- Stimulating micro beads
- Ultra smooth skin
- Feel irresistibly smooth
I got the details you want. Check my review stats and give me some credit. Other reviews are useless. I’m not that impressed. My son likes them so I tried it. It’s not that great, I think it caused me a pimple, confirming another review. prefer menthol myself. It is kind of warming and comforting in the cold weather. I enjoy the scent a lot, I’m picking up a little warm vanilla .This is for the red energizing bottle. Amazon seems to have an error in the details I noticed. I don’t see why they state energizing. I would of focused on a warming theme a little more. Not sure if I would prefer more Axe unless it was marked down.
Great Product, Great Price… Better than Neutrogena
I bought this because Amazon ran out of Neutrogena’s invigorating scrub. Looking elsewhere, I found this for even cheaper, and in a bigger size. This stuff is great! It does exactly what it says, it made my skin smoother than ever, and my acne has gotten much better (even though its not really acne treatment). This stuff won’t dry out your face like other products do. There isn’t too much of a scent to it, which I like, and it’s been lasting quite a while. A this rate it may last me a total of 2 months, which is great considering the benefits and its low price. I highly recommend it.
Perfect For Teens!
I picked up this AXE Foaming Face Wash for my teenage son because he won’t wash his face with a cleanser because he doesn’t see the need to (Ugh), so when he saw that this was an AXE product (He’s a fan of All AXE Products) he took the bait. I could immediately see the difference in his face and haven’t noticed any outbreaks since and now he always has a request for more of the AXE Foaming Face Wash. The foaming wash helps removes dirt and oil and gives your face a natural glow. I love how this makes my son look and I’m sure that you will enjoy the benefits of AXE Foaming Face Wash.
Strong but good
If you are looking for an energizing face wash, this is the one! True to any of the Axe products, this wash is strong! Howecer, it will wake you up and do the job. My face comes out clean and fresh and I wake up very quickly every time I use it.
Axe Cooling Face Wash, Chilled
Axe Cooling Face Wash, Chilled. This product is so inviting, it was so hard to not give it to my son, but keep it for myself. The smell – the cool, chilling, touch of manliness – just so inviting. The color – beautiful, relaxing yet energetic, splendid aqua blue. The name – “Chilled Cooling Face Wash” – “chilled” anything sounds so inviting; “cooling” sounds so refreshing and crisp; the words “face wash” sounds so good and clean, as I love to wash my face and make it feel so tingly. My son is lucky. He gets this. I did not keep it for myself. He gets to feel that good, clean, tingly feeling. He gets to look at that beautiful, heavenly aqua blue. He gets to look at those aqua blue letters that say “chilled” every morning. He gets to start his day with a chilling, tingly, clean face. I am so jealous of my son. This product makes me glad I had a baby boy 24 1/2 years ago.
Leaves Face Soft and Smooth
This is a pleasant to use foam that really leaves the face clean and soft. The pump releases the light, very faint smelling foam. The price is great and so is the product. A good bargain for the price.
I have used this for the past 30 days and prefer the scent and that this Foaming Face Wash has. Either you like Axe products or you don’t, but this is worth checking out. I have noticed a visible difference in how clean and clear my face is.
Boosted, Chilled, “Controiled” & Shielded!
Axe has several new facial scrub products.I apologize for any confusion up front, but because I got them together, my review on each product appears under the individual product lines, so I have attempted to sum up them up as one review. The product lines are Chilled, Boost, Controil, and Shield. I got all of them and think they all do a good job. I got the first three as 5 ounce tubes, while Shield comes in a 4.2 ounce can. I have used the products for a few weeks, one each week or so.These are decent product lines. I listed the ingredients for all four at the bottom of the review, in case you want to compare them. They are similar. Chilled, of course, has menthol to provide an “icy” sensation. Many of the seed extracts are the same across the four products. The face washes have several good products up front. I would prefer a little less on the chemicals and dye toward the end of the ingredient list. With the Chilled product, it does give a icy effect, though nowhere as noticeable as on the other Chilled products (shaving gel and aftershave). While all three contain menthol, I’m assuming there may be a little less in this product. In any event, I did notice less of the icy effect, which is not a bad thing. I am looking for that sensation more from a shaving gel or a post-shave product than I am a facial scrub. The Controil does work with oily skin, but I didn’t notice it working any better than Boost. Their contents are similar so I was not surprised. I felt my skin felt a little more dried out with Controil and Boost than with Chilled or Shield, not bad and not that it looked drier, but it felt drier. That could be the “synthetic wax” that is an ingredient in Controil and Boost, not sure.Scent wise, I didn’t notice too much scent in any of the products, although I think there is a woody, pleasant scent to Shield. Nothing that lingers though.I found Shield left my skin feeling the most refreshed. Possibly because it does not contain Acrylates Copolymer as an ingredient. As far as Boost, I didn’t notice any difference in it making my face feel more “energized.” I didn’t expect it to, assuming that is just advertising. But just in case you are expecting a booste or having your skin feel energized….probably not.Of the four, I preferred Chilled and Shield over the other two. I feel they cleaned my skin, left it looking nice but not oily, nor dried out. I think all four of these are good products. If you have less oily skin, I would go with Chilled or Shield. If your skin is more sensitive, I would use Shield. If your skin is more oily I would choose the Boost or Controil.Ingredient lists:CHILLED:Water, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Glycerin, Acrylates Copolymer, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Cocamide MEA, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Extract, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Betula Alba Bark Extract, Bambusa Arundinacea Stem Extract, Tocopherol, Saccharomyces/Potassium Ferment, Retinyl Palmitate, PPG-9, Fragrance, Sodium Chloride, Menthol, Tetrasodium EDTA, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Blue 1, Red 33.BOOST:Water, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Glycerin, Acrylates Copolymer, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Cocamide MEA, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Extract, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Betula Alba Bark Extract, Bambusa Arundinacea Stem Extract, Tocopherol, Saccharomyces/ Potassium Ferment, Retinyl Palmitate, Sodium Chloride, Fragrance, Polyethylene, Synthetic Wax, PPG-9, Tetrasodium EDTA, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Red 30 Lake, Red 33, Yellow 5.CONTROILWater, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Glycerin, Acrylates Copolymer, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Polyethylene, Cocamide MEA, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Extract, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Betula Alba Bark Extract, Bambusa Arundinacea Stem Extract, Tocopherol, cocharomyces/Potassium Ferment, Retinyl Palmitate, Sodium Chloride, Fragrance, Synthetic Wax, PPG-9, Tetrasodium EDTA, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Iron Oxides, Red 33, Yellow 5.SHIELD:IngredientsWater, Potassium Cocoyl Glycinate, Propylene Glycol, Glycerin, Sodium Lauroamphoacetate, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Extract, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Betula Alba Bark Extract, Bambusa Arundinacea Stem Extract, Tocopherol, Saccharomyces/Potassium Ferment, Retinyl Palmitate, Citric Acid, Fragrance, Disodium EDTA, Methylisothiazolinone, Methylchloroisothiazolinone.
Son likes skin; Mom likes smell
I gave this to my 15 year-old son, who is obsessed with all things Axe, and who has a mild acne problem. He uses it daily in the shower, and loves it. He says it makes his skin feel clean and controls the acne, but that it also makes his skin feel soft.I notice that when he does use it his face look clean and oil-free. And I REALLY notice that it isn’t nasty and over-stinky like some Axe products. One note: His acne problem is fairly mild. I can’t speak to how it would work on severe acne.BOTTOM LINE: Feels good, controls oil, leaves skin soft and clean, not too stinky.
Good face wash that doesn’t overly dry my skin
I have combination skin — oily around the forehead and nose, but dry around my temple and sinuses. It’s very sensitive to soaps, even ones that say they’re for sensitive or dry skin. After a morning shower, I always have to put moisturizer on. I’m happy to report that this Axe face wash works well for my skin chemistry.I don’t know much about the advertised “cooling” effect.. I didn’t feel any of that. The gel lathers up well and washes off cleanly. It had a slight drying effect on my skin, but it did remove all the oil. I’ll continue to use this product for the next week and report back my findings.
This is an invigorating facial scrub that has non irritating micro beads to help exfoliate. It will leave your skin feeling smooth and refreshed. The Axe products are aimed at men, but I enjoy them as well. They are excellent quality products, and this cleansing scrub is no exception. Highly recommended.
He likes it
My 17 year old grandson is using this and he says it works fine just not as crazy about the fragrance. The scent is a bit odd but it is very light. The other axe products he’s had the scent is very masculine and pretty strong. These teenagers like to smell good.As far as cleaning his face it earns a five. He prefers the other axe products.
Irresistible and smooth…
AXE Chilled promises to make your skin look and feel irresistible — and I must say that it does a good job! I have found that I most enjoy using this product during my morning shower as it leaves my skin tingling and is a very refreshing way to wake up before you go about your day. As a bonus, my skin feels soft and hydrated. The final thing that I like about this product is that I find a lot of AXE brand colognes and such to be incredibly overpowering but this face wash has a pleasant and much milder scent that does not leave others who are in the room with you gasping for breath.
Again, it is so nice to have men-specific products. Axe has consistently offered a line of soaps, sprays and conditioners and now a face wash that works great and smells great
Not the typical Axe STINK!
Axe products have always been banned from our home, because the overwhelming stink makes me nauseous. My grandson really needed some oil control face scrub and I took a chance on this product. I was hoping they would be more light with the smell as the product would be used so close to the eyes.Surprise! The smell is very nice! Light and clean, with no hint of the pimp like stench of the other products. And, Axe Oily Face Scrub is doing a good job! His face stays oil free for much longer. I am stunned to find that I will actually purchase another tube of this for him! ME, buying an Axe product! Wow.
Very cooling, especially in the eyes
I’ve used various of my wife’s face washes over the years, usually with satisfaction. Lately, a number of makers of men’s personal care products have been coming out with more masculine versions of such (normally considered) feminine products. Having recently dealt with a number of face care issues from harsh weather and irregular shaving habits (don’t ask), I’ve started taking men’s facial care more seriously, and having been completely happy with other Axe products, such asAxe Shower Gel, Cool Metal, 16 Fluid OunceandAxe Deodorant Stick, Phoenix, Twin Pack, 6 Ounce, I felt a facial wash by Axe would be a good bet.And in a sense it was. I tried this product in my normal routine and it worked as promised, going on like a normal facial cleanser and rinsing clean and refreshed. Whatever Axe added to provide the cooling effect, however, which is probably similar to some of their other chilling chemicals used in the products like the body wash mentioned above, needs to be kept a good distance from your eyes. Which is to say, I did not like the addition of the chiller to a facial wash. Of course, that is the selling point for many, and I agree that the feeling is refreshing. When rinsing, however, it is inevitable that some of the cleanser will get in your eyes and I’ll tell you, a little bit of “cooling” face wash in the eye is like scratching your retina with a stick of Wrigley’s. Compared to theAxe Energizing Face Wash, Boost, 5 Ouncethat I received in tandem with this, I think the chilling effect just detracts from the overall face washing experience. That makes this otherwise good product fall to a little so-so, and is the main reason why I give it only three stars.
Nice face wash
The one element of this face wash that I don’t love is the smell. This “boost” scenet smells like burned marshmallows, but thankfully it’s not overpowering. What I really like about the product is how my face feels after I wash it. This wash gives a nice, tight feel to your face and while I’m not sure it energizes me as it suggests it can do, I do like how clean my face feels.
Cuts down on greasiness and break-outs
After a week of having my husband use this, his skin has fewer blemishes and looks less oily, but not dry. Good product, clean smell!
Terrific, more ‘mature’ fragrance and so refreshing!
Yesterday my husband said to me, “Honey, tonight you’re goin’ to get “AXE’d”!” And I chuckled and replied–because I knew exactly what he meant by that promise, “Well, that’s cool!”In all seriousness though, he had already cracked the lids on this AXE Chilled face wash, the Chilled shave gel, and the Chilled hydrating/after-shave gel and was looking forward to an exhilarating experience. I was too: This “Chilled” fragrance does not come across like a good many of the AXE fragrances. The “Chilled” is a major step away from the sweet and cloying smell of most of the other AXE products we had sampled in the past. The fragrances each of us wear are important to both of us: If either of us don’t like a fragrance, it doesn’t get worn. We both agree: “Chilled” is a keeper. I think the fragrance will appeal to all age groups. The refreshing and cooling effect will be great in the summertime, and I can just picture smiles and sighs of contentment using it on hot summer nights while preparing to head out for some fun.Regarding the face wash in particular: My husband is not used to using a face wash: Whatever bath gel is there on the shower shelf, that is what he would put on his face. So, now, in getting this face gel for him, I’ve started something: He says it feels so good and was so refreshing and his skin feels so nice that he wants to keep using it. “Can I use it every day?”, he asks me. “Well, sure you can! Twice a day! As often as you wash your face, you crazy guy! Use this one up and I’ll get you another one!”
Fail! Not a pleasurable sensation
The idea of a a cooling face wash after a hot shower seemed really good…in theory. But in practice it feels like putting Bengay on your face: it sorta hurts. To top it off when my wife kissed me a bit later she exclaimed, "What did you put on your face?! It stinks." So fail on two accounts. It is a very effective moisturizer, however.
Works fine, but not my son’s favorite axe product
My almost 18 year old son is using this and he says it works well, but he’s isn’t a big fan of it as he is the other axe products. The scent is a bit odd but it is very light. The other axe products he’s had the scent is very masculine and pretty strong. These teenagers like to smell good. BUT, as far as cleaning his face I would give it a five. The scent gets a three. He wouldn’t want me to buy it again. He prefers the other axe products.
Boost, Chilled and Shield: A product for every type of skin
I’m a bit too old for the Axe revolution but I was game for trying three of their face products to see if it was better than my standard regimen of bar soap, shampoo and shaving gel. I triedChilled,Boost,Shieldconsecutively over a two-week period.I’ve posted a photo that shows the difference in the three face products. Most noticeably, Shield is a foam product while both Chilled and Boost are gels. Each face wash comes with its own set of recommendations: Chilled is blue and for normal skin, Boost is red and for tired skin and Shield is white and for sensitive or dry skin. I’m not sure what you’re supposed to do if you have tired, oily skin or tired, dry skin, or just normal skin that a bit tired.I don’t think there’s as much difference between the products as Axe would have you believe. I enjoyed trying each product but don’t see myself becoming regular users of any of them. I do see the appeal for younger men though as each face product has its own scent and branding.Chilledis for normal skin (that enjoys a big dose of menthol)

Great for manly men!
What man wants to use face wash? This one! It has a great smell, texture and cooling sensation as you would expect from Axe. It foams up well and is not too strong on my sensitive skin.
The Axe foaming face wash is a convenient, effective soap to use on your face. First off, unlike other Axe products I’ve tried which have a strong but otherwise hard-to-characterize clean-smelling scent, this one smells of coconut. So, since I’m a fan of coconut, I’m all for it. The soap leaves my face feeling fresh and clean, and doesn’t dry it out.
An OK face wash with a nice scent
It does have a nice scent, but didn’t notice any chill sensation. Skin felt the same as if used other face wash soaps.
Your wife will like this too
My husband tends to use whatever facial soap I happen to have on hand, but is never really happy with the way some of the products make his skin feel (or the smell). But he hasn’t been too interested in any of the men’s facial products either. He likes the Axe brand of deodorant, so I thought we’d give this a try. Having used this for a couple of weeks he says that this is one facial soap that he will continue to use.It smells good–there’s none of the usual Axe heavy perfume. More importantly it creates suds easily and feels like it is doing what it claims, which is reducing the oily feel on his skin. His skin is left feeling clean, dry, and soft and it continues to feel good. I second this! I started using it because I liked the light scent better than the “woman’s” product I was using–and it left my oily skin feeling soft and not dry.My husband says I have to buy more of this product since I keep using it too. It’s a win.
Smells Good – Face Feels Good
(Purchased for my husband who reports:) I have used this for a couple of days now…and this scrub seems to work pretty well. The beads seem to do a good job cleaning my face, without making my face feel too tight. The smell is nice without being too strong. And even though I have oily skin, at the end of the day, my skin still feels smooth and clean. I think I would buy this product again.
Great Face Wash
Axe Face Scrub is a great facial scrub with a pleasant smell. The micro beads are perfect to help exfoliate without being too harsh. After using, my face feels smooth and refreshed, not tight. While aimed at guys, this product works amazing for me as well.
it all oozed out in amazon mailer.
This product exploded out of the soft gel plastic packaging. I think something in the cooling aspect did not like Florida heat even though mailman left it in the 72 degree day shade.Got it all over me….smells sexy like a man. My husband did try it…but could only use once with residue in bottom of hard plastic cylinder. The packging was not cracked or broken…the product just oozed out in several places….the bottom seam and the cap was open. Received other items from Axe…they were fine. Its the cooling agent. Husband loves this. Will buy in store.
Scrubbing The Day Away: Comparing Three Axe Facial Cleansers
I haven’t had the easiest time getting into the Axe line of men’s beauty products. Let’s face it. Early on, they branded themselves as a knock-off fragrance company with cheesy ads that were oftentimes funny, but didn’t do much to inspire legitimate consumer confidence outside of that arena. As their product line has increased, though, that’s exactly what they are asking as they have joined the fight in getting your dollars in a wide array of new divisions such as hair care, deodorant, facial cleansing, shaving and everything in between. Gone are the cartoon packages and the suggestive taglines for a sleek new re-brand.I had the chance to do a side-by-side comparison on three of their new facial cleansers and I was pleasantly surprised, for the most part.Axe Chilled Cooling Face Wash (4 1/2 stars): I love the crisp cool feeling of a good wash, something you can feel in a slight tingle. That is what refreshes me and convinces me that a product has really gotten into my skin. Truthfully, I might have expected a more pronounced and bracing menthol feeling. But that’s more of a personal preference. This does exactly what it promises and leaves a nice residual clean feeling.Axe Boost Energizing Face Wash (3 stars): This one was the hardest sell for me as it’s for ‘tired” skin. I don’t even know what that means! In comparison to the Cooling Wash, however, I liked it considerably less. This tends to have a more distinct odor, more than I typically like when it comes to facial products. While it seemed to clean just fine, it is simply not something that might inspire me to seek it out in a store.Axe Controil Oily Skin Face Scrub (4 Stars): I tend to have oily skin, but probably a little less so as I’ve gotten older. Still, I do a cleansing regimen several times a week. I tend to believe in harsh and astringent treatments to feel the burn, so I was a bit skeptical of this product. It doesn’t have an overpowering scent (which is a plus in my book) and goes on relatively smooth and washes off easily. While you can feel the clean and tightness, it’s not the strongest product on the market. But it does seem to work without completely sending you over to the dry side. Solid enough. KGHarris, 3/13.
