5 stars as a BODY sunscreen, 3 stars as a facial sunscreen
This sunscreen is easy to blend and does not leave a white cast all over my body. It feels less greasy compare to other mineral sunscreens I tried in the past. It has a mild scent, but goes away after a while. Overall, I think this is a great non-toxic mineral sunscreen for the body so I give it 5 stars. As a facial sunscreen, this product feels very thick on my face. It forms a thick creamy layer on my face & doesn’t get absorbed. This makes it very difficult to apply a BB cream or foundation on top of this sunscreen since it forms clumps with the BB cream & foundation. It also clogs my pores and gives me blackheads. I prefer lighter formulations of sunscreen on my face, so I only give 3 stars to this sunscreen as a facial sunscreen.FYI: I have sensitive acne prone facial skin with deep acne scars and enlarged pores around T-zone that are easily clogged. My cheeks are dry, red, and peels easily.
No breakouts no burning
I burn easily, and I have had too many visits to the derm because of it. Zinc is still the best protector (other then covering up) and this one has proven a winner for me. I’ve used this also on my face and I have not broken out from it. It goes on white (as zinc will) and then completely disappears. If I’m applying it to my face I’ll usually put on a basic moisturizer first which makes this product spread easily. I was looking for an adequate rating of 30 spf and no chemicals and no subsequent skin breakouts. I’ve used this sunscreen several times now mountainbiking and that means copious sweating and still no burning. Bonus, it smells good and I don’t agree with the one star review that it stinks. This is is really a pleasant smelling zinc sunscreen, and the fragrance doesn’t stick around that long anyway. I like it enough to buy it again even with the higher cost.
Smells very strongly of apples
I was looking for a mineral/physical sunscreen after having a bad reaction to others–to be safe, I want to stick with only non-nano zinc. This fits the bill. It’s sticky at first, but it does seem to soak in after a bit, and the whiteness fades for the most part.I’m not a big fan of the scent, though. It smells very strongly of apple (the first listed inactive ingredient is apple fruit oil). It isn’t a bad scent by any means, and I like it if I’m just putting on just my forearms/neck if I’m wearing a short sleeve shirt. But I really need a sunscreen that I can also take to the beach. I think this one would be way too overpowering to use on my whole body. It’s also so sweet that I’m concerned about attracting mosquitoes…
Good quality natural sunscreen
Great natural sunscreen! Worked very well for me in the Florida sun. Not the least bit greasy and wore very well under makeup. My only complaint is that it is difficult to rub in and it appeared white on your skin if you didn’t rub it in fully, but that is the case with all zinc oxide sunscreens. A little bit goes a long way and it held up well in the pool. I only wish it were a couple dollars cheaper, but it was a good quality product I would buy again.
The most effective physical sunscreen!
“The most effective physical sunscreen is one you are going to use.” Babo botanicals is the most elegant formulation in physical sunscreens I have used, it glides on to the skin and does not look white or pasty. Highly Recommend!
