I didn’t know that a good hair dryer really can make a difference

After reading review after review on Amazon I took the plunge and ordered the Babyliss. I am an Amazon Prime member so I am always happy to find something that I want that will be at my door in 2 days — this actually came in one. (Though that isn’t always good when I am trying to hide a purchase!) I couldn’t wait to use this dryer so I washed and conditioned my hair the evening it arrived.I will start off telling you the one reason I didn’t give this 4 stars. Others have mentioned the weight and I will agree that so far this is the heaviest dryer I have ever used. I am getting better with it the more I use it and that is not enough of an issue that I still don’t love it — but I would imagine my Mom wouldn’t like it since she has had carpel tunnel issues in the past. I hit my head with this dryer the 1st time I used it because I wasn’t used to the weight. Though I am not known for my grace either.I like to style my hair with only a hairdryer but since I had a mishap with some home hi-lighting, my hair is pretty damaged so it is too frizzy after blow drying because of its current condition that I have had to also use a big curling iron or flat iron to smooth it out. No More. I dry it all over which I swear now takes me about 3 minutes – this thing is strong – then I attached the nozzle to smooth and slightly curl my hair under. Amazing. My hair is smooth and shiny. I honestly didn’t believe that I would be able to style my hair so quickly and have it look so good. The first time I used it I had so much volume that it was almost comical. My hair was a bit too big. I was used to styling my hair with a lesser dryer and I could tell after one use with this dryer.A few mentioned the buttons. I had no issues with them. I always look at my dryer to see what the heat, speed etc is before using it so it didn’t matter to me like others mentioned that you couldn’t change your setting without looking. It’s something that doesn’t slow me down or matter. I used it only on high heat with both settings. I use the lower speed with the nozzle for more precise styling and high heat, high speed for all over drying. I have never been one to bother with the other settings. The price for this hairdryer is great. I’ve bought drug store hairdryers that cost $40 to $50 and there is no comparison. I think it is even a little cheaper now than when I ordered it. I’m tempted to order a backup. That tells you how much I love this thing. If weight isn’t an issue – this is the dryer for you.

Good for the price

I would say this hairdryer is very comparable to the higher end models of the drugstore brand hairdryers (Revlon, Conair, etc). I bought this to replace a Revlon hair dryer that I had been using for about 3 years because I started having issues with it overheating. Even though the price was so low on this Babyliss dryer, I was expecting it to perform better and it just didn’t. It does work well, but I didn’t notice it drying my hair any faster than normal or with any less frizz. Don’t get me wrong, this is an OK hairdryer. Just don’t expect to receive super great results from this dryer if you were already using a decent hairdryer to begin with. Those giving this hairdryer a 5 star rating were probably using a super cheap and old dryer before purchasing this one.

THE BEST BLOW DRYER ON THE MARKET!

THIS IS THE BEST BLOW DRYER I HAVE USED IN A LONG TIME. THIS BLOW DRYER IS VERY HEALTHY FOR YOUR HAIR. THIS DRYER WILL LEAVE YOUR HAIR VERY SOFT. YOU KNOW HOW YOUR HAIR LOOKS WHEN IT IS REALLY HEALTHY WITH NO PRODUCT ON YOUR HAIR…. IT SHINES AND I MEAN IT HAS A NATURAL HEALTHY LOOKING SHINE TO IT. THE OVERALL LOOK AND FEEL OF MY HAIR DEFINITLY MADE ME SATISFIED WITH THIS PURCHASE. THE BLOW DRYER HAS MANY FEATURES, HIGH/LOW SETTINGS, WITH A COLD SETTING ONLY AND A COLD SHOT BUTTON. YOU DON’T HARDLY EVER FIND A BLOW DRYER WITH A COLD SETTING AND THIS ONE HAS IT. THE DRYER IS A TOURMALINE DRYER WHICH IS VERY GOOD FOR THE HAIR. YOU WILL DEFINITELY FEEL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN YOUR OLD BLOW DRYER AND THIS BABYLISS PRO BAB2000. OH, DID I MENTION YOUR HAIR WILL BE DRY IN HALF THE TIME AND THIS DRYER IS NOT AS LOUD EVEN ON A HIGH SETTING COMPARED TO OTHERS. I LOVE THIS BLOW DRYER. I WOULD TELL ANYONE WHO IS LOOKING TO KEEP THEIR HAIR HEALTHY, GET THIS ONE IT WORKS AND YOU WOULD NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.

Vibrates!!

This blow dryer vibrates terribly in your hand while using and that makes it very uncomfortable. I returned it and got a refund.

Shocked at how fast it dries my hair!

Very impressive — it dries my hair so much faster than any other hairdryer I have owned in the past. I would recommend it for people with thick hair who are always in a rush.

Love it!

I was skeptical of the new technology, but my hair really does dry faster than with my old conventional blow-drier. I highly recommend this product.

Love this!

Seriously love this. I have really thick hair and I used to never dry my hair with a hair dryer because it takes for-ever. This one is just perfect. I don’t know what kind of motor is in there, but it’s pretty powerful, I’m betting I can use that motor to power a kid’s go cart or something. Anyway, unlike most dryers out there, this dries my hair without frying it. I will not be trading this anytime soon.

YOU WANT THIS….TRUST ME

I am a self-professed hair dryer snob. I have thick, wavy, long hair and I blow dry it a few times a week. I need a high quality hair dryer and one that won’t damage my hair. But I’m also a self-professed cheapskate, and I simply won’t pay more than $50 for a hair dryer. For the past three years, I’ve been using the Remington T Studio. I’ve bought two of those (the first one pooped out). And until I tried this hairdryer, I would have said that was the best hairdryer you could buy at the $40 or less price point. That is no longer the case. The Babyliss blows every other cheap hairdryer out of the water. It’s awesome. Totally lightweight (read: doesn’t exhaust your arm), very quiet, and speedy! It dries my hair quickly and leaves it smooth and shiny. The air flow from the dryer doesn’t feel or sound like much, but I swear it works quickly to get your hair dried. I am very impressed with this drier. It leaves my hair shinier than the Remington ever did, and it’s way lighter weight. You cannot find a better dryer under $40. And if you think you wanna save even more and buy a $19 Revlon or Conair dryer–I don’t recommend it. Always have had back luck with drugstore hairdryers. Spend the extra 15 bucks and get this awesome one. You won’t regret it!

quiet, relatively; never Conair again

This one is relatively quiet. Not muffled but a dull lower sound. It is impossible to have a quiet one that is also powerful.I had one of the Conair gun type dryers and it was a high pitched loud and it felt really plasticky and cheap. On the basis of this dryer, I would never, ever buy anything from Conair again. This Babyliss has a understated look, it is not trying to look rich, no decorative trim, no imitation steel or chrome, no stupid logo that starts to chip and fade away. It feels solid but not unduly heavy. Unlike Conair, it feels like it is meant to last a while.

Blow dries your hair very quickly

I have thick hair and it takes forever to blow dry my hair so normally I let my hair air-dry (it’s better for your hair anyways). However, on days when I can’t leave the house with wet hair, this dryer helps me get my hair dried in less than 5 minutes.

SENSATIONAL!!!

I have two of these…. one in blue and the other one in lavender color. Anyone who pays $300.00, $200.00 $100.00 or even $50.00 dollars for a hair dryer is throwing their money out the window. Anything with less than 2000 Watts should be purchase at the drugstore for less than $20.00 dollars. This particular model is Amazing. I agree with the other comment that it is a little heavy but not only your drying time is cut in half with this dryer, but also your hair looks amazingly shiny, not dull and dry as with other low quality dryers from the supermarket. This product truly works well and the price is out of this world(extremely low) for the quality and excellent performance of this item. Extremely happy with this purchase.

Amazing, powerful, surprisingly quiet dryer

I love this hair dryer. It almost has a neoprene feel on the outside and is really powerful. It’s not a travel hairdryer, being somewhat large and heavy, but using the crappy hotel dryers just highlighted how much more awesome this hairdryer is. Despite its super powerful airflow, it was not loud at all. No high pitched whirring noise, and maybe this only happened to me, but crappy dryers always tend to suck in part of my hair in the back fan and pull it. I’ve never had that problem with this dryer. Honestly, even cruddy, loud hairdryers are about $25, just pay the extra bit more and get this one. Considering how much it will be used, it’s definitely worth it.

Compared to others…

Compared to other lower-end blow dryers this one is "top notch". :)First off, the heating equipment in this blow dryer is ceramic and that supposedly does wonders for your hair.I previously own a Revon dryer and other similar brands and this one is much quieter in comparison. It is a little heavier than your average blow dryer- but not a big deal. The nozzle is also a tad smaller than I’m use to – but again not a big deal. The extra long cord is a plus which allows me to multitask with ease while getting ready. For those looking for a change from their cheaper (Rite Aid, Target, Walmart, & even low end Ulta) blow dryers this is a great step.

This is a very nice dryer. It is too heavy and large for me doing my own hair. Does dry my hair faster and without burning as it doesn’t get stupid hot.

2nd one!

This is my second Babyliss in 11 years, the only reason why I stopped using the first one was becuase I dropped it several times and the edges broke so it was hard to use the difussor which is the only reason why I use the hair dryer for. I love the product, it is a little heavy but I rather have a heavy hair dryer that does the work than a light one that will take ages to dry my hair.

Excellent

This hair dryer produces very hot air at a very high speed. It feels sturdy and comfortable. My wife has long, thick, amazing hair, and her prior hair dryer, a Con Air 1875, took at least twice as long to get the job done. When I’ve used this unfortunately named BaByliss Pro, it’s dried my hair very quickly without any ill effects. I suggest a healthy distance from hair to dryer, however. Is this worth the somewhat higher price than the cheapest hair dryer? I think the answer is absolutely yes. If I encounter reliability issues, I will update this review.

Love this hair dryer! Could improve on 3 small things….

This hair dryer works really well. Dries my hair REALLY fast. Has several settings for customized drying/styling. Would have given it 5 stars if the following 3 things were different.1- It’s heavy. Really heavy. Not too much of an issue since it drys hair very quickly, but if you want to use it for excessive styling, your arms will probably get tired.2- On/Off switch difficult to move. The switch slides up and down. It’s NOT a flip switch. So if you, like me, want to dry your hair after a shower, after you put lotion on, and your hands are a little slippery, it’s really difficult to slide the switch. There is no grip on it, it’s smooth plastic. I just leave it in the "On" position, and unplug it when I’m done.3- No retractable cord. And it’s not springy. It’s a straight cord, and to store the dryer, I wrap it around the dryer. It’s not a huge issue, but when you add up all 3 things, I felt I needed to reduce the rating from 5 to 4 stars.I still recommend this dryer, as it works really well. I’ve been using it for about 6 months, so I’ve gotten some use out of it.

well built-feels high quality, but not for me

For the last 7 years I’ve owned a Conair 1500. It was fine, did the job, nothing special. But this time around I thought I’d indulge a little on the brand and see whats out there. Pros: I like the soft feel of the coating. It doesn’t seem any heavier than my Conair. I like the 3 temperature options and the 2 speed options. Cons: the design of the slide button to turn it on or off has been a real pain so far. Its very hard to move, the switch is flat and glossy and theres nothing to grip – its a struggle. And although my daughter loves the high speed because it dries so much quicker than our last one, I find that it blows way to hard. It twists my hair up and makes it like a rats nest with tangles and fuzz and everything you don’t want. Due to this, I now use it only on the LOW setting…but this now takes longer to dry my hair than it use to with the Conair. So no, I wouldn’t buy this again but its not bad enough to throw away.

Very good value!

After reading many reviews and trying out 2 other highly reviewed and value-priced hairdryers, I settled on this BaByliss. The other dryers just didn’t get hot enough. This dryer is very quiet but has a stong air flow and the high heat temperature is hot, but not so much that it burns the scalp (I use the concentrator nozzle). I was worried about the weight, since so many others said it was too heavy. Yes, its heavier than most dryers at this price point, but I haven’t had a problem with my arms getting tired even after the 20-25 minutes it takes to dry my hair (I do exercise with weights regularly though). I actually weighed it out of curiosity and it’s only 1 lb 11 oz. For those looking to spend less than $35 on a hairdryer with a salon-level high heat temperature, this BaByliss what you need!

Get A Grip

I really have to giggle at the claim that this dries hair from the inside out. How can it do that? And the current product dimensions says 2.6 ounces. That is an error. It weighs over 2 pounds. Now for the good stuff. It isn’t quiet, but it’s quieter than other blow dryers I’ve owned. There isn’t anything amazing or magical about it except the design. It’s a bit more compact than my old dryer, and the handle is great. This dryer is so easy to hold and aim. All the other blow dryers I’ve owned felt clunky. This feels like an extension of my arm. You know how sometimes you have those days when you go to spray your hair, and you wind up spraying the bathroom door? It’s like that with blow dryers, too, let’s face it. I don’t have that problem with this baby. I actually *don’t mind* having to dry my hair! Since I can really get it pointed in the right direction, I can get my hair dry faster. I noticed this difference in the grip as soon as I took it out of the box. Also, my arms don’t get as tired with my BaByliss. The cool shot really is a cool shot. Takes a second or two vs fifteen for it to get really cool.Ceramic heat? Who really cares about that? It’s a great blow dryer. Period.I would definitely recommend this to a friend. I may even buy one for my hairdresser 🙂

Great Hair Dryer

I too am tired of purchasing cheap hair dryers that burn out quickly. This hair dryer has a nice long cord and is a nice size, not too largeor heavy. It is a powerful dryer. It dries my hair super quick. I have short hair that is fine but I have a lot of hair. The reason I gave it a 4 star is because the flat design of the on/off switch. It is a little difficult to switch on and off quickly. Despite this, I would still purchase this hair dryer again.

Will blow you away! *gigglesnort*

BaByliss is already known as one of the tippity top among hairstylists. I used my sister’s really fancy one (the Ferrari), and I found it completely superior to anything else I’d used. And, at the price I was able to get this one for for on Amazon, I figured why the hell not? It blows stronger than any typical consumer blow dryer. It is extremely well constructed. It has a lot of options, etc.,I’m convinced I wouldn’t have purchased any other kind of blow dryer. I’m completely happy, and I think you will be, too!

only for 2 months

I liked this hair dryer at the beginning, It seemed fine. But only for 2 months. After 2 months of using (only 1 person), it stops once in a while – about once a week. Now, it is not on for High, only Low works. It’s been only 2 months and 2 weeks now. But I cannot return this one either because the return expired already. Don’t buy this one, I don’t want to pay this much money for 2 months of hair dryer.

Very powerful but I prefer my ionic hairdryer

This blows hair at a very high power, but for me it just made my hair tangle. I’ve had better luck with my ionic hairdryer, which keeps the hair silky and soft. I sort of wish I hadn’t spent the money on this.
