I HAVE NOT USED YET….
I found out about this on youtube as well natural hair care community, and I have not used it yet but I am sure it will be great for my hair.
This product is one that I make sure to have on hand at all times. It works wonders for those who need the strengthening properties of protein along with moisture. It truly is a product that balances both, in my opinion. This conditioner literally soaks into my hair strands and makes my hair very soft and manageable. I have textured 4a/b hair and this is one of my staple products. This product delivers without harsh chemicals and potential toxins. I would recommend this for people who have chemically-treated hair.
Wonderful for hair thick hair that tends to dry out.
I will flip back and forth between this conditioner and my first love, Giovanni Smooth as Silk Deeper Moisture Conditioner. I wanted to try this conditioner because of the glycogen protein and absolutely love it! I’ve been natural for five years and my hair has three different lengths and three different textures, so it is hard at times to find the right product for my hair, but this one hopefully will be a keeper for a long time. Three days later after I washed my hair and conditioned it, it still feels very soft, very manageable, and is retaining moisture very well. I don’t shampoo, just use vinegar and water, which has also been key to my hair not looking and feeling dry.
Definitely a Keeper
Here’s why this is my favorite deep conditioner to leave in: I had been using the GPB conditioner pretty steadily for awhile and then I switched to another Aubrey Organics conditioner that someone had praised on a discussion board. So I tried that one for 2-3 weeks but what I noticed was that my hair looked nice but was less strong and showed some signs of breakage during detangling – minimal breakage. I immediately switched back to the GPB and I saw an immediate difference. Also the one curly haired 3C person I know with waist length hair has used GPB for over 10 years – that’s proof enough for me.Pro’sVery rich, moisturizingGreat Leave-inProtein acts as hair strengthenerCan also be bought at Lakshmi’s Cupboard Online Store
LOVE THIS CONDITIONER
I HAVE USED THIS CONDITIONER FOR THE LAST 15 YEARS IT’S THE BEST. WHEN MY HAIR NEED EXTRA CONDITIONING I PUT AN EGG WITH IT. PLEASE DO NOT CHANGE THE INGREDIENTS, I USED YOUR SELENIUM SHAMPOO FOR MANY YEARS, AFTER YOU DISCONTINUED IT I HAVE NEVER FOUND ANYTHING THAT TOOK IT’S PLACE,, EVEN THOUGH I TRIED MOST OF YOUR OTHER SHAMPOOS. I AM HIGHLY ALLERGIC TO MANY HAIR PRODUCTS. THANKS CK
I’d must admit that this product was on sale and it was free shipping else I’d wouldn’t have boughtt it!!! I’d love that this product has strengthened my nappy hair and it seem to do what most products I’d tried cannot and will not do!!! A balacing conditioner with protein an ingredient I’d believe is missing in a lot of NAME BRAND products this day and time!!!
Worst conditioner in the Aubrey family!
Of all the Aubrey organics I have tried, this is the worst! It has a nice, creamy consistency and doesn’t smell too badly, but it left my hair and scalp terribly oily. I suffered acne break-outs all over my forehead, behind my ears and on my neck where my hair touched my skin. Unless you live in a dry climate or have damaged hair, I strongly recommend you DO NOT use this product. Aubrey has plenty of other conditioners to choose from–my favorite of which is the Honeysuckle Rose formula.
Wonderful for fine hair
I have fine, wavy hair, and this GPB conditioner perks my waves up and brings them to life each time I use it. Since it really is heavy on the protein, I use only use it once a week. I apply a thick amount, clip my hair up while I wash my body and shave, and then rinse it out. The heat helps it permeate and my hair ends up much curlier than it was before washing it.You can also use this as a deep treatment if you leave it in longer and sit under a hooded dryer or use a blowdryer. It’s also Curly-Girl-friendly for those who don’t use silicone or sulfate products. The only downside is that the herbal scent is really strong, so you have to be sure to really rinse it out well if you don’t like it lingering in your hair. Sometimes the scent tends to linger, even though I thought I’d gotten it all out.Overall, this is a great conditioner, one that is a Holy Grail product for me.
Great for kinky curly naturals
I tried this conditioner because I’ve been hearing so many great things about it. First,I scrubbed my scalp with vinegar & water (really helps to keep the dandruff away and eliminate build up) and then washed my hair with Tropic Isle Black Castor Oil shampoo. I then used the GPB conditioner and was very pleased. It does have a very strong herbal smell (not medicinal but very strong) and is really thick. I don’t know how well it would work on straight hair, but for thick, African American curls, it’s perfect. There was much less shedding than I normally get when I finger detangle which is unusual, but I was pretty happy about that. I rinsed it out and put about 10 twists in my wet hair. The next day, my hair was very soft and shiny. Lots of shrinkage but nothing out of the ordinary. I plan to use this once per month and perhaps try it as a leave in to see what happens. I took one star off because I’m not in love with the strong smell, but as a conditioner, it was awesome. They sell it at The Vitamin Shoppe and Whole Foods in New York if you just want to pick up a bottle.
Strong smell, but ok
I didn’t mind the smell of this at first, but after a day or two I am finding it doesn’t mix with my body chemistry or something.I have fine, thin hair that is growing out color. This left my hair a little more oily at the end of the day than I would like. When it was wet, it did seem to manage the tangles ok.For me this isn’t the best choice, but the water and climate and hair type make all the difference.
The first product in this line that I tried I freaking hated! The Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose. I absolutely hated it! It did not moisturize my hair in the least I have no recollection of if it made it softer or not and I was never a fan of the smell of roses. It’s a light scent but I still am not a fan. I decided to give the GPB conditioner a try based off of a review on YouTube. And I love this stuff. It goes on very smooth, I love the smell of lavendar. I recently started to mix in olive oil with this treatment! It makes my hair very soft and since it is a light protein treatment it makes my shedding…less. I totally give this 5 stars. I have 4a hair.
Made my hair silky!
I’ve been using Aubrey products for about a year now & just recently was able to try the Rosemary/Peppermint GPB conditioner. This conditioner leaves my hair silky soft & shiny. The original GPB is a little heavier in my hair, yet this one is very light & does a wonderful job.I’ve had less breakage, my color stays true much longer & this conditioner is weightless. My hair has not been this healthy before, not until using Aubrey products & getting all the harsh chemicals out
I’m still trying to decide how I feel about this conditioner. The first time I used it I loved it. My hair looked shiny and had a lot of body- a treat considering how thin and fine my hair is. But after a few uses, I started to feel some sticky buildup on my scalp and noticed that my hair started looking especially limp and flat. For this reason, I’m thinking this might be a good product for occasional deep-conditioning rather than as a daily conditioner. It does have a really nice scent, no synthetic fragrances, just the light herbal scent of the plant oils in the conditioner.
The Perfect Conditioner
I have tried so many conditioners before this one. My hair gets very dry and becomes quite brittle. Looking for a conditioner that would hydrate my hair and add softness. This conditioner has answered my dreams and more. Not only does it hydrate my hair and add shine, it also makes it incredibly soft. This conditioner isn’t runny, which is great for insuring it will apply as a proper mask. It also has a nice peppermint smell and stimulates the scalp, so you know it’s working. I will continue to use this conditioner forever. The price is amazing and so is this conditioner.
Not sure of I like it
NOt sure if it does anything to my 4a/b hair. I dont hate it, but I have found no difference either way.
I really like this condition it makes my 3a-3b hair soft and manageable. My daughters like it also I have not tryied the shampoo yet. but will soon.
I have read good things about this brand and finally took the plunge to buy it. I normally use tresemme naturals and it works great but this left my hair feeling dry and had no slip to it. I really wanted to love it but didn’t do a thing for my hair. Maybe because of the protein, Im still open to trying other products from this brand but not to this particular conditioner.
I have used this shampoo and it’s matching conditioner for over a month. My hair feels like a mossy bird’s nest when I use the shampoo. I have to use quite a bit to cover my long wavy/curly hair and it is extremely drying. No lather either, it’s like a very unspreadable gel. I have since found a better, more affordable organic brand that lathers naturally ( soap nuts ) and I am so thrilled to have found it. Back to AO, I also noticed a lot of build up. It just wasn’t cleaning well no matter how much I used and how much I scrubbed. Forget the conditioner, it did nothing. Waste of money for me. As for GLUTEN FREE? Not sure for those with the allergy. Either it was the smell which I didn’t really like or the wheat germ, but I sneezed constantly in the shower with it.
My teenage daughters and I are transiting from a perm to natural. Our hair is soft and manageable and we mix it with coconut oil and aloe Vera for an every other day cream for our hair.
I saw alot of people on U Tube raving about this……..
You can’t always believe the reviews you read, but when it comes to this one you must try. I am sorry that I waited so long to try. It is a little pricey but so worth it. I have very think and curly hair. When I put this in my hair wow!!!!!!! I use to get the tangles out, as well as condition. It works so well, I also use on my daughter’s hair. I would recommend this to anyone. I hope they never change the formula it’s the best.
I am a loyal user
I have been using this product for years and it never gets old. I love the herbal scent, the creamy thickness of it and the natural ingredients. I use it about once a month so the bottle lasts forever. I have thick, coily, afro-textured hair and this products helps to give it strength and elasticity.
This stuff is super thick and in a bad way. It has NO slip whatsoever, so it’s thick and goopey and doesn’t spread easily at all. It also has a strong, annoying scent, and did not effectively moisturize my thick, coily AA hair. I would not recommend.
Great for afro/mixed textured hair!
This is an awesome conditioner for dry hair that needs a little bit of protein and a dose of moisture. The conditioner is somewhat thick so a little goes a long way. This leaves my dry, thick, curly/coily hair soft yet strong. I also use this as a deep treatment once a month by adding a heat cap. Overall, I am very satisfied with this purchase.
I like it
I’ve been using this for about a month, I do like it a lot. Its much better for my hair than the conditioners I was using. I dont think its a super product but it is great and I will be buying it again
Mends Menopausal Hair
Yes, you read that right. Mends menopausal hair. You know…hair so dry you can light a match on one strand. I leave this in for at least 20 minutes while I shower. My hair is so baby soft and silky!!!! This is one of those products I refuse to live without.
