- Burt’s Bees Richly Replenishing Cocoa & Cupuacu Butters Body Lotion, 6 Ounces (Pack of 2)
Love it! It’s cheaper in the larger pump bottle, but you should buy these smaller ones instead, here’s why…
I love this lotion – it truly does moisturize longer than others, yet does not have a greasy feel. The one thing I’ve consistently noticed is that the larger, less expensive pump bottle of itBurt’s Bees Richly Replenishing Cocoa and Cupuacu Butter Body Lotion, 12 Ouncedoesn’t smell as good as this smaller squeeze tube type bottle.Burt’s Bees Body Lotion, Cocoa And Cupuacu Butters, 6-Ounce (Pack of 2)In addition, once the larger pump bottle is down to the last inch and a half or so, it won’t pump out anymore. So it is worth it to buy these smaller ones instead…Smell: I love the cocoa smell – it is fresh yet not overpowering or artificial smelling like many others. However, if you decide to buy it in the larger, less expensive pump bottle, the smell seems “faded” (for lack of a better word…). You can barely smell it at all till the bottle is close to 1/2 way empty, then the smell seems to increase. Since you are lucky to get about 25-30% of the last half of the bottle, this is a real bummer, as only a small amount that you use seems to carry the scent. With these smaller 6 oz tube style bottles the smell is consistent, and it is easy to squeeze out the last drops of lotion (same way as you’d do with toothpaste tubes/bottles.)Cost: I’ve bought the larger bottle 3-4x now, because it is much cheaper at $9 for 12 oz pump bottle vs. $16 for two of the 6 oz bottles. However, the larger bottles have all not smelled right. The first time I thought perhaps the lotion was old, maybe just sitting around a long time, and so lost it’s scent. However, the subsequent bottles have all been exactly the same. Mysteriously, the lotion in the 6 oz bottles have never had this problem. So, while more expensive, I’m having to go with the 2 pack of 6 oz bottles instead. If you like this lotion, or want to try it out, absolutely go with the smaller 6 oz bottles.
Best lotion I’ve ever tried
This lotion has everything any lotion should have: great smell, a decent ingredient list, fast absorption and real moisturizing abilities. I am impressed by how good this moisturizer is, I usually hate creams and lotions because that greasy feeling just drives me insane, but this one absorbs so fast, there’s no trace of it after a couple of minutes. I could smell this thing all day, no joke.Consider that I have keratosis pilaris (those bumps on the skin – arms, legs, etc), and this product makes those areas look much smoother and less irritated. If there were 10 stars to be given, that’s how i’d rate this product.
Nothing but a greasy mess!
This stuff is truly awful! It stinks, and I was hoping for much much much better. I expected better from Burts bees. I’d heard about them for years, and thought they were all natural. The only thing I got from this lotion was blisters and lots of burns! Not satisfied at all. I will not be ordering this ever ever again. In fact, I’m not even sure why this is on sale
While I love most Burt’s Bees facial products, I don’t have a much luck with their lotions and creams, save for one. Most of them feel too tacky or sticky for me, like you would expect from a more natural product, or I just didn’t care for the smell. I do love and use Burt’s Bees Cocoa Butter and Macadamia Nut Butter cream, which has been a Godsend on my dry, itchy skin.Even though I love the Cocoa/Macadamia product, it’s a bit inconvenient to me with having to scoop cream out of the jar just to moisturize my hands, not to mention when I need something for when I’m out of the house. I also work from home and type all day, and since it takes a little while to absorb naturally, it’s not always convenient in this sense either. So, I pretty much only put it on after I shower, but I wanted something light and quick-absorbing for when I need to wash my hands, etc. throughout the day and especially for when summer hits.I found this Cocoa and Capuacu lotion just recently and, so far, I’m really pleased with the results. It’s not greasy or sticky and it absorbs quickly – pretty much like your average store-bought brands. It’s also light and has so far softened my skin, which is another bonus.I do like the smell and it’s mellow after it dries, but I wouldn’t say it’s as vanilla-like as the product claims – at least to me. Then again, I’m learning that everyone’s sense of smell differs, so I would say to give it a try. I know that I’ve tried some other BB products that people claimed smelled like heaven, only to think that it smelled a bit like rancid milk later. So, you never know! It’s not my favorite scent right out of the tube, though it’s not unpleasant. All in all, I think it smells good and natural once dried and I’ve even had a few compliments in the last few days since wearing. It doesn’t last me 24 hours as the product claims either, but we’re also in the middle of a dry winter with Santa Ana winds in full force off and on as well, so it’s hard to say how it would be on a normal basis. However, I have no problem putting more on and actually enjoy doing so, even while I’m working.I love the fact that it’s 99% natural and the price is great too, especially on Amazon when compared to the actual website. You don’t need a lot, as with most BB, but even excessive amounts seem to absorb well, which I love. I can see that the tubes will last for a good while.I’m certainly happy and my hands are, too.
Unfortunately, this smells horrible
I can’t even comment on how well this product moisturizes because the smell is so disgusting, bitter and downright funky that I haven’t been able to keep it on for more than 15 minutes. No perfume will cover it up either.
