Glycolic acid works as an exfoliating agent because of its high acidity but easy solubility. When placed on the skin as part of an exfoliating cream or gel, glycolic acid goes under the damaged upper layers of skin and destroys the ‘glue’, which holds dead skin to the surface. As this dead skin is chemically burned off, the other ingredients carry the individual flakes away and a water rinse neutralizes the remaining acid. The result is a much-smoother skin surface and a more youthful appearance. A secondary benefit is glycolic acid’s ability to draw moisturizers into the newly exfoliated skin surface.

My thoughts

I still suffer my awful acne. I spent so much money going to “face doctors” with no relief in sight. Except pills, that make me fat, and some pricey cream. So I ordered this. It’s strong. So be aware. It works. Thank god. It also does a nice peel on your face. It will make your face dry a couple of days after but then it goes away. So if you suffer from acne or an aging face-this works.

Hi. I am 40 years old and battled cyctic acne in my teens up to my twentys which left me with some bad scars . The scars turned very dark brown from tanning which made them uglier! Please believe me when I tell you that I tried EVERY fade cream, bleaching product, etc etc… NOTHING worked! This peel in combination with the 30% salycidic peel has removed them completely! Gone, Gone , Gone my face is flawless! I used to have to use ALOT of concealer and foundation, which sucks because the older I get the worse wearing alot of makeup looked.ok, This is how I did it… I first washed my face, wiped the scared areas with an alcohol soaked cotton pad ( the kind at the drugstore ) Afterwards I soaked the a pad with first the salycidic peel stuff and I patted it on the scars, do not rub! I repeated this until it frosted over ( it will get a white type coating on it) it took 3 passes. I left it on for 5 mins the first time , using a cool setting on my hair dryer to cool it off… you then rinse with luke warm water very well ( I did NOT use baking soda because last time I used that in the water it burnt like hell! ) just water. I let the areas air dry and applied triple antibacterial ointment to the areas. the next day they were really red like a sunburn, by the third day they had scabbed over and turned really dark! don’t let that scare you, it’s doing it’s job pulling the pigment to the surface . The 4th day I peeled and the scars where much lighter… The 5th day I did the same exact thing using the 70% glycolic peel. I alternated these for 4 weeks every 5 days applying one or the other and now the scars / age spots are GONE!This has made me feel so much more confident, I don’t have to wear all that mess on my face, just a tinted moisturizer!

Think seconds, not minutes…

Okay, like others have commented, you do have to work up to this strength, and I thought I had, but when I tried it for the first time, I ended up with scabs on my face for about two weeks and have been dealing with the red spots left behind. It’s starting to get better now, thankfully, and I will say that although my face has some discoloration still, it is undeniably smoother. I didn’t go into this blind, either. I looked up everything I could find about doing these things at home, and I didn’t leave it on very long. My advice would be to think seconds, not minutes. Be careful!!

Awesome stuff!

I used to spend a fortune at my Skin Care lady’s office and Dermatologist’s, but a little bit of research here and there, the latest technology and discoveries on the skin, plus the internet equals I’m saving big bucks and my skin has never looked better.I have had the Glycolic peel done several times previously and spent about $150 for each visit. Let me just say, it is sooo nice to be able to buy the product myself and apply it at home for a fraction of the cost.I read other reviews on here for people that have dry skin. But I have oily skin, so I’m lucky there. I just use a little extra moisturizer after wards and the following day or two and I’m good to go.What I also like about this Glycolic is it’s a very aggressive treatment but you don’t have the down time of a TCA peel or intense laser treatment. You may see some mild peeling, a few days after. But really, just no social down time and excellent results. GREAT for acne proned skin. Lightens hyper-pigmentation (at least for me) more effectively than just about any product or treatment out there.I recommend this product all the way!!! Just be conservative with the application and follow the instructions to the T. And you do need to continue to re-apply treatments ongoing, just like working out or anything else. It has to be a “way of life” if you want better skin.

I was a dummy

Burnt my skin like crazy! And I used it on my back which is way tougher and thicker skin than your face. Just dont be dumb and jump from 30 to 70% like I did. After I burned myself it scabbed up and fell off pretty fast but I still have slight discoloration there and its been about 2 months. At least its on my back and not my face!Oh yeah and it didnt help the scar I have which is why I used it in the first place.

I thought 70% would be too strong

Well I just recieved my item today and as soon asI recieved my 70% glycolic acid I rushed to the bathroom set up everything and begain my peel. This is not my first time using a glycolic peel but I decided to try a stronger/higher dosage, I was using 30% which was ok.I am African American with very light brown skin so I was skeptical starting at 30% and jumping way up to 70% (without diluting it with water) but man am I glad I did!!!!:) I see way better results with just one application of this I dont recommend to anyone else to do what I did, I was desparete because 30% was ok and I had good results but with this peel I can tell the results will be excellent. My pores are way more small and my skin is glowing..I have a long way to go before I see even better results but like I said this product has shown excellent results with one use so I know my next peel will be really great….I recommend this product it’s great.Update: My deep pocket craters are 95% gone with the use of my Glycolic peel and the Jessner peelthat I used a fewdays afterwards….it was told to me that craters could not be removed and that I would have to get facial fillers for the rest of my life. I am beyond happy with this product and I will purchase again, this product really saved me from getting expensive facial fillers every six months.

Miracle In A Jar

I live in South Florida, and needless to say, I’m constantly getting an unrequested sunburn. Mind you, this occurs while I’m wearing 60 plus sunscreen as well as using aAlpha Hydrox Enhanced Lotion 10 percent Glycolic AHA — 6 fl ozpaired with daily exfoliating withSt. Ives Apricot Scrub Naturally Clear Blemish and Blackhead Control, 10 Ounce (Pack of 2). This product helped in correcting my sunburn by evening my skin tone to it’s regular shade. Granted, I experienced peeling the first three days, but afterwards it subsided. Again, this is the best at-home treatment for radiant, glowing skin.

The best you can do for your face.

This 70% glycolic acid is GREAT. I have sensitive skin, so I apply it at the sink, ready with cold water as soon as I feel an irritation.I have used this product only twice, but my wrinkles are reducing fast. I am in my sixties and my skn is getting YOUNGER. Thank you.

(1 oz / 30 ml) GLYCOLIC Acid 70% Skin Chemical Peel – Unbuffered – Alpha Hydroxy (AHA) For Acne, Oily Skin, Wrinkles, Blackheads

(1 oz / 30 ml) GLYCOLIC Acid 70% Skin Chemical Peel – Unbuffered – Alpha Hydroxy (AHA) For Acne, Oily Skin, Wrinkles, Blackheads, Large Pores & More (from Skin Beauty Solutions) this is a great product. Worth every cent. I won’t lie if you have sensitive skin stay away! Its a great peel but it has another purpose: I put some on moles and spots and cover with bandage, then the mole falls right off. Yes, I reapply until such happens, but never longer than three days. It might itch but the moles go away, why spend all that money at a dermatologist?

Claudette Poway, CA

Boy does this stuff work!

Love access to skin peel acids. It is important to try to get buffered as they burn less. I also rinse the higher strengths off with water of course and follow with a solution of baking soda and water to neutralize. You have to work your way up to the higher strangths as these are acids. I also prefer gel form of acids as they are easier for me to control. They work with a taklon brush. This acid is not gel and I use a small piece of cotton. Use about once a month. if I havent used for awhile, I will spray my face with Americaine (get on Amazon) to numb the skin a bit. Does not interfere with the acid.

Bad Experience.

I am an experienced peeler, this peel destroyed my face. Some call it ‘purging’ I call it destroying.Left me with 5 new acne scars to battle and 2 huge cystic bumps that took over a month to go away.I have very good skin so this was devastating. Literally caused more damage than it did good. Not trying to ‘hate’ just sharing my experience. No glycolic peel ever jacked up my face like this one did.

Tammy Adger, AL

GReat skin

When I first tried this I could not bare it for more than 10 seconds, it stand! Then gradually increased time and got great results. Before the great results though a week of nasty scabbing around the eye area. When the scab fell of there was the baby skin. Results are very temporary and last about 1 month. Helped my wrinkles fade but not my freckles. I’m in my 30’s.

Skin Beauty Solutions 70% Glycolic Acid Chemical Peel

This home peels is fabulous!! I have done quite a number of home peels went from 30%to 50% to now 70%. I just did my 3rd 70% peel today & left it on for 10 minutes. First time I left it on for 5 minutes, 2nd time -8 minutes. It does sting but is not unbearable. Compared to a peel I had done at dermatologist office this is mild, however, that’s ok. I use it at least once a week or sooner and get fabulous results compared to peel at dr office which was a one time deep peel that stayed on for 4-5 minutes, felt like my face was on fire & then over the next week my face turned deep red, crusted over & I had to hide out until the scabs fell off and my face look somewhat better(very pink & sensitive). However, these home peels can make you’re skin crust over too if you leave it on a lot longer than recommended & you’ll have to hide out for at least a week until it heals. You have to let the scabs fall off on their own otherwise you can scar you’re skin. I wouldn’t recommend doing this though.

Marva Saint Meinrad, IN

Good stuff! I no longer pay for professional treatments as this is doing the trick very nicely. It is strong so if a person has not used glycolic, I would suggest a weaker solution to start.

Kelsey Speedwell, VA

This really works. You have to be careful because it will burn. There is a pretty strong burning sensation. I can tell a real difference in my skin. It is much m ore effective than more dilute strengths, but one should work up to it. I will definitely continue to use this product.

Elaine Attica, NY

Not sure yet

I have used it 2 times now. First time I left it just under 2 minutes as a test to see how the skin reacted. Quite painful, but fine after rinsing. Second time left a little over two minutes. Had been tanning the day before and in spite of spf 30 and 50 got some sun freckles – those were almost completely gone after the peel. Skin did look clearer, but I did not see any difference in the fine lines. I see about the same improvement (or maybe more) with the Olay microdermabrasion/peel combo and it is much less painful. But will continue with this peel once a week, maybe give it another 3 or 4 times and later judge if it is worth the pain.A note to the people who have had problems – you have to know your skin and use common sense. I know my skin is not sensitive at all and I also did a spot test before the first time just to be sure. I also have had high concentration glycolic peels for acne as a teenager and I know my skin can tolerate it. If you have sensitive skin and have never used a peel before you should probably not use this product or at least not start with such a high concentration. To lower the concentration you can just mix with water and the bottle has the proportion guidelines, so you can try that as well. Time is also key. Don’t assume you know better and leave it on your skin for too long, instead of looking better you can burn yourself and look worse.. as it seems has happened to a few people.A good tip is to use a clean foundation brush to apply so you don’t get it on your hands.

Ladonna Dewey, OK

Good Product

I have used it four times over the past several months and I like it. I have noticed minor improvements in my pores and tone. It’s possible I am not using enough of the product but I am afraid to burn my skin. You can not hide your face. It burns extensively but for the short duration it’s applied I can handle it. I will continue use and very detailed instructions included.

Ida North Eastham, MA

Great product

Great Product. Not too harsh, yet it does work over time.Wish I had waited for it. Instead I used another product which was much stronger and left a permanent scar. But really LOVE this one. Especially for the occasional breakout. It takes it right away.

Jean Keyport, NJ

This works like charm! I used to go to the dermatologist to get this done but it was so expensive. I’m so glad I found this! Just make sure you follow the instructions and don’t be scared if you look ugly for a couple of days coz after that the beauty in you will come out! Good luck!

Clearest Skin I’ve Had in 30 years

Dark/shaded, uneven skin tone, dry texture, acne and other breakouts from sugar and fried foods are now history. I am getting all kinds of compliments from people who have known me for years, and want to know what I’m doing to achieve suc a nice yourthful glow. When I glance at myself in the mirror I am very pleased and can feel my level of confidence rise. I am loving my skin now after years of struggling with it. Dietary changes was the major part of my skin success, and glycol acid peels is the cherry on top. Its as if my skin needs a manicure/pedicure of sorts to get rid of dead skin that won’t flake off on it’s own…though I never saw any dryness in my oily skin type.

Fanny Moss Beach, CA

good purchase

I add this too my body lotions

It is great to keep the skin soft. Because it is 70%, it still has some kick when added to the oilier lotions and creams.

Lara West Baldwin, ME

70% Glycolic Acid

Works good, but I now use 50% TCA, which is considered to be a "medium" peel whereas glycolic acids are considered "mild". Highly recommend!

Amazing results

Make sure you follow directions & use a neutralizer you will have amazing results instantly! Yes, your skin will peel, but that is what you want, it may scab if you leave it on long. Start with a minute then work your way up!

Joan Whitehouse, NJ

I am a black woman and I have been using this peel for a few months. It improves the texture and tone of my skin and the lines are softened. The first time I used it I burned the skin on my face, but it was my fault because it was my first time using a peel and I thought that the stronger the peel the better. It burned two small pimple sized abrasions because I thought this wasnt a strong peel at first. WRONG!! but I continued use the peel and I paid close attn to the direction and I diluted it with water so that It wasnt as strong and it helped heal the burns that I caused to appear during the first peel I did. Since then I used it full strength on my arms and legs for discolorations/mosquito bites etc that I picked at and diluted it when I wanted to use it on my face. I worked wonderfully when I used it properly. Please be aware that this strength is accurate! not like some other companies that mislabel the strength of their peels. Since this one ran out I bought their 35% strength and it works great as well! love this company and have been doing peels for 8 or so months now and my skin looks and feels great.

Dee Everton, AR

after 2 use.

First, the company.I emailed minutes after I ordered it. I accidentally ordered the wrong concentration and asked to see if it was possible to change my order. Well.. i saw that the package wasn’t sent out for almost 3 days. But I didn’t get an email back. After it was sent they emailed me simply to let me know that it was shipped. Kind of like.. " it’s shipped. o’wells".2 stars comes off from lack of prompt communication.Product itself is okay. I have hard time believing this is wopping 70%. I’ve had facial containing 50 percent that worked much more harsh. This product is identical to the 35% i’ve used in the past. So.. if you’re thinking of diluting this to make more peel for the money. It’s not going to be affective. It’s already very weak for being "70 percent"After all. This is acid peel. No one who isn’t sure shouldn’t be using it. First place to make sure your skin can tolerate this is to go see a professional. I paid around 80 per session few times in the past so I knew I wasn’t going to have a bad reaction.I also use drop or two with my facial mask too. 2 drop doesn’t tingle my face at all but facial mask works much better with it in my opinion.

Sheena Bolton Landing, NY

love it

i bought this product thinking that i could use it to get rid of stretch marks but it was too mild to do so, but then i read up more on glycolic acid and i fig i would use it to get a glow to my skin, and it sure did!!, i had a few spots on my face and i used it on my face and by my 3rd peel the spots on my face were almost gone, you can hardly see them and it leaves my skin feeling soft and new and also looking younger…..i love it….i will be buying again

Next best thing to a doctors chemical peel

You have to work up to this strength. Definitely don’t start off with this number. I’ve been doing at home chemical peels for years. I’ve had the dermatologists peels too. They can add up. $$. I like to be able to do them in the comfort of my own home. I use this 1-2 times a week. I’m 49. It helps with wrinkles, freckles, brown spots and discoloration. I’m ready to go up to the next strength as I can leave this on for 15 minutes now. The best thing to do is exfoliate between peelings but be gentle as your skin is a bit thinner. I will definitely keep using this product.

Frieda Geff, IL

Very strong

Does just what it promises,be sure to get an astringent with it to balalce the ph or you might burn your skin. Wear sunscreen
