Honest reviews

One of the first telltale signs of aging is tired or puffy eyes. So I use this cream … and look a little younger :)This eye cream is very very rich and works best at night. I sometimes use it during the day time though. It stays on for 3 to 4 hours and really does diminish fine lines. I’ve tried more expensive department store brands, but they are too watery to be effective moisturizers. I have used Royal Jelly for a few years and pray they will never discontinue.

What is it they say about eyes? Is it they’re the mirrors of the soul? Well, your mirror may tell you something very definite about your eyes. There does come a time when eye cream is no longer a take-it-or-leave-it indulgence but a really-must-use-it. When that time comes depends a great deal on genes, climate and, yes, friends, age.So, if you’ve reached the point where those lovely creases are about to become more than traces of a smile better get serious about some moisturizer for around those peepers. Often, you’ll use one eye cream for day and another for night. A lighter cream that absorbs quickly is preferable for day wear as one can easily and quickly apply makeup over it. If the skin around your eyes truly needs TLC you might consider a heavier cream for night. With the percentage of beeswax in this cream it’s a tad heavy for day use.

Rough, gritty, and congealed

I’m confused. Aren’t eye creams supposed to be on the soft side? Isnt undereye skin delicate? Well, this cream has been congealed since i bought it. it’s gritty. I have to rub it on hard for it to get on the skin. I dont want to do that to delicate eye skin! I’m now using it as a face cream .

Too Heavy to be Absorbed!

I bought this yesterday from my local supermarket that carries Burt’s Bees products. I applied a VERY small amount under my eyes and like the other reviewer stated, it is too heavy. My skin did not absorb it. I applied it before bed and this morning it still hadn’t absorbed and it took me a while to completely remove it. I don’t want a product that is this greasy and heavy. Also, I did get a little in my eye while trying to remove it and that was also unpleasant.

Very greasy

Royal jelly or bee wax, I can’t see how this product can improve my skin if it stays at the surface of my skin…The only moisturizing that it can creates will be due to the barrier it creates. Why not using petroleum jelly? No preservative…Hmmm. It means that to be able to use the whole jar before it spoils (it should be in a tube) I will have to use it on my neck too. I use it on my lips, under my eyes at NIGHT and on my throat to not waste the money I used to buy it. If you don’t keep this in your bathroom (not recommended for non preservatives cosmetics), be sure to have tissues on your dresser or wherever you use it, it’s greasy. I don’t recommend it.

Eye cremes come in many types

Some are called "eye caviar", others have gold in them, and some retail for upwards of $100 for a bottle smaller than this jar of Burt’s Bees. I’ll let you in on a secret – I use those other expensive cremes once in a while, but I always come back to using Burt’s Bees because it’s natural, non-harmful, seems to produce results for me just as well as those la-di-dah $$$ products, and just FEELS good on my skin: like my skin is actually drinking it in, as opposed to just slathering it on and ending up with it on my pillow in the morning. Like the Burt’s Bees Almond milk Beeswax Hand Creme, it goes to work and feels like it’s immediately being absorbed by your skin and doesn’t leave a sticky residue. Sure, you can feel you’ve applied something, but it’s not that artificial feeling on your skin, it’s like it’s supposed to be a part of your body and your body recognizes it and allows it in wholeheartedly. Flights of fancy in my head? Perhaps, but when you’ve used as many products as I have over the years, you know when you’ve found a quality item, like this Beeswax & Royal Jelly Eye Creme, that works, but you’re not spending the money for words like "caviar" or "gold treatment". Lapping it up, you skin feels richer and smoother in days, and you can feel good about putting natural products in and on your body.

Love this eye cream

I only use this at night, but it is my favorite night cream. So moisturizing. Doesn’t make me puffy like some others and actually really moisturizes but some is still there in the morning, which for an night eye cream or face cream I want. because if it completely soaked in while I’m sleeping it’s usually not keeping it moisturized all night. I read a couple reviews saying it made them puffy or have blurry vision because it got in their eyes…. Make sure you don’t put it on your tear ducts as it can get IN your eyes or tear duct and being that is is very moisturizing, Any lotion or oil type substance in your eye won’t be uncomfortable and can cause puffiness and make your vision seem…blurry.***Update*****I have been using this product for years now. It is hands down my favorite night eye cream. NEvertheless. I wanted to make sure I tell you that I will NOT buy this product, nor my Skinceuticals sunscreen from Amazon. As it has a really weird consistency. This product is SUPPOSED to have a nice, soft, creamy texture, NOT a grainy oily type texture. The grains are strange because no matter how much I rub it in between my fingers or even put a warm blow dryer heat on it, they don’t smooth out. I’m not sure if during storage/shipping it is exposed to extreme temperatures. I have bought this product at my local Whole Foods for years and even ordered it online and never had this problem. Twice I have purchased this from Amazon (once in September of 2011 and November of 2012 and both times it came ruined so it couldn’t have been a batch issue. Same thing with that sunscreen I was talking about, grainy and doesn’t smooth out.

If you have sensitive eyes this is not for you. Created swelling in mine and deep dark circles. Not good at all!
