner. I will continue to buy it and would recommend it.

Great, natural product

I have been a fan of many Burt’s Bees lip products for years. I like the minimal packaging and natural ingredient focus of the company. During my recent pregnancy, I decided that I wanted to try and find a more natural, yet effective product to control my oily skin. This face wash has been a wonderful find for me.It has a very thin, gel-like consistency. It produces a decent amount of lather, smells nice, and rinses easily. My skin doesn’t feel dry or tight after using this product, while it does help to keep oil and acne under control. Finding the right balance so that my skin is clean but not irritated has been a tremendous challenge for years, and this product delivers. Even though it contains salicylic acid, it is gentle enough that my tween age daughter also uses this wash without irritation. My one complaint is that I don’t like the push cap that comes on the bottle. I would much prefer a pump dispenser. It would be much easier to control how much product I am using with a pump, rather than pouring it in my hand and hoping I get it right. Burt’s Bees does have several other products with pump dispensers, so it shouldn’t be too difficult for the company to begin placing pumps on these bottles.

it works!

I’ve tried Burt’s Bees skin care products before, and have never been a fan of anything but their lip balms. However, their Natural Acne Solutions line is really great and–the important thing–actually works. I started out with just the moisturizer, and was happy enough with it to try the cleanser. A few things:1. It is really more of a liquid than a gel. It lathers up nicely and leaves my skin feeling clean, but not dried out.2. It smells kind of like lemon dish-soap to me. Can’t say I particularly like or dislike the smell, but it’s not a selling point.3. The container is kind of a pain, especially compared to the moisturizer, which is so nicely packaged. I might try putting some cleanser in a foaming pump dispenser and see if that works any better. It’s difficult to use the same amount of product every time since it kind of just pours out (and you really don’t need much).I’ve definitely noticed a difference in my skin. It is more even, less red and blotchy, and less prone to bumps/acne (after about 3 months of using this cleanser and about 4 months using the moisturizer). Don’t think this is a magical serum that will make your face completely acne-free (although maybe for some people it will have that effect). I do still get acne occasionally, but this product along with the moisturizer have definitely improved the overall appearance of my skin, which is more than I can say for most products out there. Most importantly, it doesn’t dry out my skin and doesn’t have that harsh chemical-feel of many other products. Definitely give it a try if you’re looking for a gentle cleanser to take care of blemished skin–I’ve found that this works quite well for me.

Great for tweens with sensative skin

I bought this and the Burts spot treatment for me 12 1/2 year old daughter. She used Pro-Active, which a I paid $50 for about 6 weeks worth. It was mostly working, but pricey and left her face stinging sometimes and red, since it was pretty harsh. In looking for an alternative we found this Burts product. It is less harsh and proving to be just as effective. She has only used it for 3 (THREE) days along with the spot treatment and we have seen great results in a short time. When not using something to treat it, she has about 12 zits at any given time on her face. About 3-4 on her chin, 3-4 on her forhead right in between her eyes and and 4-6 zits near her hairline. On day one, all of the redness was mostly gone and the pimples had at least flattened. By day two they were much smaller and a few of them had left. Here we are day 3 and she has no redness and about 1/2 of them are completely gone. The 1/2 dozen or so that are left are small and appear to be on their way to being healed. She is very happy. I am too because of the price and spending money on something that actually works. I feel better too knowing that she woke up too this morning and said, "I feel so much better about my skin today". While in-between products her skin did not look great and she was using a little of my pro-active, some aveeno, etc. and nothing working too great and her face was ver red. I’m amazing at how fast the results are coming in.
