Babyganics Mineral-Based Sunscreen 50 SPF, On-The-Go 2-Ounce Tube

Our Baby-Safe Standards Baby-safe is how we create, test, and improve our products. Between idea and reality we talk to parents, doctors, regulatory experts and scientists. We learn what we should and shouldn’t do to make it safe and great. How does or doesn’t the product feel and smell? How does it work and why? What ingredients will make it better? What which are unsafe or unnecessary? How can we can make it easy or fun and economical to use? We test and refine it. And once it’s on the shelf it’s never off our radar. We review ingredients, the latest studies, listen to your feedback and we’re on the lookout for new and better ways to improve performance or safety. Just like our babies we never sleep. Our Do’s and Our Don’ts It goes without saying (but we’ll say it anyway) we don’t use toxic or harmful ingredients. But there’s no generally accepted standard for “natural” and “safe” so we’ve come up with our own. All our ingredients are vetted by experts as safe to use around babies. Our “never use” ingredients come from Natural Product Standards, EU and US lists of ingredients to avoid (parabens, phthalates, known toxins, endocrine disruptors, carcinogens, etc.). Then the real parent test: “Is this something we’d confidently use around or on our own babies?” If it’s on the shelf, the answer is “Yes”. In the end, the best way for all of us to help babies develop and thrive is to focus on the ‘yes’s’. How can we add value to you and your baby’s world? How can we better nourish, protect, soothe, or clean? The answers are in ingredients like NeoNourish and Orange Blossom in our night time formulas to relax your baby. It’s in soothing, calming ingredients like Colloidal Oatmeal, Olive Oil, Shea Butter, Aloe and Vitamin E. Our ‘do’s’ mean our products aren’t just safe, they’re gentle, nourishing, moisturizing, cleansing, soothing, rash-reducing, healing, stain-removing, grease-cutting, clean-rinsing, broad spectrum, super-protective, absorbent, and a really good value. So remember the ‘don’ts’. But don’t forget the ‘do’s. Our Testing If it’s on the shelf, our products have brilliantly passed more tests than an Ivy League PhD. We test every product and ingredient for safety and efficacy (Does it rinse? Clean? Protect? Moisturize? Heal?) and our preservatives (Will it last, resist contamination and is it safe?). We test for skin irritation (Human Repeat Insult Patch Testing if you want to get all technical) and eye irritation. We do SPF, Water Resistance & Broad Spectrum tests for our sun care products and Stability and Micro Contamination tests on all our formulas. That’s the short list. If you want to satisfy your inner chemistry nerd call our toll free number. Plenty of geeks on our end are standing by to talk! NeoNourish As part of our ongoing commitment to add ‘yes’s’ to our products we’ve created an ingredient blend that’s special enough to get its own little shout out. This 100% natural, cold-pressed seed oil blend is specifically made for the unique needs of babies’ ‘work in progress’ skin. It’s a combination of oils from the seeds of Black Cumin, Tomato, Sunflower, Cranberry and Red Raspberry. Honest reviews

Like the small size multi-pack

Cons:-1. I admit that this is a bit pasty. But that is due to using natural zinc oxide for sun protection. If I take small amount and rub it in it gets absorbed fine. (Anything natural that absorbs better is around $30 for the same size)2. Cannot just spray and be done :)Pros:-1.It is PABA, paraben, sulfate, phthalate, nano-particle and retinly palmitate free.2. Fragrance free3. Water resistent for more than an hour.I like the smaller 2oz multi pack option. Usually my big containers get caulky after some time. Now I have one for home, one for diaper bag, one for purse and one at the daycare.

Will continue to buy!

My kids are as white as white gets and burn if they are out for more than 10 minutes. With this lotion, we were able to have a Florida beach vacation for a week with no sunburns! Of course I reapplied during the day but they remained safe. The lotion goes on well- it isn’t like peanut butter or hard to spread but it isn’t like water either… just right and doesn’t give you the "ghost" look.

Fantastic, eco-friendly sunscreen that is perfect for kiddos

My new all-time favorite Amazon purchase! This fantastic sunscreen goes on smoothly and blends well. It is healthy for babies– no scary ingredients, no extra irritaing fragrances, and protects at SFF 50 level. The price is fantastic for an eco-friendly product.Once you try this sunscreen, you will be hooked and will appreciate the rest of the line: suncreen sticks and super-convenient individual sized tubes.

Sunburn after swimming 🙁

Tried this for the first time about a week ago on my 3 year old. I was thrilled of an organic sunscreen at this price point. The first time we used it, we were out doors for a few hours. I reapplied twice and he didn’t burn at all! I was thrilled. We used it again today, and since he didn’t burn last time I was sure it would be fine. This time we were outside for about 3 hours, but this time we were going swimming and not just playing outside. I reapplied twice this time as well. This evening he started to red underneath his eyes, and places on his arm where his floaties were. I’m so sad…this is the first time he has ever had a sunburn. I have always been diligent about sunscreen and this year we are determined to find a safer product. BabyGanics won’t be that product though. I think it is fine for just outdoor fun, but with water play/pool time, etc I don’t think this is a great product.

Easy on sensitive skin

I use this on my face, neck, and chest and have been happy with the results after 2 months of use. When rubbing the cream on your skin, it is a bit easier to rub in completely. There is a very slight white tint after applying, but this subsides in a short time. No problems with stained clothing.

Good enough for me

My baby’s only 4 months old when we got this. I know they don’t recommend sunscreen for babies under 6 months but we’re from hawaii and my baby loooves the water and ocean. I think putting on sunscreen does for good than bad for my little one. After looking at different brands and reviews I chose this one and it seems to do what it’s supposed to. My baby has a tan hasn’t gotten sunburnt yet. It’s thick enough to get good coverage but thin enough to rub on your squirmy baby. It makes my baby slippery when he went in the water but that’s cause I applied right before and didn’t let it set in long enough. I’m sure if I wait ten or twenty mins as I’m supposed to it would be fine.I love the fact that there’s 4 small bottles. I can leave one at home, and one at each of his baby sitters house so I don’t have to pack it every time

I am not Totally sure!!!

I used to buy the Babyganics cover up baby that used to come in a pick tube in 2oz , this one seems to work the same, however, I like the other version much better and it felt better on my face. I cant seem to find it now on amazon. I will use this one again and will report back and either change the rating for the better or not.
