The boss of sunscreen. Y U NO buy this???
My parents had an in-ground pool growing up so we’ve tried it all. This is by far the best sunscreen I’ve ever used. Very light scent and very, very thick. Just a nickel size will cover your face and neck so one bottle of this goes a long way. Between my girlfriend and I, it lasted the whole summer. This will stay on all day at the pool or beach. You may want to put extra on there at certain points of the day just to be safe like on your cheeks and nose.It lasts so long that you’ll still feel it on your skin when you turn in at night and take a shower. If you have very sensitive skin and need the best protection, buy this. Anyone wanting excellent sunscreen should buy this.If you have children, buy the kind made just for kids:Banana Boat Kids SPF 50 Family Size Sunscreen Lotion, 12-Fluid Ounce
Essential Protection Against Harmful Sun rays
For my children, I started buying the sunscreens specially for kids (spf 45 or 50). Then, I met a good sunscreen of SPF 70, which I liked even better, that would protect my children further. Then, I met another sunscreen, one of SPF 85, and it was better still! But following the advise from friends, I tried to get better protection against our tropical Sun (I live in the Dominican Republic), for my children and myself’s swimming practice. So, I purchased this product…While it works, I cannot say that it does better than my previous sunscreen of SPF 85. The previous sunscreen (the 85 SPF one) protected us better (fair skins on all of us), helping us to get no more than a mild tone on our skins. I don’t know if it was because the 85 SPF resisted the water activity better… With this Banana Boat Performance Sunblock Lotion SPF 100, we got noticeably more toned. But what really had me worried is that I noticed on my face some darker spots that weren’t there before (it’s been about five days, and thank God they are not there anymore!). Probably those spots were because of some residue of beauty cream on my face, but when I used the other sunscreen (the 85 SPH), it was under the same circumstances, so maybe it is that this sunscreen SPF 100 from Banana Boat doesn’t interact well with other creams (if any possible residue was left, in the first place), or maybe is that the Sun at that moment was too much for this sunscreen to fight against (10:30 am). I compare this sunscreen stregth with the 45 SPF sunscreen I used before having higher protection available, and find them very alike in protection. Please, have in mind that I used this Banana Boat just once, but the thing is that I don’t dare to try it again (I am scared of those dark spots, and we all were noticeably more “touched” by the Sun that time!). I decided to go back to my previous sunscreen SPF 85. My husband will use this Banana Boat 100 SPF for his work, since he does’t have to swim there, thus, the sunscreen will resist better (we hope!).
Absolutely the best sunscreen for me
I’m allergic to many of the sunscreens that have PABA or some of the other common screening agents. (I end up with a rash that paradoxically looks like a bad sunburn.) But being very fair despite being a brunette, I have to use sunscreen when I spend time outdoors.I like This one because it’s SPF 30 and it’s resistant to running off when you perspire. It doesn’t bother my skin, and it seems to stay on a good part of the day. I won’t burn with SPF-30 but I think they have a 50 if you are really sensitive. The aloe and vitamin A and E in this formula seem to be very soothing to the skin.Active Ingredients: Avobenzone (1%), Homosalate (15%), Octocrylene (.80%), Oxybenzone 4% (Sunscreen), Octisalate (4%)Inactive Ingredients: Water, Stearyl Alcohol, Glycerin, Capryl Glycol, Hydrogenated Dimer Dilinoley/Dimethylcarbonate, Aloe Vera (Aloe Barbadensis) Leaf Juice, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Retinyl Acetate (Vitamin A), Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Retinyl Acetate (Vitamin A), Tocopherol (Natural Vitamin E), Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate, Behenyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, Citrate, Disodium Ethylene Dicocamide Peg 15 Disulfate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Dimethyl Capramide, Cetearyl Alcohol, Sodium Lauryl Lactylate, Lecithin, Carbomer, Xanthan Gum
This Sunscreen Works
I used to use spray-on sunscreen but they can be really oily & messy. This sunscreen is not greasy & doesn’t have a heavy odor. I kayak a lot in the summer so I need something “sweat resistant & water resistant”; this is both. I reapply if I go underwater but I’ve been lazy & not reapplied & it still worked (I wouldn’t recommend being lazy that way!). It doesn’t make your skin feel like it’s encased in a slimy bag. Of course the most important thing, it blocks UVA/UVB rays & keeps me from getting sunburned!I’ve used sunscreen that doesn’t wash out of my clothes – yuck. This one doesn’t seem to leave a lot of odor after going through the wash; there may be a hint of its scent but not so strong that I need separate clothes for wearing sunscreen. It probably helps that it’s not really oily & absorbs in to the skin.
Lightweight sunscreen coverage
We used this sunscreen on our trip in the Caribbean and it worked really well in preventing burning. It was lightweight and absorbed into the skin well and lasted for some time. We would reapply every couple of hours since we were in and out of the water. I would recommend using this.
This sunblock lotion is first-rate! It goes on easily; I just gently squeeze the bottle so that some goes into the palm of my hand and I spread it on my arms, legs, face, neck (and even a bit on the top of my head where I’m balding!) when I’m walking around to avoid a bad sunburn. This stuff is also great for sunbathing at the pool; I really appreciate that it remains water resistant! They say it remains water resistant for up to 80 minutes, but to be on the safe side I apply a little extra after forty-five minutes or so.I agree with other reviewers who write that this sunscreen is not at all oily; that’s really wonderful because most of them are. I also like getting SPF 50 so I feel safe from the sun. I simply don’t get sunburns when I use this very good sunscreen lotion! It does have a mild scent; if you are allergic to scents you may want to look for another strong sun ray blocker that is hypoallergenic.I should also add that this sunscreen doesn’t stain my clothing. It never stains my swim trunks, either.Overall, this is excellent sunblock lotion and I highly recommend it.
